True Love Never Dies!

Alone With You by Amanda Adams is the second book in this series and picks up where Crash and Burn ends.
Jake Walker and Claire Miller fell in love at a young age. But at seventeen he let her go and see the world.
Claire left Jake and her hometown to explore the world. She became an archeologist.
Now she´s back and Jake is determined to win her back.
But Claire is headstrong and stubborn. Will Jake be able to crack this hard nut?

Alone With You is asweet lovestory. A story about second chances and The One.
I liked the characters and their well deserved and hard earned HEA.
I give 4,5 Stars and thank you Amanda Adams!

Amanda Adams did not disappoint. This is a great story of a second chance love story. "Alone With You" can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend reading the series. Reading this book, I got all mushy inside from the brotherly love pouring off the pages. It showed that that it does not need blood to make a family full of love, laughter, tears. This story was well-written and well developed and is a must read.

It's a charming romance that readers get to see evolve when one-time loves, separated by their own foolishness, find their way back to each other when her father's injury calls Claire home. Once there she finds herself drawn once again to the boy who brought joy and protectiveness to her younger years until her dreams had her leaving him behind. Together again the issues that drove them apart still exist but being older, and hopefully wiser, they'll be willing to work together to reach their HEA in a romance that charmed me as well as frustrated me at times.

Jake Walker has felt lost since the girl he swore to marry when they first met as children left him behind to follow her dreams. For years he tried to forget her but no woman could ever measure up. He might not have been a monk all those years, but it was clear that no woman could ever claim his heart. Compounding that loss was the death of his adoptive mother and his role as her sole caretaker that broke his heart a bit more everyday that she lingered in pain. He was close to her as they shared a love of the land, a devotion to the ranch and horses that has him never wanting to leave. Claire's return brings him a bit of happiness, a feeling of rightness in a life that's been at a standstill, that has him putting his heart on the line for just a few weeks with her in his arms. Their time together is sweet and scorching, but what divided them before still exists as he wants a wife on the ranch while she wants a career that takes her all over the world. Jake's truly drool-worthy with a kind heart who knows how to make a woman feel special, gentle yet wild in the bedroom. Just when it looks like history will repeat itself Jake gets some words of wisdom from surprising sources as the Walker brothers prove that family is based on more than blood in a cheer-inducing conclusion.

Claire always felt separate from others until the day she met Jake and his brothers. She found a supportive group of friends and a boy who stood by her side as they undertook adventures throughout the countryside. That friendship slowly morphed into more but her dreams of traveling the world archiving artifacts had her leaving his love for her behind. In the years since she's led a life full of excitement but it's been a lonely one as she rarely sees her parents and no man has ever compared to Jake. Being back home is too much of a temptation to stay away from him though, so for a few weeks she'll indulge in every erotic interlude she can with him. Their time together revives painful truths, about themselves and each other, which are heartbreaking and leave their future in doubt until the very end. Claire's a strong-willed woman who knows what she wants. She's worked hard to get where she's at in her career so it's understandable why she's fighting so hard to live her dream. Her feelings for Jake are clear too but I was left frustrated by her not seeing how committed he's always been to her. She purposely hurt him with her words when she left all those years ago and is willing to play with his emotions knowing she's going to leave again. It's selfish and I'm glad it was pointed out to her.

This was a well-paced story full of emotional conflicts and a heartwarming romance with two strong lead characters. Jake may be a bit old fashioned in what he wants in a wife, but his life is full of losses, and a woman who stays at home would give him the stability he's always craved. When presented with the alternatives of loneliness or compromise Jake proves himself to be a swoon-worthy hero with a Grand Gesture that had me cheering. Claire frustrated me equally with her pigheadedness, and her stringing Jake along, but I still enjoyed her connection to him and the joy she brings him which had me rooting for them every step of the way. Surrounding these two likable characters was an equally entertaining cast of secondary ones. From Claire's parents who are the typical older farm couple to the sweet and supportive memory of Mama Walker whose words loom large over the narrative, these characters helped immerse me in the story. The brotherly banter and unwavering support of the Walker brothers further enhanced this story as each is colorful and sexy in their own way. From playboy doctor Mitchell to recently engaged lawyer Chance to bad boy Derek, they all offer Jake words of wisdom that opens his eyes to the rut he's stuck in emotionally as well as showing him possibilities. They're a charming and drool-worthy bunch who I long to see more of as they take a rocky road towards their own HEAs. Readers looking for a sweet and sentimental romance of second chances will find this a very satisfying read full of steamy encounters and a group of brothers whose exchanges had me smiling!

