Life can become confusing when you fall in love with your son s fiancée s mother and you look a bit like Woody Allen. Donald Roth, the main character in this hilarious book,copes clumsily with an unhappy marriage, a law practice in which his client beats him up, a psychiatrist whom his wife insists doesn t exist, and a bum who gets ten bucks a pop. Donald and his wife Emily meet the future in-laws and it changes their lives. It seems the two couples were destined to be together. Just not with each other. Donald Roth and Zara Dargon fall in love. It amazes Donald because Zara is tall and blonde and beautiful, and Donald is the type of person that his doctor has to administer general anesthesia to take his temperature. He screams during an x-ray. So, the question How do two people maintain an illicit affair and still plan an elegant, yet tasteful wedding?
