From NYT Bestselling Author, JA Huss, comes a new sexy standalone in the Jordan's Game series. Augustine Braden fell in love with two men in college and was forced to choose… but now she wants them both.
Augustine, Alexander, and Jordan were in love until Jordan left LA to start over in Colorado. And even though many years have passed since then, and many stories have told about what really happened—the true story has never come out.
Until now.
She and Alexander have come to Denver try again and they won’t leave until they get Jordan alone one… more… time.
But Jordan wants more than just Augustine and Alexander. He wants his best friend’s forgiveness.
He can’t move forward until he goes back.
He can’t find love until he admits who he’s really in love with.
Jordan Wells is about to play his final game. The only question left is – will he be the winner?
J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.
After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.
So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.
She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.
Once again, this was not at all what I thought was going to happen. Not only did this feel like a cat and mouse chase, the cat and mouse kept switching places only to end up finding a bigger predator at the end. I really like how this author can set us up to believe one thing in previous books only to say "Nope. You have no idea what's really happening." I'm enthralled every time. I've learned that I like puzzles and clues and piecing it all together. Although, I don't think I'm actually piecing it together, I'm just waiting for the author to reveal each piece one at a time. Either way, I enjoy the ride. Sorry for the vague review but honestly, I don't think I can explain it if I tried. ARC provided by the author.
When it comes to a JA Huss novel I feel like I sound like a broken record. It’s full of twist and turns, sexy times and a plot that I can’t ever seem to figure out. Completely unpredictable. The same can be said about Play Dirty. But this book was also a million other things.
I want to preface this review by saying that Play Dirty, although the fourth in the Jordan’s Game series, can be read a standalone. Each in this series is considered a standalone – but I am a huge fan of this author, so that means I one-click and read as they get released – so I went into Play Dirty having known Jordan over the course of six prior books. And that knowledge impacted my reading of this book.
When Jordan first surfaced in the Turning Series I did not trust him. Not for a single moment. He appeared to be manipulative and thrived on pulling strings behind the scenes. By the time got to his role in His Turn, although we saw a glimmer of something else with him – I still could not get to a place of trust. By the end of that story, I was all about Lawton Ayers (The Boyfriend Experience and #MINE).
Over the course of the three prior books, we don’t get a lot of Jordan. We get little bits, but those ended up causing me to mistrust him even more. I had faith that my feeling would shift – I mean this was a side character in three books who was important enough to become a feature – there have to be some redeeming qualities, right?
This was my mindset. Six books in and I still could not trust the guy. Manipulation and mind games were his MO and he seemed to have access to pull some pretty big strings. So I was shocked to find that as Jordan’s story unfolded, that I was choked up. That I was torn between doubt and pity for him. There was something at the root of his behavior and it just made every single thing click into place.
Now in Play Dirty, JA Huss brings the heat with a reluctant three-way relationship. Alexander and Augustine are from his past, a college tryst that ended in deceit and betrayal. And as much as this story focuses on the here and now, the whole story is all about making up for a past transgression and realizing that even the puppet master has someone pulling his strings. The scenes were fantastic. I loved the slight m/m vibe and I really hope one day this author will fully fall over that line and go all in.
I didn’t expect the ending of this story – I never thought I would feel bad for Jordan. But in the end, I realized that so much was out of his control. A few moments shaped who he was and changed the direction of his life. A man, who lusted for the erotic but craved loved. A man who craved the club so he could be free for the few moments within its walls.
I must hand it to this author. I had so many doubts about how I’d feel about Jordan after being so leery of him for so long. But he won me over completely. In closing, I got all the answers I needed. The mystery of Jordan felt solved and now I look back at the prior roles he played and can’t help but wonder if the clues were there all along.
The master game player finally gets caught up in his own game and every step of the way kept me intrigued. I never knew what was going to happen, what was motivating the players and if anyone else was involved. This story has so many twists and turns that I couldn’t set the book down until I knew all the secrets that had forged Jordan’s life. And oh man are there secrets.
This is a menage that is not really my thing but if done right I can accept it. I appreciated these characters and their struggles but I did have a hard time feeling a true emotional connection between them other than what they had shared in the past. There is certainly plenty of steam and chemistry between all three of them but Jordan was floundering as he was forced to confront his past and how that had affected his present self. I actually hurt for him and wanted him to find peace not within a building but within himself.
