An anthology of original ghost stories in the ‘spirit’ of M.R. James, Sheridan Le Fanu and Charles Dickens, celebrating ominous foreboding and a creeping sense of horror and terror. Be warned, readers may experience a lingering sense of nameless dread. Not recommended for the faint of heart...
An excellent, eclectic mix of spooky tales, not all in the horror category, but quirky and creative. The first story, Fuel to the Flame by Allan Watson, is definitely my favourite and deserves pride of place for its macabre inventiveness. A few stories had odd punctuation which was a little distracting, but I recommend the collection to lovers of the genre.
Good mix of stories, among which is a story I wrote a while ago called Burglar Repellent - it's about that vanished breed the Sloane Ranger, and their expectations coming to nothing.
