Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.

These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.

Went into this not having read anything form the series and really enjoyed it! But as a head's up; 1) This is part of an established world, 2) Said world is paranormal and has many facets, not all of which are explained in this short, #) There is one main book before this but also another book in a connected series. So if not knowing these things will bother you, this short is best read after reading the other available books. It is a mix of books as there is a YA book set in this world (Not My Reflection, which I have read) as well as an adult one (Ancient Whispers). The adult one has a more direct connection, literally being the book that occurs before this short, but there are several teens characters and weird things (ghost in a mirror) that are from the YA book.

Now for the short itself! It was well written and worked very well even with the short amount of time. There is insta-love between the two main characters as they feel a bond to each other of being soul mates, something that Ophaniel has been fighting and Cash longs to have. This is a bit of a tease, something to dip your toe into the world as well as something to say that there will be more to come from the series ahead. It had sweet moments and heated moments and yet all fell within just a few pages. A good little short within a series and I look forward to seeing more!

Very well written, some very minor typos. I would love to find out more about this world and the other characters.

I'm assuming there is at least one book before this one, which made this a little confusing. But it was really sweet and made me want to read the first one.....
