A Mantlo masterpiece (and other stories)!
Highlight of this volume has to be the centrepiece Midas storyline, in which the villain uses industrial espionage coupled with legal methods to steal Stark Industries from our hero - in long-running subplots leading up to a six-issue epic. The means of his comeuppance were even longer in gestation, involving plotlines going back to some of the earliest issues of Iron Man's title. It is hugely satisfying and a testament to the abilities of writer Bill Mantlo.
The other stories can't compete, because the bar set by this saga is so high. I'm surprised Marvel never collected it on its own, although I might sympathise if the task of collecting together all the plotlines leading up to the denouement was too daunting for any collections editor to face.

A decent run of stories as Iron Man hits issue 100 - and beyond. George Tuska provides most of the art, but Keith Pollard's better style takes over, and Bill Mantlo has fun with the supporting characters. Old foes and friends are back, and the book ends on a high - the High Evolutionary...

Like the last volume this was a pleasant surprise. It has been years since I have read these issues and I didn't really remember much about them.