Overall, this was a great book! Huss knows how to dangle the bait in front of you before springing the trap. It’s a tried and true method she uses repeatedly and even though I know it, I freely walk into it each time.
Honestly, this one was a tad bit streched out in the storyline and the very plot was overwhelming with deep, deep underlayers but without the basic pillar to hold the fortress of the one final master game.
It was all too deep, too quickly, and the revelation of Jordan's childhood traumas that really mold him into a mastermind player and the master game organizer was just a little overbearing...too many subplots, too many characters taking their turns and pieces of the gaming cake, just didn't feel too deep to me, no mater the layers peeled...*shrugs again*
Oh why oh why did I swallow the fly? Huss is one of my top five authors. I picked this up, greedily thinking I could just read and enjoy. No the mindf*ckry was so intense. My God.
J.A. Huss definitely saved the best story for last. Jordan Wells' story was a lot more complex than I thought it would be. Like them plot twists had me all the way fucked up! But I loved how everything worked out in the end and that Jordan finally got the ending he deserved.
You don't upend your whole life for a gamble like this and then suddenly pull out at the last second. You fuck that bitch hard and come inside her before you finish.
Yep. That sums it up. Play Dirty is Jordan's story. Finally. After all the games and all the books and all the secrecy and quiet and questions. This. Is. Jordan's. Story.
It's everything you want it to be. It's everything you've been waiting for. There are players you didn't see coming. There are games in play that you didn't know existed. There is so much happening.
And all you're going to want is for Jordan to get his HEA. I mean, Bric, Quin, Smith, Ix, Law, and Finn all got their very own HEAs. A lot of those came at the hands of Jordan. So, you are pulling for this man to get everything he wants and needs and desires.
This is the perfect fourth book. This is the perfect story for Jordan. This is the one we've been waiting for.
Well I am completely gobsmacked. Much like Jordan Wells felt as everything he once assumed turned out to be anything but. I knew his story would pack the biggest punch and I am here to say that it did and that J.A. Huss is the true game master here. She weaves a story that had me going in so many directions I was sure it would end just as it started: with Jordan reclaiming the Turning Point Club and he could go back to enjoying his kinky life once more.
But even as the first 50 percent or so was the almost tiresome (yet wildly intriguing & exciting) charade of Augustine and Alexander Barkos trying their hardest to win back Jordan for their very own, I just knew there had to be a twist or two up the Author's sleeve still yet to come. And boy was I not disappointed. I wouldn't dare give anything away but can say with the utmost of sincerity, that this book became so much more than just a game. I even teared up as Jordan realizes he's not alone after all. That he has some truly wonderful friends. All there for a man I couldn't even stand in The Turning Point series (the one before Jordan's Game)! But damn if I didn't love him despite his ever-present sarcasm and penchant for messing up numerous lives with his twisted games. But we get to see below the facade and in the end, he's just a man who finally realizes he can have it all, just not the all he might've expected.
There are numerous secondary characters from both series who make appearances that are well-timed although also painful at times. And the true star who doesn't like to be told to go back to the kitchen any longer pulls off the biggest surprise of all. The ongoing buildup to secrets revealed and minds blown together with some exquisitely erotic M/M/F sex scenes and some hot as hell M/M kisses and you've clearly got yourself the perfect summer read.
I can only hope we hear more from all the characters in both series since they are far too wonderful not to have another turn. Play Dirty is such a great way to end this quartet and I'm very happy to give it a solid 5 stars!!
This was so far from what I expected in the last standalone of the Jordan’s Game series. It was definitely steamy and carnal and all kinds of fucked up—as what you’d expect from a J. A. Huss novel—but I don’t think I realized how broken and damaged and so damn lost Jordan Wells truly was until I read this. We may have known him as the game master, but all along, was he really?
When we first met Jordan and have seen his kind of kink, I’ve always wanted to know his back story. I wanted to know what happened to him and what made him the way he was. Because Jordan Wells was a good guy—we’ve been shown quite a few times the things he’s willing to do and how far he’d go for those he cared about—but he does these things in his own screwed up way.
