Sharp suit, fabled smile, and a sexy shyness guaranteed to equal one incredible lay. Levi Fairfield is impossible not to want. He’s also damaged goods. Not that I care; I don’t do relationships. I do casual. And going after men whose hearts are too shattered to function is the easiest way to get it. One night. That’s always enough for me. Then a few things happen that I didn’t count on. Like how hard it is to get Levi out of my head, or the fact I’ve never experienced anything like the night he gave me. The fact that, that very same night, I lose everything. Now our one-time deal is turning into something more. Something real. I can handle it, though. I have to. Because even if I believed in such a thing, Levi and I aren’t soulmates. We’re roommates. * * * Black leather, quick wit, and the ability to get on every single one of my nerves…while lighting them on fire. I can think of a hundred ways to describe Mara, from the moment we meet. When she shows up on my doorstep with nothing to her name, I can’t turn her away. I should. But the truth is, she needs me. The bigger truth? I need her. * * * Honey, When It Ends is a standalone romance with an HEA. It is the second book in the Fairfields series by Piper Lennox. The Fairfields Darling, All at Once Honey, When It Ends Baby, Be My Last Please be this novel contains intimate scenes some readers may not find suitable.
Piper Lennox is the author of New Adult and Contemporary romance novels Darling, All at Once (an Amazon Top 100 Bestseller), Fake Halo, The Midwife's Playlist, and more.
Her books have sexy and broken heroes, feisty heroines, and beautifully real, flawed people falling in out-of-this-world love. For all the tears, there's always laughter, irresistible heat...and, of course, a happily-ever-after worth melting over.
Piper lives in Virginia with her husband, kids, and a Siberian Husky way too smart for his own good. Before she spent her days writing about life and love, she wrote copy for insurance companies. And she will never, ever go back.
My first book by this author. After listening to the audio book, I like this book. It is actually a story about closure. Closure of all of your past and embrace the future. Mara and Levi both has unhappy childhood, especially Mara. It shapes her to avoid commitment. She prefers one night stand with a damage men who going through nasty break up or divorce.
Levi feels stuck on his parents expectation of him. He throws himself into his work and neglect his marriage. His marriage ends up in divorce and yet he still holding on on hope reconcile. The romance between Mara and Levi forcing them to have closure on their family and their upbringing. Its is a remarkable journey.
What I find is lacking is the chemistry between Levi and Mara. Its not that burning sexy steamy romance. But into character development. I want more to understand their connection.
This was another good read in the series. In this one we have Mara & Levi. They are both troubled souls. Both of them trying to overcome their pasts. They begin as a one night stand. However, by the end they are so much more. Thankfully by the end they both were able to move on from their pasts and have a HEA.
DNF 10% I really liked the first book and I couldn't even get past Chapter 4 on this one. I just don't like the main characters in this one enough to keep reading.
OMG!! I thought I was never going to finish this book... Everytime the story was told by Levi the hero of the book I wanted to pull my hair out... Please keep in mind that I tend to read/listen to books in audio version so the narrator for Levi was Alex Kydd. No offense to him but I cannot stand his voice at all... It's really hard to listen to a book whenever he is the narrator. The book can have amazing story but this particular narrator just ruins it with his emotionless voice! Now as far as the actual book goes I couldn't connect with Levi or Mara's characters. Levi was just there living day by day thinking that all he had going for him was his company and how he was going to pay the bills and then there is Mara with her snarky attitude keeping everyone at a distance because love sucks and doesn't last due to her own personal life experience as a kid. My overall rating for this book was 2.5 stars!!
If you loved the first book of The Fairfields series, "Darling, All At Once," ( I know I sure did,) you'll be thrilled with the second book in this series, "Honey, When it Ends." For Mara and Levi, it was suppose to be a one-night-stand. No strings, and emotions are checked at the door. Only, they can't seem to forget each other, and fate is doing her best to see that that they don't! When circumstances bring them together, you'll know that they belong together, even if they can't see it. Oh, and before you get caught up and think this is a cutesy little story, with a rapid-fire HEA, I'll remind you that it's written by Piper Lennox. Mara and Levi don't expect to ever find a HEA, because their lives up to this point, have been hell. Very moving and emotional, with the revelation of painful memories, that are tempered by moments of humor and levity. A touching romance. I received this book as an ARC and I volunteered this review.
I didn't realize when I opened to start reading this book that it was the next in a series after Darling All at Once. I was so excited to dive in as soon as I figured it out because I loved All at Once so much! This one was possibly better than the first. A really good, memorable romance has more than just Boy Meets Girl. A really good romance has Layers to the story that really stick with you. If you're really lucky, A Life Lesson or two to take with you as well. This has all of that and then some. I never expected this book to be so emotional, but I cried and teared up many times. I'm really struggling to find the words on this one, but I was definitely sad to come to the end because it was so good
Honey, When It Ends by Piper Lennox was such an enjoyable read. Well written with great characters, the second book of a series, but absolutely stand alone. Levi and Mara break your heart then make it whole in this book. These two are opposites yet have so much in common. I loved their chemistry and their evolving relationship that leads to sharing their histories. Kudos to Piper for touching on current events through both Mara and Levi. Overall a great read that was as fun as it was serious.

