I love stories. Spoken or read, they are powerful ways to not only learn something new, but also to entertain, inspire, uplift and connect people. If you love stories, too, this book is for you. The book is full of beautiful and touching stories by several different authors that each contain a gift. Whether it's someone sharing a profound life experience - like being with a cousin on her deathbed - or a simple, everyday occurrence that happens to be profound - like buying a tuna sandwich for a stranger - I saw myself in each one of these stories and discovered new ways of being. Each story drew me into the author's world, where I benefited from their personal experience and thoroughly relished being there. This book is a rare gem that shares the beauty of the human connection and reminds us what being alive is truly about.

As an author of a novel whose mission it is to make a difference in the lives of those faced with a horrendous terminal disease, I feel my stories-that-make-a-difference-detector is quite keen. Ariel & Shya Kane's new book is one of those. On page xviii, the following statement sets the tone for the direction readers can expect to go later in the book: "life will support you if you let it.

The format of the book is such that each brief chapter contains a story of individuals who were not afraid to be honest/transparent about their failed efforts to make the best of their lives. In Chapter 8, co-author, Shya Kane, states, "...everyone has a terminal illness - it's called life." So very true. Many are those who have lost a loved one and/or prior to receiving their own terminal illness diagnosis had the mistaken notion that there's always tomorrow, or I'll live my life to the fullest another day when erroneously convinced another day, and another, will actually be granted us.

Living in the moment - "bypassing the mind to find the moment" - is where Ariel & Shya Kane suggest true fulfillment lies. We can either live life as a victim or as its author and my friends, after sixty-five years of life, I can declare that for me, fulfillment exists in the here and now, not in the past or the future. The stories presented within the pages of Being Here...Too will paint a clear picture of what it is like to be buried in thoughts that wipe out any chance of the present taking center stage in one's life. Been there...done that...doesn't work for me..at all.

Seems a simple thought, but the Kanes provide clear evidence within the stories provided, that the present is all we have. I hope you won't let another moment go by before purchasing your own copy of the Kane's latest book offering.

This book is such a refreshingly enjoyable read, and yet also deeply profound. With each of the authors’ chapters, I enjoyed the pleasure of a fun or touching story, but I also saw new possibilities for how to go about my own life with courage and compassion. I felt lighter, freer and more myself after reading this book. It’s life-affirming, inspiring and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I really loved this book. It’s filled with stories from everyday people who have found satisfaction in their lives, simply by being in the moment. Each story is unique – from people who have dealt with the loss of a loved one, to dating, to family dynamics – they are real, honest and moving. Every chapter resonated with me and illuminated aspects of my own life; it ultimately left me feeling light and at ease in myself.

Full of short stories, this inspiring book is written by many authors who have discovered the experience of living in the moment, by attending seminars led by world renown authors, Ariel & Shya Kane. As I read (and reread) each chapter, I find I myself relaxing and enjoying my life - exactly as it is. This entertaining and enlivening book shows how easy it is to experience enlightenment. Yes! Enlightenment is EASY and PRACTICAL! I always knew it had to be possible for everyone, or anyone who is “searching” for it. Well look no further, the keys to well-being are in this book. I highly recommend this fun read that just may end your search, if you’re ready to find what you’re looking for.

These seemingly simple stories are profound. They share an approach to "being in the moment" that is not about meditation or "working on yourself" but rather, about listening and being of service to those around you. I was particularly moved by one story about a woman who visited her dying cousin. She realizes that her presence-- her simply presence, attention, lack of judgement or neediness-- was in itself, healing.

The people who shared thier stories are sincerely wonderful, but as a reader from the outside, I felt like it was missing a lots of guiding points. Everyone is this book had a revelation moments through, Say Yes to Your life simenars..but how and why, as a person who never attended these simenars, what is that am missing, I really couldn't tell..unfortunately I couldnt go further than 5 stories then I give up.