Play Dirty isn’t your typical ménage kind of romance. It talks about the possibility of loving more than one person at one time and being in a plural relationship, but this story doesn’t stop there. There was so much more going on beneath the surface. If you’ve read the previous books in this series, and even the Turning series, you’d already have had a glimpse of Jordan, the lifestyle he’s addicted to, and the huge question mark that is his past. And this book—it gives you an all-access pass to fill in the blanks you’ve had about this guy.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved getting to know Jordan, but I wanted so much more from this book—I wanted to know more of where that epilogue would’ve led to. For some reason, I felt like I was left hanging after reading that part. Like I missed a couple of chapters. But nevertheless, I was still kept on my toes the whole time, trying to connect, comprehend and put together the puzzle pieces of Jordan’s complicated life, all that he’s been through, and what Alexander, Augustine and Ixion really mean to him.
Once again I am left in awe of the tale that Julie has spun with Jordan's story. I knew from the very beginning of meeting Jordan back in the Turning series, that he was going to be intriguing and complex and that what we saw on the surface was not going to represent even an Nth of who and what he was. You know those pictures you see of an iceberg sticking out of the water which makes it look like it's small and harmless, but then you see the HUGE chunk under the surface that is the most dangerous part? Yeah, that's Jordan.
Throughout this series, we've seen bits and pieces of Jordan in each book, because he's the game master, right? And in each book, I have absolutely marveled at how he has pulled off each of the games he's orchestrated. Hell, with half of them it felt like there really wasn't a game in place at all, that shit was just happening to these women, incredible shit that there's no way it was planned out, but by the end you discover that yep, that was all Jordan. He planned it all. And in my head I see Jordan, BOOM! huge mic drop, and he walks off into the sunset with a big smirk on his face. Like I said, the game master. Until events start happening in Jordan's life that make him start feeling like HE is being played.
Before I go any further, I want to mention that although this book is a standalone in the series, it would be really helpful if you have at least read Total Exposure: Jordan's Game book 1. A lot of what happens in Play Dirty relates back to events learned about in that first book. Augustine and Alexander, characters we first learned about in Total Exposure, come back to town and want Jordan to be a part of their lives again. But Jordan, the lawyer, wants to know why, after eight years, they've finally come back. Or maybe it isn't lawyer Jordan, maybe it's just Jordan, the guy who screwed everything up all those years ago. And I can't mention Augustine and Alexander without talking about Ixion, Jordan's best friend from childhood. He's back because Jordan needed him to play the Total Exposure game, so is it just a coincidence of timing that they happened to come to Denver shortly after Ixion got there? Is it possible that Jordan will be able to make amends with all three of the people he screwed over eight years ago?
Julie takes the reader on a twisted path of events, things happening that make Jordan question everything at every turn. Why are Augustine and Alexander really back? Have they truly forgiven him for events from the past? What even got him started creating these games in the first place? What is it that he truly wants in life? Can he even answer that question? I admit, I figured this book was going to be one big sex fest between Jordan, Augustine and Alexander. And while there was sex to be had, it was not the focus. The true focus, the whole nucleus of Jordan's story went down a path I was not expecting at all.
You could have knocked me over with a feather when the truths were all revealed. When events from Jordan's past were pulled from the depths of his memory. Making Jordan question everything that has occurred in his life from the time he was a pre-teen. Causing Jordan to see things for what they really were, once he actually focused on them. And ultimately showing him who the true Game Master was. But most importantly, showing him what he really wanted and what he needed for his life to be absolutely complete.
Jordan may have been the Game Master, but Julie is the Story Master! No matter how much I try to predict how a story is going to turn out, I end up being wrong every time! Jordan has been around for quite a few books now, so I felt like I had a (somewhat) good read on him, and I felt like I knew what actions he would take once Augustine and Alexander started pursuing him. Create the ultimate game, one that would have a 100% success rate at getting HIM what he wanted. Is that what ends up happening? The end result is what Jordan wanted, but the path that leads him there is one twisted ride that you have to take for yourself. Strap in and hold on tight!!
