Another Good story from Shelton family. This Time it's Katie's story. She left Her Town after some traumatic events from The past. What had happened and how is it connected to current events?
Then here comes Secret Service agent who does not understand/get keeping someone on The arm length. But stakes are high and same goes for tension between Them.
Will Katie manage to open? Id he The one for Her?

Bound is book 4 in the Supernatural Investigation Agency series and also one of MANY in the Lick of Fire series. I have not read the latter, so can only judge on the former. Though it could POSSIBLY be read alone, I'm afraid there is quite a bit that would be lost if you haven't read at least the two books before this one (Shadows and Secrets and Dark Desires). Just a heads up. Immortal Ties was my favorite of the series, so don't skip it, even if you technically can. ;)
The series is primarily based around the Shelton family who are all part fire demon and an interesting bunch. Bound is Katie's book. Katie is Paige's (from Dark Desires) older sister and Rae's (from Shadow's and Secrets) cousin who was apparently an SIA agent all along but just didn't tell her family. She has some issues. As with her kin, she has some emotional issues for sure, though hers come from a different place. As a character she definitely makes you feel the feels, but she also infuriates you with her stubborn mule-headedness.
Katie's match is Brax Lane, a Secret Service agent and yet another fire demon who is assigned to the case Katie is leading in Maxxan. I enjoyed Brax's personality pretty much whole hog. He was cocky but kind and as determined as any man can be. Since Katie is Katie (see above description), that's pretty much a necessary.
Bound carries on the series overarching plot of both Gunslinger/Red Witch hunting and the insane experiment happy Ridgeway mystery. The story involves Rae and Jordan heavily, and that was fun. Also, more time with Bear the hellhound. Who wouldn't love that? The story has a lot of emotional turmoil that never really slows down, a good dose of action, some fiery flaming goodness from our resident fire demons, a helping of steamy romance, and the solving of at least one of our main mysteries. I'm not sure if there are meant to be more books, but we didn't wrap everything up when all was said and done.
My favorite part of the book was probably Duke, Katie's best friend. He was fun and definitely a good counterpoint to the rest of our more serious cast (excepting Rae, of course). I wouldn't mind seeing more of this series as I'd like to see more of the cast. The story got four stars because there were a few questions that got 'lost' as best I can tell and never answered, as well as being written in first person with only the female lead's perspective. I would really have enjoyed some of the male's sides of the story. Overall a fun read. I suggest you read them all. ;)

Lick of Fire Series:
Bound #3 - Another fast paced and action filled addition to the series. The storylines are intriguing and the characters and emotions run the gamut. This probably a little darker book since there's a loss of a child that Katie must deal with. Plenty of sexual tension and there's humor. Dark Desires remains my favorite of the trio. 5*
Shadows & Secrets #1 - She's immature, but she grows on you. I love Bear, I'm glad he's in the story. Another fast paced, action filled, intriguing PNR with an interesting twist on vampires. The characters are developing as the pages unfold; sometimes the dialog's silly, but realistic for the story type; and the plot is intriguing. I'm looking forward to the rest of the trilogy from Ms. Hinchey. She has reduced her use of vulgar language, I'm happy to say, and there's the usual sex for those who care. Jane includes a little background about this series and its future. 5*
Dark Desires #2 - Except for her unreasonable jealousy fit, she's a pretty good character. And there's plenty of sexual tension between her and her vampire. Fast paced and action filled, this story follows a vampire killer and the troubles she gets into because of her father's teachings. The plot contains a few interesting twists, and as much as I like Shadows, I like this one the best so far, but I haven't read Bound yet, the third book of the series. There are sex scenes and a bit of political correctness preaching, but still a very enjoyable read. 5*

This is Katie's story and it starts with her return to Maxxan to lead the search for Keri Ridgeway and stop her experiments for good. Her initial attempt at a one night stand does not go well. She finds herself wanting to stay and explore instead of escape and run. This man could be her undoing if given a chance.
Renovating her grandmother's cabin for a SIA headquarters for the area, catching up with old friends, finding out her one night stand is a Secret Service agent she has to work with....being home is not all bad. Katie has unresolved issues that resulted in her leaving town in the first place, and she is determined not to resolve them with a Brax bandaid.
Brax does not know what he was expecting when he came to work a SS job in Maxxan, but if sure wasn't the hot Fire Demon woman he picked up on his first night in town. Getting to work with her is a chance to further his agenda, which is more Katie in his bed, or wherever. First, though, he has to figure out why she is determined to keep him at arm's length, and help her wrap up her first case as an agent-in-charge. But he will take any chance he gets to convince her he means it when he says he wants her.

The hunt continues for the rogue supernaturals who are wreaking havoc on the town of Maxxan. This story follows Katie Shelton who is a SIA agent and in charge of the new base in her hometown Maxxan. Along with fellow family and friends she will give it her all to find the threat to her town and family. Along the way she encounters a sexy Secret Service agent that gives her more feelings than she can take. Will she be able to take out the threat and heal her broken heart in the process? If you’re looking for another action packed and sexy paranormal read I would highly recommend this book! It can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment I would suggest starting with book one, Shadows & Secrets. Excellent writing and storytelling!

