Dan Brown Meets Hannibal Lecter "This novel's Caligula is a perfect nuanced, well-written, an iconic villain." San Francisco Chronicle
This novel is based on Gaius Caesar, Caligula, the mad emperor of ancient Rome - a book about this narcissistic, psychopathic killer cannot ignore the heinous facts which made him famous. Most of the book’s horrific, cruelly perverse, and murderous scenes are based on recorded events committed by Caligula during his four-year reign.
Caligula lived to kill. He lives again to kill again. Over and over, an immortal murderer. A madman with unlimited power gains crippled immortality. Each generation he is among us. Instant reincarnation provides endless lives for a never-ending reign of terror. Two-thousand years after Caligula's reign, Sarah Warner touches an ancient bust of a Roman Caesar and is reluctantly pulled into a deadly hunt. She slowly understands the truth and searches to find and kill the immortal emperor, not just his body, but also kill his soul. Closing in on the sinister, brilliant and paranoid serial killer of the centuries, Sarah becomes the hunted. It is kill-or-be-killed in an intense breakneck pace to the end. Caligula, unaware his presence in the twenty-first century is discovered, continues his luxurious life in the light while he sates his murderous appetite at night. He killed for two-thousand years, littering the centuries with tortured bodies. The mad emperor fears nothing. If caught, he ends a current life, knowing instant rebirth provides a fresh, innocent life to corrupt. --- 1805 - a thirteen-year-old son of slaves undergoes an immediate personality change and murders his friends along the Mississippi River. 1888 - A member of Europe's wealthiest family visits London regularly. After his final visit, the Whitechapel district murders stop. 2020 - Caligula lives in the body of a Saudi royal. After poisoning his family, he creates a personal, secret world where he unleashes the monster he is. --- "Imposing, dark, twisted – Peek gives us a true sense of malice few writers can muster." PW "It has been decades since I've read a character with the depth and evil of Peek's Caligula." Herbie Brennan, The Irish Times "It is a rare author who can truly write heroes and monsters equally well, Peek succeeds. The most original novel in ten years." SF Chronicle

Pat became a literary lion by the time he was thirty. Steve began writing semi-seriously in the 1980's. Now, for better or for worse, he writes full time. Steve traveled extensively and explored histories and myths of peoples and places all over the world. He loves all things ancient, mysterious and digs deep into lore and enigmas for his subjects. Difficult to classify his books, they are always reviewed as unique and fresh storylines with believable characters. Often, he can't help sprinkling a touch of humor in an otherwise serious scene.

Rome, 41 AD. Caligula has found a way to perpetuate his vile countenance for eternity when his dream of immortality becomes a reality with the help of dark magic and a good soul. To ensure that he will never be killed, the trapped essence of the merchant’s soul can never be reborn, or did the monster fail in his quest to end another generation of the merchant’s seed? For two thousand years, he came back, again and again, more depraved, more deadly and seemingly unstoppable. Until the day, the impossible happened and the one man who could destroy him came to consciousness again…
Steve Peek has created a dark gem of suspense and fantasy in CALIGULA REINCARNATE as one of history’s most depraved monsters comes to life again and again in this unique tale of reincarnation and retribution.
Far from a mere bloody tale, Steve Peek knows how to balance the gore and violence with moments that give readers hope that the latest incarnation of Caligula will be his last.
Original and fascinating but not for the faint of heart, Mr. Peek spares no quarter with explicit descriptions, taut moments and a twisted ride through time and terror. Nonstop intrigue from start to finish, this book has the power to hold readers in a death grip of its very own! Highly creative, highly recommended!

Gaius Caesar (Caligula) is the evil and sadistic emperor of Rome in 41 AD. With the aid of his magician, Okuni, his desire to become immortal will be a reality. And when Caligula dies, he will be reborn immediately; he will always be Caligula and he will always know who he is.
Author Steve Peek takes the reader on an interesting and sometimes harrowing journey in this unique multi-genre story where fact and fiction intertwine.
The characters are well developed and the story is well written. However, it is not a story for the faint of heart as there are some gory and disturbing sexually explicit bits. These scenes are not gratuitous but rather work to show the sadistic mind of Caligula.
I enjoyed this story though I found the ending a little rushed and it left me wondering if there was more to come.
Caligula Reincarnate: Killer with a Thousand Faces by Steve Peek opens in the first chapter with a gruesome murder, perpetrated no less than by Caligula himself, having been reincarnated into a young black boy's body. With this, the author successfully pulls the reader in, if only to enjoy more of the same in the following pages. However, this books takes many turns, some of them involve history, some involve a thriller aspect, some paranormal. If you believe in any part of reincarnation this book is fascinating, as it follows a dreadful killer in Caligula, while the author skillfully imparts historical knowledge as well. This book is a compilation of highly original concepts, rolled together in a gripping serial killer story, a madman reigns supreme, catapulting through time, until he must be stopped. Highly recommend for a book that is entirely unique and addictive.
WOW! This was such a wild ride! I wasnt expecting what I read. It did take me some time to get through it but not because it didnt hold my attention. I know the story of Caligula, his history so to speak. I dont know if I would call this a mystery book, or a thriller, or a ghost story. Maybe its all three rolled into one. This book was so different then anything I have read this year and I am so glad that I was able to get my hands on this. This was a true joy (if I can say that) to read this book.
This book was purchased by me after simply read a sample. The historical aspect with modern era protagonist is quite refreshing plus added blend of multiple times leads to page turner. I would like to read more from this author as his writing style is interesting with its character development arcs and relatable personality quirks. I must say that this isn't the read for anyone who doesn't have the stomach for depraved human acts. The title should be a warning enough if you know anything about ancient Roman history.