4.75 STARS!

Alone With You is the 2nd in the Walker Brothers series and I like it even more than the first, Crash and Burn. This time it's Jake's second chance with the woman he's loved nearly his whole life. Jake Walker and Claire Bell had been friends since she walked into their third grade class. Jake, though, fell in love with her then and there and had
"gone home that night and announced to his mother that he was going to marry Claire Miller and have ten kids and live on the ranch forever."
Alas, that was not to be because at 17, Claire broke his heart by announcing she didn't want the life he did, and took off for college and took his heart with her. Seven years later, she's back, to tend to her father as he recuperates from an injury he received while riding his horse. She hopes she won't have to see Jake again, but considering that they're boarding her and her dad's horses on Jake's family ranch...yeah, of course they see end up seeing each other again.

But, Jake is determined to have her again, even if it's only for the three weeks she's going to be in town. So when he proposes no strings sex for those three weeks, who is Claire to deny herself some sexy times with the man she has always loved? No matter that it will break both their hearts because nothing has changed between them. She still wants to be free to travel all over the world, digging up ancient artifacts. He still wants to live and die on his ranch, have a bunch of kids, and a happy homemaker wife waiting for him.

Yikes. Jake and Claire are a hot mess. They're both stubborn AF. Neither taking the time to think of compromises that could possibly save their relationship. Neither really thinking of the other. Only thinking with their uh, intimate parts, and their hearts. I wanted to smack both of them for their miscommunication, or lack of communication I guess is a better term. I wanted them to get their shit together and talk things out instead of just having sex and dying each time they thought of her leaving.

But through it all, I loved Jake. He's such a sweet lug of a guy. The one brother who stayed home and took care of their mother as she lay withering away from cancer. The same guy who still can't bring himself to change anything about her home, his home. The same guy whose older brothers left him alone without thought of how hard it might be for Jake to take on the burden of watching their mother die all by himself. I wanted to smack his brothers when it was revealed how he took all that upon himself without help from them. Thank God they realized just how selfish and self-absorbed they had been to let their little brother do all the heavy lifting while they went on with their lives. And I wanted to smack Claire for being such an unholy bitch sometimes. She was absolutely the more stubborn of the two. More unfeeling, and far more rigid. I hate that Jake was the one who had to compromise to keep the relationship. I felt like he was once again left to do all the work, and she just got to flit around the world, leaving Jake behind. But...it's what Jake wanted to I guess I'm OK with it and with her.

I really like this series about 4 adopted brothers so far. And I can't wait for playboy Mitchell's story (Up All Night).

