We celebrate our republic day on 26th January. But many of us don't know what is the meaning of being republic. Beyond the fundamental rights and duties, very few know about the constitution and its crux. Atul Khanna is one among those rare people and has written a book that lays bare the double standards and shortcoming in our constitution.
The book is multilayered and handles several variety of arenas where the change in the constitution is required. The book in short is the detailed analysis of the constitution and a set of suggestions to improve and moreover upgrade the constitution.
As a preface author throws light to the freedom struggle and tells the readers why the efforts from every freedom fighters except two were neglected. Author subtly divulges the strategy by the Nehru family in glorifying Jawaharlal Nehru whereas Ambedkar, the Architect of Indian constitution remained neglected till recently.
To begin with author enlightens the readers about the style of action and some sneak peek into the tenure of several leaders who did or did not hold cabinet positions. Author presents several suggestions as petitions, which, if followed could make a lot of changes in Indian economy. As the author puts forth India is trapped in the constitution that was made nearly a century back. The prime petition is for the mixed vote system. The idea on further thought seems like a wonderful thought. The process which is more or less a grading system will eradicate the favoritism. Likewise, several petitions are put forward. A few that on personal note, I found most effective will be mentioned here.
While Lokpal was formed, as every citizen, I also thought that something useful and effective is going to happen but apparently it turned out to be mere puppet. The case Jammu and Kashmir is indeed an eye opener for me. The second partition is something that was unknown to me and I am not very proud of it. The chapter is about repealing Article 370. It is a very important chapter in the whole book. The chapter about civil code is yet another important one.
Overall the book targets all practical areas that influences the lives of a citizen. It dissects the constitution in minute details and analyses it. In a few years the book would be a reference material to the political students. The book is recommended to every responsible Indian Citizens.

This book is an eye-opener. It represents the sentiments of a common man about the current situation of the Indian politics and at the same time it throws light on the practices that are responsible for it.
The book starts with refrences from history about Karan and Eklavya and highlights that since time immemorial, the deserving ones are not getting their dues. The analysis about various leaders, right from the time of freedom struggle to this day, shows that how and where things were going wrong.
The book not only throw light on the problems, it suggests solution,too, as how much we need to change the policies andn prevalent practices.
It practically touches each and every aspect of Indian society, its political and economic scenerio, prevalent practices, policies, problems and their possible solutions.
THE TITLE 'Between you and me' points towards an ongoing conversation and yes, the book seems like a conversation between the reader and the author.
THE COVER is simple yet, at once, draws your attention.
THE BLURB is concise and evokes criosity.
THE NARRATION is impressive. The flow in the writing is smooth. Though I am not a great fan of this genre, yet I liked it a lot. The style of writing has a great appeal. It seems as if author is voicing your thoughts and thoughts of every citizen. Its relatability is the USP of this book.
THE LANGUAGE is rich and impressive.
To my mind, this book is a must read for every Indian who is the back bone of this democracy and all those people who are sitting on those important chairs who make and implement policies. A great read.

Between You and Me by Atul Khanna is an in-depth analysis of the Indian society–its politics, government, leaders, policies–through the eyes of a common man. The book begins with the story of the historical characters Karna and Eklavya, to show how from time immemorial the society has been unfair to the most deserving. Through Between You and Me, the author dwells deep into the faults in our society, from the government to education, healthcare, economy, to science and technology. He also provides possible solutions to each problem, to achieve a better society.
Throughout the book, the author draws examples from his own life, and also breaks down the situations in layman’s terms to make it easier for the reader to understand the situations. I loved how Khanna drew some hard-hitting parallels to ask crucial questions. For example, he asks why the land acquisition of Worli Sea Face sounds so preposterous when it’s been done all the time in rural India? “Is it one law for us and another law for them?” asks the author.
The book is well-written and well-structured. The author often makes his points through bullets, which makes it easier to read and understand. It is a bit on the heavy side due to the kind of issues the author has addressed and to understand everything one has to take it slow. While I agree with most of his views, there are several loopholes in some of the solutions he provided. The book could have been more compact, his arguments often got lost amidst unnecessary details. It also got boring at times because of too many details and I had to take long breaks in between to keep reading.

