As with the other books in this board book series, youngsters lift a sturdy flap on the right-hand side of the book to reveal children who are experiencing five different emotions. Since the top page shows an animal who is feeling an emotion or a certain way--excited, shy, frightened, grumpy and sleepy--followed by a child who has the same feelings, the child's feelings will be validated. After all, while it would be nice if we all felt great every day, that's not likely to be the case. This book, part of the Just Like Me! series published originally in the United Kingdom, seems to encourage self-exploration and being okay with various feelings. This one is a good choice to share with youngsters since it is likely to prompt some conversations about feelings. The images are softly-colored and the scenes are reassuring, even while featuring various youngsters in action.

Very cute lift the flap board book about feelings. Many kids will see their selves represented in the book and I believe one of the children in the book even has a hearing aid too.
