Book 1-Wounded I'm happy to report the tabloids are right. Fame has ruined Liam McGuire. He's spoiled. And rude. And it doesn't matter how sinfully sexy he is on the outside, it's what's inside that matters most. And that man is rotten to the core. But then that night happened. A night when I needed someone the most, he was there. His strong arms wrapped around me. His lips brushed against my neck as he whispered all the things I needed to hear. That night, I began to feel something for him. Something real. Something rare. Until morning came with a curt reminder that he’s rockstar royalty and I’m…not. Maybe I’m cursed. Maybe I should just swear off all men. Maybe it’d be better for both of us if I could just walk away…
Book 2-Inevitably You David says we were inevitable and now that we’re together, we’re unbreakable. I only hope he’s right.
Book 3-This Is Why A little more than six years ago my life changed forever when I met Tyler Reed. He’s one-hundred percent Marine and one-hundred-ten percent man. From his broad chest and strong back, to his infectious smile and panty soaking charm, he is the man who invaded my heart and consumes my fantasies to this day. He is the love of my life, or, I think he could have been if he hadn’t disappeared. Instead, I was left with the memories of our magical day of cosmic attraction and our night of unforgettable passion. Well, that and an exuberant six-year-old boy who I imagine is just like his dad. After catching a glimpse of Ty at my best friend’s wedding reception, I find myself wondering if he is capable of completely rewriting what I think I know about happiness. The problem? I’m not sure how he’s going to take the news that he’s a father.
Book4-Along Comes Trouble I hate him. From his stupid truck, to his thick, dark-chocolate hair. From the baseball cap pulled low over his eyes, to the Henley stretched across his broad shoulders. I don’t care how good he looks when he smiles, Colton Carmichael is insufferable. And obviously, the feeling is mutual. I’ve spent my entire life focused on the future, busting my butt through college while everyone else was hooking up and partying. I’m on track to meet my goals and I’m not about to let some muscle-clad jerk traipse into my world and mess everything up. Every time we run into each other, there’s a spark big enough to start a wildfire. I don’t care if he does set off butterflies in my stomach. I know what’s good for me, and it isn’t Colton Carmichael. Oh, he’s trouble all right. A freight train barreling my way, and try as I might, I can’t step off the tracks.
Book5-Come Home to Me I say I've set out on an adventure, but I'm lying. Deep down, I know the truth. I'm running. From my past. From my future. From everything. When I meet Frank Wilde, a man whose dark eyes and chiseled abs would be intimidating if it weren't for his soul-searing smile, I know I should keep on running. There's nothing but disaster waiting for me with a man like him, a man who makes me feel like I mean more than one passion filled night of sweaty bodies and tangled sheets. For the first time in my life, I stick around. Bit by bit, touch by touch, kiss by kiss, Frank shows me what it means to trust someone with my deepest secrets and purest truths. But when his past comes back to haunt us, I realize I'm not the only one fighting demons and I might have been better off if I'd just kept running after all...
Abby Brooks writes heartfelt contemporary romance with small-town charm, found family, and happily-ever-afters that feel earned. Her stories feature relatable characters, emotional depth, and just the right balance of humor and heat—perfect for readers who love cozy communities, strong connections, and hope-filled love stories.
A lifelong storyteller raised in the Midwest, Abby draws inspiration from close-knit towns and the beauty of everyday moments. She lives in Ohio with her husband and their three cats and believes the best love stories are the ones that feel like coming home.
All of these books made me hopeful and sad 😢 all at the same time. I laughed and cried. I was an emotional wreck reading these books and I loved them all!
Wounded – I absolutely loved this book. 5 stars are not enough. The characters of Liam and Bailey were so strong and their story was heart wrenching, emotional and so romantic. The pages just flew by. I laughed, I cried, I was upset to see the book end. Abby Brooks, this is by far your best book yet. I must go read it again. If you buy one book this year, make sure it is this one. You will not be disappointed.
Inevitably You - Beautiful heartwarming story of overcoming your past and finally finding happiness. Michelle has had nothing but problems in her life. Whether it be lack of money, problem with her ex husband or trying to show her daughter that they can survive, her back is always against the wall. David has also had his share of misfortune and thoughts that he would never find happiness. When the two characters come together sparks fly instantly and even though they have to deal with even more twists and turns, their true love wins. This is an awesome book about soulmates. It was an emotional read that I highly recommend.
This is Why – I have read through this book three times, and each time it gets better and better. Across the room at a friend's wedding, Lexie sees the father of her child. The same man who does not know the child even exists. Through determination and the qualities that make him a great Marine, Ty, not only wins Lexie's love but the son he had always hoped to have. But can their newly found love survive a deployment? Is their love strong enough? Abby Brooks hit it out of the park with this tender love story that not only has great characters and a heartwarming plot, but it is such a feel good story that you too will need to read it again and again.