I received this book via Booksprout and voluntarily read an arc for a fair and honest review. This book begins just like all the other Walker Brothers books begin....at the Klasky house. This is the day Jake receives his letter from his late, adopted mother. Jake is the gentle giant of the Walker clan. He loves the ranch where he came to as a boy and has no desire to live a city life. Without even needing to open his card Jake already knew what he had written inside many years ago...Claire Miller. She was his childhood sweetheart and love of his life but she left him almost seven years ago. Jake needed a wife that would be his partner in every sense and after his mother and claire there was nothing Jake loved more than his ranch. That's why Claire left...she needed to pursue her dreams of becoming an archeologist. Being the wife of a rancher was not the future Claire wanted. Claire was on a dig in Brazil when she got a call from her mother that her dad had been thrown by his horse, Widow maker (having King Joffrey GOT flashback) and her mother needed her to come back home to Colorado. Claire hasn't been back to the ranch since she left Jake all those years ago. She almost wished Jared hated her now because she still had love for him and hating her would make this visit less painful for Claire. Being the kind hearted man that Jake was, he offered to board Claire's family's horses (free of charge) u till her father could get back on his feet. Before Claire had announced she was leaving Colorado, Jake had been "all in" he had even purchased a diamond for her. That very same diamond was still in his drawer seven years later. Claire made her choice and Jake and the ranch were not in her future. She wanted to travel, be an adventurer and she did it. Now having to spend three weeks in Colorado to help out her mother wasn't going to change that. Claire also has an interview for a job, post graduation, in Denver but she won't allow herself to be that close to Jake Walker so she's hoping that a job in California will be in her future. Here's the thing about reading this Walker Brothers series, they're addictive...the men are strongly influenced by the woman who raised them. These men respect the women in their lives. They live to pamper and put their women on a pedestal. They just love differently from all the alpha heroes that we read about. My favorite parts of all of these books are the times the men are together. I could easily read a book just about this brotherhood. Claire is not my favorite heroine of this series (so far) I just have book 4 to read. Claire has this attitude about her like a simmering pot just waiting to boil. There are moments I just plain don't like her. But Jake is what makes this book as great as it is. He's the guy you want your daughter to marry. I can't say enough good things about this series. I'm sad their mom only adopted four boys..lol..I could read about these guys forever.

I will admit I am not usually a fan of second chance books. It’s not that I don’t feel a person doesn’t deserve a second chance its all the baggage that comes with it that can be clunky and handled badly. Luckily Claire and Jake have carry on bags, filled mostly with miscommunication and misconceptions.

These two fell in love with each other in third grade. When graduation came Claire left to follow her dream of becoming an Archeologist while Jake stayed on his mothers farm. Claire didn’t want their love to become hate filled so she left, as she couldn’t see herself settling down and raising a family when she wanted to discover the world. Jake wanted a family and a life with Claire on his farm. The farm was as much of a part of him as Archeology was for Claire. Instead of trying to figure out how to make it work they both walked away from each other for seven years.

What I really liked about this book compared to the first one in the series was the depth of the characters. You could feel the excitement when Claire discovered a new artifact you lived her discovery with her. With Jake you felt how grounded the farm made him you felt his to the animals and the pleasure and joy he felt in this slower paced world.

This story you get the strong sense of family that both Claire and Jake feel towards their respective families and towards each other. You have fully developed characters with depth and soul. You finally get to know the Walker brothers as caring men with good hearts instead of the bravado of book one. You feel their shared grief from losing their mother and the healing that is slowly taking place in all of them after the loss of the person that literally saved them with her love.

You laugh, you cry and you feel the anguish as each character is going through it. You understand both Claire and Jake’s side of the dilemma of wanting to have everything but afraid to take a risk. Having to make a choice of trying to follow the status quo or forging your own scary path.

The author has done an excellent job of giving you characters that you care about, and connect to with story two. Book one for me was not as compelling and this story has definitely made me look forward to the other books in the series and I hope they continue along this line.

Alone With You was a great 5 star read.
This is Claire and Jake’s story.

Claire is the woman who left Jake over 7 years ago to pursue her dreams. When her father has a riding accident she returns home.
Jake hasn’t been able to get Claire out of his mind since she left. She is the woman that he had told his mother he would marry someday, but that dream was crushed. He has tried to move on but things never worked out. Now that he has seen her again everything has come rushing back.

When Claire took the horses to Jake’s farm for boarding she was hoping she wouldn’t have to see him, but of course that didn't happen. He is no longer the 17 year old that she left behind, he is hot as heck and she is instantly attracted to him.

Claire is only home for three weeks, can Jake let her go again? They both still love each other but are stubborn and don’t want to give up their dreams. Live. Love. Take Risks.

There is so much more to this story. There are some personal struggles and hot sexy moments. I loved Jake’s brothers, I had some LOL moments with them. They were also very protective but supportive of Jake. I really enjoyed reading this second chance romance. We do get a HEA and I enjoyed the epilogue. I would love to see more from this couple. I am also looking forward to reading about the brothers in the rest of the series. This can be read as a stand alone.