Play Dirty was so different than the first three books of the series, Jordan’s Game. In the other books I knew Jordan was the Game Master, the Puppeteer, the String Puller, the Man Behind the Scenes. You catch my drift? In the other books I was so sure I knew what was going on. I have to admit I was always wrong, lol, but at least I ‘thought’ I knew. But in Play Dirty, I had no clue. Not one clue. Was it Jordan’s Game or was he being played, if so, by whom? The phrase that kept reverberating in my mind as I read was “I dunno”. For those who’ve read the book, you know exactly what I mean. In Play Dirty we saw (read about) a different Jordan. More vulnerable. We got to know about his past and what shaped him into the man he became. I was shocked by what enfolded and what was brought to light. Wow. Just wow. And the ending? O.M.G. Who’d a thunk? And you what else? I read the epilogue over and over again. I.Loved.It. Oh yeah.
Now for the EOBS (End of Book Shit) or what I think of as the cherry on top, or to be literal, the cherry at the end, but on top sounds sexier. I think of this as the inside scoop told by the author to me. I live for the EOBS because there’s always a bit of inspiration that is lying in wait for me. Always.
Thanks to my fave author for giving me another 5 Star book.
Jordan has been the puppet master. The one pulling the strings. Manipulating the pieces. He even played the notorious Elias Brickman. But sooner or later the thrill is gone. The past beckons when the promise of the present loses its thrill.
That's Jordan's head space when we open Playing Dirty. He past personified comes to town in the form of the love of his youth, Augustine - AND Alexander. IT'S CALLED PLAY DIRTY. DON'T ACT ALL SHOCKED ABOUT THE MENAGE. But he never did love Alex. He was just a condition to be met to hold onto Augustine - which he didn't. Of course it ended badly and all that baggage is standing between Jordan and the cure for his ennui - The Turning Point Club. Alex and Augustine own it and Jordan thinks it will fix the gaping hole in his life.
So he proposes a game. Because he'll win of course. After all, he IS the game master.
Yeah RIGHT?! This is a JA HUSS book people. You know what that means. Layers of manipulation. A roller coaster ride of intrigue. Lots of angst, angry sex, and kink. The Mistress of Twisty delivers on all counts. If you love The Turning series Jordan's story is the perfect epilogue and it will scratch all of your dirty little itches.
Finally! We finally get Jordan’s story. We met him way back when in the Turning series and have seen him playing games in the Jordan’s Game books, but now, now we get his story! And in true J.A. Huss fashion, expect the unexpected because nothing is ever what it seems!
Jordan left California years ago. When he left, he left Augustine and Alexander behind for good, or so he thought. Now they are back and they want Jordan back in their lives. The question for Jordan is, why? Why now after all these years? Now Jordan is reevaluating his life. After all the games he has played, who is the real game master?
I devoured Play Dirty. I was not sure how I felt about Jordan from the first time we met him, but always, always found him intriguing. J.A. Huss did not disappoint in giving us story. Be prepared to go on a journey full of twists and turns! How will it all finally end? Though this is a standalone within a series of books, reading the Jordan’s Game books will be helpful and they are just so worth reading anyway!
4.5 stars! Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog!
Well, shit. Honestly, I spent the first two thirds of this read kinda scratching my head. My thoughts on it flipped as often as the pages, everything from being unsure if I was into it or not, to being luke-warm about the players and hesitant to buy into their connection (which, now that I’m finished, think was likely intentional on the author’s part). I spent equal time feeling for / cheering for Jordan as I did wanting to slap him upside the head. LOL. And then (as Julie is known to do) FUCKING BOOM! The last third arrived, shit got real, it just kept coming...and it was awesome! Jaaaaysus!! This book wasn’t what I was anticipating or expecting (for Jordan’s potential HEA), regardless, I enjoyed the hell out of it. And as for the Smith scenes - GOLD.
The Game Master finally gets his game on...or is it his game after all. So many twists, so many surprises.
JA Huss knows how to deliver satisfaction. Jordan's story was a fitting end to the series, but I have to say, I think Jordan was as surprised as we were. Way to go Mom!
Jordan Wells has prided himself on being the Game Master, but is he playing or being played? Over the previous books I've come to like and appreciate Jordan. The character is so richly portrayed, as a smart confident lawyer with singular tastes and a penchant for doing good deeds. August and Alex make him wonder if he has moved on, but something just doesn't ring true with their story.
