Lacking self-control and doomed to a downward spiral, she must confront unknown assailants who seem to want her dead at all costs and a sinister plot which threatens to devour her completely. Who was the one who changed her, and why?
Along the way, Sigrid will find a whole new world, a life reborn, and a handsome, charming boy with a fondness for pop culture references. They share more than common interests, and their fates are somehow entwined.
Will Sigrid find the answers she seeks?

Vampire Rising is book 1 in the Regalia series. This is a hard book to get a handle on. The storyline is intriguing and characters well developed as we have Sigrid, Main Character, being bitten by a vampire and then left to figure out what she has become and how to deal with the thirst for blood and everything else vampire. Although the story is intriguing, there are many parts that are slow and hard to get through. I am a fan of the genre and will stay with the series and hope Book 2 will have resolved the issues that made my rating a 3 (3.5 would had been better). Received an ARC from Hidden Gems and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Short story. The problem I have is that when I wanted to sign-up, the site would not load. On more than Han three occasions. But it was interesting and two people turned and not knowing what’s going in n. Just some “powers” they were gifted.
DNF. I am an avid reader and it is rare for me to give up on a book, however I did this time. The point of view was written very strangely and the details sparse. The story was so slow to get anywhere I just couldn’t keep forcing myself to read the book. There was so much detail about her surrounding, but little about the main character.
I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems Books and am voluntarily leaving a review.
