A THREE-BOOK BUNDLE FROM THE NICHELLE CLARKE CRIME THRILLER SERIES.
DEVIL IN THE DEADLINE
A human sacrifice unlocks a chilling mystery, and leads Nichelle Clarke into a world of unimaginable danger.
"...You won't be able to read fast enough..."
When Richmond Police find a young woman's bloody remains spread across a candle-lit altar in an abandoned power plant on the banks of the James River, they give crime reporter Nichelle Clarke an all-access pass in exchange for her help.
But the information Nichelle gets from the victim's friends only draws her deeper into the mystery. Where did Jasmine come from? How did she end up on the streets of Shockoe Bottom? And why doesn't she have any dental records?
The answer trail stops at the front doors of a sprawling compound in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, where Nichelle finds a secretive cult leader and his devoted following. It is a world where lies becomes truth, and money is the true idol. Money some people would do anything to keep collecting...
Even if it means murdering a nosy reporter.

I don’t think I’ve read books I liked as much as the Clarke series in a long time. The characters are real and fun, the plots are all unique and complete. The twists and turns are fabulous. It also helps that I can identify with the fashionable but professionally dedicated and driven main character. Holy Manolos and Jiminy Choos, don’t miss either series...you won’t be able to put them down.
I have read the Nicelle Clarke Crime Thriller Series, Books 1-3 as well. Those were fine, then I read the first story of the 4-6 group, Devil in the Deadline. I could barely get through it. Something was lost between book 3 and book 4. Or maybe I wasn't seeing enough change. I'm not sure. I would not say don't read this book, each of us has our own "flavor" of book. But I didn't even bother to read books 5 and 6; I was done.
To be more specific, the situations the lead character was getting into were interesting and part of the storyline in the first three books. But by book 4, it was getting a little unbelievable that she walked right into the middle of a crime scene and everyone just let her. And the storyline was getting too much the same with just variations. Then the oneupsmanship with the TV personality was getting old. I guess I saw too many of the same lines in book 4 that I had in books 1-3.
You don’t have to read this series in order according to the blurb but I recommend it. You can grab books 1-3 together then 4-6. This review is for 4-6. If you’re already a Nichelle fan, be prepared to love her more. She just keeps getting herself further into trouble and wearing sexy shoes while doing it. The hits keep coming and the deadline is always looming. You won’t regret following her journey. Book 6 has one helluva twist!
What incredible mysteries wrapped in cotton balls. You really have to pay attention to every detail no matter how small. I love the ups and downs and the tenacity if this reporter. I just hope her love life doesn't crash and burn! Please tell me Joey is undercover with some agency and they have a chance at real happiness. Also please keep Kyle in the picture. I like these characters!
I just spent the last week binge reading Lyndee Walker’s Nichelle Clarke series. Almost didn’t make it to work. Tightly written, well-conceived murder mysteries set in Richmond, Virginia, peopled with complex characters I can hardly wait to hear more about. Excellent read, and I need more!!!
LynDee Walker is one of the best writers I have read and I read a lot! Her novels are all fast paced and thrilling with so many twists and turns, I never wanted to put them down. Her heroine, Nichelle Clarke, is funny, smart and totally lovable. I can't wait to read the next one in her series!
Well, first off I want Nicey’s shoe collection. But seriously, this is well written mystery set that keeps you wondering f until the end with characters you want to meet! Everyone from Nichelle to Bob to Troy have stories that keep you involved not only with the plot but wanting to know more about each of them and their personal stories. I can’t wait to read book seven!
These books grabbed all my attention from the first chapter of book 1 and have yet to let go. This journalist goes above and beyond on a regular basis to keep both her editor and her paper at the top of their game. Plot twists are handled so deftly that it is hard to feel dumb if you missed a clue. Highly recommended.
On to the next book. I am really enjoying the antics of Michelle and the guys. Not can that girl get into some trouble. So glad her and Joey are finally getting together. This series has so many turns and twists you just never know what is gonna pop up next. Definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I liked these three books very well. But Devil in the Deadline was the book out of these three that I really enjoyed. I was taken by the religious cult where lies became truth and where members of this cult had their lives altered forever. At the end of all three of these books, Nichelle fights the perpetrator, who makes a valiant effort to kill her.
I really like this author. I feel I know Nichelle personally. Shes smart, courageous and logical. I could not stop once I got started. She really is good as the police detectives. Can’t wait to see how her romance with Joey turns out.
Love the ongoing relationships with co-workers and friends that spice up the already exciting life of the reporter. Great storylines that grab you and pull you through the life of this well constructed reporter’s life. Don’t miss it!
Cracking storylines, fantastic characters, finish one book and you really can’t resist starting the next. So grab a book sit down and enjoy yourself, you’ll be as exhausted as Nichelle by the end of the story.
If Nichelle isn’t about to be killed then she hasn’t solved the case. Everyone of her stories ends up with her in the hospital and her dtory written fir the paper
I have read the first three books of the Nichelle Clarke series. After the first three, I can pretty much know what will happen in the fourth. Her story line is predicable and the characters remain the same. I will not waste my time reading the rest of the series.
Can't wait to read the next book. Intriguing, with twist and turn and a love story to boot. What more could you ask for? Maybe a baby? On pins and needles to find out😂
Devil in the Deadline Nichelle is chasing a huge story involving a possible serial killer, mob connections, and a shady mega church and their staff. A grisly murder has her investigating the victim's identity and ties to a "family" that may have killed her. Working with her usual contacts in the PD and gathering more information only to be upstaged by a mysterious new blogger who's her scooping stories has Nichelle at her wits end. Testing out her feelings with Joey they delve further into their relationship, but Kyle is still hoping to reconnect. Another attempt on Nichelle's life has both men risking themselves for her. Can't wait to read the next in the series!
Cover Shot Nicey is up to her Louboutins in murder, romance, & the health care industry. What starts as a mysterious murder turns into far more than expected. Cancer patients that bring back painful memories with her mother's bout has Nichelle investigating doctors, medical trials, and patients. Nothing is as it seems as Aaron is unable to give any information, Kyle is still trying to involve himself in Nicey's romantic life, Bob's job is on the line again. On the brighter side, Joey & Nichelle are romantically involved and spending a lot more time together. Pulling out all stops when another murder occurs, Nichelle is determined to get to the bottom of things or die trying
Lethal Lifestyles Nichelle does it again in this edge of your seat page turner. As her job is on the line again, she's busy with her maid of honor duties for Parker's wedding when a body is found in a wine barrel at the rehearsal dinner. Parker becomes the prime suspect and Nichelle uncovers long ago deaths, scandals, and current money trails which has her in over her head with too many suspects and details. Kyle steps in to help clear Parker and help Nichelle. Also, Nichelle and Joey's romance heats up even more with some unexpected declarations and more trust.
With every book I am more addicted with Nichelle Clarke and her cast of characters. She is fierce, a dog with a bone when it comes to getting to the truth and man her integrity blows my mind.
This series sucked me in from book 1 and. Ow that I’m caught up I’m sad to wait for book 8.
This author has a new top fan! I just love her writing.
