4.5 stars.

Six books in and Katie Reus seriously upped the anti for Leighton‘s story as he and pretty much all the ladies and gents from Redemption Harbor Consulting, head off to New Orleans to play their part in the demise of Alexei Kuznetsov.

description ...she was related to a monster.”

What Leighton doesn’t expect is to fall head over heels for the bad guy’s niece, Lucy Carreras which he soon does as the guys do what they do best, battling the bad guys, rescuing folk and blowing crap up.

description The one thing he knew without a doubt was that he would keep her safe no matter what it took.”

This is hands down my favourite of the series so far and with passion, feeling and humour, Katie Reus delivers a good dose of romance amongst the action as Leighton and Lucy grow closer. Looking forward to seeing what #7, Chasing Vengeance holds in store in the Spring.

Covert Games by Katie Reus

6th book in the Redemption Harbor series. Romantic suspense.
This is Leighton’s story.
Not really best as a standalone, although it could be, because almost all the characters from the previous books are part of this rescue mission.

I love the writing style of this author. The action is fast, the characters have depth including secondary ones, and the sex and relationship building is hot and steamy.
You’ll never forget in this series, that Leighton is the one with the sad eyes.
Gallantry and dry humor abound.
Fair warning: lots of swearing.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy for sharing.

5 - "We are meant to be…" Stars!

Book six in the Redemption Harbor series finally gives us Leighton Cannon’s story. although initially a suspect it doesn’t take long for Luciana Carreras to work her way into his heart.

The man was sexy... and she liked that he was taking charge.

Covert Games takes us and the Redemption Harbor team to New Orleans, after Leighton is given information which leads him and the rest of them to believe that the time is potentially right for the FBI to finally take down old adversary Alexei Kuznetsov.

Lucy Carreras had gotten under his skin…

Only problem being is that those potentially caught in the crossfire through no fault of their own, are also considered expendable to the FBI when looking at the bigger picture, including his niece Lucy. Something Leighton is quick to decide he isn’t going to let happen

"When you know… you know. If she’s it for you don’t fight it."

I loved this couple together, and although a lot of action takes place around them, Katie as usual kept the romance and timing of it relevant in the way the storyline played out. The rest of the crew are heavily involved in the action on this one as well, and I just find myself liking them all more and more as the series grows and more characters are added.

She was seriously hooked on this man…

Katie also manages to inject humor into the story as well, which lightened up what could have ultimately been quite a dark story with the themes and tropes that are used in its telling. And the alpha awesomeness that is Leighton just balanced everything out perfectly for me.

"I want you more than any woman… Ever. I don’t want you to regret me."

Another outstanding addition to the series in general, and I cannot wait for the next book; Chasing Vengeance to be released in April.

Covert Games is Leighton and Lucy's story and my favorite out of the series. I love that the whole team was involved with this latest mission involving sex trafficking and a former enemy they have been keeping an eye on.

Leighton has always been intriguing to me. He has always felt like he was struggling with things from his past and just wasn't truly happy. The way he reacts to Lucy and then how he treats her, it made me melt for him more. I love that despite how much he struggled with his past, he never let that get in his way of falling for Lucy and how proactive he was of her.

Lucy was such a strong character. My heart broke for her when I learned about her parents. She was a heroine I could like and agreed with how she handled things. She was perfect for Leighton and I loved them together.

Since the whole team was involved in Leighton and Lucy's story, we got to see more of how awesome Skye is. That woman is funny and a true warrior.

"Fight for the fairy tale. It exists."

Katie Reus is a “got to” author for me. I never have to worry about being disappointed. She writes the type of H & h I like, with a good amount of action and supporting characters. Having read Resurrection Resurrection (Redemption Harbor #1) by Katie Reus , I had an idea what the Redemption Harbor books were about, but (truthfully) I am currently not up to date with this series. Nonetheless, this did not take away any of my enjoyment from this book. Sure, I was a little confused getting all of the supporting characters straight in my head, being since the MCs from previous books helped with this mission. However, I was able to figure it out, and even found myself eager to read many of the previous books I had missed.