What do I say about this book ‘Between You and Me’?
This is not your normal book which you read in one go. Nope.
This book ‘Between You and Me’ needs time. Time to understand what the Author is trying to say to it’s reader and time to let each chapter sink into your mind. Ponder Over.
Atul Khanna’s Between You and Me’ forces you think beyond your comfort zone. This book is a conversation between Author and it’s readers As the title of the book ‘Between You and Me’ so aptly suggests.
He begins with the Example of Eklavya and Karna and goes on with some of the prominent politicians of Pre and Post-Independence era: Mahatma Gandhi, Ambedkar, Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal to Narendra Modi, who played major role in making today’s India or lacked thereof what needed to be done to make more than what it is today.
The Politicians play a major role in the development of a Nation. Be that governing or economically. They in a way paved the path for future successes or downfall.
Atul talked about India and raised some valid issues with the Working of Indian Parliament, Elections, Indian Constitution, defense and many more such thing which are the backbone of India.
We don’t give a thought to them because they are deeply ingrained in our mind since the time of Independence. But if we stop and mull over the things he said, we may realize that a lot of things needs to be changed in the working of India in every quarter.
I totally agree with Atul, when he says that we haven’t done anything major after the invention

Between You And Me is the perfect blend of hard truths, facts, and strong opinions with a dialogue that doesn't force change but rightly encourages it.
As someone who's always interested in politics but never picked up a book on any political themes, this hardcore non-fiction impresses me incredibly. It encompasses a thorough collection of thoughts and reactions to the societal systems and past events while catering to the Indian audience that is open and enthusiastic about bringing a change by changing the system. But it doesn't simply complain about the wrongdoings or about the incorrect conclusions drawn from the history; it works on finding plausible solutions too. The writing is one of the best aspects of the story in the way that it is absolutely transparent and has a dialogue tone to the narration in order to facilitate the readers to comprehend and openly discuss the country's past, present, and future.
I received a physical copy of this via a promotional event but that doesn't, in any way, affect my rating and thoughts on it. Thank you, Atul Khanna and Bloomsbury Publishing!

Ah, alright. What can I say about this one? Well, okay, let me try. It's a conversation. In the crudest of terms, and the most basic of all languages, this book is a conversation. Sounds strange, doesn't it? But it is true. This book is a conversation between the author and the reader and it is about how our place and our lives today are in a lot of need of transformation.
Atul Khanna, in his novel, Between You And Me: Fight to Societal Moksha talks of the topics that you, as a reader sit and ponder over. He starts with ancient history and the topics of Eklavya and Karna. How different and how tough lives were for them. How hard was the society on them. And yet, these guys endured that and so much more and today, they are few of the notable names from ancient Indian history/mythology.
In this book, the author raises the topics of democracy, economics, social and political constitutions, and even administration to bring to our eyes what is happening and how things really are. There are so many aspects of every thing and everyone that we, as a collective people, tend to go with the flow and not notice the things that require improvement. In this book, Khanna is focusing on all of that and so much more.
Honestly, I'd say that despite the unusual style in which this book was written, I quite liked it. It felt as if the author is talking directly to me by raising those questions and throwing them on my face (and in a way, he probably is). The idea behind the book was to give us ideas on how he believes we can improve as a society. I won't say that I don't agree with them but at the same time, I don't feel like I'm qualified enough to judge them. This book would do a lot better to be in the hands of those who hold power so that they can think all of this and decide whether it will work in the practical way or not.
I guess it was a rather enlightening read and I would recommend it to all of you, folks. :)

