This story had me in my feelings. Billie Grace Brice is a character. She had been through a lot in her 26 yrs. Witnessing her mother being killed by her father and spending time in prison, this poor girl was too afraid of letting love in her life. She used men only as a convenient release. That is until she met Leiland Greyson. He wanted Billie no matter how much she spurned him. He took his time in courting her to let her know that she meant more to him than a usual convenient lay. They both had goals in their lives that they were working towards and past baggage they both were dealing with.
BG was a raw down to earth filthy mouthed girl who did not take any crap from anyone. Both she and Leiland were falling hard for each other. Just when things seemed as though they were working out, the opportunity that Leiland had been working so hard for came through, but at what cost. Billie Grace could not handle the situation and as usual her mouth got her in trouble.
Tucora wrote an exciting story that had it's storyline ups and downs. I liked that fact that Billie and Leiland took their time with their relationship. That plot twist at the end though, had me gasping. I could not believe what happened. I'm glad I bought both books at the same time as I would have really been upset to be left hanging. I HATE CLIFFHANGERS! Anywway, with that said, I have a suggestion for the author. Since there are a host of songs listed in the book, it would be nice if a Spotify playlist could be made with a link published in the front of the book. It would make for an enhanced reading experience for your readers. Thanks for a wonderful book.
I had to force myself to finish this book. The heroine was beyond annoying and the hero would one minute be alpha and the next minute be passive aggressive. Plus the plot was all over the place. I feel like the author wasn't clear on where she wanted to go with the story. Hence, why the story ends really abruptly. On a side note, I still don't know if the business the heroine wants to start is a cereal, breakfast bar, food, accessories or what the point of the food truck was. That's how all over the place this story was for me.
Funny, modern and Leilani is just great. It was good to see BG become a much more likable person. However her last meltdown was epic. I know her grandfather is old school but it’s clear she should have had therapy. I guess what happened is that he had a seizure and fell but I hope it’s not the end of them. Awaiting book 2. I hope it will be soon Ps: some minor grammar issues will have to be fixed
3.5 I'm annoyed I didn't know it ends on a cliffy.
Leiland seems like a real good guy. He was able to tame Billie Grace. BG was such a brat sometimes. Leiland was so patient with her and at the same time he her know she wouldn't walk all over him.
It was a curve ball at the engagement party and that ended. Gosh I don't even know when the next book comes out argh
Good read, the life of Billie is a tragic experience for anyone let alone a child. Leiland, the possible love of her life but she may never know. This story reminds us the darkest of pain is sometimes the best pain. I hope these two give love a real try.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved Billie’s personality. She said how she felt. She went through some tough things in life but she was pushing through it. Leiland was good for her. They both had some things going on but they were working on it together. There were funny and emotional parts. Looking forward to reading part 2
Leyland is a sweetheart. Knew Billie was going to be his. Billie smh!!! Are so piece of work . Many times I wanted to choke her but at times you could see a softer version of herself. Looking forward for the next book?.
It took me a moment to get into it. It was a bit out of my element. When I did, I was suddenly reminded of a Walk to remember met with Save the last dance. I believe that you have an incredible gift on your hand and congrats on your debut book!
Billie was a piece of work in definite need of self reflection and therapy. She was a strong woman that hid from love until Leiland. He wouldn't compromise what he felt or needed for her.
Whew child! Billie is a hand full and then some! However sweet take charge Leiland can handle her and whatever she throws his way. Have you ever met someone and instantly knew they were the one but you also knew you had your work cut out for yourself? Leiland has the patience of a saint. Looking forward to part II
