A standalone novel from USA Today Bestselling author Nina Levine
This cocky bad boy rocker has met his match. He wants her heart, but she only wants his body.
Presley
I don’t care that he’s a smooth talker. He can sweet-talk me all he likes, so long as he backs it up with an orgasm or two. But I’m not looking for a relationship. God, no. Not with a rockstar.
Jett
I don’t care that she argues with me and throws up walls like she’s building a fucking house. Presley Hart will be mine. I’ll make sure of it.
An Alpha Bad Boy novel. Each book in this series features new couples and can be read as a standalone.
This story contains all the panty-melting sexiness and alpha goodness that Nina Levine books are known for.
(Be The One was originally book two in the Crave Series. It has been combined with the first book to create one standalone novel.)
USA Today Bestselling Author Nina Levine is an Aussie author who writes alphas with a side of dirty and sassy women who don't hand their hearts over easily.
When she isn't creating with words, she loves to create with paint and paper. Often though, she can be found curled up with a good book and some chocolate.
He slowly moves his face away from mine and drinks some of his drink. As he places the glass back on the bar, he says, “I’m Jett.”
“Presley.”
A smile tugs at his lips. “Your parents are Elvis fans?”
“My mother is and my father is blinded by love. She could have called me Elvis and he wouldn’t have blinked.”
This inspires a laugh out of him. “Your parents are still happily married?”
“Yeah, go figure. How many marriages do you know of that are still going strong after thirty years?”
His eyes twinkle. “My parents are still happy after thirty-five years. I guess you and I are like some weird science experiment. It kinda sucks, really.”
Frowning, I ask, “Why?”
He throws the rest of his drink back, his eyes still twinkling. “When you don’t come from a fucked-up family, you can hardly blame your issues on your parents, can you? Nope, you and me, we have to own our fucking issues.”
I burst out laughing. “You are so right. Shit, pass me my drink, I can’t cope with this knowledge.”
Shaking his head, he holds my drink away from me. “Bad idea, sweetheart. You have no one to blame your alcoholism on except yourself. I suggest you give up alcohol straight away and find a new vice that’s not as socially unacceptable as alcohol addiction.”
Oh, this is fun. I raise my eyebrows. “What do you suggest?”
He doesn’t even hesitate. “Sex addiction. Take that shit up. Much easier to hide from public view. And a lot more fucking fun than dealing with hangovers.”
“I wouldn’t know the first thing about taking that up. You think you could help me with that?”
He pulls a face like it’s the hardest question he’s ever been asked. Nodding, he says, “Sure. You want to get started now?”
My core clenches at the thought, and I lean into him and say, “You’ve no idea how much I want to get started on that now, Jett.”
He sucks in a breath, and his hand curls around my neck. “You sure? Because once I’m finished with you, you’re going to have an addiction that will be hard to kick.”
I abandoned this book because of bad financial advice (am I weird?) - from a financial advisor, no less.
the market's taken another dive, and I think you should convert what's left of your shares into cash holdings or bonds.
"Buy high and sell low" is the best way to lose money quickly. The financial advisor should be fired. In any case, this shows that the author took some "popular" ideas or beliefs without thinking too deeply or researching enough for the book.
This superficiality also shows up in Jett's character. He never felt like a rock star. For a lead singer, we never see him sing. There is even a concert at some point but we are at the set up and the after party. No rocking.
And if this is not enough: the word "fuck/fucking" appears 648 times. So, almost two per page. Of course, there are pages without any and pages with whole clusters of them.
Be The One will surely leave you an emotional mess, so have those Kleenex on standby ladies! Once again I’m swept up into Jett Vaughn’s amazingness and falling more in loving with him with every turn of the page. This story continues where All Your Reasons left off and Nina sure knows how to pack a punch to the heart *cue the feels*. The emotions were raw and intense. We witness Jett and Presley’s relationship develop and go through some rough patches, like in any relationship.
Presley this woman is so fierce and feisty and will stand toe to toe with you; a ballbreaker. She’s been wronged by her ex-husband and she’s taken that experience and learned to love herself a little more but also at the same time she’s vulnerable and afraid. She doesn’t want to be rejected and cast aside as second best by another man ever again. Jett on the other hand is perfect, a sweetheart, and just ughh but he’s a man who has a vulnerable side and he’s afraid to let anyone in.