This is a book about development w.r.t India’s growth, common man and his struggles with current set of laws, politicians who nominates their favorites to elections without going thru the candidates educational back ground, morality etc..
I actually liked this book very much because it is really good at what topic it covers. No words to appreciate Mr.Atul Khanna the author, it is very well known fact he is having extensive experience in this field and genuine analyses are employed.
I wanted to read this book for improving my knowledge about the economy and wish to get some idea how it affects on a country's economic and to look after the original solutions to improve it.
Extremely thorough, supremely illuminating piece of work. This is a MUST read for everyone who wishes to understand the evolution of Indian society over the past three millennia.
In the book the Author is discussing about the rise of few national leaders like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhai Patel, B.R.Ambedkar, Indira Gandhi,A.B Vajpayee and P.V.NarsasimhaRao. These Indian intellectuals have contributed immensely for developing our nation . The amount of research that went into this thesis is breath-taking.
In India ,as a developing nation , the basic expectations of civilized people will be Health and safety along with good but not high cost education and once it is done the other part will be a permanent employment. This is discussed in detail and few new changes required is pointed out by the author. To make these changes we need to work from grass root level and bring the major changes required in the current system.
He discusses in detail about the gaps in the current system in each and every department and solution required to revamp the same and fill up the gaps in the best possible way.
The author talks about few national leaders and their contribution to make India a better nation as well as pointing out their flaws which affected the nation’s development.
One example will be:-
Dr.B.R.Ambedkar:-
one of the greatest scholars India has ever produced. The way he defended his theory is simply magnificent. Author talks about Dr.Ambedkar contribution to nation without occupying any position at national level.
This book is really like a river once starts flowing, only gains speed from one topic to another and at the end almost covers the entire subject like the discussion about Hindu marriage Act, GST, Lokpal, Jammu and Kashmir issues, National Bank issues etc….
Overall, Mr.Atul Khanna has some awesome theories and takes on some aspects with less practicality, but at the same time it aims to motivate all the youth’s and common man and national leaders strive to achieve at the most for the entire nation.

India, where civilization began way ahead of other so called ‘developed’ countries of today is still lagging behind them. It will not be too far off the mark to say that it the structure of Indian government is now very slowly but steadily crumbling away. In the light of this happening it is time for us to realize that our country needs a change. It needs a government which is suitable for 21st century mindset and which is not based on empty promises rather on grounded actions. We want results not tantalizing promise of paradise. While making promises are all well and good but what is the use of a promise that cannot be kept?
Author Atul Khanna in his debut novel “Between You and Me: Fight to Societal Moksha” indulges in a deep discussion about India’s governmental system, its policies, affairs and shortcomings. He comprises the vast length of almost all sectors of growing India and discusses about the different governmental policies that effects those. He throws light onto much facts which are not knows by the ordinary people and enlightens them about many underhanded techniques used by our past and present so called leaders to fill their coffers.
This book starts with two great stories from Mahabharata, one of the greatest epic of the world which we are proud to be called ours. He takes the life stories of Eklavya and Karna and analyzes them to show how in historical India distinction and corrupt practices were a norm. He then goes on to say our present society is filled with such Karnas’ and Eklavyas’ and until we do justice to them, India is doomed to fail spectacularly.
He traces the accounts and deeds of great Indian leaders such as Gandhi, Nehru and Ambedkar along side with our current leaders and shows their blunders as well as achievements. It is true that we, the common people who are supposed to be the actual decision makers of a democratic country is trapped and bound by our own constitutions. No one from a free country and this time and age should be thus trapped. It is indeed time for us to take steps to make India better again.
It goes on to discuss various problems that our country is facing in much depth and while he does that he also along side of pointing to the errors and problems shows us the solutions and growth capability. He harps on the fact that out population is our source and this is indeed true. In today’s world the most value which is placed on any sector is development or growth of human resources. Across the world countries which do not have much human resource is opening their doors and inviting other people from different countries just to enrich their human resources so that they can grow. But india instead of utilizing this great power is actually thinking and behaving as if it is a burden. Which it is absolutely not. We need to utilize our resources, that is what a intelligent government does. They work with what they have and develop a better future.
He continues to highlight the fact that malpractices and corruptions need to be stopped. Also providing insight on the fact that unity is needed to make changes. One or two leaders cannot bring a massive change. Independence was not the result of only Gandhi protesting. It was a collective effort of many people whose voices were never heard by the public but it was a team work. Blaming our politicians or only one people will not help, we as citizens need to be aware of our own rights and choices. It is impossible for one to govern correctly when the whole foundation to the tip of the institution is a decayed and out of date mass.
Many such concepts are discussed thoroughly which goes on to show how we can utilize our resources, dissuade corruption and make progress towards a better tomorrow.

