Matchmaker Brenna Zachary is busy connecting Jekh’s loneliest hearts, yet has no romance of her own. That is, until a practical friend makes her an offer of marriage she can’t resist. The industrious and hardworking Herris Deshtan is offering her both marriage and independence. In exchange, he gets to have the family he’s been craving since losing his during the planet’s recent conflicts...

Now Brenna’s former suitor is at loose ends. Although he’s a traditional male of the Bouk sect and less interested in securing a bride, Rajan Sunamane can concede that he should have secured Brenna’s hand sooner. However, he’d always assumed that Brenna would be there whenever he was ready. And now, not only has Herris interfered, but he’s already secured his claim with a baby. If Rajan doesn’t wheedle his way back into Brenna’s good graces, his mother - who’s had her heart set on having Brenna as a daughter for a decade - will disown him. There’s no worse fate for a Bouk!

While Rajan might be able to convince Brenna to accept him back into her good graces, and into a traditional Jekhan trio, Herris doesn’t intend to be in another one. Brenna is enough for him… or so he claims. There’s a hidden darkness in Herris that Brenna doesn’t know about, and Rajan believes he’s the only man who can temper it...

Love this series. Match was well worth the wait. Could be read as a stand alone, but would highly recommend reading the series in order.

Loved Herris, Brenna, and Rajan's story. After the McGerry revolution, Herris and Brenna both end up on the Beshni farm. They become good friends. Both losing their families, him to the occupation and her to betrayal, by her own father and brother.

Herris has spent the last 2 year looking for his young daughter, Dania. Brenna has been running a marriage brokerage, recruiting women from Earth for Jekh males ready to start a family. Herris had done all he can to find his daughter, now he just has to wait and hope. He is ready to settle down, rebuild his life and is ready to start a new family and he wants Brenna to be the mother of his children.
Rajan was Brenna's childhood friend until her father banished him from the house. His mother Restaden, Brenna's father's house keeper, loved her like a daughter. When she found Brenna on the farm. She brought Rajan with her in hopes of making a match.

A fast paced and a little steamy sifi romantic suspense with MM, and MFM. Brenna is big-hearted. Herris is an alpha, a bit of a snob, truly cares for his family and friends. Rajan is a man child. Herris no BS stance and Brenna's easy going nature, help him grow up. Loved Donna, Brenna's mom. A great set of for Eileen and Edger. I already want to knock Eileen upside the head. She is in need of some home truths from Courtney and Precious. Can't wait for their story.

Amazing world to visit

It felt like forever since I visited the Jekh world but as soon as I started reading it felt like I never left. This is an amazing world to visit, created by an amazing author. I can't wait for more books about the people of Jekh. These stories are m/m/f so if you like these kinds of books, start with book one.
Brenna is supposedly "betrothed" to Rajan, but he doesn't want her and doesn't speak to her. (The betrothal was set up by Rajan's mother.) So when Herris asked if she would marry him in order to have more children because he lost his family in the wars, she agreed.
Herris finds out that one of his daughters is alive but doesn't know who she is and at times is catatonic. He and Brenna decide to travel to the city of Buinet to get her. When Rajan finds out about the marriage, he doesn't want to face his mother so he goes with them to try to fix his mistakes.
These three have a very tough time sorting through things. Rajan is a bit selfish and feels that he is owed some sort of compensation because of the past with Brenna's father.
This author does a great job of bringing the written word to life.

Match

This KU Library selection is a full length novel within the Jekh Saga about a planet colonized by Earth. Brenna Zachary is the daughter of one of the first colonizers. Her father exploited the Jekhans and is no longer welcome on Jekh after the rebellion, but Brenna has been accepted on her own merits. She is currently betrothed to her former housekeeper's son, Rajan Sunamane, more out of going along with his mother than out of desire on either's part. In fact, Rajan seems inclined to remain single for the foreseeable future. So when the shoemaker, Herris Deshtan, proposes a marriage of convenience for her to bear his children, she says yes. Now, fearing the wrath of his mother, Rajan finds himself trying desperately to become something he never thought he'd be, the subordinate male.

This full length novel has it all, excellent world building, interpersonal relationships, community dynamics, a strong male lead, and a female who comes into her own. I loved it and can't wait for the next release.

Brenna, Rajan and Harris

Brenna, Rajan and Herris

Until this book came out I had no idea of how starved I was for a new Jenkh book.

The series is probably one of the best I have been reading. The characters are so well developed and the story line flows smoothly in each book with no repetition.

The author manages to catch the reader up on the previous characters without overwhelming the reader with useless information. It is like reading a living history but still keeping true to the main characters of the actual story.

If you want to read about an off world that the people of earth tried to suppress after they a had already been genetically created by other aliens you cannot go wrong with this collection.

Straight fan of this series.

I really enjoyed the book. Brenna and Herris make for a great couple and Rajan, her ex, wants to be part of it, too.

Herris is a very complicated man. He is clear about what he wants and doesn't suffer fools. He goes after Brenna even when most would not have taken that risk. Rajan is very much his opposite - a conflicted man who isn't sure what he wants and has been going down the wrong path. Brenna is so kind and just wants to make everyone happy.

The story has some good twists and the author really builds the relationships. I would love to read more about them.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

I enjoyed the story but was not everly enamoured with Brenna, Herris and Rajan. Brenna lacked spine in some cases, whereas the guys were respectively too stiff and loose. I came to like their trio eventually though I did not like the fact that ending was abrupt as quite a lot of events towards the end of the book were glossed over (the desert, clearing the air between Brenna and Rajan). It just was not enough for ne to validate the changes in characters or theur behaviour.

I really enjoyed this story of Brenna, Headron, and Rajan forming a trio. Their relationship is fraught with a lot of delicious tension -- sexual and otherwise. We also get an intriguing look into Eileen and Edgar's relationship, and I can't wait to learn more. One of my favorite entries in the series!

I think this is one of my favorites in the series. Sometimes, a romantic triad seems to drag while each character figures themselves out, but I think Trent is really good at balancing everyone having development without bogging down the story. There is discussion of a hard pregnancy, infertility treatment, and the previous death of family.

At last!

I’ve been waiting so long for the next book in this series and I tried to make it last. It should have been longer. I think the next book will be longer with two couples but I’d rather read about Jekh mmfs.

Unemotional arrangement

This story started out as an unemotional arrangement to have children. Over time it became more but was still an unemotional coupling. The third in the trio was a strange storyline. Not a very exciting read.

Match

Such interesting ways to begin relationships and more past people show up at the farm. Some imperfect Jekhans emerge to add interest and villainy.

This was a enjoyable and entertaining read. Even though I enjoyed this book there were a couple of things that bug me. First I have always like Brenna but I didn't remember her being so compliant. I also had mixed feelings about Herris I didn't feeling like his intentions towards Brenna was sincere. He was just using her and she was going to be okay with being used. I had a problem with that!!! I know that sometimes being lonely makes you make bad decisions. I'm just glad in the end she found her backbone. Overall a good read and I can't wait to see what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Intense. What began as a union between two blossomed into much more. Unexpected twist adds some suspense. Received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
