In a post-apocalyptic world is a city inhabited by women only. Outside its walls are villages with warriors, women and children. Once a cycle, a woman leaves the city to become a new member of a village. It’s an honor to be chosen.
Attie is chosen but not by chance. She has a plan to escape the protective life of the city to search for her lost friend Naysa. But she soon finds herself married to three handsome but forceful men and taken to their village – which was not part of her plan. Luckily, Naysa is there, too, now heavy with child. Will they chance running back to the city of women, or forge a new path within the hostile settlement of men?
Publisher’s Note: This steamy post-apocalyptic, reverse harem romance contains elements of power exchange, mystery and suspense.. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase.
BECAUSE YOU WERE CHOSEN, EACH OF YOU, FOR THIS TASK
My oh my what a delicious new series that is definitely a page-turner. Throw in mystery, suspense, deceit, plotting, troublemakers, and you have a spine-tingling post-apocalyptic world of people controlling the lives of others. Pacts are made in secret, with unions forced by chance, three young women will appear, but one will be chosen and two return back to the city of all women. The chosen female is to become the bride of the three warriors who have served their village by keeping guard for three cycles. Yes, this is a reverse harem tale and one that is a series.
Attie is one of the virgin births of the all-female city, and she along with two other females will be tasked with the honor of helping Oma collect goods for their city. Attie has been concerned since her sister and friend, Naysa did not return, and she is determined to find her and bring her home. Attie isn’t like most girls, she questions and reasons things out, and she will alter this day, not realizing it means she will be the bride to three warriors, Kai, Wolf, and Ryder.
“City bride, that is exactly what you are. Do not fret over your ignorance. As you new mates, Wolf, Kai, and I will instruct you on all you must learn. You do not yet understand the honor our triad and village has bestowed on you. You will, though.”
Ulthia, the healer for the village of Konrad, is sister to Oma. She knows that with Attie, she has a smart one who will question things, and there are deep secrets that need to remain hidden.
“Attie, be careful about what you seek to understand, for such knowledge comes at a terrible price. I, more than most, know the burden of such a cost. I fear it makes me just as guilty as Oma and the village elders where the flaws of the treaty come into play.”
The plot will have Attie altering the exchange of items for a bride, something that has been set in motion for years. One bride is a Godsend, and the other two are of the city. The three warriors that have devoted three cycles to guard the village and city will choose a bride, yet Attie takes that choice away, not knowing what her fate will be. Attie needed to get outside the city and hope she can find her friend, Naysa. What a shock to discover she is to become a bride to a triad and then at their village, she will find her friend. Her plan to find Nasya and escape back to the city isn’t as feasible as she had hoped.
The story will include ceremonial details for the bonding of the union of Attie, Ryder, Wolf, and Kai. It will include history on each of them, including how the three men became a triad. Once a year the village will celebrate the new union and bride, acknowledge new births, pending births, and also losses within the village.
The union of Attie and her men isn’t without issues and something they all must work through. Finding Naysa and helping her escape changes with her being heavy with child, and in her own union with three men. Attie will help Ulthia during the birthing of Nasya’s child. What happens when it is time for Attie to give birth will be a catalyst leading into the next story.
“A mother’s love for her child is more dangerous than any manmade blade. It cuts the deepest, leaving scars only a mother can see.”
The story is a steamy romance with one woman and three men. It will including power exchange, exhibition, voyeurism, and ménage scenes. This is an ongoing saga that probably would be best if read in written order.
Abby has written a tale of a post-cataclysmic world finding new ways to live and survive.
Attie is a daughter of the thrice walled city. Outside live the hostiles, a group of people unwilling to give up their baser urges, while inside an all female colony exists in controlled harmony.
When Naysa is lost outside the walls, it is up to Attie to save her, however what she finds amongst the villagers of Konrad contradicts the cities teachings and the secrets she uncovers could bring about the end of an ancient agreement between the two peoples.
