It was early 2019 that I discovered Nicole's writings on her Instagram page. Soon, I became a fan of her words. Her little poems became my comfort and solace. This naturally made me have high hopes and expectations for her book and I'm more than happy to say that I wasn't let down.
Every single piece, regardless of whether it's short or long is laced with raw emotions and stunning imagery. Nicole has touched on important and relevant topics such as love, heartbreak, self love and growth in this book which I believe are relatable to most of us. There were several pieces that resonated with me so deeply and I personally believe that being able to read someone else's writings and relate to them is an amazing feeling.
Nicole's style of poetry is simple and beautiful which I know many readers will love and appreciate. I know I did.
Chasing Euphoria is an amazingly beautiful book filled with soulful poems; to say it simply, it's a piece of the author's heart and soul. I can't wait to read more of Nicole's works. Since this is her debut book, I know that she'll only get better as her writing journey progresses. She is incredibly talented and truly has an amazing way with words, and all that is evidently displayed on the pages of her book.
Just to show how magical her writings are, here's one of my favourites pieces from this book:
"dancing in evening stock breezes paired wit lavender clouds that could take your breath away with junebug symphonies dancing inside my head
when you let me fall asleep on your shoulder with such ease
these are the memories i cling to this is what's left of us"
If you enjoy poetry and love supporting talented young poets, please give this book a chance.

I loved this poetry book so much. It had so many beautiful pieces in it and it was obvious the poet put her heart and soul into it. She writes about many topics, love, heartache, loneliness, self growth through manifestation, etc... It has a very earthy and natural beauty to it as you can see below...
“i rose sage back from the dead, the cinnamon was manifesting; looking down before i knew it, i saw myself blooming.”
“i gather up the stars in the sky and hide them where my heart was after you left”
She describes things in a magical way that brings a smile to your face or brings tears to your eyes. She makes diving into to imagery easy.
This was an absolutely beautiful collection of poetry with important messages throughout. Nicole has a magical way with words and her imagery is stunning. Even in her shorter poems, her words are always powerful and impactful.
The only reason I'm giving this 4.5 stars is because there were certain words that felt a little overused and repetitive, and I would've loved to see some new word choices occasionally!
But overall, an excellent debut poetry collection that I would highly recommend reading.
This was one of the only poetry books I've read that really made me visualize the book and feel the emotions and "aesthetic." Even with amazing poem books such as milk and honey, the poems were powerful, but there was nothing to visualize while reading. These poems are so descriptive and many are about nature, the sun, cinnamon and citrus. It's such a summery book that just makes you feel so alive and inspired to look at things differently.
I enjoyed this book so much while reading this one. It only took me one sitting to finish it. It was magnificent, talked about life in general and everything that could probably happen to everyone in their life, esp in love aspects. I pretty much had so much fun though, thank you to the author for sending the book through their giveaway on their instagram pages a while ago.
This is the perfect book for starting any new season and falling in love with yourself. Nicole, writes of new beginnings, love, the moon and stars, and my favorite, lavender. This is a book not to be overlooked.
absolutely loved Chasing Euphoria. My book is full of dog-eared pages of my favorite poems that I know I will being going back to over and over again for a long long time.
All about falling in love and the pain when it comes apart at the seams of the relationship breaking down from the happy place you were in. That being said, the author depicts the beauty in finding a love within yourself that is enough to carry on and enjoy the simple beauty the world around us brings everyday which I feel all the more is aided by the simple lovely cover for the book. After all, the sky and clouds are works of nature's art we are all lucky enough to witness and can't create ourselves.
100% love this poetry book. There is a lot of bad poetry out there, and this one is engaging and keeps you turning the pages. They are all well written and makes you sit with your eyes closed right after reading to contemplate the beauty behind the words.
No if only it’s cover matched the beauty of the words within.