Ok… so back to it! Covert Games

This is book 6 in the series, and begins with our Hero, Leighton Cannon. And I gotta say, I like the name Leighton. Very unique and different compared to most H names like Alex, Cole, Colt, Zack, Ryker, Hawke, and on & on…

Leighton takes on a case from an old FBI friend. Basically, the friend’s neighbor is in debt to a big-time crime lord named, Alexei Kuznetsov. As payment, Alexei (or one of his minions) took the beautiful daughter for his sex trafficking exploits. Alexei, being the shrewd businessman, works these women through his own hotels & casino. Basically he provides the supply (women being held against their will) and the place (hotels). Now all Leighton and his crew need to do is figure out at which hotel the women are being held in order to do a snatch and grab.

This is where our h comes in, Lucy Carreras. Lucy is Alexei’s niece who manages The Sapphire, an all encompassing hotel and casino. Unlike the uncle who raised her, Lucy has morals. And these shady operations are being performed right under her nose.

But Leighton and his crew don’t know where she stand’s in her uncle’s unethical organization, and approach with caution. Due to some cleverly placed clues by Katie Reus, they soon find out that Lucy is not the enemy they once thought.

Leighton and Lucy have an instant attraction to one another. Once the air is cleared, and suspicions are cast aside, the attraction turns into an insta-like before quickly sliding into insta-love. But love doesn't negate the fact that they have one big obstacle between them, Alexei. Although the steam factor was present, I would have liked to have seen more… something.

She seemed to complete him, and he seemed to complete her. Leighton was the night in shinning armor, and Lucy was the damsel in distress. I guess I just wanted a little bit more banter or chemistry. However, you can’t help but fall in love with Leighton and Lucy together. Despite his difficult past, he’s tender. Despite her lonely history, she’s loving. Leighton’s strength, and Lucy’s courage are melt in your mouth good for this charming easy read romance.

The mission was well thought out and executed. It kept me entertained and thoughtful. I never was 100% sure how things would pan out, although I did have some dead-on suspicions. As always, I enjoyed the epilogue. I truly believe all romance books should have one. And the deleted scene was a nice touch. I’m glad it didn’t go to waste, and that the author provided it for us to read as we so choose.

ARC provided by NetGalley. All thoughts are mine and mine alone.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Covert Games is the sixth installment of the Redemption Harbor series. In it, you will meet Leighton and Lucy. Their relationship started off being a seduction mission. However, things quickly backfire on Leighton due to him actually developing feelings for Lucy. Unexpected and unintentional, he can't really do anything about it now. Well, other than letter Lucy now about the mission I guess.

I will admit that their relationship did feel a bit insta to me. However, it was highly enjoyable. Each character was likable, strong, and independent. It was hard not shipping them together because they seemed perfect for one another.

Besides them, the action/drama/romance were everything. I couldn't put this book down because I wanted to know how this whole mission was going to end. The twists and turns were good too!! I saw some coming but others were intriguing.

Another thing I liked was getting to see and know more about this team. How each member worked so well together made this quite enjoyable. I can't wait for the next book to come out!

Re-Read was via audiobook: Narrator - Sophie Eastlake

Ms. Eastlake does a great job of both male and female voices which is where I usually have a problem. However, she pulls both off with amazing talent as well as adding more depth to a story I had previously read.

Another awesome installment in this series. Filled with action and suspense with plenty of steamy goodness and some romance to round it all out.

I loved Lucy and her desire to help in what she believes to be a case of sexual trafficking. She grew up a bit broken but still taken care of. When Leighton enters her life she is attracted to him but knows it can’t be more than a temporary thing. Unfortunately, she learns some disturbing news and her world as she has always known it implodes.

Leighton is struggling with memories from his time in the Marines. His work has him crossing paths with Lucy and he’s unsure where she stands within her uncle’s organization. There are clues along the way but when he finally meets her and can sense her desire to help a woman in need he realizes that she’s an innocent among the wolves.

