Dark Side Philosophy

Rate this book
This is the fourth book from Sith Academy, a Dark Side school founded by the first real Sith Order on this planet. In this book we discuss the key ideas and thinkers that have guided our path to the Dark Side. It is based on years of experience, research, reflections and revelations as power-seekers and Dark Lords. We publish these thoughts for Acolytes on the path to Sith Mastery, so they may learn of philosophies not taught in any mundane, Light Side school, and in so doing arm themselves with explosive thought-bombs and gain unlimited intellectual power. Dark Side Philosophy contains our philosophies of power, politics, evil, war, death, magick, metaphysics, empire, history, the cosmos, and more. It discusses the nature of the Dark Side, the Force and the philosophy of Sithism. It also contains the nine Challenges that the Sith Acolyte must complete to advance to the next level of Sith training. Every Dark Lord must must develop a philosophy that can withstand any attack and become a mighty weapon of conquest. This book is written to give the Sith Acolyte the tools to do just that. Self Improvement For Star Wars Fans

I bought this book by accident, but after going over the table of contents I decided to read it instead of getting a refund.

First thing you should know is that Dark Side Philosophy is not some Star Wars supplement, official or unofficial. Rather, this is the 4th book in a series published by Dark Lords, a religious/magickal/political group that takes inspiration from the Star Wars mythos, specifically the Jedi heresy known as the Sith. From what I can glean, they plan to infiltrate the world's governments & space agencies, using their influence to establish a permanent human presence in space. That accomplished, the Dark Lords will initiate a coup & establish a stellar empire & eventually conquer the galaxy like the Galactic Empire in the movies. I sincerely wish them luck.

Honestly, my first reaction was to cringe: " Oh great, fanboys who think they are real life Sith Lords." Surprisingly, though, whoever wrote this book (Darth Imperious) seems to be unusually well-read; definitely NOT some Star Wars geek with psychotic delusions of grandeur like I expected. This book evaluates the Sith philosophy in the light of real world philosophy, religion, and politics. Being rather well-read myself, I can't say any of that was new to me (I've already read most of the books in the bibliography), but I'm nonetheless impressed by not only the scope of Darth Imperious' knowledge, but the way he (or is it she?) has synthesized it all into the Sith philosophy. If the Sith had been real, this would be a very accurate exposition of their beliefs. And though the Sith weren't real, neither was Jesus or Thor. Religion is an art meant to inspire us to look beyond our mundane lives & work for something greater. Unlike science, it's not about what is, but what COULD & SHOULD be. From that perspective, is a Sith religion really so cringy after all?

I'm not sure if I'd want to be a Sith Lord, but I'm glad my finger slipped (maybe it was a machination of the Dark Side).

This book is well written and well researched albeit without citations. I enjoyed reading this synthesis of “dark” philosophy and religious thought. Their representation of the Dao very much misses the mark, in my opinion. This book is too short because they only just introduce concepts. Having more discussion and diving deeper into the meanings of all these different ideas would greatly improve this book. This is like a beginner’s guide and I suppose I desire an exhaustive work. If you are new to “dark thought,” then this book is definitely a great guide.
