Intense and thought provoking, this book gave me a visceral response throughout reading it. Gutman shows his skill in creating an empathetic character and a thrilling story, while also combining elements reminscent of Philip K. Dick or David Lynch. Surreal, sad, and beautiful- this book had me invested through the very end.
Content warning for sensitive readers- there is sex, drug use, and violence.

Spark was an enthralling and compelling story that wraps you in the anxiety of its characters. It's a simple read, in that it doesn't contain any gross filler content, but rather gets to the drama, action, and thrilling components almost instantaneously. It was a gripping story that was hard to put down and can be enjoyed many times over.