Author Atul Khanna in his debut novel “Between You and Me: Fight to Societal Moksha” indulges in a deep discussion about India’s governmental system, its policies, affairs and shortcomings. He comprises the vast length of almost all sectors of growing India and discusses about the different governmental policies that effects those. He throws light onto much facts which are not knows by the ordinary people and enlightens them about many underhanded techniques used by our past and present so called leaders to fill their coffers.
This book starts with two great stories from Mahabharata, one of the greatest epic of the world which we are proud to be called ours. He takes the life stories of Eklavya and Karna and analyzes them to show how in historical India distinction and corrupt practices were a norm. He then goes on to say our present society is filled with such Karnas’ and Eklavyas’ and until we do justice to them, India is doomed to fail spectacularly.
He traces the accounts and deeds of great Indian leaders such as Gandhi, Nehru and Ambedkar along side with our current leaders and shows their blunders as well as achievements. It is true that we, the common people who are supposed to be the actual decision makers of a democratic country is trapped and bound by our own constitutions. No one from a free country and this time and age should be thus trapped. It is indeed time for us to take steps to make India better again.
It goes on to discuss various problems that our country is facing in much depth and while he does that he also along side of pointing to the errors and problems shows us the solutions and growth capability. He harps on the fact that out population is our source and this is indeed true. In today’s world the most value which is placed on any sector is development or growth of human resources. Across the world countries which do not have much human resource is opening their doors and inviting other people from different countries just to enrich their human resources so that they can grow. But india instead of utilizing this great power is actually thinking and behaving as if it is a burden. Which it is absolutely not. We need to utilize our resources, that is what a intelligent government does. They work with what they have and develop a better future.
He continues to highlight the fact that malpractices and corruptions need to be stopped. Also providing insight on the fact that unity is needed to make changes. One or two leaders cannot bring a massive change. Independence was not the result of only Gandhi protesting. It was a collective effort of many people whose voices were never heard by the public but it was a team work. Blaming our politicians or only one people will not help, we as citizens need to be aware of our own rights and choices. It is impossible for one to govern correctly when the whole foundation to the tip of the institution is a decayed and out of date mass.
Many such concepts are discussed thoroughly which goes on to show how we can utilize our resources, dissuade corruption and make progress towards a better tomorrow.

Title is catchy, unique & has a sound effect on readers.
The book basically highlights the needs of today's society. It lays focus on problems & issues pertaining to modern India in the 21st century. It extrapolates further by discussing the requirements & transformations, changes that are essential to create a sustainable society.
The discussions mainly covers topics like government, economy, education, society, culture, healthcare, schools, science, technology, etcetera. It lays groundwork & fragmented rules which enables us to design & structure of the needs which are essential for a modern society & a growing democracy.
We often cringe & complain about governance of the country. However, we never believe to look into ourselves as perhaps the answers lie deep within us. It's not enough to have good, honest & deserving leaders after much scrutinising. What's also important is to have responsible, diligent & honest citizens who can balance every aspect required to culminate a good nation. Only when these both combine & work hand-in-hand with each other. The perception of a remarkable nation may very well be within our grasp & much likely possible to achieve!
Sometimes we all have thoughts as we ponder - about the fact that though India is full of talented people, likes of while world has hardly ever witnessed before. And why is that it's still lagging behind, despite the stipulated talents in this country? It's basically because of generalised thinking that 'sab chalta hai/sab tikh hai (it's OK), 'Everything is fine', the lackadaisical attitude towards country with mindset 'it's not my problem or responsibility, so why should I be bothered about it! Though it's a sad fact, but this is the harsh reality that majority of people in our country, have this kind of selfish compassion towards our country. The sole reason why it's lagging behind. In a preemptive approach, the author has tried to point these issues, delve upon & discuss them. Also talking about why these things happen, how to rectify them - improve ourselves & contributing in a better way to make society - country developed.
The amount of research incorporated in this book is worth commendable. It's not the average nonfiction book which readers often judge at first glance. It teaches us many things & it becomes interesting bcoz the readers get to learn something new out of it. The facts, figures, representations extrapolated here are quite interesting & seemingly plausible to understand.
To ease things further, just for the convenience of the readers, the book has been subdivided into three parts, which are further divided into subcategories given below :
1. Ancient India : Eklavya & Karna.
2. Modern India & the Personality-Driven subcontinent.
3. Structures we need : A constitution for today & the citizen's petitions.