This has a few triggers you might want to check out if something bothers you. It’s a fast read with a good look at all the characters we’ve met along the way, although I believe it can be read as a standalone. The steam is intense and the chemistry between the hero and heroine, while not the center of the story, was still believable. However, I would’ve liked to seen them as a couple more. The case they are working on was well developed and I enjoyed watching everything unfold in both that and between Leighton and Lucy.

This ends with a sweet epilogue and a deleted scene that I appreciated having access to as it definitely shows a bit more of Leighton and what he has faced in the past. Overall, while not my favorite of the series, it was still a very good read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve noticed a trend with the Redemption Harbor series thus far: each time there’s a new release, I eagerly get to it, starting out voraciously until my excitement peters out towards the middle when the peaks and troughs seem a little glossed over. At least, it has been happening with this series of books; it’s like an endless hoping for the book to be a good one based on the exciting blurb, only for it to go somewhat flat by the end.

‘Covert Games’ is a fraternising-with-the-enemy-type of read, though Katie Reus doesn’t quite get the drama overblown at all. There’s always the sense that things are reined in before the deception between the protagonists gets far gone or before the story gets turned into an angst-heavy kind of drama (the adulting in this however, is a plus point), though the instant love/lust came inexplicably out of nowhere between Leighton and Luciana.

Reus does deal with some heavy topics here and these do take priority in the story—it’s the suspense at least, that drives it along. Which might make the romance feel a little more incidental. There are some things in Leighton’s past that make him detached, but it’s not quite explored thoroughly and Luciana’s own childhood fears and suspicions are dealt with in a stroke of sorts in a defining incident that suddenly puts her on the opposing side of it all.

‘Covert Games’ isn’t a bad read at all, I’ll have to say. But this holding pattern of ‘starting high, tapering off’ is something I’m still hoping to break (endless optimism much?) with the next one to come.

The Redemption Harbor Consulting team finally have a way to take down their enemy Alexei Kuznetsov and all Leighton needs to do is get close to the man's daughter, Lucy Carreras. COVERT GAMES jumps right into the action with Leighton going undercover at Lucy's hotel and casino to find and stop a human trafficking ring. He wants to believe that Lucy has nothing to do with her father's life of crime but he can't let his emotions get in the way of the mission.

Since returning home from the military, Leighton has kept things close to the chest and the team is worried about his emotional well being. I really liked Leighton even though he's been a bit of a mystery throughout the series so far. Like the rest of the RHC men, he's protective, smart, and dedicated to finding justice for those who need it. I also liked how he sees Lucy for who she really is and he never doubts her.

Lucy is also a great character and while she's spent most of her adulthood dedicated to her work, she can't resist Leighton. I enjoyed how sweet and compassionate Lucy is though she's a bit naïve in regards to her family. The chemistry between Lucy and Leighton is obvious from the moment they meet and I liked that it was both sexy and sweet. After a few mid rated books, I was happy to see COVERT GAMES return to what I loved about the beginning of the series.

This series keeps getting better and better!
While this is part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone, although I’d recommend reading the previous books if only to enjoy how each character has found their HEA and how it affects Leighton’s views on love and life.
Lucy and Leighton’s relationship was fire from the beginning. I love it when an author is not afraid to portray consenting adults that are not afraid to act on a mutual attraction, especially when they act with respect and communication. That to me is gold in real life and my romance books. Even though Leighton wasn’t fully “honest” in the beginning (and with good reason) the attraction was real and well depicted. Lucy was smart yet sweet. She didn’t do the damsel in distress thing but knew when it was time to leave things in the hands of the experts.
The whole series in itself is engaging and suspenseful and this book didn’t vary from that premise. Here, we get to see all members of the team in action and their different roles during an operation. I think what I love the most about this series that sense of affectionate camaraderie among the members, including the women. I’ve loved all of the books but I think this is my favorite so far. Romance, suspense, action all wrapped in a nice little package. Definitely recommend.