Along Comes Trouble – Simply Amazing!! Abby Brooks has outdone herself again. The story of Colton and Tessa had it all. Beautiful strong characters. Heartwarming story that had me locked it from the opening pages and an emotional storyline that told a true story about not only finding love but also finding inner strength and the willingness to accept the circumstances you are dealt with and to change and grow accordingly. Loved every moment of this book. You will not be disappointed.
Come Home to Me - Once again Abby Brooks blows me away. From the opening pages to the very last one this book was fabulous. Readers cannot help but fall in love with both Sarah and Frank. Their emotional journey of finding inner strength and allowing forgiveness was wrapped around beautifully written characters. What a perfect was to end the series.
Wounded (Bailey and Liam) This book is definitely a five star read! Liam is such a jerk in the beginning, but I fell in love with him too. Bailey is an awesome girl who has a lot of of tragedy in her life. I cried a lot in this book.
Inevitability You (Michelle and David). This book is a five star read! Michelle has a terrible ex-husband. Her daughter is awesome and they overcome a great deal in this book. David is amazing! This book had me in tears too!
This Is Why (Lexi and Ty) This book is good. Heartbreaking, but beautiful. I cried in this book too, but even though I love Lexi, it wasn't my favorite.
Along Comes Trouble (Tessa and Colton). This book is good. Colton has some issues of his own. Tessa is a little reserved. The two of them together us hot. I didn't love this one either, but it was still great.
Come Home To Me ( Sarah and Frank) This was my least favorite of the series. I didn't like Sarah at all. The ending was sweet, but I felt like it needed a different epilogue.
Enjoyed the books. Some were better than others. I believe I liked "Along Comes Trouble".
Fav quote of all the books that made me cry....
“Imagine the house you grew up in. Imagine spending your whole childhood knowing that after you’re grown, that house would go to someone else. Someone who definitely deserves it as much as you, but maybe deserves it slightly more simply because he had enough luck to be born first. Now, imagine that for a few short years, that house and all the history it holds belonged to you. Imagine pouring your soul into the place, fantasizing about generations of your children handing it down to their children just like every generation before you. Now, take all of that away and give it to someone else. There’s so much me in that farm, but none of it is mine.” Colton licks his lips. “After David came home, I realized there’s not much of a point to anything we do. I sacrificed football for my family, and then my family sacrificed me for tradition. So, I make the best of it. Finding all the ways to make this pointless life we live a little more enjoyable.”
This box set was 5 different stories of intertwined characters. I really enjoyed getting to know them all: Bailey the nurse who falls for famous Liam her patient, Michelle, the abused mom who falls for her knight in shining armor, David; Lexi (Bailey's BFF) who reconnects with her one night stand and baby daddy Tyler; Tessa the teacher and Colton the fun uncle of David and Michelle's daughter Claire; finally to Sarah the youngest sister of David and Colton and Tessa's friend who connects with Frank after she has a car accident. All of these characters had great back stories. Thoroughly enjoyed!
This boxset includes 5 stories. While all the characters exist in each others' stories, each book creates its own world. Each storyline is a new start. You'll see characters pop up again, but I honestly forgot what their story was about because I was so engrossed in the next one. What a wonderful collection to explore Brookside. Each story was so vastly different, but just as enticing as the last. I assure you that this boxset is worthwhile.
I enjoyed this book series very much. I would say the first and final stories in the series were my least favorite based on the behavior of the lead female. However, I really did enjoy books 2-4. Each story had a HEA with a few pivotal moments that left you wondering if it really would happen. Definitely recommend reading them; I may try the other series slightly connected to book 5 (The Wilde Boys Series).
I loved Brookside and all the characters included in this series. Loved it was a boxed set. Being my first time reading this author I was a little taken back by the end of the first book. Was not expecting that ending! But great overall and i highly recommend.
These five books will have your emotions all over the place. So many ups and downs and rollercoasters of emotions to go through. There’s everything from war heroes, pop stars, to farm hands to make you love each and every one. The author does a wonderful job bringing each character to life and making the scenario as realistic as possible. Swoon worthy!
I loved reading this box set of friends finding their forever. This series is filled with laughter, tears, heartache and love. I can't wait to read the Wilde brothers books!
There were 5 different stories of couples in this town, and even though they were connected, they were all very unique. I loved each and every one of them. The depth of emotion was great in each one, and I was sad to see the series ended!
Truly, this series has felt like a perfect journey to me. I feel like I will miss these people being in my life everyday, as if they were real people! If that is not a testament to great writing/storytelling, I don't know what is!
Absolutely amazing writing, definitely a must read. Abby Brooks has become one of my favorite writers. She puts so much heart in to her writing, she captivates her readers and pulls them into the story and helps them feel as if they are the story. Can't wait to read more from Abby
I liked some books slightly more than others, and liked some characters slightly more than others - though some of the characters I liked in one book I didn't like as much in the next book, which made it difficult to rate the series as a whole.
These stories are brilliantly written sad happy they have it all could not out them down i would recommend you read these books best I have read in a while
I loved this series, a whole family laboring under misinformation, each of them knows exactly why the others are unfeeling, and they don't. It's a beautiful thing!
