Can’t stop reading Cameron Hayden’s books as soon as they come out.

Never disappointed and the universe he is building grows wonderfully in depth and character.

In a sea of great content he stands above.

excellent!

I love the beginnings of series. Hayden continues to work within his established world, adding to an already rich story.

‘There was a tension amongst the prisoners aboard the S.S. Ramsden.’

Michigan author Cameron M. Hayden, a young handsome new lad with a long-time love of fantasy and science fiction, made his literary debut with the REACH BETWEEN TWO WORLDS and introduced us to the vast world of Arkos – the story universe of all of his novels. In one of his books he presented a Foreword that shares is life and endears him to his readers – ‘When I wrote the first chapter of what would eventually become the Arclight Saga, I was quite literally destitute. I had no money, nowhere to live, and no family to help. This was the summation of a lifetime of poverty, both with myself and my family. My earliest memories, in fact, are of being in homeless shelters on the streets of Chicago. Then, another homeless shelter somewhere in Minnesota. Once, my family had to stay in an abandoned bank property in a strip mall simply because we had nowhere else to go. Eventually, we upgraded to the basement of my grandmother’s house. All nine of us. I was too young to truly understand the situation we were in; I trusted that my parents would take care of me, and that was that. Don’t take this as a slight against them. To their credit, they did their best, and I still love them both. When I was nineteen, I wrote the first page of the Arclight Saga while I was sitting, temporarily homeless, in the deli area of a local grocery store, contemplating the poor decisions I’d made in my life. In my backpack, I had a notebook and pens, and with them, I began to write about a poor beggar man that was actually a powerful sorcerer—eventually he became Aris.’

Once bitten by the zesty Cameron Hayden book bug readers always return for more – and await the next one. In this new series of which CONCORDANCE is Book 1 Cameron offers a Foreword that further enhances our opinion of his gift and his persona: ‘The world of Arkos has grown faster than I could have ever hoped for…Now I have a new series to share with you in The Arkos Cycle. While it does share continuity with my other works, this is a standalone series. Reading y other books will give you a more complete picture of the world, but it is not required. You can start here. These are intended to be shorter that he Arclight novels, almost like adventure serials, In many ways The Corelight Expedition is an homage to old expedition-type stories like ’Journey to the Center of the Earth’ and various Atlantis-based stories. They’re some of my favorite things to read, and I hope you enjoy my version….’

So dip in and enjoy yet another successful adventure. Cameron supplies a brief plot summary – ‘Caiden Rycroft's world is turned upside down when he discovers a millennia-old warship marooned on a remote mountainside. Inside the wreckage lies the secret to finding the Corelight, a piece of primordial magic that could shift the balance of power in the world.’

Adventure, intrigue, mystery and a hefty splash of science fiction make this book a pleasure to read. Cameron M Hayden is riding the crest!

Another good start to,a new series.

This book was confusing for me and I'm buying the next one to see if things clear up! I thought that professor Rycroft was,so
sort,of wimpy compared to the rest,of the group.i

Book 1

Book 1 was a fun read and had errors throughout. The start was very slow and had a lot of information, but overall pciked up. I enjoyed the characters and plot and look forward to the next book.

It is not a bad book. It has the feel of a nice adventure. But the character doesn't catch on to me. It had it's exciting moments where it was difficult to lay the book down. But as I came to the last chapter I didn't had the need to buy/read the next book.

It has a nice world though, quit different from the other books I have read the last year. A mixture of magic and mechanics. There is some scheming and plotting, adventure and friends.

But just something about the writing style just doesn't match with me. Still 4 stars because it is not the writers fault :)