Leighton Cannon is tracking the activities of Alexei Kuznetsov as a favor to a friend. His best chance at learning what he needs is through Kuznetsov’s niece, Lucy. He figures she will know of her uncle’s dealings and can help him find what he’s looking for. What he doesn’t count on is finding that Lucy interests him in a way he didn’t think he was capable of.

Lucy Carreras runs her uncle’s hotel, but doesn’t know Alexei Kuznetsov as anything but the man who raised her after her parent’s death. When she begins to suspect illegal activities in her hotel, Leighton confirms her fears and promises to help her dig to the bottom of it.

Both of these characters were quite likeable. Leighton has watched his teammates fall in love and never anticipated he would find that for himself. When he meets Lucy he begins to question that idea, and challenges himself to look beyond her family tree. He is honorable, protective, and solid throughout the dangerous and stressful situations the pair find themselves. Lucy is also a solid character, finding peace in working for family, in doing good. When she learns of her uncle’s activities she is shocked and has to quickly find inner strength she didn’t know she possessed.

I loved returning to Redemption Harbor (and New Orleans with the team). There was less time spent in RH itself, but there were plenty of cameos and assistance by the team members. When this story ramps up, it moves quickly and keeps rolling through scene after dangerous scene. This is another great addition to the Redemption Harbor series. Katie Reus has a solid group of characters and series arc with this set of stories that continues to entertain and engross.

I received a copy for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Lucy Carreras had gotten under his skin…

Katie Reus’ Covert Games is the latest release in her Redemption Harbor series. It is officially the sixth installment, but it works well as a stand alone read, if that is your preference. Redemption Harbor Consulting’s confounder Leighton finally gets his story told as he’s featured along with Luciana “Lucy” Carreras, the niece of RHC’s greatest adversary, Russian crime lord Alexei Kuznetsov.

As this tale opens, Leighton receives intel through an old FBI friend that Kuznetsov will shortly be brought to justice by the FBI. This same friend expresses concerns about one of Kuznetsov’s female sex trafficking victims who is believed to be located in New Orleans. The FBI won’t get involved in a rescue as doing so would sabotage their planned takedown. So, she asks Leighton to rescue her.

The team quickly mobilizes to find, snatch and save that one woman. But, as they receive more information, they expand their search and rescue to include as many of Kuznetsov’s unwilling victims as they can before they get caught in the crossfire. To do so, the team plans to use the current manager of The Sapphire, Kuznetsov’s hotel and casino complex in New Orleans to get inside his operation. That manager is Lucy, Kuznetsov’s niece. Left unanswered is whether Lucy is her uncle’s willing accomplice or if she’s not cognizant of his illegal and immoral activities. What Leighton doesn’t count on is being blindsided by the sparks that fly between him and Lucy.

Leighton and Lucy are both wonderful characters. Leighton is lonely and surrounded by other team members who have found their own love interests. Sadly, Leighton feels that he is doomed to never find love. So, when he first meets Lucy and is instantly attracted to her, he’s very tender and sweet with her. His alpha nature quickly comes to the forefront as he vows to protect her at any cost.

Unlike her uncle, Lucy has morals and is a kind, warm-hearted soul. My heart broke for her when she discovered that she’d been misled regarding her parents’ deaths. Leighton was her rock during this traumatic time. I really loved the steamy chemistry between them, and the caring, courageous natures that this couple exhibit. If I had any complaint, it would be that I’d have liked to have seen more to make them insta-like then insta-love so rapidly. But, heck, their relationship worked well with this story and I had no trouble just going with it.

The whole team is involved in this mission. As a fan, it’s a treat anytime I can catch up with them - especially Skye, who was half of the couple who kicked off this series. She’s still kickass and a bit crazy, but she’s also funny, competent and has most assuredly found her perfect niche with the team.

Following please find a few of my favorite lines from Covert Games:

"I want you more than any woman… Ever."
---
“Kiss me,” she softly demanded, her eyes flaring with heat and hunger. For him.
---
"Fight for the fairy tale. It exists."
---
"When you know… you know. If she’s it for you, don’t fight it."