look, i’m a woman with refined tastes, and i know this book is not “good,” technically speaking. but it IS a story about a woman forced to marry three tender brutes, and is, therefore, everything i ever wanted in a piece of literature. will keep my eyes peeled for a book with a similar plot, but starring three butch lesbians, or mans who like big hoop earrings and drapey asymmetrical garments
Title: Claimed by the Village of Konrad Author: Abby Aaron Genre: Dystopian Reverse Harem **RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW** This is my first book from this author and I was pleasantly surprised. So, real quick: our Earth has been ruined by us and eventually somehow women moved back into cities leaving men and other women who chose to stay outside the walls of the city. Yup, scientists either previously or after humanity's fall figured out virgin births. Once a cycle a woman is sent from the city out to the "hostiles". The characters were nicely written. An emphasis on family and those bonds no matter if by blood or choice are a very important part of each character's identity and the story. That being said, I do have to say I wasn't overly moved. There are a few spots but I don't want to ruin those because they are meaningful. One I felt was significant yet glossed over and that really made the story lose something. When a child stands up in an adult situation don't just gloss over it. That child played a significant role in the story a few times but suddenly that child is dropped. So wrong. Yes there is a book after this. In a way the ending can be read as an ending. I can see how it can be read that way. But there are so many questions. I mean seriously, so many questions. Like the book this review may leave you with questions. Sorry. Technically the writing is decent, the story is interesting but not sure if interesting enough for me to read the next book. I do know some science and/or medical issues i need to investigate. Told you...questions. Things that make you go hmm....
An interesting story in an post-apocalyptic world. I loved it.
I liked the two 'civilizations', how the world has changed.
I loved Attie. She wanted to leave the city because she wanted to rescue her friend. But she didn't think she would be married to three man, or that she would fall for them and wouldn't want to return 'home'. Home was there, with them and their sons.
I loved Kai and Wolf. Ryder, not so much, until he told Attie his story. He didn't want to reject Attie. He thought that, if he gave her his seed, she would die, and he didn't want to happen. He wanted to protect her. He had already lost one wife, he didn't want to lose another.
Ryder's sons rejected Attie at first. The little ones accepted her, but not the older one. I loved that he wanted to be punished for her, and that he called her mother.
When the characters discovered that they had been living a lie their entire lifes, I felt bad for them. I didn't like that they (Kai, Ryder and Wolf) decided to give up their daughter, even thouhg Attie didn't want to. They wanted to save her life, but they decided for her. But they reconciled, and they promised they would bring back their daughter.
This is the first book I have read by Abby Aaron, but it isn't going to be the last. This book was incredible from beginning to end and I'm dying to get my hands on the next one. I love the premise of women being the civilized ones in this futuristic world, while men are living out in the rugged out-lands. I was captivated from the very beginning by Attie. She is strong, determined, and slightly manipulative in the way she sets out to find her friend. The mystery of what is really going on outside the city, the lies that the females who live within the city walls are told, and the reality of what Attie finds made this a wonderful adventure. The romance between Attie, Wolf, Kai, and Ryder is steamy, but it is full of dramatic elements that tug at the heartstrings. Taken all together, you get a wonderful read that you will have a difficult time putting down.
This is my 1st read and review for this author and what a fantastic story, this story is set in the post apocalyptic world. There is a city where only women live outside the walls the ‘Hostiles’ live men women and children who decided to stay out of the city. Attie leaves the city looking for her friend but she finds adventure and love along the way, she is taken to a village by 3 men who plan to be her husbands. Attie finds her friend Naysa but she is heavily pregnant so they plan to run away back to the city, but Attie’s men have other ideas about that. A fantastic Reverse Harem story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
In this world, the traditional idea of a relationship with the opposite sex is totally unique. In this Post-Apocalyptic society, one woman can have her needs met my more than one man. Attie, Wolf, Kai, and Ryder's story is exceptionally outside the norm in the way of reverse harem stories. They strive to gain each other's trust, love, and acceptance. The story was well written, with lots of drama, struggle and meaningful interaction between all characters. I enjoyed reading this book and looking forward to the next book from this author.