Jake is the youngest of the Walker brothers and he is the one who loved their mother's ranch. He wants nothing more than to settle down on the ranch with the woman he loves and raise a big family. He has been in love with Claire since the first time he saw her in third grade. They grew up as best friends and for a few glorious weeks their senior year they were more. Jake even bought her an engagement ring but he never got the chance to give it to her. Claire broke it off with him and left town to go to college. Her dreams didn't match his. Over the last seven years, things have been rough, he had to nurse his mother dying of cancer and hold her when she died. Claire has never returned home until now.
Claire has always loved Jake but she knew she wouldn't be happy staying on the ranch with a family. She loves digging up the past and traveling the world. She knew she couldn't stay with Jake or she would regret not following her dream. Then she gets a phone call from her mother telling her father has had a horse riding accident and Claire is needed at home. Claire comes home but she dreads meeting Jake again. She ends up having to take their horses to board at Jake's ranch and meets Jake. Their feelings are as strong as ever. Jake offers her a three week fling to help them get over their feelings and Claire agrees. The problem is just a few nights just makes them want each other more. Will they ever figure out a way to merge their two worlds?
This is a great book with looks laughs and tears. I felt bad for the two who loved each other so much but couldn't find a way to live together. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

If I thought that Crash and Burn, the first book was an emotional rollercoaster, I was dead wrong. This book, this book though! Oh where do I start people? Alone With You made me cry so hard one minute, then I'd be chuckling the next. I would be crying because of the heartbreak of what the characters were going through losing someone and then they would turn around and make me laugh so damn hard I would almost spit my drink out. Now this wasn't just with the Walker brothers losing their mom, this is the heartbreak that happens throughout the book. Just also funny moments that happened between the characters that were just way too funny not to laugh at.

The Walker brothers are seriously hilarious, it honestly makes me a little envious that I do not have them as siblings to tell you the truth. All of them bring their own sense of humor to the table that just makes it all great and it is so funny to listen to them go at it when the get together.

So to say the least this book was emotionally draining. It was beautiful but damn woman! Give a gal some warning next time that the second book in the series is going to be more intense than the first book so I can prepare myself emotionally. I was happy with how it ended but by the time I was done with the book I wanted to go to bed because I felt emotionally wrecked like I had been through the wringer. Sometimes it can be really rough being an empath but I will give this the 5 stars it deserves. Definitely give this book a try it is worth the blood, sweat and many, many tears.

Sometimes when love hits it hits so hard it throws you for years.

Claire Miller knew that feeling. She was in third grade when it happened and now over a decade later she was still in love with him. The problem at least in her head was that they didn’t want the same things, did they? She wanted to travel and explore and he was tied to the land, his home and his past.

Jake Walker had been hit too though and for over a decade he had been in love with her. However he was just too stubborn to see that in asking her to change who she was he was trying to change who he was in love with. He just knew he had a single picture in his head and that was what he saw.

Due to some bad circumstance they were together again for three weeks. Those three weeks would decide their future, would it be together or would they part again for nearly a decade?

Ms. Callahan has given us another Walker brother story that is an emotional rollercoaster, but of the best kind. Her word choice is really wonderful, neither too verbose nor too skimpy. The plot flows like a river after the rain. Her characters, both primary and secondary are relatable, lovable and necessary. The story will have you reaching for your tissues for sure, but in the best of ways… just be prepared there are still more brothers and more stories to wait on.

This is the 2nd book in The Walker Brothers series by Amanda Adams. Claire and Jake have been best friends and in love since third grade. The Claire leaves town to live her dreams and leaves Jake behind. Jake stays in town and works the ranch as his father did before him. He knows that this is his destiny. Yet, Claire and Jake are destine to be together also.

I guess at 17 you know what you want but you don’t always know how to get it. That is the problem for Claire and Jake. They know they want each other but they also know their dreams don’t jive with what the other wants. My thought is if it is meant to be it will be…sometimes you just need a gentle push (or full on shove) to get back to each other.