Katie is one of my favorite authors. Her books are always entertaining reads. She’s a must-read for me so as soon as I see she’s had a new release, I pick it up. Covert Games is an outstanding addition to Katie’s Redemption Harbor series. It’s teeming with romance, gripping suspense, surprising twists, fast-paced action, humor and danger at every turn! I can’t wait for the next book, Chasing Vengeance, to be released in April 2019!

Review to come!I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to write this review since 2018 sadly ended with a thud. I found myself in a bit of a rut and turned to comfort reads to snap me out of it. Unfortunately, even that didn’t work at first. Then I snagged Covert Games, the next book in the Redemption Harbor Series. This series usually provides me the action I need with a good dose of romance. The last book wasn’t quite what I wanted it to be but was still a decent read, so I crossed my fingers and dove in.

The suspense started right away when Hazel, our favorite FBI agent, visited Leighton with a request. A young woman needed saving from a trafficking ring and she couldn’t help her because of an active investigation. This is the kind of plot I love but making things even more interesting was the head of this trafficking ring is none other than Kuznetsov, the Russian kingpin the Redemption Harbor crew has tangled with before.

This was a tricky operation since the Redemption Harbor crew had a shaky truce with this guy. If he found out they were working against him, it could be devastating for the group. But they couldn’t stand by and let innocent women be trafficked, so they dove right in.

Leighton was the only one who could go in undercover. This worked out perfectly since the bad guy’s niece, Lucy, pushed all his buttons in a good way and although she had great business sense, she was clueless to what her evil uncle was up to. And maybe I should italicize the word clueless because he was running a sex trafficking operation through her hotel and she never noticed (insert eye roll here).

But, since the rest of the story was working for me, I pushed it aside and kept on reading. A good call because it was such a good read. There was a lot of action with the whole crew involved which was fun—especially when Skye came onto the page. She not only can take care of business, she cracks me up while she’s doing it.

As much as I loved time spent with the whole crew, I think Leighton got short-changed a bit. I learned a lot about Lucy and I really liked her, but I felt like we only hit the surface of everything Leighton could have been. Granted, it was all good, but I wanted more.

Other than a couple of obvious situations that skirted TSTL, I thoroughly enjoyed Covert Games. It had the action and suspense I crave with the sexiness I adore, and humor to keep things even more interesting.

Covert Games is book six in the Redemption Harbor series by Katie Reus and we finally get Leighton Cannon’s story. Leighton and the team are given what seems to be a legit tip about girls being held hostage. Leighton knows the way to take down the man who is holding the girls hostage is through the man's beautiful niece, Lucy. Hotel/casino manager Luciana Carreras is the niece of a dangerous wealthy man with many criminal enterprises she knows nothing about. Her uncle raised her after the murder/suicide of her parents when she was thirteen. She is very close to her uncle's younger daughter who he has put into boarding school. Her uncle is not a loving, kind person but he did take her in after the death of her parents. Lucy works for her uncle at a hotel in New Orleans. She suspects something bad is going on and has started an investigation on her own. What she isn't expecting is Spencer Johnson, a patron of the hotel, is doing an investigation, too. The difference between the two of them is that Spencer knows what's going on and he and the Redemption Harbor posse are there to rescue girls who are involved with human trafficking against their wills. But the thing is Spencer is really Leighton and he is torn because he finds himself attracted to Lucy and doesn't know where she fits into the mess that is going on in New Orleans. Leighton comes clean with Lucy in a fast fashion, especially when he finds out that she could be a target of her uncle for her uncle is bad news and someone that will kill first and ask questions last. Being a target of her uncle is a pretty bad place to be at. Lucy's life is turned upside down and she isn't sure why her life is like this, especially when she finds out some earth shattering news involving Leighton. They have this intense chemistry that steamed up the pages. Lucy is a sweet, honest, kind and thoughtful person who does good things. What will happen when she finds out that Leighton thought at first she was just as deep into evil mess as her uncle ? Can their relationship recover? Can Leighton protect Lucy from harm ? Will the Redemption Harbor posse along with Leighton get all the bad guys rounded up ? To find out, you have to read this exciting addition to the Redemption series.