This is a book about development w.r.t India’s growth, common man and his struggles with current set of laws, politicians who nominates their favorites to elections without going thru the candidates educational back ground, morality etc..
I actually liked this book very much because it is really good at what topic it covers. No words to appreciate Mr.Atul Khanna the author, it is very well known fact he is having extensive experience in this field and genuine analyses are employed.
I wanted to read this book for improving my knowledge about the economy and wish to get some idea how it affects on a country's economic and to look after the original solutions to improve it.
Extremely thorough, supremely illuminating piece of work. This is a MUST read for everyone who wishes to understand the evolution of Indian society over the past three millennia.
In the book the Author is discussing about the rise of few national leaders like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhai Patel, B.R.Ambedkar, Indira Gandhi,A.B Vajpayee and P.V.NarsasimhaRao. These Indian intellectuals have contributed immensely for developing our nation . The amount of research that went into this thesis is breath-taking.
In India ,as a developing nation , the basic expectations of civilized people will be Health and safety along with good but not high cost education and once it is done the other part will be a permanent employment. This is discussed in detail and few new changes required is pointed out by the author. To make these changes we need to work from grass root level and bring the major changes required in the current system.
He discusses in detail about the gaps in the current system in each and every department and solution required to revamp the same and fill up the gaps in the best possible way.
The author talks about few national leaders and their contribution to make India a better nation as well as pointing out their flaws which affected the nation’s development.
One example will be:-
Dr.B.R.Ambedkar:-
one of the greatest scholars India has ever produced. The way he defended his theory is simply magnificent. Author talks about Dr.Ambedkar contribution to nation without occupying any position at national level.
This book is really like a river once starts flowing, only gains speed from one topic to another and at the end almost covers the entire subject like the discussion about Hindu marriage Act, GST, Lokpal, Jammu and Kashmir issues, National Bank issues etc….
Overall, Mr.Atul Khanna has some awesome theories and takes on some aspects with less practicality, but at the same time it aims to motivate all the youth’s and common man and national leaders strive to achieve at the most for the entire nation.

When education is not guaranteed by the State, how can education alone be the criterion to be admitted into the government to rule?
Between You and Me is a thought provoking book asking questions with regard to social, political and economic aspects of our country. The author doesn’t shy away from expressing unpopular opinions starting from Eklavya and Karna from ancient India to Narendra Modi. He introduces us to people and systems which have been/are important but have never been talked about before. This book takes you on a journey of re-introducing you to India and expressing opinions with regard to changes needed today.
Reading this book is important
This is a book of opinions, of how the author feels have we progressed as a country and the reasons why we are still ‘developing’. It covers all aspects from our leaders, to our laws.
Why is it an important book you ask? Because the author asks you the why of our system! He asks you questions which you probably never thought of and suggests methods and positions which may bring about change. He suggests to not only be focused on changing the driver but the car itself (driver being the leader and car being the system!).
What was interesting is that even though I need not agree with a few opinions with the author, I never felt offended by any suggestion, or any comment made by him.
Writing Style
The writing is what made this book a wonderful read. The author directly interacts with the reader, tells you how he feels and why he feels them. He gives a reason for all his opinions and helps you understand certain aspects (which a layman might not know) by giving real life examples and metaphors.
The author has been thorough with every detail and every topic and does not shy away from discussing the J&K issue or death penalty. He suggests theory and a model system which is realistic and easy to understand.
Final Thoughts
Throughout the book, the author explains certain aspects from his life and experiences over the years. I recommend this book to everyone; every person from all ages and fields should read this book.

The author has written in a perspective that will make you think of the most needed transformation modifications for the current trend we live in.
The author makes ourselves question if we are trapped with the circumstances that we come across. He stresses on the need why would we need to take action only when we are put into a situation. He says if we can forecast, why can’t we take steps to counter the situation beforehand.
The book provides new theories for a new structure to thrive in this current democracy. It provides an opportunity for the confidence, trust or hope or whatever we wish to call to amplify an ancient society and to land it safely in future. It provides theories to redefine the role of each citizen; fro not just being a spectator to being a performer. These theories when implemented or put into an action plan would definitely bring a realization of peace, power and prosperity or need I put I tin a better way “MOKSHA” to the society.
The author indulges in conversation about our country’s constitutional system, the pros and cons. He includes the immense length of almost all sectors of the country and deliberates about the different governmental policies that effects those. He brings up facts which are not known to ordinary and educates them about many devious practices used by our leaders: both present and past to fill their reserves.

