Omegas belong to the king. But this one belongs to me.
Kingsley At the frat party, someone must have spiked my beer, because I see a bright light and find myself sitting on a bed with a huge, green monster looming over me. I screech and throw every sharp object within reach. But you know what’s really weird? I’m terrified and, at the same time, there’s something about those black eyes, that scent, that purrrr that makes my body come alive.
Loven I fight for the honor of someday owning an Omega—a rare breeding female reserved for Alphas hand-selected by the king. For years, fighting alone has been enough. Until I scent this alien female, and my body emits a mating call.
Omegas are the king’s property. If I don’t deliver her to the Omega Compound, I’ll lose my life, the lives of my Horde Alphas, and risk starting a full-scale rebellion. And yet, I can’t part from her. This one belongs to me.

Alpha Breeds (Alpha Horde #1) was an imaginative take on the whole Omegaverse genre that has become extremely popular recently: this one takes us off world through a doorway to another planet opening up a whole new realm of possibilities. Unfortunately, I don't think this was taken advantage of fully as for me though this was an enjoyable story It really could have been that much more than it actually was. The lightest and most laid back to date of the Omegaverse fiction that I have experienced and there was a lot here that I really liked: but also some things that didn't quite work or could have been expanded on much more than they actually were So I did think the world building here was a tad lacklustre: not explained in enough detail for me to get a picture fully formed in my head: the foundations and ground floor were all there but the first floor needed some work if you get my drift. Certain situations were also not expanded on so I was somewhat confused at times: an example when Leven lost his armour leaving himself unprotected I wasn't sure how this had occurred. Was the armour just that a body-shield that he had discarded or was it actually organic. I realised later it was more organic but I checked back twice to see if I had missed the memo. There were other oversights like this as well. I also wasn't a big fan of Kingsley and did find her somewhat self-absorbed and whiny. She also didn't seem that bothered about the family she had left behind on earth hardly giving them a second thought: found that one a bit bizarre myself. They obviously have no clue as to her fate: but she doesn't seem even slightly concerned about easing their minds. She also seemed to accept her situation after the initial screamfest really swiftly indeed. Now for what I did like: I loved the Alien appearance of the Alphas they were almost reptilian in there appearance: snake-like. Loven is a Seven-foot and sage green Alien with black eyes and lips. He has no ears a flat nose and also a forked tongue: He's bald with long hair braids sprouting from the back of his head: he also has a pair of four inch long canines. With glowing serpent tattoos on both his arms, he's quite the exotic Alien Alpha. This Alphas purr is described as akin to that of a rattlesnake which is certainly different. There's also nesting and knotting as well as the purring and obsession: but all with a much more softer and more humorous vibe than I've come to expect from this particular genre. Ir really made a nice change to experience this genre in a less intense way. So, this was my first experience with this author and I will be continuing on here as I'm curious to see what is to come next. I enjoyed this and though I had some issues it was still an interesting read and as such I am on board to see if book two builds on the foundations started here. I borrowed this with my KU subscription. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
I’m on this Omega binge read and I have been reading pretty decent reads. Alpha Breeds is slightly different from the last few I have read. I find it tamer and less steamy, but still smutty and erotic.
I’m not sure on the low ratings, because nothing jumped out of this book that I could call bad. I liked the characters and the storyline. The pacing was good and the flow worked for me.
Kingsley is a regular college girl until she wakes up one day not on her planet. She’s a little difficult to endure during the beginning because she kept on saying how she’s tripping on drugs. Once that ended, the book picked up a bit.
Loven serves the king. I like the world building in this one. Omegas are not to be bonded and they are shared. I guess in a society where there’s five Alphas to one Omega that is the solution to the problem. The thing is, Kingsley isn’t an Omega right? She’s human. So why can’t Loven keep her for himself.
I liked the interaction between the two. It’s funny as Kingsley tries to figure out Loven’s world and Loven tries to figure out how to get into her pants.
I’m sad to say, but I’m finally reading a series by Milana that I’m not sure if I’m going to enjoy. I had a hard time with the alien setting, as well as how some of the characters behaved. Especially Kinglsey who didn’t seem quite as freaked out by her alien abduction as I feel would be warranted. I’m just not as excited to get back to this world as I was for her Beast Mates and Ice Age Dragon Brotherhood series’. I’m definitely going to keep reading in hopes that I get sucked into the world building that Milana is so notorious for, but for once I’m feeling slightly wary. Hopefully things look up for me with this one.

