“You know my family. It’s full of secrets we’d never want the world to know…”

In the Great House of Collinwood Amy Jennings and David Collins are finally putting years of tragedy and loss behind them and committing to a life together. And, as the ceremony approaches, friends old and new are drawn to the town at the edge of the sea.

Once again, the tortured vampire, Barnabas Collins, is amongst them. But this time he is not alone. After so many years away, Doctor Julia Hoffman has returned with him, finally convinced she has the means to cure his affliction.

But joy and happiness never last long in Collinsport, for malevolent forces are never far away. Among those gathered for the celebration are some who would conspire to tear the family apart. In this town some wounds refuse to heal, some secrets demand to be heard, and some sins cry out to be punished.

Welcome back to Collinsport.
Until death do you part.

This was a fun little jaunt back into Collinswood.

I'll definitely need to find the rest of the episodes, as I rather enjoyed it. It very much had the old feel of the show.

Unfortunately I've waited nearly a month to do my review, so I can't actually remember much of it other than I enjoyed it.

A grand wedding at Collinwood is coming together and Amy Jennings and David Collins are very happy, but with old friends returning and new friends coming to town. Trouble isn't too far away...

EPISODE ONE:
This was a good way of setting up the series, introducing new characters and bringing back old ones, along with Julia Hoffman voiced by Julie Newmar. An enjoyable episode with a surprising cliffhanger. 8/10

EPISODE TWO:
When someone from the past arrives at Collinwood, the build up of tension begins. Whilst Barnabas and Julia have brought a mysterious crate into the old house. This was a good episode, already have the starts of a nice mystery going on, whilst something supernatural haunts Collinwood. 8/10

EPISODE THREE:
After an incident, Amy Jennings is sent into a hospital with injuries and loss of memory of how she came to be hurt. Meanwhile Cody has made a deal with a supernatural force. This was another good entry into the series. 8/10

EPISODE FOUR:
Amy Jennings out of hospital and in time for a drink with the girls at Collinwood. Meanwhile David Collins is at a bachelor party. The night will turn out to be full of surprises and happiness but soon the horror shall begin. This was an incredible episode with the return of Maggie Evans and also the return of a man David hasn't seen in years. This was a very fun episode that soon becomes very serious with a shocking cliffhanger. 10/10

EPISODE FIVE:
Wow, what an explosive episode this is! (quite literally) A very tense episode with plenty of consequences for the rest of the series. It seems even at a time that should be of love and happiness, that not all good things come to Collinsport. 10/10

EPISODE SIX:
It's the day of the wedding, the night is fast approaching and Amy Jennings and David Collins are very happy. Friends and family have gathered together to celebrate, but soon something terrible will happen. This was a brilliant way to end the first volume of this series with a shocking cliffhanger! 10/10

This is Big Finish's followup to their successful "Bloodlust" serial. Released twice weekly, "Dark Shadows: Bloodline" is a soap opera tradition of everyone coming back to town for a wedding and everything going wrong. This being Collinsport, the "wrong" usually involves the supernatural, although it's not quite clear who is responsible this time around. I don't think "Bloodline" stands alone quite as well as "Bloodlust" with all the new players around. I do love hearing the original cast members and seeing how they interact with the new ones. I can't help being intrigued by the return of my namesake Dr. Julia Hoffman, played now by Julie Newmar. And as someone that adored "Blood and Fire", I liked the questions about David's nature. Did he inherit any supernatural abilities from his mother? Is he having second thoughts about marrying Amy?

Say one thing: The twist at the end of episode 6 was quite impressive.

They really brought back the soap opera to this old soap opera. Still with elements of horror and all, but definitely soap opera! Love it!

Set in 1984; Jackie Tate discovers a mysterious box and Vivian Bell. Vivian Bell is Harry Cunningham's estranged mother. Julia Hoffman is back, but in Julie Newmar's body.

The mysterious box is delivered to Collinwood, to Barnabas. The Demon Rosier has returned to haunt Amy, but then settles on Cody Hill.

There's a new ghost in Collinwood. Barnabas goes in search of blood. There is a fight at the Blue Whale, and then the hospital catches on fire.

And then, at the wedding... what a cliffhanger!