The small town setting is wonderful. I could picture the ranch, the gravel roads, and the quaint shops. It is a town that every teenager can’t wait to leave, except Jake, but loves to return to. It is a town that everyone knows everyone and there are no secrets. It is an amazing setting that never fails to pull me in.

The secondary characters, specifically the Walker Brothers, are so sexy, fun, supportive, and wonderful. The relationships between the brothers is one of true family. They fight, argue, love, support, and push each other out of their comfort zones. It is true family love.

Jake and Claire loved each other from young kids. Jake wanted the stay at home wife and kids. Claire wanted more she wanted a career and she chose to have it she left Jake and became an archeologist and went on digs in many countries. On one of her digs her mother calls and tells her her dad was thrown from a horse.

Claire comes home but doesn't want to see Jake, but just her luck she sees him when she goes to board her fathers two horses at Jake's ranch. Jake still loves her and when he sees her it only brings back his heart ache. These two have so many issues. They don't really communicate not now or not even before when she left him.

They are both bitter and this story keeps you wondering will they get their HEA with Claire being a headstrong woman. Jake needed to learn to let her go on her jobs as long as she came home to me. I love second chance romances and this one kept me intrigued. This is the second story in this series. I only hope the next book is as good as this one. I give this story 4 stars. Give this story a chance and see if Claire and Jake finally get their HEA after seven long years.

Alone With You by Amanda Adams

Alone with You is the newest of the Walker Brother Series by Amanda Adams. This novel is more poignant than the first book in the series Crash and Burn, but no less HOT. The four brothers are mourning the loss of their mother and are each on a quest to fulfill a last hope of hers. The brothers adored their mother and all are struggling to some extent with her loss.

Jake is a cowboy who works hard on his ranch. He loves the ranch, horses, woods and fields of the homestead. Claire lives to dig ancient artifacts. They fell in love back in third grade, but their paths diverged after high school. Claire wanted to travel and find artifacts. She knew that Jake wanted a wife, home and children in Colorado. So Claire left...seven years later she is back to see her family. Jake wants to pick up where they left off - after all he never fell out of love with her. Only they both still want opposite things and their hearts are so involved that it is going to tear them both apart again.

Alone with You is a great read by Amanda Adams! The characters of the Walker Brothers can melt any heart and you find yourself cheering them on!

They were in love. Perfect for each other in every way but one. They each want different lives. He wanted the ranch, a wife and kids. She wanted to follow her dreams of being an archaeologist and traveling the world. It couldn't possibly work out. Could it?

All I needed was this authors amazing description of this Colorado ranch to feel like I was there, minus the heat of course. What a fantastic feeling!

I am in love with the Walker boys! Every. Single. One. Of. Them. I was reading the book and couldn't figure out how it would ever work out between Jake and Claire. It made me sad that these two people knew they were in love with each other and they could never be together. Wonderful story line! One of the most touching scenes in a book I've read was when Jake found the letter in his mother's drawer. I cried...hard, as these four beautiful men read their mothers last words to her youngest son who took care of her in her last months of life. BRAVO Ms. Callahan for writing this beautifully emotional story. The story line is great but I think it was the strong emotions that it brought out in this very satisfied reader, that makes it twice as amazing. Can't wait to read more.

This is the story of Claire & Jake, the youngest among the Walker boys. Jake had known since third grade that he loved Claire and wanted her in his life forever. However, Claire has always had the ambition and drive to pursue her love of archaeological digs. She just couldn't fathom giving all that up to remain at home "barefoot and pregnant". Jake felt just as strongly about staying on the ranch with his horses. After high school, Jake & Claire broke up because of these opposing dreams. Now it is eight years later and Claire returns home briefly because of her father's accident. Jake & Claire find the old spark is still there and once again are facing an impossible decision. It was heartbreaking to see two lovely, loving people feel so strongly for each other but could not work out a future together. The writing is so sensitive and well planned that it drew out the emotions and caused a few tears. Loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Excellent story, a must read. Five stars.