These two had their explosive moments both in the bedroom department and in the arguing. Jett would fuck up and Presley would lash out. They butted heads but they still managed to find the error of their ways and apologize to one another for their wrongs and that made their relationship that much more beautiful.
Ugh but wait for it. Nina decides to not play nice and throws a heartbreaking moment leaving you angry and upset cursing out to the heavens of why life is bloody unfair *cue the tears*. It’s really the turning point in the story.
I love the Crave boys and Van’s behavior throughout this book has had me on edge and anxious for his story! Not only that, but now I’m even craving West’s story. His silly antics always had me smiling and don’t get me started on the reserved, and quiet peacemaker of the band, Hunter.
Ugh Nina I can’t with you! I loved this story so much even when it hurt meh. What can I say I’m a sucker for pain *wipes snot*. Now go into that writing cave of yours and give me Van because oh my lawd, this man is so moody and has been terribly hurt that I can’t help but want to see him fall, and laugh and smile. I just want to hug him so tight and never let him go!
ARC was kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
I received an arc of this book for an honest review, and I HONESTLY LOVED IT!!!! I was drawn to Jett and Presley from the first book All Your Reasons. Presley as a strong minded, independent woman who speaks her mind. Jett as the fun loving, dirty talking, alpha male. The two together are just combustible the chemistry is off the charts!!! We pick up in Be The One where All Your Reasons leaves off, Jett & Presley are going strong & slowly finding their way with each other. In All Your Reasons we see how they meet and that Presley isn't looking for a relationship but that she couldn't pass up the charms of Jett Vaughn. So she goes for it but isn't expecting it to turn into anything more. Jett who is more the player type changes his way of thinking once he meets Presley and goes all out pursing her for more. This is where we pick up in Be The One both are realizing that they're more than a fling that they want to make a go out of a relationship. The heat in this book is dialed up a notch from the first one, I needed to turn on my fan. That being said we get to know the characters better and get invested more for this relationship to get their HEA. Of course no book is complete if there is no angst and drama which we get, along with some serious heartbreak. The dynamics of how Jett and Presley were getting to know each other, how they handled their first fright. Than throw in all the drama with the band especially from Van, than some of Jett's family issues going on and we've got a recipe for some serious tears. I was reading this all smiles at the beginning, loving the chemistry and the sexy scenes. Than I get to almost halfway and I started reading it with bated breath waiting for the catalyst and the moment of heartbreak. And boy did Nina break my heart for these characters. I felt everything she wrote and tried to convey, all I wanted was to reach into the book and give comfort to these characters. As I'm reading and sobbing, wishing for things to work out. Nina kept me sucked in and wrapped the book up in true Jett and Presley style. With heat, sparks, teasing and smiles. So glad I was given the chance to read this book and to fall in love with Jett and Presley. I will be recommending this book to my book friends....... heck if you're reading this review stop put it down and go one click this book, lol. My review doesn't do this book justice on how good it is!
~*~ Obsessed by books arc given in exchange for an honest review ~*~
"Life is like a storm, one minute calm and the next it's all chaos and mess...Promise me you'll dance in the rain."
Nina Levine knocks it out of the park with book two in the Crave series. Starting immediately after book one with Presley dealing with the aftermath of running into her husband during her date with another rockstar! Jett and Presley may not be sure how to deal with their emotional baggage but they have no problems saying with their bodies what their hearts are feeling. This couple's chemistry should be bottled and sold! Presley is on a break from work whilst figuring out if Jett can be the man for her. Having sworn off rockstars after her first terrible experience she struggles to let her insecurities go. Likewise Jett has never experienced these feelings before, and at times he just can't handle the implications, his own actions taking him by surprise. Can they work past their worst fears or are they doomed to fail?
Be the One also shows us more about the band, Van has been through something he's not yet ready to share. His trauma evident in the way he spirals into a dark place, where no one can really touch him. He tries to find a release through his music but issues within the band prevents him from fully venting his issues. West, the fun loving cock sure member of the band, is knocked down a peg or two when a media scandal hits the band, rocking their loyal fab base. Leaving Tom their ever reliable manager to juggle the distant yet volatile Van, the love struck Jett and West who has a whole world of pain waiting for him! Revealing the highs and lows of fame, and how quickly people abandon you in times of need this second part of Crave is a little darker.
