A very understandable and comprehensive look at Emotional Intelligence and how to leverage it for better living. Most readers can benefit from the information and exercises that are provided in this book to improve the way you interact with others – in a variety of social and business situations. I especially liked the section on Visualization and practicing techniques that can assist you in creating a more buoyant future. I also like the section on Dealing with Your Past which provides some sound advice on coping with past events. Overall I highly recommend this book as an introductory exploration to make the reader become a better steward of his or her emotions so that we all can interact with each other in more positive ways.

Pretty basic book on the field of EI, but a quick easy read. Good for a “refresher”, not great if you are looking for substance. I did find the segment on looking for verbal cues interesting however mostly unconvincing. Metalanguage is a useful term as well.

After reading this book, I understood that my biggest problem is on setting a clear boundary and let other people know where I stand. I should have been completely honest about my altitude.