This is the second book in the Walker Brothers series and while it can be read on its own, I think its much better having read the first book. Six months after his mother's death, Jake is reminded of a promise he once made his mother. That was to marry his childhood sweetheart, Claire. One problem, Claire left him seven years ago to follow her dreams of being an archaeologist. And since Jake won't leave his beloved ranch and Claire can't be the stay at home wife Jake wants, the two have stayed apart while never forgetting their love. This was a fun contemporary romance centered around getting a second chance at the One. Jake and Claire try to figure out how they can make their love work without either one having to give up their dreams. Once again the Walker brothers rally around one another in support even as they give one another a hard time. I can't wait to see how finding love affects the remaining two Walkers! And it seems that Mitchell is the next one to fall, should be a great read.

Claire Miller loved Jake Walker since they were children, but she needed to follow her dream to explore the world and It's history. On the other hand, Jake Walker, never wanted to leave his ranch and his horses. Their love wasn't enough to make them compromise. It's been seven years and now Claire has come back to help her injured father. They can't fight their attraction. This time can they find a way to be together? Claire and Jake make an amazing couple. I knew that they had a serious problem to resolve. I wasn't sure if they would be successful. I liked these characters. I enjoy that Claire was the adventurer and Jake was the homebody. I found it easy to connect with them. I liked the Walker Brothers. Their antics made me laugh. This small town provided the perfect setting. Alone With You was filled with love, passion and heartbreak. I wanted these two to get a do-over. I enjoyed the writing of Amanda Adams. Her story touched me. I can't wait for the next Walker Brothers story.

Great second chance romance. Claire and Jake have known each other since elementary school and have been the best of friends turning to lovers. But Claire wants more from life than to be stuck in her small hometown, get married and have babies while Jake is perfectly fine living on the family ranch in the great outdoors. Claire leaves to pursue a career that involves traveling around the world searching for artifacts. When her father falls from his horse back home and ends up in the hospital she travels back home (after being away for 7 years) to help her mother out with the ranch. She has avoided going back home due to the feelings she still carries for Jake and dreads seeing him again and re-igniting those romantic feelings. This was a very enjoyable story with well developed characters. This is the second book in the series "The Walker Brothers" and centers around Jake the youngest of 4 adopted brothers. I look forward to reading the next book in the series centering around Mitchell Walker.

A well written story. The second in the series about the Walker Brothers. They are all standalone books but I recommend reading them all in order to get all the details and stories. It is much easier to understand the stories if you have read them all.

I like the plot and story line. The main characters are Jake and Claire. They have been in school together and they have had a crush on each other since third grade. Claire breaks Jakes heart when she is leaving him in a age of 17. She has plans and dreams and want to follow them. At the age of 24 she returns to her hometown because of her father has had a surgery - and there she meets Jake. She still loves him and it hurts more than she thought it would.

The characters are well developed and described. They are made relatable and believable. There is chemistry and passion between them. I like the writing style and the use of words which makes the reader captivated.

The story has romance, twists, lots of chemistry and emotional up and downs. Worth the read.

Fantastic book!! This is a story about two people who have loved each other since grade school but who have deep desires that don’t appear to be compatible. Seven years ago Claire left Jake behind when she pursued her dream of a career in archeology and anthropology. Jake’s dream was about staying on the ranch he grew up on and living there for the rest of his life. Claire knew she wouldn’t be happy staying there so they went their separate ways. When Claire comes home 7 years later because her father had a serious accident Jake hopes he can convince Claire to give up her way of life and stay. She knows she’s not ready to settle down and become a stay-at-home wife and mother. Follow these two lovers on their journey to find out if they can have an HEA. This is a book well worth reading. I enjoyed it so very much! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily writing a review.

I usually don't read modern romances, but this book may have changed my ways. I loved the evolution of the characters, especially Jake. It was refreshing to read about a main male character that has actual emotions and evolves; he isn't closeted away from his emotions and at the end of the novel he makes some huge realizations that allows some necessary turn of events. The emotional growth and second chance love for Jake and Claire were my favorite parts of this novel and may have also caused me to shed a few tears. That is not to say that Jake is not a sizzling hot cowboy and there are not some steamy moments in this book - because there are, there definitely are. Overall a well written book and I cannot wait to read about Jake's brothers.
I received this book from the author at no cost to me and volunteered to read it; my review is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.