Throughout the band troubles are the ongoing antics of Jett and Presley who really can not keep their hands off one another. Fate decides to throw a tragedy into the works and it will either destroy them or cement their relationship. Cancer and the effects not only for the patient but for the families is a theme throughout. It is very poignant and I think anyone reading this will know someone touched by the terrible disease. It's handled with tact and respect so grab a box of tissues - you have been warned.
Another magnificent blend of angst, joy, reality, fantasy, eroticism and pain to make this a perfect five star read. I really hope we get to read more about Van, I do like a slightly damaged alpha male! Can Presley remind Jett that life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass?
UPDATE** 10/30 *****LISTENED ON AUDIBLE*** I loved reading this book but listening to it and hearing Jett Vaughn with a HOT AUSSIE ACCENT *Yep I'M DEAD* SO GOOD!!!
* Jett & Presley’s conclusion is finally here I was dying for this book! Thank God I was lucky to be gifted an ARC because the wait was killing me. FANTABULOUS! I LOVED IT! I laughed I Cried I Sighed I devoured the book in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down, and I am love with JETT! I love his fifthly mouth, his cockiness, his playfulness, his everything, he is EXACTLY WHAT EVERY GIRL NEEDS. Presley is the perfect match for Jett. She is strong willed, kind hearted and devoted. The passion between them is purely real and sizzling HOT! Be the One definitely turns up the heat, but this book is so much more. Be the one is not your typical Cliché of Rocker book. It is more about the chemistry and personal demons Jett and Presley have that create this amazing story filled with deep emotion that will pull at your heartstrings. I love Jett & Presley but all the characters in this series are so intriguing that even though I just finished reading ”BE THE ONE” I find myself thinking of VAN HUNTER and WEST, Jett’s Band mates and Erin, Presley’s best friend. Nina Levine has a gift in her writing where she writes you a story of the main characters but makes you curious and wanting to know more of the other supporting characters. Well mission accomplished... I want a VAN’s story or maybe DIESEL? (Trust me you are going to want this too!) Be the One is a full length novel that is the follow-up to the novella All Your Reasons from the CRAVE series and what an EXHILARIATING POWERFUL SEXY book it is. A MUST READ!!
Book one is where we first met Presley, having been in a relationship once with a rockstar she was determined not to go there again and this take no shit attitude woman wasn't one for backing down but Jetts a persistent man.
A rockstar with one thing on his mind...her.
Told in dual pov's with a steady plot with great main characters and extended characters.
I loved the maturity in this Rockstar read, the band had been there and done it all after 10 years and Jett definitely seemed ready to settle down.
The plot focuses on Jett and Presley's relationship, the media storms that attack the band, an ex that won't leave Presley alone and the heartaches and heartwarming moments.
A great read that is oh so panty melting hot, filled with a brilliant balance of all that a good romance should contain. I love Nina's writing and whether its rockstar or MC her ability to include a bbf and alpha male is something I love about her books and this had a bonus of a woman with back bone, love Presley.
Looking forward to reading more from the other characters, hoping this is the start of another great series from Nina, I know each one will have a brilliant story to tell.
Well. I have to say it. I actually wasn't very please with this book. I felt as though this wasn't even the same Jett & Presley as who we met in All Your Reasons!! And I don't mean to say that they have developed, more like they have de-evolved, if that makes sense? Instead of Presley being the self-sufficient, confident young woman that we met in book 1- she's suddenly an angry and whiny harpy. She's blowing up at Jett over every little comment he makes, and the fact that he isn't spending his every waking moment with her. I realize that this came from her relationship drama with Lennon, but still- she should have realized that Jett was nothing like him. As far as Jett goes, he has turned into this possessive beast, that explodes when any man so much as looks at Presley. He claims to love her to no end, but he is the first to shut her out when times get tough, and walk away from everything that they were building. It seemed as though she was the first person to get the brunt of his bad feelings, but the only person that he wanted when he needed comfort. Some of it just made no sense to me. I'm glad that these two worked their way to an HEA, but honestly- I worry about how their future will go as they face their hurdles. I just didn't get a good feeling that they had a solid foundation to build on. I'm not sure what happened with the disconnect between book 1 & 2, but it was enough that I can only give this one 3.5 stars.