This plot line just twists and turns. Jordan's backstory is doled out piecemeal keeping us entranced and turning the pages as fast as we can. It helps to have read the previous books but Jordan, Ixion, Chella and this suspenseful tale will have you sitting on pins and needles while capturing your heart.
Is everyone playing dirty, the suspense lasts till the very end
I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading Play Dirty. This was Jordan’s book and he never played by the rules. He made his own and I was both excited and nervous to read from his POV.
I knew going in that this was a m/f/m book. I thought there would be tons of sex but it was so much more than that. There was some sex but it wasn’t the major focus. I don’t even know how to describe what I read but I’ll say this-it left me wanting more when it was over.
I loved getting a glimpse into Chella, Smith, Ixion and Evangeline lives. It made me realize how much I miss them. Like I’m going to miss Jordan and his lovers. I don’t want to say who as not to spoil it.
I can’t get enough of Julie’s books. I really believe they keep getting better with each stroke of a key. I can’t wait to read what’s next and in the meantime I’m going to be pondering the what ifs...
Play Dirty is the fourth and final book in J.A. Huss’ Jordan’s Game series. All of Jordan’s games have had incredible twists and turns, but Play Dirty is one hairpin turn after another!
With every twist, the game master seemed to change. I was never sure who was pulling the strings and setting up the game. I should have seen it coming though, because Ms. Huss doesn’t have throw away characters.
Each book in the series is a standalone novel, however, Play Dirty does have cameo appearances from a few key players in this series. Play Dirty is an exhilarating ride that includes both mental mayhem and closure for Jordan Wells and his friends.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. For more reading recommendations, visit Book Junkie Reviews at https://abookjunkiereviews.wordpress.com.
Another great book from JA Huss. I love the journey she takes me on with every book. Every story is different and unexpected. Looking forward to the audio.
Hands down Julie Huss is the ultimate game master! This tale is woven so intricately and brilliantly. The conclusion to the Jordan's Game series takes Master Game Jordan Wells and throws him into a game where is he does not control the pieces this time. He is set up to be a player. Jordan has a goal that he is unwilling to let go of. When old lovers and friends return from his past a deal is set. He cares very deeply for these long ago friends but somehow everything seems off kilter. There seems to be a bigger picture that he is not seeing and that there is someone with serious power pulling the strings.
Jordan slowly but surely puts some of the pieces in place, coming to realize that he might not have been the one in charge at all. He uncovers truths about himself, his sexuality, and his loved ones that he didn't recognize a long time ago. There are deeply hidden secrets that are yet to be revealed.
Some many twist and turns, off the charts steaminess, and the magic that is Julie Huss's creative mind makes this a beyond 5 star read!
Holy smokes!!! Speechless. Yep, I did not see that coming, not at all. Just what the hell!?!? Who comes up with such a twisted plot and such dark minds?? If anyone is the master and knows how to play dirty, that is Julie!!
Up until this book I've never seen Jordan slip, loose his composure and temper. I loved seeing him vulnerable and second guessing everyone and himself included. It made him so real because I always put him on a pedestal, no one even dares to play with him. And I always wondered who will be crazy enough to do it.
I felt that Augustine and Alexander are too weak players to stand a chance and exactly like Jordan I had that feeling in the pit of my stomach that something big is coming. Because that build up was excruciating. Julie didn't spare us at all. But never in a million years I would have thought of what was yet to be revealed!!! Taking a bow, miss Huss.
Every single time I read a JA Huss book, I think, 'there is no way she can shock me anymore than she has before. It just isn't possible' and every time I am shocked beyond belief. Her stories are unique and never end the way you would expect them to. The guy might get the girl, but it is never easy and it most definitely is never conventional. I think that's what I like the most about her writing. Julie likes to add a flare that kinda resembles the chaos of everyday life.