I am glad that I got an opportunity to read this book, especially before the upcoming elections. Being a commerce student, Indian economy has always been a subject of interest for me. And I must highlight this in the very beginning of my Review, that this book is a great effort by the author to portray the current situation of India as an economy and as a democracy. The research behind this book is very deep and the experiences of the author have helped him portray an unbiased view of India.
As an Indian I have always wondered why India is still a developing country. A country which was called 'The Golden Sparrow', a country where the kings have crowned their motherland with jewels and rich heritage, a country where one of the King used Rolls Royce cars to carry the garbage, why is it still lacking in providing basic necessities to majority of its population. If you have same questions, this book will try and give you reasons for it.
A deep discussion about India's governmental policies,the constitution, it's positives and shortcomings. The author has been very honest with his opinions which I really liked. He has given many realistic anecdotes from The Mahabharata and also of our various national leaders like Nehru and Gandhi to give us a clear picture of the current situation. He has wonderfully put forward his points in three different parts which gives the reader an opportunity to grasp and understand the authors view.
By the end of the book we are left with various points to ponder over and reflect as an Indian on our current state and I definitely will recommend this to everyone.
Don't be afraid of the volume of the book, though it's a bit lengthy and a non fiction, it will keep you interested till the very end.

This book is definitely an inspiration for youngsters or whoever wants to make big changes in the Indian society. We often complain about our corrupted government and puppets in the name of leaders. But do we have any other choice or plans to change them? That's a question we need to ask ourselves before criticizing too much, isn't it? Now, there are only two kind of people here. 1. With no brain and follow the leaders blindly. 2. Cynical about everything and not really making any changes. ( of course, I will come under the second category too) But this book made me realise so many things. And the author really has solutions for things we don't even know it's a problem. He talks about everything in this book right from government, economy, education to healthcare, science and technology.
He points out at our existence here beautifully in such a short sentence as 'We are at once both free and trapped'. Isn't it resonating with us so perfectly? We think we are free but are we really free?
And he has definitely done a detailed research on everything he is talking about. It should not be read for entertainment. It has wisdom and has to be read very carefully. It was little tough for me to read it because my small mind couldn't take everything in and it felt like Greek and Latin to me in few places because I have only little knowledge about them. So I would say the narration of the book could have been little loose and easy for everyone to grasp the concept and understand.
But it's definitely worth reading. And I would recommend you to read it. Also, I wish people in higher positions like politicians and activists would read this and make sense of something. I really do. They should definitely read it.

“Between You and Me” – Flight To Societal Moksha is an interesting read. The blurb of the book is enough to arouse interest in one’s mind. The cover of the book is perfect and wonderfully designed. Last but not the least the title says it all.
The book is divided into three parts. Not only per part is important in itself but all the sub parts is important and interesting to read. The book starts with Eklavya and Karna from ancient India. The author has very well explained the need to establish fair opportunity. Moving forward, the author presents teaching from past few years highlighting Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Ambedkar, Indira Gandhi, Jinnah and he moved forward highlighting about the present day leaders like Narendra Modi. The writer provides the structure that is needed. While reading I could just agree to many more points the author has provided. After a few chapters, the author talks about equality. The second part of the book talks about administration, the case of Jammu and Kashmir and economy of the country. In the last part of the book, the author talks about the actual song of India for him is ‘Hanuman Chalisa’. The author ends the book leaving the readers in the state of imagination.