Reread This is so ridiculous and crude it's unbelievable....but I enjoyed it 😅
Spoilers ahead, 2.5* kinda
College student Kingsley is at a frat party when she follows a light and and ends up on an alien planet Loven is an Alpha male who leads the Horde, he battles for his king in the hope of one day earning an Omega female for his own. The two meet and everything changes
Lots of sex Kingsley was a virgin I believe Loven had had sex before Some of the things said irritated me but taken st face value it was an interesting and funny read definitely not to be taken seriously
Okay, this book has corny, cheesy moments but I really enjoyed reading it! I grew to really like the characters and the plot wasn't bad. The smut was well done and the story flew by. I want to know more about this world and see other members of the horde find their own feisty Earth women!
Simple story, well written. The h is transported to an alien world, the H finds her and decides to keep her. The mix of his pheromones and the alien world, makes her dependant on him. But as she grows stronger, she makes him stronger too. He was awesome, so alien, dominant and a great fighter, kind and caring with her. While he determined to have her, he showed everyone that he would die to save her. I appreciated the story telling more on the 2nd read.
A nice short read, without any big expectations if you are bored and need a short doable Alien romance.
The heroine is not annoying lol The plot nothing you haven’t read before, but not bad. The Alien is actually an Alien. The world building is a bit limited. The next book in this series is about different characters, I would have read a sequel. But I am not interested in the same basic story with just new characters.
This story left a lot to be desired. The plot in the blurb sounded great but that didn't come across in the actual execution of this book. The writing was disjointed, and sometimes the language made the author come across as juvenile to me.
I like this one the hero had some dominant characteristics was Alpha but was Not an abusive ass. I also liked the h. I enjoyed the plot. Negative was that the hero sounded as if he was from this century. Characters Sound juvenile at time.
This is the second book that I have read by this author, and the second book that I loved.
This was so cute. Loven was so alpha. To the point it was funny. He was arrogant, but it made him endearing because he was constantly trying to throw his weight around with Kingsley and she wasn't always having it. So he would cave because even though he expected obedience he wanted her happy more.
Loven was an alpha leading other alpha's. His horde follows the King's orders and the King sent them to check out a possible slave trade ring with rumors of Omegas. They went to investigate and took over the stronghold. While there the device that was being used to find and transport Omegas transports Kingsley right into Loven's room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FAVORITE QUOTES
"What's your name?" "Kingsley." "King Slay." "Kingsley. One word pronounced King-slee." "King Slay. Slayer of kings." "We don't have to translate everything." "I say a slayer of kings, so it's a slayer of kings." "It's just a name." "No name is just a name, little alien. Loven means I'm the third born. It means I have two more brothers who were born before me. Your name is a sign. When you landed in my bed, it was a sign from the Great Serpent." "Yes, it's a sign that you should return me to my own bed." "You can't interpret the signs."
I’ve been in a HUGE reading slump. I didn’t hate this, but I didn’t love it either. It took quite a bit to get going, but by the end, I was invested in the storyline enough that I wanted to see how it ended. (I skipped to the last book)
Loven is some sort of horde leader that works for the king obtaining land/omegas/riches for the chance to someday hopefully have the opportunity to share an omega with other alphas for a chance to procreate. He has recently captured a mansion when Kingsley is transported from Earth by touching some portal. 🤷♀️ He knows immediately she’s an Omega and decides to keep her for himself which is forbidden.
Bottom Line- I thought the first 50% was fairly boring which isn’t great when you’re only working with about 160 pages. Things pick up the last ½ with the action generated from the consequences of his choices.
I always enjoy a story when two people from completely different worlds have to adapt and find middle ground. Especially when they are both strong willed and don't exactly know what to do about the other. There were a few places I wished were explained just a bit better, so the 4.5 stars.
Man, I really need to keep my ass away from Alpha/Omega books. Because I guess I'm too feminist for this shit? And I'm not even a crazy feminist type. I just cannot deal with the "I'm the male, bow down and take my dick" type of Alpha. Now, I love alphas as much as the next girl. But the type that think a female is only around to breed her? Where all they call her is "female" or "omega". Fuck that.
Now, that being said I'm going to star this book based on the story and not on the fact that I really dislike Alpha/Omega books.
This is the story of Kingsley and Loven. Kingsley is a human girl whose at her first year of college and she goes off to a frat party. She finds some glowing light in the bushes and is transported to another planet. This is all after she's had one too many drinks and when Loven finds her she thinks she's tripping. Because she thinks someone spiked her drink. Welp, honey, it's all real. And you now have a green skinned, black eyed alien whose obsessed with breeding you.
The story progressed well enough for me to keep reading. But this is the type of series where the story continues throughout the books even though the MCs change. The endgame wasn't revealed in this one, because it's not over. And I'm just not into this type of book to want to continue.
I seem to have forgotten to review this the first time I read it. :o I am so sorry about that Milana Jacks!
This is one of the very best series of Omegaverse I have ever read. I absolutely LOVE this world she has created. After I read Addison Cain's 'Born to be Bound' series I was introduced to the brilliant Milana Jacks and I was not let down!
