Rachel has everything she needs in good friends, a job she loves in the hometown she loves, a man who doesn’t ask anything of her, and a box full of secrets in her closet.
Derek has nothing he wants in he hates his job at the family company, hates living in his small hometown, and has to watch the love of his life go on without him.
While Rachel works to maintain a controlled, if unsatisfying, existence that includes a hidden life, Derek makes plans to leave town and start a new life. God thwarts both of their plans and gives them a new opportunity to learn about forgiveness, trust, and taking chances.
Katherine Karrol is both a fan and an author of sweet, clean Christian romance stories about imperfect people with imperfect lives. Because she does not possess the ability or desire to put a good book down and generally reads them in one sitting, she writes books that can be read in the same way.
Her books are meant to entertain and even possibly inspire the reader to take chances, trust God, and laugh at life as much as possible. The people she interacts with in her professional life have absolutely no idea that she writes these books, so by reading this, you agree to keep her secret.

I first met Rachel in the first book of this series. I had to wonder why she seemed so sad. In this book we really get to know Rachel and all the things that she has been keeping hidden in her heart, and all the reasons why she felt she had to hide them.
The author did a great job exploring how past hurts and experiences can effect the way we think about ourselves and others, thereby determining how we handle life--why we do the things that we do. In this story, we were able to see how easily we can damage ourselves and others when we don't give things completely over to God. We also were shown how God is able to bring about good changes when we do hand everything over to Him.
There were a lot of little lessons and biblical truth in this book, along with the sweet story of Rachel and her love. I am looking forward to continuing in this series!
Trusting Again in Summit County (Summit County Series Book 2), my second read from author Katherine Karrol. If you enjoy Lorana Hoopes, Robin Merrill, or Naomi Rawlings you'll love this book and this series. Stand-alone books are fine but series books with recurring characters and places even more so. A must-read! No spoilers from me, read this book. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author as I get them., next to read New Beginnings in Summit County (Summit County Series Book 3) (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
This book really touched my heart! The characters are realistic. The Author did a really good job expressing the pain and hurt. Rachel and Derek both have issues to work through. They grow and learn about trusting God and one another!! This is a great read! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The characters are real, the writing is superb, and the stories are fresh, fun and entertaining. I love how each book builds upon minor characters in the previous book.
A huge misunderstanding has Derek and Rachel separated and broken hearted. Unfortunately, they keep running into each other in Summit County, and through a bit of prayer, support from friends, and divine intervention, they are able to find out what really happened all those years ago.
A sweet, Christian romance that is easy to read in an afternoon and has you hoping to read about more characters in Summit County.
Rachel battles to trust people and it is only when she decides to forgive that she realises that she too needs forgiveness. The open relationship that all the characters have with God is authentic and encouraging.
Loved watching Rachel and Dexter work through their past heartaches and misunderstanding. I look forward to reading more of their story as some things were left hanging.