There’s something about this kind of books that I keep going towards them every now and then. Maybe it’s the need to read a reflection of reality or maybe it’s the desire to dig deeper into the society I’m living in. Anyhow, I hardly come back regretting any such reads.
Atul Khanna covers a lot, from the everyday problems of an Indian citizen to politicians and everything in-between. We get to know about our Economy, the changes in people’s lives due to actions at the grander scale. How politicians and economy map out the society we live in and also, how is it all evolving over time.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure if the book would be able to keep me hooked into it, though I’m glad that my assumption was proven wrong thanks to the integration of the topics discussed and their connection with our lives was a healthy addition too.
The creator examines in insight regarding the holes in the present framework on every single office and arrangement required to patch up the equivalent and top off the holes in the most ideal way. There are additionally talks around the ascent of a couple of national pioneers like Dr B.R. Ambedkar, Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Indira Gandhi and some more. He centres around their commitment to improving India as a country and calling attention to their blemishes which influenced the country’s advancement. We get to know about our Economy, the changes in people’s lives due to actions at the grander scale. How politicians and economy map out the society we live in and also, how is it all evolving over time.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure if the book would be able to keep me hooked into it, though I’m glad that my assumption was proven wrong thanks to the integration of the topics discussed and their connection with our lives was a healthy addition too.
The creator examines in insight regarding the holes in the present framework on every single office and arrangement required to patch up the equivalent and top off the holes in the most ideal way. The Title "Between You and Me: Flight to Societal Moksha " gives the indication that the author wants us to share some of his thoughts to the reader in form of the book which gives the readers an impression that authors wants to share those facts and details which most of us have neglected and may help us in the near future.

Between You and Me dwells into the societal problem which is prevailing from long before the country’s foundation is laid. Author has stressed about how great leaders shaped the country but still they too had loop holes and the promises made by them were not fulfilled. The promises to citizen passed from one term of the political party to the other.
The narrative style is quiet good, it’s like the book is actually doing the conversation which will make the readers hook to the book. Language is simple and it will not push the readers to hunch over the dictionary. Another great thing about the book is, it is well researched and lot of political, social and economic topic has touched upto great extent.
Author has expressed his hopes for better India and how we the people and constitution can join hands for country upliftment. The book is divided into three parts. The part one explains the leaders and their roles from time to time. Part two explains how the government model operates in our country, the economic statues and how one can contribute in the country by taking certain responsibilities. Last, part three tells how the goals are still far-fetched and why do we need a constitution which is not protected by law but also the law makers, politically active members and the society.

💚 My first ever governmental system oriented read. I must say it was very informative and also a challenging read for me.
In this book, author 'Atul Khanna' tries to awaken the young minds by insisting readers to think upon the running system of India. He very simply puts forward the notion that our country doesn't need a new driver, but a new car with a whole new system. 💚 'Between You And Me' makes you ponder beyond average as it is a deep and serious conversation about the society we are living in. Ranging from basic rights to health to education to corruption to agriculture to science, this book has it all. If you wish to have in-depth knowledge of current situation of India, along with it's solutions, Between You And Me is for you. 💚 I had a tough time reading this one because of my lack of awareness regarding, well, many aspects. For me, it was really complicated to understand the opinion of the author .This book will for sure require many sittings as the matter presented is impactful enough to give proper thought and time to each chapter. Readers have to let each opinion sink in and that takes time. 💚 I respect the time and the hard work given by the author to this bundle of knowledge. India needs to read this book. I hope it gets as many readers as possible.

⚫️ Well written and unique concept. ⚫️ Good use of vocabulary and language. ⚫️ I rarely like non fiction work and definitely I loved this one. ⚫️ Wide range of topics covered. ⚫️ And definitely I liked the opinion of the author on all these topics. ⚫️ I really appreciate opinion and mentality or we can say thought process of the author and we majority people should read and develop such to bring change in our country. Rather than blindly following rumours, news or social media publicity. ⚫️ Well explained concepts and to write this author has well studied everything. That is definitely being reflected in the book. ⚫️I loved the practical examples and also the examples given based on stories with moral. ⚫️ Language and concepts are written so beautifully that definitely made me high. ⚫️ I would love to reread and understand concept thoroughly. I had a really wonderful experience with this book. I'm not much into the political genre, but this book has my heart!
This book speaks about India's political, economical and social situation in the 21st century.
And though its has a political background, its not bias towards anyone or any party.
It just talks about the undesirable things and issues that India and Indians are facing.
The writing style was good, the narration too was done quite well.It keeps the reader engaged in reading it. A good use of vocabulary has been made, yet keeping the language simple.
The plot was fresh and strong enough to keep me gripped till the end.
The cover and the title are appropriately chosen.
The blurb does do justice to the content inside.
I liked how the author has taken into consideration all the topics from various walks of life.
My favourite chapters from this book are education and health services.
You're interest in reading it shall increase when you find a topic that appeals you the most.
Overall, this was a very interesting and an insightful read, it opens up the window to the many hidden issues that india is facing.
I'll definitely recommend you to give this book a try!