I absolutely LOVE the Horde. And their very straight forward - taking things literally - gets me smiling and laughing every time. It's brilliant!
The sex is super sexy and def. a wet dream. ;) The world-building and character-building are ACE, there really isn't anything I would want to change.
5-SUPER-STARS for this whole series as it is all a re-read since there's just been a new release! <3
Ok so smut. Straight up but it’s not awful smut but if your cum happy and that’s your go to- this book is for you. This alien omegaverse at its finest.
As our male MC says “alpha livens cock cures all ills”
Okay, so to start you need to know I either hate or only tolerate Omegaverse fantasy. The only reason I was reading this, was cause, same author, different book and series, but apparently same universe. It mentioned characters obviously from a previous series, so I thought I should get some background.
I figured I’d just skim and skip, and since the synopsis suggested that the FMC fought, maybe would be a tolerable read.
Yeah, so the FMC was mostly passive aggressive manipulative, whiny, and betrayed body trope. Basically an omega.
Buuuut, the MMC however was a surprise. There was real humour with the scenes between the 2, and while he was kinda an alphahole at times, it could be excused as alien, in an alien society. More importantly though, despite having all the power, he was on occasion willing to compromise, and better still, willing to learn about her. All that skimming and skipping I expected to do, was only needed during the ‘omega’ sex scenes. To be fair, the very last one of the book, was actually funny.
While he’s not my kinda book boyfriend, if my bestie turned up with him, I wouldn’t freak. By the end, he was adorably overprotective, and wrapped around her finger in a bluster and chest thumping manner.
I’m never gonna be a fan of omgaverse fantasy [I tried to start with the Alpha-blind girl one, (mentioned at the back of this) 😱🤢🤬], but surprisingly, I did enjoy this one and would be willing to check out another in this series.
I got rec for this book from Omegaverse FB group as my first read from Milana Jacks and I enjoyed it! Plus it has alien theme. Why the hell not. The freakier, the better...
I just couldn't fathom what happened to Kingsley to be teleport to alien nation. Of course, she thought someone spike her drink because she was to be in a frat party. Suddenly there's a huge green figure and Kingsley is sure she was high as kite.
As an Regha Alpha for the Horde, Loven was infamously ruthless on battlefield. He didn't claim Omega because it belongs to the King. Not until the human came.
Their banter was so hilarious. Imagined the two different species with a whole new things between them. Surprisingly, Loven is a attentive lover. He is a man on mission to make Kingsley happy and agreeable. I almost forget that Loven is an serpent-like alien. Again, I really enjoyed their intimate moments especially with the sex. Oh, how much I liked how kinky is Loven. He loves to spank and use toys on her. Whew... freakin' HOT!
However, the story is not always about sex. Alpha Loven is protective with Kingsley when she is identified as an Omega. There's a group under the King called Collector. Their purpose is to collect all Omegas for the King. Alpha Loven bravely fought for Kingsley even when he's without power. I'm really root for this male alone. Also Kingsley is easily likable person. She's undeniably cute and amazing in her own ways. Overall, I really enjoyed this book for fun. Nothing is too complicated.
This is a general review for all 4 books in the Alpha Horde series. Loved 'em!
This is a sweeter version of an Overse. The Alphas aren't as Alphahole and the O's are all Earth girls swept up in an alien world about to be changed by their presence. It's got all the usual Overse tropes with some unique characteristics thrown in too. Of course I lurve the protective possessiveness of all the Alphas. A sprinkling of light humor throughout keeps this a fun read, versus the usually darker A/O dynamics I like. Original without trying too hard.
I did think the Earth girls settled into their new surroundings a bit fast, but then I think I'd be complaining if the acclimation process was dragged out too *shrug. It all worked for me. Fast paced with some sweetly hot sex scenes. Yum!
This new to me series/author has some potential. The portal thing was a little sketchy but I liked how Loven gained Kinglsley's trust. I'm a little baffled why she felt the need to make a nest!!!
I could not put this down! First, I was captivated by the whole space gate/portal concept. In all of the Omegaverse books I've read none included females as normal humans and none made the Alphas an alien race. I liked how this book joins both concepts of Alpha/Omegas and aliens. Second, the fact that a human mates an alien is the best AND it's a dirty heavy sexy mating just like in a typical Omegaverse book. LOVE IT! The main Alpha, Loven, and his "Omega" human Kingsley, are such an entertaining couple. There is a delicate balance between her submission and her defiance. And when she is defiant it is usually because she is serving a purpose to help her and her Alpha. He is a dotting Alpha who would face death in a blink of an eye in order to safeguard his Omega. The chemistry between is amazing and the steamy sex scenes makes it a super fun addicting book. Her apprehension to an alien world adds an interesting element to the whole Alpha/Omega magentic pull. I am definitely getting the next book in the series!
