A Cupcakes-and-Crime Caper “I didn’t kill her, I swear!”
Fresh off a shift of slinging cards, blackjack dealer and private investigator Tiffany Black takes a frenzied call from Mary Bilford, the services manager at ritzy Spa Renauld.
Mary needs someone to prove she didn’t kill spa client Gina Welling—which means it’s time for Tiffany and Ian to go undercover and infiltrate the spa.
“Winters will have you giggling into your book!” Who stood to benefit from Gina’s death? Was it ex-husband Harry, who was coincidentally visiting the spa while his ex-wife was there; nurse Jasper, who's intent on looking out for himself; or even part of the spa's security detail? Or was it Mary Bilford all along, concealing her ulterior motive, just as the LVPD suspect?
Of course, once Nanna learns of the investigation happening in the swanky spa, she insists on joining them! Ian and Tiffany make a new four-legged friend, and Ryan has an important message for Tiffany...
Meanwhile, someone at the spa is out for blood... will Tiffany survive being in the den of the killer?
More importantly, will Tiffany survive the ridiculous beauty treatments she's being subjected to?
This is a cozy mystery featuring a strong female protagonist, some unusual friends and family, and a mystery that needs solving! It has no graphic gore, bad language, or sex. Perfect for fans of Janet Evanovich, Jana DeLeon and Hope Callaghan.
Praise for A.R. Winters: "You fall in love with Tiffany Black from the start, and the mystery starts immediately" - Melissa Greenberg, Amazon.com Top 500 Reviewer
"The perfect balance of being lighthearted, but still a serious page-turning mystery." - Jaycie D, Amazon.com
"A great mystery wrapped in humor and surprises." - Amazon Customer
This writer stole janet Evanovich's characters and that bothers me. Women PI with cop boyfriend and other male friend and a meddling nanna. Plus leaves out the little bit of spice of life sexual relationship. Poor imitation..
No it's not War and peace and no, it may not win awards for great literature, but what the heck, it's fun and we could all use a bit more of that. The characters are likeable, almost believeable and recognizeable and none of them are plucking bullets out of themselves at the end of one book and running a marathon at the beginning of the next. I read the entire series in two weeks so things got a little compressed but I wanted to pick up my kindle every night and move forward. On the negative side, I had to check and make sure can wasn't in the midst of a new Janet E. But the world can use two of them too! All in all, I enjoyed the entire series and while there is no way I can differentiate between books, I enjoyed them all and am ready to tackle the next series.
A. R.Winters/spa retreats and secrets in las vegas
What can I say that I haven't said before in past reviews love love the tiffany black series she's works cAsino as black Jack dealer and does p. I. Investigated work for friends and people that are referred to her by previous clients . Tiffany with her skills and Ian whom she kind of adopted like a brother helps her in her investigation works while she juggles relationship with two men in her life one, a cop Ryan the other cia stone. She ends up with a dog Brittany in this series and as usual her granny comes running thinking she can help. Humour, intrigue, entertaining I hope the author never run out of stories in tiffany black life ,I've fallen in love with all the characters and I am addictive to the author brilliant style of writing looking forward to the next series.
Ms. Winters never fails to draw me into the cleverly devised capers of her main character, P.I. Tiffany Black. From the first "Las Vegas" mystery I read featuring this fiesty blackjack dealing, cupcake baking, crime solving young woman, Tiffany Black and her supporting characters had won me over! I couldn't wait to read about her next "assignment." If you are looking for fast-paced action in ever-twisting plots, combined with "regular" relatable characters, then A. R. Winters' "Las Vegas" series are the perfect choice!
I am addicted to the Tiffany Black series! I download each adventure immediately & don’t put it down till I finish. This time P.I. Tiffany & sidekick Ian check into a posh spa to track down a killer. There was more than one plot twist that kept me guessing till the end. The ending brought up lots of new complications &/or changes in Tiffany’s life in the future!