This is the sixth book in the redemption harbor series. Leighton and the team are given a tip about a girls being held. Leighton knows the way to take down the man who is holding them is through the man's niece, Lucy. Lucy runs her uncles casino and hotel completely unaware of the type of man he is. When she meets Leighton, she learns things about her uncle that make her see him completely different. She and Leighton along with the team make it their mission to take down her uncle all the while Leighton and Lucy are falling for each other.

*I received a free copy of Covert Games via NetGalley. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.*

Covert Games was a very fast paced romantic suspense, and I enjoyed the characters, the plot and the story very much. I might have enjoyed it even more if I had read the prior books in the series - but I also didn't feel lost.

The writing was outstanding, and the way the plot unfolded kept me at the edge of my seat.

Katie Reus is a “go to author” for me when I’m in the mood for an alpha protective good guy hero who will do anything for his lady love. Yeah, that includes putting his life and heart on the line, folks. To complete the package, she always throws in for free a sassy heroine worthy of such manliness. This go around we are given a criminal human trafficking backdrop that results in blood and bullets flying as these two team up with Leighton’s posse of Delta Force like mercenary buddies who try to right this terrible wrong.

Overall, I did really enjoy this stand-alone, sixth edition to the series, with one minor comment regarding something I’ve seen as a repeating pattern in these books. Maybe it’s because I read early ARC versions that may or may not be edited again before final release, but I felt a time or two the smexy scenes between these two could have used some conversational tweaking. No, I didn’t say twerking, because that would definitely be weird.

The first graphic intimate encounter in particular just felt..off. Honestly, it was because the conversation felt awkward and unnatural. You just wouldn’t blurt out what Leighton said as casually as if he just asked Lucy to pass him the salt. Instead of finding it shockingly sexy, it was a “say what?” moment. I actually reread some of my other reviews of the previous books and found I had made similar comments. I guess you could say I expect my characters to always stay in character. With these guys that means cool and classy all the time.

All that aside, because it may not even register on other people’s radar, I did stay completely riveted to the unfolding, perilous plot and didn’t really mind the romance time being shared with the crime stopping element. Afterall, these two lovebirds were in this together, folks.

5 Star Review of Covert Games (Redemption Harbour #6) by Katie Reus
Although book 6 in the series, you can read as a stand alone. In fact I think I have a couple to read to catch me up on the series, This is co founder of Redemption Harbour Consulting Leighton and Lucy’s story and what a story it is. This story brings together the whole team and although I have not read all of the previous books it does not detract from the enjoyment of reading Covert Games.
Lucy is running her uncle Alexei Kuznetsov’s hotel and is horrified when she discovers that he is involved in illegal activities. Leighton is not so sure that Lucy is an innocent, but eventually comes to realize she is is and they ask for her help. Now Lucy will stop at nothing to help Leighton bring her uncle to justice.
The chemistry between Leighton and Lucy smoulders to a point that they can no longer ignore it. What will happen when Alexei discovers Lucy’s involvement with Leighton and RHC? Covert Games is an extremely well written story with a great deal of action, suspense, danger, betrayal romance and passion.
From chapter one Katie Reus had me engaged, I really didn’t want to put this one down as I found myself invested in what was happening to Leighton and Lucy. I loved them both individually and as a couple and I cannot wait to see what Ms.Reus has in store next for the members of Redemption Harbour Consulting.

A sensational new Redemption Harbor novel that readers can really sink their teeth into. As the niece of Redemption Harbor Consulting’s greatest enemy, she was supposed to be the means to an end but Leighton didn’t count on her making his blood boil and making him want things that he doesn’t deserve with someone he can’t have. Leighton and Lucy are two very strong, compelling characters that grab hold and refuse to let go as the suspense and tension build throughout the story. The chemistry is electrical and there is no denying the magnetic attraction between this couple but there are lots obstacles hindering this romance, so this relationship is one that defies the odds and brings the empathy out in readers as they hope that Leighton and Lucy can overcome those obstacles and achieve a happily ever after.

