When Molly Bennet’s mom gets a new job as a housekeeper to a rich guy in New York City, Molly figures it’s the perfect opportunity for her to escape her past and start over. But when she learns she’ll be living in the same house with his four hot sons, her world spins upside down.
Meet the Smith boys: Clove, the player who’s constantly whispering words in her ear that make her knees go weak. Ken, the cold, distant one whom Molly is determined to break down his walls and reach the sensitive guy inside. Bernie, the sweet guy who blushes every time their eyes meet. And Sid, the guy who always makes her laugh.
Molly finds herself falling for all of them. But how is it possible for her to have feelings for four guys at once? And when her past comes to haunt her, can Molly find it in herself to be the strong person the Smith boys believe she is?
Mia Belle is the author of the YA contemporary romance series, The Boys Who Loved Me, Boys Next Door, Rich Boys Poor Girl, and The Bullies Who Loved Me. She's hard at work on her next book.
I feel like the plotline of this story doesn't match up with the personalities of the characters.
Molly has been facing a hard time at school due to a scandal when her mother finds a new job in a new state. With the chance to start over, Molly decides to focus on school. However, she doesn't account for the four boys she will be moving in with. Each of them bring something to the table and she is curious about them.
Molly was accused of having a relationship with one of her teachers. The accusations turned out to be false, but she did had to deal with the effects. She was called all kinds of names and had pictures plastered all over social media. My thoughts are that if she felt so bad about being called a slut (even if it wasn't true), she wouldn't exactly entertain the notion of kissing (or more) with several guys. It doesn't seem like a logical plot.
This story is told from multiple POV's. You get it from Molly and well as from each of the guys. I'm not really sure how I feel about the guys, especially Clove. He seems like a very selfish guy (almost like a bully), but he does a complete 180 at the end. There was no build up to his change, just one day he decided to change (and the story is only a few days time line wise).
Overall, I think it has the potential to be a good story. I'm interested to see what will happen in the next one since this ended on a cliffhanger. Not sure I would recommend it exactly though.
DNF 14% I wanted so much to like this book, but the writing style just wasn’t for me. The author put so much emphasis on certain things and would repeat them over and over. Like I swear, we had to have heard about Ken’s hair like thirty times already! Plus certain scenes just came off awkward and immature. I just couldn’t get into it.
This is probably my first? Actually second book that I’ve read where the female protagonist falls for a few people and actually gets them. It was extremely weird at first because I can’t fathom how someone would be able to share the person they love with others, which they don’t feel attracted to. But I guess I’m accepting it now :)
Firstly, I feel that Molly’s whole back story was a little weird. If her photoshopped pictures were spread around the school and people were actually bullying her openly, I don’t see how her parents/ any adults wouldn’t have noticed. To add on, she was called a ‘slut’ and many other names, all to show that she sleeps around. But upon moving to the house, she falls in love with a few men and kissed them. Since the guys didn’t know about her kisses with each of them, I thought of it as cheating.
All of them had tragic pasts and I felt that it was wayy too much. If one or two of them had a miserable and sad childhood, I would’ve better understood and enjoyed it. But, in this book, there were so many problems and past events that sort of shaped the characters, and some are still refusing to talk about it, which frustrates me. The personalities of Ken, Sid, Clove and Bernie were all pretty sweet but Clove’s sudden personality change was just too quickly mentioned and not well elaborated. I couldn’t clearly see when he started liking her as a person and not just some conquest he wanted to have.
Well, even after all of this, it was just written in a way that makes it addicting so I’ll be reading the next book :)
Omg! This story was pretty great. I loved the pace and the characters! Molly is running away from her past and trying to start over with the help of her mom getting a new job as a housekeeper. There she meets 4 handsome troubled guys who each show her how amazing they are underneath. The ending just gets me because it was just getting good! Now I need to see where it goes from there. Shelly was a total mean girl and I didn't like her and her click at all.
For me, reading reverse-harem stories are about fantastical forbidden love, extreme acceptance, and experiencing various diverse situations that I would never attempt in real life. This story is so much more than that. It is sweet from beginning to end. I fell in love with Molly, the protagonist, and simply want her to find happiness in every aspect of her life especially with the four complex boys living under the same roof.