I have loved every single Shelton family book, and this latest is no exception. We get Katie’s story in this one, and my heart broke for her as her back story is revealed. However, Brax was the perfect partner for her, both in life and in her work to make her life more complete again. Really, everything was great: the story, the romance, and the fun. I hope there are more books because I’ve just come to love the whole universe and the family and would love to visit them again. Oh, and yes, we do see the others in this book, too, which was very nice to see them working together. If you love paranormal romance give this book and series a try; you don’t need to have read the previous book, but I think you should just because they are wonderful. Highly recommend! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.

Another Shelton cousin burns bright in this third installment of the Lick of Fire entry by Jane Hinchey. Katie Shelton is a fire demon with the SIA with a painful past that has closed her off to love. Brax Lane is a Secret Service agent assigned to work the case, too, much to Katie’s surprise. Drawn to each other like opposite poles of a magnet, will they be able to stop the evil Dr. Ridgeway and her dastardly experiments once and for all? And in ending this evil, will she open up to the love she so richly deserves? Can Brax help her heal and accept the love he has felt for her at first sight? Read this well-written, action packed and passion-filled story to find out. Highly recommended.

Still suffering the losses in her life, Katie was reluctant to open her heart again. As a CIA agent, Brax Lane had a mission but also a desire for the elusive Guardian that was fighting her second chance to love. With the threats on the loose gathering who knows what, no one was safe. Action, suspense, intriguing characters, a mystery yet to unveil, romance, a heated passion. Liked the twists in the story and the secondary characters that added to the intrigue and suspense. The Shelton family has mystery, magic and power. Waiting for more stories of them.

Another great read by Jane Hinchey. She once again brings an intriguing story with strong characters. In this one it's Katie coming home to protect her family and meets Brax , a secret service agent. It's an interesting story , moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading. Highly recommend this book.

This is another addition to the series and they just get better. Katie who is a fire demon is a fantastic character and I loved the chemistry she had with Brax. As the two hunt the bad guys they are joined by Jordan and Rae. All super naturals working for an agency that protects from the bad super naturals. Loved it and look forward to more Shelton fire demons. I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received.

The writing by Jane Hinchey never seizes to amaze me !
This time Fire Demon Katie is back and trying to deal with her demons from 4 years ago.
She is a Shelton afterall and very resiliant.
Brax is the perfect compliment to her.
We also get to see some of the previous characters which is great.
What I loved about Jane Hinchey's writing is the right combination of intrigue, action and
romance.
It keeps you wanting to read more.

This was a nice continuation to the Shelton family adventures. Katie struggles with an event from her past while trying to figure out why so many people have went missing lately in Maxxon. We meet new characters as well as some old favorites. The tension and banter was fun. The pacing is decent. The ending is overall satisfying. I'm definitely curious to see what other fun stories come from the Shelton family. I am voluntarily reviewing this book, gifted to me by the author, with no obligation.

Suspenseful and entertaining
the story of Brax and Katie was on fire with chemistry between the couple, and the case they were working kept me on my toes, trying to keep up with all the twists and unexpected turns. It was funny in all the right places, sexy in others, but held enough content to keep me guessing. And I LOVED the ending. So unexpected!

A wonderfully fast paced and action filled addition to the series. This time we get to see Katie's story and everything she has to go through with Brax. I felt so sorry for Katie when her backstory was revealed. I love the universe that the author has created and really hope that there will be more stories set in it. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I read this in one night as once I started I couldn't stop! I love the Shelton family, and Katie is no exception! Bound was a great end to the Shelton family series. This book also had Rae and Jordan from Shadows & Secrets which was a welcome addition (I grew to love them in the first book). Katie wakes up from a one night stand to learn later that it was one, Agent Brax Lane, Secret Service, and her new working partner! And the chemistry is hot! Together, Katie and Brax, along with Rae and Jordan are out to capture the paranormal criminals. I also love Duke, Katie's old time best friend. He brings fun to the story. Well worth the read!

I have read both the previous books in Jane's trilogy in the Lick of Fire series and loved them. This is the final book in the trilogy but not the last, I hope, that we will see of the Sheltons, the SIA, and Maxxan and Redmeadows.
Katie has been a character on the periphery in both Shadows and Secrets and Dark Desires, part of the Shelton family but not involved in any of the events so far. This time, she is centre stage and we learn how a tragic event in her past has shaped her current life and made her withdraw from her family, her home town of Maxxan, and life in general.
Katie is a strong woman but she is just existing. not living, until an incredibly hot and incredibly patient man enters her world, knocking her for six. They have to work closely together to keep her family safe while she fights her attraction for him but Agent Brax Lane really is irresistible.
We also catch up with Rae and Jordan, who work alongside Katie and Brax in this story, and find out just how happy they are together, and how much Rae loves her new job in the SIA.
As we have come to expect from this world that Jane has created, there are thrills and chills, lust and love, and appearances from old enemies and new characters. I especially liked Duke, the best friend we'd all like to have!
All three books stand alone but you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't read them all.

I loved this book. It is intriguing and engaging. This book is full of action and adventure. I love the characters. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