Jake is the youngest of the Walker brothers and the one most tied to the family land. These ties are what cost him the girl he loved. Claire Miller lived next door to the Walker brothers as she was growing up but it was Jake that had her heart. Claire has plans of being an archaeologist and traveling the world. She knows she can't do this and be what Jake wants- a wife and children- so she leaves. When Claire returns home to help care for her injured father, she and Jake agree to a fling. Will Jake and Claire find a way to compromise or will they walk away from true love? Hopefully these two will find a way to have it all- family, love and a career.

FYI: Have plenty of tissues handy when you read the bedroom scene with the four brothers.

OMGosh. I LOVED this book. The duel POVs and the dialogue that that characters had with each other and themselves was great. I laughed so hard in spots. I also cried in others. There were times when Jake was expressing his feelings towards change that was spot on with me. There are times when I reflect on my childhood and wished I was back there again.

I fell in love with Jake and Claire (well Jake especially! What can I say I'm a woman and a sucker for a cowboy!!!) I'm so glad that these two FINALLY came to the right conclusion!!! Well there wouldn't be a story if they were on the same page as ME!!! LOL.

I highly recommend this story. I have to go and get the first story of this series as this book has so touched me.

Sometimes, even true love needs a kick in the... Jake Walker like his 3 other brothers lost his Mother, not even a year ago, and later found out his Mom is still watching from the other side, by making him pursue his dream. What a Mother
Jake's lost the love of his life when she walked out on him 7 years ago to chase her dream/
Claire Miller fell in love with Jake in the third grade. & years later she still loves him, but still feels that their lives are not compatible at all. During their discovery journey so many things come to light, things that made me laugh and also that made me cry, Will Jake and Clair find a way to compromise and discover that they can have both worlds if they so choose, read it to find out, its a touching beautiful story, characters are strong, resilient and stubborn. Perfect for each other is they could compromise.

Oh, Jake is such a sweetheart! He's loved Claire since time began, and while she loved him too she wanted her career more. When she returns after so many years away, he's in a vulnerable place emotionally and needs whatever he can get from Claire, for however long she's in town. Finding their way around each other's bodies again was easy, finding their way into each other's future was again complicated by their stubbornness, their own view of their future, and their unwillingness to just open up and communicate effectively. This story runs through all the emotions as they work toward a compromise that they both can live with. The writing is amazing, and the characters are very real and complex. I know it's only the second book, but I think Jake is my favorite of the four Walker brothers. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Jake and Claire missed their shot at a HEA when they were young. They have both grown up and apart and even I, a hopeless romantic, couldn't see how their two lives were going to mesh. Luckily, Amanda Adams did. She has written a beautiful love story full of loss, confusion, and passion. The second in a series of 4, this can be read as a standalone, but I would urge you to read all 4- regardless of the order. The Walker boys' mother left them one final instruction that leads each of them on the path to their destiny. Beautifully written, wonderful characters, and steamy chemistry makes these a 5 star read.

The second book in The Walker Brothers series. This time was Jake and Claire's story. Friends from little on, but Claire wanted more. Jake wouldn't leave his ranch, who ok d they ever get back together. It was a fantastic story of two young loves growing up and hoping it could work together. I loved this story and of course by the end I had tears reading it.

Amanda Adams does a wonderful job of spinning their story. It will draw you in right from the beginning. Definitely recommend this book, but read book 1 first. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Rock Star Lit.

This is the first book I have read by this author so I didn't know what the book would
be like.
Right from the first page it had my hooked and I couldn't put it down.
Claire has come home after 7 years away but its not to stay.
Jake has found out his childhood love is back.
Jake talked Claire into having three week with him before she left again because
nothing has change with her over the years she new the life Jake wanted was not the same
as she saw for herself. This is one great read that will tug at your heartstrings