I just had my heart go thru an emotional, raw, wonderful, beautiful... GAH! The emotions... I can't...Jett and Presley. These two are perfection. Seriously, THEY. ARE. PERFECT! I need them in my life! I want more! How can this be the end?! :(
It starts off pretty much where All Your Reasons left off. These two are in love from the beginning. Of course they don't realize that yet lol. He's a man that doesn't let anyone in. Presley has been thru enough with her failed marriage to that prick..grrr Lennon. And if that's not enough, more shit hits the fan. False allegations, money problems, and sadly a death...I could not stop the tears for longer than a minute without them starting up again! Ugh my heart...and Jett..I wanted to hold that man and never let him go. Presley is so strong. She's a woman to look up to and has a huge heart. This woman is selfless and loving but also doesn't take any shit from anyone and she is what Jett needs. Jett is such a sweetheart. When that man opens his heart....sigh....major swooning! At the end, I was nervous. Things weren't looking good...90% still..... I'm still shaking! Nina....I could kill you! Don't do that to me again!
Brilliant book. I was recommended this book and author by a friend. I've never read anything from this author before but I'm so glad I listened to her. The story was really and I luvd the characters as well. I 'll be looking forward to be reading more from this author soon.

After reading the short, open ended first book I was very eager to read it's continuation. I was more than pleased with this sequel!
Book one had a quick, serial style novella feel, just barely scratching the surface of the story. Be The One, however, was fully realized and so much more. I was not expecting it to be so in depth and intense, but it was definitely a good surprise.
I loved the character development going on among not just Presley and Jett, but the bandmates as well. I think they need their own stories before it's over with! The heartbreaking moments (no spoilers) happened a touch quickly for me, but the grief and reactions felt real. And the instalove between Presley and Jett was a little intense, especially given how badly her last relationship ended, but they also seemed to talk about their problems like adults actually (hopefully?) would.
Overall, a really good read and so much more than the novella this series began with. Hope to get more of Crave in the future! ~ George, 4 stars
Jett & Presley!!!!! Talk about a book hangover!!!! This is the rest of Jett & Presley's story & it is one heck of a story!!! Nina Levine really knows how to pull her readers in & she has done it again. I absolutely loved All Your Reasons & have been on pins & needles waiting for the rest of the story.
While there is a lot going on in this book, Nina Freaking Levine keeps your attention & weaves a wonderful story of love, loss, & REALLY HOT sex!!!! I am having a really hard time writing this review because I feel I cannot express strongly enough how much I loved this book without giving things away & I refuse to ruin it for all the people who have been waiting for it. So suffice it to say, I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!! Please, Nina, hurry up & write Van's story. I love all the guys but I REALLY NEED Van's story!!!!!!
After finishing All Your Reasons, I could not wait for book two. The chemistry between Jett and Presley is off the charts. Jett could make any women become a sex addict. I mean who doesn't love a dirty mouthed rockstar?! I loved how straight up and honest they were to each other about how they felt. When they fought they fought but they made up and didn't hold anything against each other. The ending though was the saddest HEA. ***spoiler*** You got to see how something as horrible as Cancer can affect not only the person w this terrible disease but how it affects the family members. I loved the fact that Crave would put on benefit concerts to raise money for Cancer research. 5 stars for this book and I can't wait read about the rest of the band.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the conclusion to Jett and Presley's story. While their whirlwind introduction was light and fun, their ending was filled with emotion and struggles.
"I let it consume me. I am fucking consumed. Presley consumes me. She fucking owns me." ....ahh Jett
Jett, Mr. Rockstar doesn't know how to fall for someone. He has issues that have never been resolved and is muddling though this thing with Presley the best he can. Except his best is a mess, his life is a mess and at every turn something else is falling apart. His feelings run deep and it's making his head crazy. Then when forced to deal with something from long ago, he can't handle it. He would rather shut everyone out instead of going though the pain they can cause. Jett is possessive and has a filthy mouth but also he is someone who cares about other people with this fierceness that consumes him.