I want to say that this was quite different from what I usually read but the word different makes it sound negative so maybe unique is a better word and to be honest, I didn't think I was going to like this as much as I did but I was completely hooked from the first page. It was so very captivating and while this was probably the first book I've ever read by this author, I absolutely do not want it to be the last and I don't think it will be.

Attie has lived her life surrounded by females, trained to be timid and follows rules.. but unlike the others she seeks more and when her friend does not return from a tasked outside the wall she has to wait a year to try and find her.. but once shes outside the walls her life changed she meets men.. from there her plans go out the door. If you want to know if she finds her friend and about how she was raised read this book.. i look forwards to the next book.

What a unique storyline. I love the characters, the story, and the mystery behind a lot of the traditions. I love how the "old Earth" customs and traditions were weaved throughout the story, of how things used to be before the futuristic Earth. It really had me riveted from beginning to end; I couldn't get enough. I'm hoping there is a part 2; I can't wait to read more about this world and those that live in it.

Why I've taken so long to review this book I don't know because the book is so good. The guys are mine, I've licked them ;-) Anyway I've enjoyed this book very much. A post apocalyptic world is created and very well written. It is believable and I can truly feel with the women in the city where there are only women living. You can be selected to go outside the city and this happens to Attie. It is considered a privilege.

Oh dear. I wanted well written smut and instead all I got was drivel.
The sad part is, the story has exactly the right combination of erotic elements that would ordinarily rock my world. However, the author's inability to write a cohesive story (constant telling, no explanation of background or setting, weird dialogue, inconsistent character motivations, erratic 3rd person POV jumps, etc) ruined what should have been a perfect weekend escape fic.
I do think if a good editor went through this properly and gave the author some recommendations, this could be really, really strong.
Book was good. Story line was intriguing and I do want more. Only thing I can't stand is the way she is treated. At times she is treated like a child but then they want s*x. That's a huge turn off for me.
Then she is punished in front of the village! Like they keep saying women are treasured and important but you're willing to scar them for life! Nope! Nope! Nope!
I almost stopped reading at that point but I had to know if my suspensions were correct so I finished it.
Would be a 5 star read if not for the above mentions!

This is a great story about women's empowerment in their submission to men. It sounds like a lofty goal in a reverse harem story usually associated more with sex and hot bodies. In this new society, however, there is new meaning to traditional roles and values. It's a great story that distinguishes itself among so many others that don't have any plot at all.

This book is the first I have read by this author. The story-line is great and the writing helps you visualize the scene and the characters. It’s really well written and enjoyable to read. There are numerous steamy scenes that are quite detailed. There’s a sort of HEA. Looking forward to the second book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. A well-written story what the women went through if they gave birth to a girl was not nice especially if they where bleeders. I could not put this book down once I started reading. I know I want to read the next book, this is a new Author to me.
A city of women live well while there are villages outside with men, women and children. Wow...only girls are in the city. When they are of age, 3 of them are chosen yearly to go out with Oma to the outer ring clans. Three men will claim one as their bride. Attie volunteers to go find her friend Naysa who went the year before and did not come back. Attie's 3 men, Kai, Wolf and Ryder work to protect her and make her the main part of their unit.
I wanted to love this story so much it was powerful and intense and there were a few times where I was so enraged that I almost stopped reading but I continued on and got back into the story just to be let down again! I was not a fan of how the story turned out! Quite disappointed and definitely not my cup of tea.
This was a very interesting read. 3 girls are under the assumption that they are tasked to gather fuel and meat for there city, when in fact it is a instinctual for 3 men from another city to choose one for there mate. What happens from that moment on is a learning experience for sure.

This was book one in a new series--one that I intend to read through to the last book. Wonderfully written, it transports the reader into a scary future, one filled with intrigue and lies. A great read and an author to watch.
This is a very detailed intense reverse harem story. I enjoyed reading it. There is a lot of sweet interaction between all the characters. I enjoyed the story. It was very easy to read and enjoyable. There are lots of steamy sexy scenes and some severe discipline. I highly recommend it.
This was an excellent and different take on a post-apocalyptic RH romance!! I loved that it had a happily ever after, with a bit of a mystery!! I would recommend this to any RH romance lovers, like me.

I love this book. Attie is adventurous and when she leaves the city to mate with Ryder, Wolf and Kai you will need to read the book to see what happens. The book has a lot of action, sex and mystery. It will hook you from the start and is hard to put down until you finish. Enjoy.