When we talk about changes, changes in society & the way it should be tops the list. The boiling issues faced by the modern society which need to be addressed is what this books mainly talks about. Author Atul Khanna has laid down points in the book in a beautiful way.
The cover of the book is simple, decent and looks professional. The cover does not reveal much about what the book is going to be like until you read the blurb. The font is quite readable and doesn't hurt the eye!

Being a political science and sociology student, I really was to connect with this book "between you and me" by Atul Khanna.
The book has various views about India, how it can be strengthen, the book discusses about the history of Indian politics and how we are being easily distracted towards a specific political family. The book has various other topics of importance, I agree to some things said by the author and it gives me a satisfaction of reading a well researched book.
Narration is good enough to hold till the last page, the content is well organized so that it doesn't disturb the rhythm of readers, the book has examples which are quite engaging and help us in understanding the topics.
I really liked the narration skills of the author and the way he has expressed his thoughts about things people are scared to speak about and the style of conversation between author and the readers.
This book has also helped me in understanding the political science in a better way, the book has quite an attractive cover of different type.

So far there have been many books on the plight of India’s social and political landscape. However, they were not that effective, nor the authors of those books did try to be conversational intellectually. Well, this non-fiction book by Atul Khanna is really an eye-opener and takes a firm stance on the changes that our society require most, more than political parties and their faiths.
The author has maintained a fine balance between the problems presented and then solutions provided, with a good logic. This makes this book more meaningful and relevant, full of right attitude. I fell in love when I discovered, quite early on, that our society is not based on merit, rather works on a corrupt system. The examples provided in the form of Karna and Eklavya was simply terrific.
Divided into three segments, the book has all that we, as a common man go through in our daily lives. Why the common man and the youth of the India has to pay the price for structural blunders occurred then, and even happening now. It is about time, guys. Though around 300 pages, but the expanse it covers, seems like a Saga of Indian society. Truly a deserving book. Great work by the author. I must congratulate him.

This book is about the economy, governance, Ancient India, Modern India, Administration, Science, technology, education, agriculture and the best part is he has discussed about the greatest personalities in India which everyone need to know. A lot of unknown facts i could know.
Book is divided into three parts. In part one, he has described about ancient india and modern India by giving few examples like ekalavya and karna on the other hand in modern India he has put examples of great personalities like Mohatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Neheru and many others. As a whole India can be mapped through our eyes. Part two consists of governance models, administation , case of jammu and kashmir, Science and technology, healthcare etc. He has touched each section carefully. It is one of the toughest yet enriching book that I've read in recent times. Toughest because it took me a while to absorb the author's perspective and enriching because despite being the toughest, the content kept me intact. The book is full of knowledge, even if you understand politics and bureaucracy, there's still a lot more that you can learn through this book.
This book is based on the working of our government system, its problems and its solutions. The book starts with the story of Eklavya and Karna. The thoughts that the author has upon them is something that ran in the back of my mind too.
With a lucid language and a clear vision of the author towards creating a better India, this book becomes a must read to whosoever looking to understand India better.

'Between You and Me - Flight To Societal Moksha' by Atul Khanna is an informative read regarding the constitution of our nation. It puts forward the most important question to the citizens i.e., regarding laws and their enforcements ( which isn't strong in our country). Also, the eligibility of a candidate to represent his/her state is brought into limelight as people being blindfolded by vows, votes the wrong candidate with having least knowledge of their credentials.

The governance models based on social, constitutional, economic and administrative structure were conceptualised in the nineteenth century or earlier and were executed in the twentieth century. India is our setting, but the problem is universal. This book challenges the existing structures and provokes the youth to think out of the box to combat such challenges.
The book starts with refrences from history about Karan and Eklavya, to show how immemorial the society has been unfair to the most deserving. The book is regarding the constitution of India. It is divided into three parts. The author has analyzed multiple issues faced by the citizens of India. The book provides theories for a new structure to thrive in this current democracy.
The book is well-written and well-structured. The writing style of the author is wonderful. It was like a conversation between author and the reader which made the book easy to read. The language of the book is lucid and gripping. This book was overall a very good reading.