What a funny and entertaining read! It was a surprise for me, was expecting a typical omegaverse story, and when I started reading I couldn't stop laughing...Both H and h are hilarious, their thoughts and also their conversations (specially when they have just met) make them endearing. I love it when the H doesn't look human, and it's interesting to see things from his alien point of view.
The sex scenes are well written and very hot, slick and knot included; there is a balance between the story and the sex scenes. You can see a development in the plot and the possible ramifications of the story and where it is going to take you...
I am certainly going to keep reading this series, and I would recommend it if you are looking for a good time. It is not a dark read, other omegaverse books are more erotic, but in this case I found the MCs refreshingly likeable, there's a solid plot, and no hatred from the h to the H.
This is an Omegaverse novel. As such it contains words like "Alpha," "Omega," "knotting," "breeding heat.." You've been warned accordingly. Graphic sexual content.
However, the kicker is I wasn't totally in hate with it? What sorcery is this? The story was actually - kinda sweet? The fuck? What alternate universe have I stepped into?
Omegaverse novel that's not as dark as most. Will be reading the next one because.. ya know.. for a friend. Or something..
Wow, rarely am I left speechless by a book with such high praise... Where do I even start on how poorly executed this book was? Kingsley our female MC has 0 personality. We open to her wanted to spend the night reading an Amish romance instead of going to a "kegger" on her first night as a freshman. She is eventually persuaded by her roommate and somehow (plot is not a strong point here) she finds a portal that takes her to an unnamed Planet where the Alpha Hordes rule under the Alpha King with the ultimate goal being chosen to join an alpha pack and share an omega breeding female. She magically(?) falls into the bedroom of one of these alphas (Loven) and despite being a species he's never encountered before he smells her mating potential and decides to keep her. Loven as a character has some personality but it is pretty unpleasant. He is essentially an asshole whose only goal is fucking and mating and says things like "take a spin on my cock" multiple times, I shit you not. He is not the kind of alpha male character who softens up as the story goes on and shows you heart. His one and only goal is keeping Kingsley and not sharing. He is basically a rutting bull and she is a hole, and since she has no personality I can't say I cared whether she was happy or not with that arrangement...
The plot beyond the impregnation kink was practically nonexistent. This was pushed on me by tiktok, comparing it favorably to Ruby Dixon but that could not be farther from the truth. While impregnation is yhe goal of the sakhui featured in the Ice Planet Barbarians as they are a quickly dying species, IPB is basically a Pultizer Prize worthy piece of literature compared to this trash. I literally only finished it because I paid good money for it and am stubborn
I got to say this is an interesting take of the omegaverse, I’m a huge fan of the genre and please take the time to look it up before judging a book based in this universe. I feel like I walked into the World of WarCraft, it took a little bit of getting used to but then I started enjoying the characters. Because this is Book 1 of the Series, I’m gonna let a few things slide, cause in the end book 1 is the book that needs to grasp your attention in order to read the next ones. I wasn’t fond of the ‘Insta’ of everything cause this was definitely an Insta-Love Omegaverse, it seemed a little too unrealistic and the whole 180 personality change was weird for both characters. Since this was book 1 it should’ve been more in-depth that way you secure your readers into craving the next book(s) in this universe. Saying dear and dearest quite a few times was a little odd for me. Some scenes didn’t piece together right, or at least should’ve been more explained/detailed. The Alpha, Beta, Omega wasn’t explained very well, I didn’t think for someone who would be new to this universe. So I definitely would recommend reading up before hand.
So frankly I had issues with this book but would I read the next book? I mean.. I have to lol
Romance: Was Instant But it Got Cute, no rating, Heat Level: 2/5, I just wasn’t impressed it was basic. If your looking for Hardcore in-depth Hot Scenes this isn’t it. Book Rating: 3/5 Feeling about book after reading: ehhh...
Kingsley is just starting out life. Her first year at college, her first time spreading her wings - her first time seeing an alien 👽? Loven and his men just completed their conquest - he is bloody, sated and does not find it necessary to sample or play with the spoils -He just wants to clean up - Only there is a tiny, breakable but extremely violent female in his quarters trying to kill him?? Darn if she doesn't smell like Stubborn and Mine?
If it smells like an Omega and acts like an Omega is It an Omega?
This is one of the better Omegaverse stories - a uniquely crafted cosmos with a creative plotline that kept me engaged and entertained dotted with unique characters that are fun and easy to connect with. Kingsley is a little spitfire, once she realizes its not the beer (so not telling) she takes stalk of her new reality and does her best to adapt. Loven only knows that he can not let the little female go -something is calling to him to protect her even if it is with his own life. This was a truly enjoyable read and I am dying to see where this goes - I am pretty sure I know what the king is doing but you never know. I definitely want more!!