3 1/2* I have mixed emotions about this book.. as much as I loved the story. The interactions with each other seemed so forced.. Molly talked like an old lady half the time and Sid tho portrayed as the joker was awkward and boring, Clove seemed like a sociopath (literally couldn't stand him) Bernie was god damn adorable but couldn't stand the way Molly just ignores him for clove and Ken as miserable as he is i absolutely loved.. so I'm a bit mixed :/
I'm a fan of contemporary reverse harems and the plot was interesting enough to get into but I just couldn't connect with characters. All the boys kind of annoyed me to the point I almost couldn't finish. I'm not sure if it was the writing style or I just wasn't connecting with the boys of the story but I'm not sure I'll be reading the follow up.
At first I was really iffy on this book, especially since it is about high school students. I was pleasantly surprised by the plot and characters! I do wish Bernie had a stronger connection, so hopefully we’ll see that in the next book! Thank you for writing :)
Good read about tortured souls finding their way together
A high school girl moves away from her home to get away from demons and moves into a home with four boys all with their own demons. It was good story and I'm interested to find out what happens next. Not crazy, but believable for a 16 year old girl which is nice.
Ken was interesting. But the characters were immature. I really didn’t like how they wanted to Win Molly. I didn’t like how open the adoptive father was about the boys past. That should be up to the boys to let people know Bernie I felt got the short end of the stick. There wasn’t love there. There was no maturity for love.
A lovely contemporary reverse harem. We get to know a bit about all the characters and how their pasts, although we don’t get all the details, have helped shape them into being who they are. Love the POVs from all the guys and molly. A great star with lots of potential.
This is a good start for what has the potential to be a great RH series. I like the dynamics. My one complaint is that the guys seem a little too whiney. I can't wait to see how the characters evolve.
I like the book and want to know what happens next. Story starts and develops a little slow and just when it’s getting good it ends!i hope I can read the second parts soon.
I loved it....but I can’t with these cliffhangers....I loved how you ended it. I just genuinely enjoyed your book. Please write another I need to know how this Ends. OH THE CURIOSITY IS SLOWLY KILLING ME !!!!!
I loved this book and looking forward to more from Mia. The characters were diverse and the depth of their personalities really drew me in. I don’t write reviews often, but I couldn’t put this book down till I had finished it! Can’t wait for book 2!
It was over so fast. I do not see why she is even attracted to Clove except for a bad boy fix. You do not get to see enough of their personalities in this story. It was just a bit underwhelming really.
So this book was a nice light read. I really enjoyed getting to know all of the boys and what they thought. Typically I dislike cliffhangers but I am still wanting to know what happens next in this book if there is one.
A very sweet beginning to a love story...Teenagers growing up an having to deal with the harsh realities of life...learning to help each other as they come into their own.
Meet Molly.. Things have been tough for her, but she's moving to a new city, with her mum to start a fresh. We meet Winston, head of the household who has four sons.. Ken, Sid, Bernie, and Clove. Things are about to get interesting :)
What a great but unfortunately true story about the cruel behavior in the world. I like that this story was more than a girl figuring out her hormones. Look forward to book 2
Is book 📖 was really good , I have only give it 4 🌟 because it was a like slow in the beginning but once you got past the first few chapters it got a hell of a lot better and I really really enjoyed it 😊
Not entirely sure how I feel about this one but I think it's because my personal preference is single POV not multiple across the whole book. Going to read the next one to see if I can come to a decision;)
The Boys Who Loved Me was a slightly boring book about a girl and her mom who go to live with a man and his four sons. The mom is in charge of cleaning the house, while Molly, her daughter, befriends the boys. I just didn't find this book to be very interesting and I would not reccomend it.
Poor a little boys and their male egos can’t handle rejection 🙄 snobby little girls the only wanna be friends with girls to get them with the boys can’t handle rejection🤯
Liked the book. Takes some time to great the characters personality . Hope the story continues and see how the group learn to build a family group and build resiliency