"I'm wondering if the pain of shutting someone out of your life might be worse than the possible pain of losing them."
Presley
She just wants to be someone's number one. She doesn't want to live in the shadows and wants to find her own sort of happy. She thought she had the with Jett, she thought that he would be the one. With insecurities about her own relationship history she tries to be what Jett needs, but being that person is becoming more and more difficult. She is feisty and stands up for herself, by no means anyone's door mat. But she is also understanding and has this thing about her that draws you in.
"He taught me to own my story and to love myself regardless of any parts that need editing."
These two have explosive chemistry and that is the one area that they never have a problem with. They do, on the other hand, have problems that they need to work out. Finding out if they can make it work was an emotional journey and I got to the point where I wasn't sure how the whole thing was going to play out. The wait to get there was bitter sweet; it hurt, it made me laugh, it was hot, it drew me in and made me care. It also made want more of these Crave boys, because they all have a story to tell and I am waiting to see what that is.
“Yes, I’ve already decided on this. I want you, Presley, and I’ll do anything in my power to have you.”
“And while I think she’s being slightly irrational, I understand that when you fear something, everything is magnified and easily blown out of proportion.”
“Lennon may have broken my heart but taught me something. He taught me to own my story and to love myself regardless of any parts that need editing.”
“Sure, the guys and I have people all over the world who think they love us, but when all is said and done, the only opinions that count are those of the people we love.”
“I think he needs you guys more than he knows. When someone’s hurting so much that they lash out at those they love, it’s a sign they need you badly.”
My Review:
Another stellar story from Nina Levine. Swoon, she certainly brings the heat in this sensual romance that contains considerable emotional ups and downs in addition to a rather intensely morose patch. I enjoyed the humor and banter of the band members, but Ms. Levine squeezed my heart with her insightful writing as the characters battled a full array of relationship and professional challenges as well as their grief, fears, media storms, and each other. The characters speak in extensive expletives, which prevented the use of many of my favorite quotes, as they would never make it past the Amazon censors.
Nina Levine has absolutely brought me to my knees with Jett and Presley story. Their story is full of passion truth honest and heartfelt emotion. We all need a Jett in our lives he will have you swooning with his dirty mouth and the passion he shows towards Presley his family and friends I mean who doesn't want a man who will make you feel like the most important thing in the world. Presley is a strong minded woman who has finally learnt that she is worth and deserves so much more than she taught and that's all thanks to Jett showing her how a woman should be treated. Their story takes on a Twist that totally side swiped me but in such an amazing and truthful way. what happens when you must face one of your greatest fears do you give up or do you learn to dance in the rain. This book made me laugh swoon cry and took me on an amazing journey of discovery of how we need to live and love life to the fullest. This book is a must read and I can't wait to see what else Nina has is store for the rest of the Crave series
Jett and Presley's story continues and it's definitely not all plain sailing but what can you expect from two passionate people who are wary of commitment. Presley is a great charcter, she's fiesty, opinionated, successful, strong willed and doesn't take shit from anyone and Jett is the same with a whole lot of determination and when he sees something he wants he goes for it and what he wants is Presley. The rockstar life isn't easy, we get glimpses into how difficult it can be for everyone involved, accusations, groupies, reporters you name it the band have to deal with it all, trying to keep it together without the band falling apart. Jett is a deep charcter who finds it hard to lean on others, he's always been the strong dependable one, the one everyone turns to, will he let them in when he needs help or will he push Presley away? We meet the other guys in the band and I hope Van's book is next cause I really want to know what's going on with him, he's a big ball of seething angst and mystery.
The story has laughs, secrets, loss, grief, and sweet seduction. I was pulled right into this short story. The story flowed well.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first All Your Reasons (Crave, #1)
This is more of Presley and Jett’s story. Presley and Jett are together and things are going good but what happens when things start to get bad? Can they push thought and make it to the good again or is the first bad thing that comes down on them going to ruin them? Can Presley be second best to Jett? Or will she leave to protect her heart from even more heartbreak? Will Jett just let her go or will he push her so hard she will never what to come back to him?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series.