I'm not saying that every aspect in her stories is normal, but the struggle for her characters to get from point A to point B to point C is an uphill climb and then a free-fall, only to have to climb back up the mountain again, just like in real time. Our lives are not easy, we have to climb, and fall, and climb again, just as Jordan Wells has done throughout the Turning Series, and as we have seen him struggle throughout this series, Jordan's game. Book 4, Play Dirty is Jordan's book, and is fitting that it is Jordan's story, told in Jordan's voice. He has much to say, and quite a story to tell.
Reading his words places you inside that whirlwind of an experience that his life has been up until this point. The shock and awe is ever present in the JA Huss story and is what keeps her readers so loyal. Jordan does find his kind of happy, but as always, its rough and unconventional, yet, a brutally perfect way to end this series
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book. OMFG! This has to be the best book of the series. I’m sad for it to end but Julie really outdid herself with this book. Everything we’ve been wanting to know about Jordan all comes together and is wrapped up tight with a huge bow. I pretty much sat there with my jaw on the floor in disbelief as to what was happening. Augustine and Alexander upend Jordan’s life and they are confusing him in a way that he doesn’t know up from down. He’s suspicious, leary, doesn’t believe anything they are saying, but he’s tempted and he wants it, but there is something holding him back. He’s a game master and he feels like he’s being played by them and others, but hasn’t quite put his finger on it. He’s trying to put things together but there are pieces missing from the puzzle and with help from his friends, maybe he’ll figure it out. This story is definitely my favorite of hers, we get a look into Jordan’s head, his thoughts, his fears, trying to recreate his past, his confusion, it’s a roller coaster of emotions, and his friends are right there for support. No spoilers, I floved this book, I highly recommend this book, you will not be able to put it down.
Oh Julie Julie Julie.... what can I say I haven’t before, even in person!! Her books are truly amazing... The way she can connect like FOUR different worlds and it doesn’t bother you at all because all you want to do is know more about everyone in there... well that really didn’t happen in this last book... but in the third... and those “other” worlds are other previous series... but still...
What I want to say if someone read this “review” is... READ THIS BOOK
While i found some really good books in the past weeks, i was waiting for the book that would make me over excited to read it and drag my kindle with me everywhere i go - and i do mean everywhere... except the shower because we all know how badly that can end. Play Dirty by J.A. Huss was that book.
I mean, i took this story with me everywhere, fought against my exhaustion so i could fall asleep past 9.30pm (because apparently i'm getting way too old and fall asleep at the same time as my 9 year old at 7pm), and HAD to finish this book because dayum, Jordan's story is fascinating. This man was an enigma from the beginning of the Turning Points series where i met him during his game with Bric, and i always wondered what makes him tick and why he does the games he does and for what purpose. What would they bring him? What would make him stop?
I haven't read the first two books in this series, so i don't know the entire back story between Ixion and Jordan, although i wish i had just so that i can really see what transpired in the past and then to get to where they are at this point in time.
There is so much power struggle going that it was fascinating. What was just as fascinating was watching him find his match in Augustine and Alexander - these two really know how to make you want to rage in frustration with their stories and their final reason on why they need Jordan.
I have no idea where this author will be going from this point - will we see any of these characters again? I have no idea, but one thing is for sure, these two series, Jordan's Game and Turning Point, are easily my favorites by this author so far, and i can't wait to see what she'll deliver next!
I don't really know what to think... This one was twisted as fuck and i'm still trying to put the pieces together because a lot didn't made sense to me. IMO there's not a real love story, it's messy and just fucked up and i didn't buy the end. I Feel like Jordan's story was a bit botched. And it resume the book for me.
Play Firty is the epic conclusion of the Jordan's game series. The darkest and definitely the most fucked up. For most of the book, I felt we were running in circles and couldn't figure out what was wrong in the dynamic between the characters. It felt like no progress was made, and the plot always changed but didn't even make sense either. Knowing JA Huss' way to build the craziest story, I kept going, determined to see this through. And man, she utterly blew my mind. The atmosphere got thicker, and Jordan's past finally made sense, but at what price? This conclusion is a true mindfuck, the way I like them. The depth of the Turning /Jordan's Game series revealed itself, and at the same time, I have the impression we have only been scratching it. Jordan's story is explosive.
I always wondered what his story was in The Turning series and his story was worth the build up. I absolutely loved this story. It shows you to always be true to yourself and proud of who you are.
