The Apache

The Apache are perhaps most noted for such fierce leaders as Cochise and Geronimo. Their name, which comes from the Yuma Indian word for "fighting men," bears that out. The Apache tribe is composed of six regional Western Apache, Chiricahua, Mescalero, Jicarilla, Lipan, and Kiowa Apache.
