One will to create oceans. One will to summon the mulberry fields.

One will to slaughter countless devils. One will to eradicate innumerable immortals.

Only my will… is eternal.

A Will Eternal is the fourth major xianxia novel by the renowned Er Gen. It tells the tale of Bai Xiaochun, an endearing but exasperating young man who is driven primarily by his fear of death and desire to live forever, but who deeply values friendship and family. The story takes place in the same Universe as Er Gen's other novels, but is a separate story and can be read alone. It is much more comedic and light-hearted than Er Gen's previous works, although it has its fair share of action and drama.

Review of the entire series

One of the best Xianxia series of all time. A perfect blend of action and humour that keeps you hooked and laughing all through. The pacing is relentless and we are treated to one fantastic book after the another.

I always have a pet peeve against Er Gen in his inability to write and crisp finish and end on a high rather than extending to a melancholic finale. But it's just my preference.

ISSTH is rated better, but for me... AWE series is the clear winner.

Deathblade deserves applause for one cracking English translation. Having read badly translated ones, I can especially appreciate the good work Deathblade has done here. Kudos!

Actually goes until chapter 1029.
Has some longer not as comedic arcs. There is a war so events get pretty dark and there are deaths.
MC progresses and so do the people around him. Some of it is forced progress due to bleak events / not really from MC's own efforts. Less sense of progression and moreso of finally unveiling the grander scheme of things and MC getting drawn into the secrets of the world.
It is good to see MC rising to be able to stand on the level of patriarchs / kings that he previously feared.