Holy freaking hell!!! All the feels with this book. Let me just say Nina Levine kills it again! Jett is amazing! That man could rock your world by just talking. But that's not what I love about him the most. It's his openness and honesty. Every woman needs a Jett in her life. Little Miss Presley is a bad ass! She doesn't take any shit without giving some in return. I absolutely adore her. She truly is Jetts perfect match. Not only do you get more Jett and Presley but you find out why Jett is so amazing. Jetts journey is a rough and rocky one so I'm not going to spoil it. Nina you took a subject to heavy and close to my heart and brought it to light in a REAL way. Having dealt with that issue myself for quite a few years made me connect more to this book than I have any books in a long time. You dear are amazing and of course another 5 star Nina read for me!
I received this ARC earlier today and had to jump straight in as Jett and Presley were still on my mind from reading All Your Reasons and WOW Nina you have rocked this one out.
This book picks straight up where All Your Reasons finished, Jett and Presley are still trying to navigate their way through the start of a relationship but its not all plain sailing. Issues develop in the Band and these alone take there toll but Jett has his own personal hell to get through, will Presley be around to help him or will he push her away well only on way to find out is to go get your copy.
One thing I will say is that you will need the tissues because this book will tear at your heart but Nina has been done with such compassion.
Another great read Nina I hope we have more to come xx
Book 2 in the Crave series (the version I had anyway) actually included book 1 in the beginning and then continues on with Jett and Presley’s story. Presley continues to fight her pull to Jett and Jett continues to pursue her with a passion (I love taming the rockstar romances). The sex is off the charts, down and dirty, and the story had me riveted, I kept waiting for the ball to drop and it did, my heart broke. I love Nina’s writing, I love her characters (Jett’s dirty mouth was perfect), the storyline was funny, romantic, sexy, and then it wasn't. Then I was a sobbing wreck, hoping amongst hope that all would turn out great.
Love triangle? Cheating? HEA? Any Descriptive Sex w/OW/OM/Ex? Would I read more by this author/or in this series? Maybe, but not for now. Rating: 3 stars
Review
It was an enjoyable read filled with love, loss, heartbreak and at the very end content.
3.75-4 stars. This is the second book about Jett and Presley. This was an super emotional story, which I was not expecting but I still enjoyed it. I LOVE Presley... she ranks up there for me as one of my favorite heroines! The story flowed nicely and there really wasn't a dull moment in the book. I am curious to see what Van's deal is, as his book is next. However, it won't be until next year so I think I may check out some of the author's other books in the meantime!
Totally loved this book! When I read that this was about a rockstar I thought ..... Fall in love, mad fans get in the way, tears, they break up, she gets pregnant & then they get back together. Glad I was wrong, this was very refreshing & addictive! Couldn't wait to get up in the morning to read for a sneaky hour before time to go to work.
Jett and Presley charmed me. I loved every single bit about them—even those bits where every kid would say, "Eeeeew, they are kissing!" They had amazing chemistry and the story itself was wrapped in great, captivating vibe that pulled me in straight from the beginning.
This book is awesome! So intense, controversial, dramatic, sexy, and heartbreaking all in one. I really understand the complexity the author portrays for the title although I've only read this book in the series. I have a Nonprofit organization that raises donations for charity for cancer research myself being an stage 2 Ovarian Cancer survivor. I've been in remission for 15yrs and I felt every emotion in the telling of Claudia's story and Jett's families grief and acceptance. It's not easy to move on from tragedy when it's close to your soul. Its almost like the guilt and loss of what ifs weigh on your spirit and you're not sure if it's the grieving from the loss of the loved one,or the grieving for your loss of spirit they brought to your life. I loved everything about this story and if I have time this year in my reading Challenge of 2020, I will try t get to the other stories in the series. I'm not making any promises but I'll give it my best!
Highlights I Respect:
*I can’t even begin to tell you how devastating this disease is, not only to the people battling it, but also to the family who are by their side every step of the way. And then sometimes, the family are the ones left behind after the cancer rips their loved one away from them.”
*and is completely in the moment because when he does his fist pump, he yells out, “Fuck cancer!”
*smiles. I shake my head at him but give him a fist pump back and yell out, “Fuck cancer!”
Decent plot. Rockstar was the last thing Presley needed but Jett was what she got. Emotional upbringing had Jett built walls until he met Presley but will she be enough?