Tiffany is funny! Ian comes out with some good remarks. Story continues from one book to the next but characters are explained in each book. Nana is hilarious. There are some typos every now and then but I remember I couldn't write a mystery book never mind a saga of them so my hat off to you A.R. Winters. Keep them coming!!and thank you for keeping these books clean of profanity, not taking God's in vain, etc. Nana is just good clean fun! 😉
I enjoy reading the Tiffany Black series. I enjoy trying to figure out who the killer is. Sometimes I get it right. Sometimes it comes out of left field. I like the lightness of the stories. I am already on book 16 in the series. I like the way the story weaves into the next book. I love the characters especially Tiffany,Ian,Nana, and Stone. I am looking forward to see how everything comes together. I am loving this series!
Tiffany and Ian are hired to prove that a spa manager did not murder one of the clients who was complaing about her last surgery. Tiffany is subjected to exotic spa treatments even being drawn away from fabulous meals to go to treatments. Even though her time is pulled in many directions she is making advances in the investigation. Ever changing leads keep them hopping and her new companion helps prevent injury to Tiffany. great reading
Another fun escapade with Tiffany & Ian! They are great characters and always very entertaining. This time they were at a spa trying to solve a murder and the retreat was anything but restful. We also get introduced to Bridget. I hope she continues to make appearances as she's equally entertaining. Loved it!! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Bridget was far and away the best part, but that's not a diss for once. This was a compelling story with lots off extended characters that were at least reasonably well developed, not just tossed in. This one seemed longer than most in the series, which worked for the extended story arcs with Stone and Ryan to be worked in without feeling forced.
Tiffany Black is one of my favorite characters! Ian and the rest just add icing on top of whatever cupcake flavor the day brings. This adventure continues Tiffany's P.I. career with some great twists I thoroughly enjoyed! I'd recommend Retreats and Secrets in Law Vegsas to anyone looking for adventure, a touch of comedy and a little romance (Ian is looking good!)
Love all of these books but this is probably one of my favorites so far I love having Ryan and stone in the books it makes me curious so see how things are going to turn out, who she’s going to end up with and the twist at the end with Ryan! Has me sad but hopeful, and I’m so excited to see what’s going to happen with Ian’s love life next!
Not as good as the others. There were too many characters & suspects that it became hard to follow. Tiff jumped to more conclusions than Ian has. There were too many "eyebrows to the forehead" or "raised brows"., & "lifted her brows" that became repetitive. Stone makes a cryptic confession that Tiffany doesn't act on & Ryan makes a startling announcement thus ending the book
Great book and one of the better ones. Only problem I have, and why I give it 4 stars is because of the grammatical errors. Ms AR Winters needs a better proofreader. Otherwise its great. A fast read that keeps everyone engaged and wanting to move to the next book to see what happens next.
I liked the path the story took. While I was pretty sure who the killer was as the story unfolded I was not totally sure. Made the book that much better. Loved the dog as well.
Another quick and easy book in the series. The mystery aspect of this one was a bit more complex and I enjoyed it a lot more than some of the other books in this series. It was nice to finally have everything resolved with Stone. Just a fast and fun read.
Moved right. along storyline kept you guessing. Brought new and old info into the storyline. Enjoyed added the dog Felt bad that Ryan his out even for awhile
Liked this one better than the last couple. A few laugh out loud moments. Enjoyed the plot. Looking forward to reading the next book. Hope to see Marvin in some more books.
Tiffany Black mysteries are always fun, but this one had me laughing so much that I couldn't stop. She never gives up on a case, and she always solves it.
Awesome as usual ! Tiffany and Ian are a great detective team and of course Grandma rides to the rescue. Laugh out loud funny and great mystery. What more could you ask for????
This was more of a proper book, with Tiffany actually investigating rather than happening on the killer and the proof she needed. Hope to see more like this rather than the previous one.
Absolutely love the books by this author. Easy fun to read with just enough mystery to keep me interested. I have read at least 15 of A. r. Winters books.
