Five flaps life to reveal that youngsters have much in common with various animals when it comes to what they like to eat. Like a mouse, for instance, the baby likes to eat oats, and like a parrot, the little one loves eating oranges. YUM! Who doesn't? I liked the fact that animals such as bats and penguins that aren't usually featured are presented here, allowing readers to learn more about their food preferences and what humans and other animals have in common. As is the case with the other books in this Just Like Me! series, this one allows readers to explore their own food habits and tastes while finding some commonalities with another species. This is a sturdy board book too, which means it should be able to stand up to frequent handling. The brightly-colored illustrations are child-friendly and visually attractive.

This bilingual board book has a mouse, lamb, parrot, penguin, and bat, each thoroughly enjoying the one food or drink that is illustrated on that page. There are flaps to be opened. Inside the flap, the baby is reacting to what the animals are enjoying and expressing the feelings towards that.

I think young children will enjoy seeing the various animals enjoying their food or drink, opening the flaps, and seeing what the baby thinks of that food or drink.

Only one thing was a little off putting, to me - where the baby is about to eat a fish with its eyes and head intact. Other than that, this book is, as the back of the book describes, "charming".

This brightly illustrated board book has fun fold out flaps. A mouse, a lamb, a parrot, a penguin, a bat each like certain things to eat and so does the child.