The fast paced and smooth flowing plot holds readers in thrall from beginning to end with lots of thrilling suspense and sense of expectation and danger. The suspense builds as Lucy begins to learn just how evil her Uncle is and she joins forces with Leighton and the team to take Alexei down but the closer they get the more deadly the storm hurtling toward them becomes. There was no way that I could put this story down once I started reading it, the characters are engaging and the story is one suspenseful event after the other.

Covert Games is another terrific action packed romantic suspense from Katie Reus. The gang is all here now to take down one of their biggest enemies. Caught in the crossfire is his niece, is she or isn't she involved? The gang is really good at the missions and objectives with a plan B in case. It's so much fun to read and see it all play out. The author saved the best for last, this one had it all.

Leighton is pretty complex and unsettled in a way, the insight here makes much more sense. He's still dealing with his past but it doesn't affect how he does things now. Especially with such a complicated case now that Lucy caught his eye. He built something with her and it evovled. He was caring and protective yet still sweet and patient. Lucy was a strong heroine that I liked she may not be trained like the others but her heart means well. She stood by her guy and even with reveals she was steady.

The team works so seamlessly together, the rapport is always a enjoyable one. Kickass ladies and gents.I don't know if this is the last of the books, I hope not, the writing is strong and well told. I look forward to more books by Katie.

In this story, RHC is after a Russian kingpin who amongst other things he does is traffic women. A friend of the group came to Leighton saying that this Russian took her eldest daughter because of her husband. Now Leighton and the team must come up with a plan to find her and bring her home. Their first order business is to go to the hotel that some of the women have been seen at. It is there that they must find out whether Lucy Carreras who runs the hotel-casino is also part of her uncle’s organization or not. Once they find out she is not the story really begins to take off. Especially between her and Leighton who has taken the lead in this story. With a lot of twists and turns to get to the end, it is a good read. Even though you know how the bad guys are there are a few surprises, and plenty of action to keep this story moving along. Once you get to the end you are sad the story is over, but wait the author has put the prologue at the end of the book. This takes you back to when Leighton was a Marine and on one of his missions. Very good touch and I am glad the author did it this way. A very good book. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

Redemption Harbor Consulting is trying to rescue a young woman forced into prostitution. Crime boss Alex Kuznetsov is the ring leader of the prostitution ring. He also has his hand in all sorts of criminal enterprises. His niece Luciana works at his casino. Is she aware of her Uncles activities? Leighton is sent in undercover to locate the young woman and rescue her along with the other women being forced into prostitution. Leighton and Luciana are attracted to each other, but is there a future for them. Meanwhile the FBI has Kuznetsov in their sights.

This is part of the Redemption Harbor series but could be read as a stand alone. There is suspense and steamy romance in this book. I enjoyed seeing characters from previous books again and I look forward to reading other books in this series. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

A big thank you to NetGalley and KR Press LLC for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series (the last book?) And I have not read all the others. This reads well as a stand alone. This is Leighton and Lucy's story, and boy is there suspense. Fun fast paced story. Her uncle is a very very bad man. I rate this 4 stars. If you like suspense and romance- give this a try.

This was an excellent story!! I enjoyed this story so much I was sad to see it end. The characters are real to life, the story will keep you on the edge of your seat biting your nails and the romance will heat up your kindle. I loved all the action and danger with the romance. I'll definitely be checking out more stories by Katie Reus. I highly recommend!

Another great addition to our Redemption Harbor family. Leighton ( his name still reminds me of Gossip Girl! ) finally gets his girl! Yippee! I always thought he is more of a laid back law abiding alpha but hes pretty badass! I love it when its like good vs bad or romeo & juliet-esque makes it that much more satisfying in the end.
