Written in Stone is a rich, wandering and far reaching poetic encounter with land through the lens of the ground under our feet and the rocks that so characterize this stunning part of the world. An ode to one of Australia's iconic areas of natural beauty.

A great book, written by a geologist who describes the trips she takes to the area and the rocks and cliffs in great detail.
Full colour page photos as well.

This book is a gift! I wish I have bought it earlier. Its a must read for anyone who is travelling down the Great ocean road and wants to learn not just about its recent, human history. Its informative, yet written so beautifuly, it almost reads like a poem. You dont have to be an expert to read it, Philomena's explains regions geological history with such ease, I think this is a first time I got to fully understand what happened here all those millions of years ago and still happening to this day. This book really is like Great ocean road itself. You make it to the end, but you want to keep going, you want to see and know more ...

Great photos but not enough information for my taste, I would have liked more geological detail.