I was so excited to start this book. I had read Cohen & Juliet’s story and really enjoyed it. I had felt for Levi at the end of that book, with what his wife had done. This book picks up at Cohen and Juliet’s wedding, where Mara and Levi find themselves on a locked roof. I loved this book and all of its characters. The scene where Mara tells Levi about her past and what she had gone though, I definitely shed some tears. I loved how the two of them were together, they perfectly complemented one another. Loved the epilogue!

Oh my... I couldn’t put this book down! Honey, When it Ends it perfect romance book! I loved Cohen and Juliet’s story... but seriously, I really enjoyed Levi and Mara’s more! Don’t get me wrong!!! They are equally impressive! Once you start reading, it’s like you’re right there with them! There’s just something about wounded hearts finding each other! There’s so much chemistry and sweet trust! I love Piper Lennon’s writing, It’s magical! Can’t wait for Silas’s story! You have to read this book! If you haven’t read Darling, All at Once... read it first! You won’t be disappointed!!!
Mara has had it rough. With junkies as parents, she’s learned to guard her heart. So much so that she keeps it under lock and key behind a brick wall. It’s better that way, right?
Levi didn’t have the most conventional upbringing. Between his hippie mom and junkie dad he’s been trying to figure out what he wants in life. He thought he had it with his wife, but she broke his heart – twice – and now he’s trying to find his new normal. When Mara comes into his life he thinks he might have found what he’s been looking for. But can he get past her defenses?
Book 2 in the series, Levi is Cohen's older brother who is recently divorced. He is a bit lost. He worked so hard for everything he had and his wife was cheating on him even when they tried to work it out she continued to cheat. he doesn't really know who he is anymore. One night with Mara at Juliet and Cohen's wedding, neither looking for a relationship the heat takes over. Suddenly Mara is at his door looking for a room to rent. I love their spark and how they help heal each other. Great read.
This is is the second book in the Fairfields series but is read as a standalone. Talk about sexy, Mara and Levy will have your Kindle on fire. Roommates they are and soulmates they aren't. A shattered heart, no commitment, no room for love but one night changed everything. Emotional and heartwarming. No shortage of steam. No cliffhanger and an HEA. Well written with strong characters and an engaging story. I read a reader copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review.
Really good book about Levi and Mara---you know these 2; Levi is Cohen's brother and Mara is Juliet's former roomie. These two connect at Cohen and Juliet's wedding and end being roomies themselves, as well as lovers for a little while. But of course one being jaded and the other having had their heart broken does not make for an easy romance. Fast read that really held my attention, plus really good sexy-times scenes. Solid 4.5 stars
Piper Lennox opens a world of hurting people who find soulmates. A deep dive into how the hurts of the past affect who we are today and then how to move forward. While this may seem deep and it is the journey dhe takes us on is also one of joy and laughter. read and enjoy!

I picked up Honey, When It Ends right after reading the first Fairfields book. I adored that first book and I was hoping the second would be just as good. I liked Levi & Mara's story. It was sexy and sweet with some tension rolled in. I didn't quite love it as much as the first, but close. I think I've found a new author I want to explore even more from.
Wow. Lots of feels. I felt connected to each of the characters and the hardships they had been through and were still dealing with. One night turns into so much more. Opposites in many ways, Levi and Mara are perfect together. A sweet story with many ups and downs but works itself out the way it should. Really enjoyed it.
I totally loved this book! I loved Cohen and his story but Levi is definitely my favorite!! Mara is a badass chick that doesn't do relationships and Levi is a broken man who still somehow believes in love. They are a perfect pair! All the feels are in this one in all the right ways. Loved it! The narration is perfect!!
I enjoyed book 2 and getting to know Levi and Mara. One thing that kind of bothered me was that I felt like the Levi from book 1 and the Levi from book 2 were 2 different people. This could be because 2 years had passed though but it was just a bug change for me. I still really liked it though.
Mara and Levi: I liked this couple too. Just like with Cohen and Juliet's story, there's a down to earth quality to the book. I liked how there's such a well developed back story to both Mara and Levi's life. I also liked how the relationship developed and how they grew past their past.
Really liked the story behind this . How mara had a broke up family which you don't often read about . I loved how the flash backs were wrote as Well . Levi was nice that ex's can be nice to each other .
This was a bit boring. It took me a long time to listen because I just couldn’t stay engaged. I over the first book in the series and I thought this one would be good too.
Great story of Levi and Mara. Two people who you would never think would get together, find eachother and everything makes sense. Mara really transformed Levi in to the man he always wanted to be but lost sight of. Great read. Loved their story.
Loved Mara & Levi's story. This was an intriguing story for me. At times I couldn't put it down. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for an arc of the book.
Levi has had a rough couple of years. First he finds out his wife cheated on him not once but multiple times which leads to a divorce. Business as slowed down and now he is need of a roommate to help pay the bills. While at his brothers wedding he runs into someone again after her popping in and out of his memory over the last year and his life takes another turn but this time it’s not just for the worse.
Mara is set in her ways. She doesn’t believe in relationships or anything more than a one night stand. When she runs into Levi on the roof of Acre’s at her friends wedding she decides to go for the one thing she has wanted ever since she met him a year ago, just one night with him. The next morning when she arrives home she not only gets the shock of her life but is faced with a harsh reality.
When we first meet these two in Darling, All at Once (The Fairfields book 1) I was on the fence about Levi but this story, their story has changed that for sure. Mara is stubborn as heck and Levi has lost his playful side. These two seem like oil and water in the beginning but by the end you can clearly see they are so much more!! I hope to see more of these two soon!! 🖤🖤
