About the author

B.J. Daniels started her life in Houston, Texas, before her family moved to Montana at age five. She grew up in a cabin in the Gallatin Canyon near Big Sky and later on Hebgen Lake near West Yellowstone. Because of her love for Montana, most of her books are set there.
Born into a storytelling family, all she'd ever wanted to do was write stories. After a career as an award-winning newspaper journalist, she wrote and sold 37 short stories before she finally wrote her first book, ODD MAN OUT. Since then she has won numerous awards including a career achievement award for romantic suspense.
She lives in Montana with her husband, Parker, two Springer Spaniels. When she isn't writing, she quilts, boats and. makes rope/fabric baskets. She always reads, loving to lose herself in a good book.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the 9th book in the Code Red series. This book is fill of suspense and action. The romance is a second chance romance, and I found the romance to be a much needed break with all the action and craziness that was going on. I really liked the characters. I really enjoyed reading this book. If you loved Police Mystery/Action books then this is the book for you. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Loved the story. I was terrified about what was going to happen. Both Flint and Anna realized that they needed to change.

I really want to know who shot Lorna.

This is a book from a few years ago but I'd never read it and I'll read anything by this author! It had a lot of action as two men take over city hall to protest deaths of loved ones and everything goes sideways! Nothing about their plans work but they end up taking a lot of hostages. Anna and Flint work for the SWAT team and get into the room with the hostages & criminals under the guise of being medical professionals. Anna and Flint were once engaged but couldn't work things out so Anna moved away. She's back now and trying to show Flint that she can do a SWAT job - he always thought it was too dangerous for her. I liked the two characters together, especially how they worked things out. I really liked Anna's father and the way he took so much time to help her work through her issues from the past. A good story overall!

Hostage situation, second chance romance with a HEA …count me in. Great cover and blurb!

What did I like? Not my first by this author and definitely not my last. Four stars for a quick book with romantic suspense! Anna comes back to become a SWAT medic with the team that her ex leads. Sparks fly then an intense situation before a sweet ending. Loved it!

Would I recommend or buy? I’m becoming a fast lover of the books this author writes. Endearing and fun Anna and Flint go through the fire together!

CROSSFIRE is another suspense by B.J. Daniels of the Code Red series and a bonus story in Daniels' newest novel MURDER GONE COLD.

It took a hostage crisis for Anna Carson to realize her true feelings for Flint Mauro as they work as a team to defuse the tension and danger to keep the hostages alive. Wow, CROSSFIRE plunges this reader right smack in a hostage crisis, leaving me in suspense on what will happen next.
