Bad Boy. Screw-up. Good for nothing. Hero. Angel. These were all words Grayson ‘Torren’ Trammel had heard whispered behind his back over his lifetime. What he hadn't heard was ‘quitter,’ and he’d be damned if some little rehab chick, with her beautiful blonde hair, and hot, sassy little mouth was going to label him as such.
To My…
Tru knows Grayson’s not for her. He’s too bad. Too hot. Too demanding. Too taken.
She tells herself that almost daily as she helps Grayson get back into fighting shape after a horrific accident nearly ripped his life away from him. That had taken the life of one of the men in his MC.
Grayson is everything her father warned her about, but there’s just something about him that intrigues her. That makes her want more.
The man's a firefighter. How bad could he be?
Line…
Apparently, he could be way worse than bad, but he could also be so very, very good. Something Tru realizes, rather quickly, when the two can no longer fight the pull that’s between them.
Now there’s only one word she wants to hear when it comes to him: his.
Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
I just LOVE how strong & steady this series is! I look forward to each new installment, knowing I'll fall in love with the characters!! Charge To My Line was no different than the last few books in that it was AWESOME and unputdownable!
It was so stinkin' easy to LOVE Grayson aka Torren and Tru. They were extremely adorable together and their chemistry was off the charts HOT!
Tru was such a fun heroine. Choosing "Highway To Hell" for her special day, the "private" butterflies she felt for Grayson, taking off her pants first thing when she walked in the door, when she got "drunk as a skunk"... all of those things made me fall in love with her. She came across as a very genuine person and I loved how down-to-earth she was, as are all of the Dixie Warden women. I enjoyed reading about her growing friendship with Rue and how she never gave up in her pursuit of Grayson when things took a sudden turn in their relationship.
Another freaking sexy, funny, sweet and just fantastic read from my go to author for low angst and hotness with a side of pure loyal hero. Even when Lani writes some needed angst she carries you through it with strong characters that will not let you down and she leaves you hungry for the next book with glimpses of more interesting couples. Tru and Grayson "Tunnel" were not only hot they were sweet and sassy. Loved this one so much. Ready for Luke now.
Grayson 'Torren' Trammel thought he knew what he wanted but when it was in his grasp he realized he didn't. Then he meets Tru, she fascinates him but she is off limits until he is done with his rehab, then he makes his move.
True is hilarious and I liked that Torren had a unique story. This is one of those story that gets better with every turn of the page. One of my favorites so far in this series. If you have not picked this series up do it.
Another great addition to this series!! Total different vibe with Torren though, he was more the silent type wore his heart on his sleeve and even with his past still had a heart of gold and every decision he made was done with someone else's best interest in mind. Which we got the gist of in Life To My Flight when he put his life on the line...
I found the relationship that grew between Tru and Grayson to be sincere, organic and wonderful! She got him in a way that no one else had and it was beautiful. Thankfully, with Tru in the picture, Cleo's horrible little sister, Molly, didn't stand a chance!
In the last book (Life to My Flight), Torren risked his life to rescue Rue from a fire. He damaged his shoulder in the process and in order to get back to work he needed physical therapy. Tru was the woman to get him back on track and she gave her all to give him the power to be the hero he needed to be. Which was awesome because it allowed him to put down all threats to his woman.
Things got a little horrific towards the end, but overall, this was a sweet and funny romance with plenty of heat.
I can't get enough of this series at all... I just keep wanting it to continue. You just can't go wrong with a Lani Lynn Vale book at all. She's one of my new "favorite - must read everything" authors!!
I enjoyed this book more than the one before it in the series. I liked that Grayson was himself from the beginning of the book to the end. There was just one scene I kind of wished we had his point of view from. The Fire scene with the infant, I kind of was invested then poof it was Tru.
Tru was an interesting character, I loved her mother she was kick ass man. I think Tru got a lot of her.
I will say I was confused with all the brothers and why they wanted to hurt them, if it was just because they thought he had a better life? I don’t know all I know is I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to the next one.
I love the narration; I like when Lidia puts the emotion into her voice for what Tru was going through or feeling.

Devoured & enjoyed !! Not only is Torren - Grayson , freakin hot as sin he is such a genuine good guy , just an amazing person and has come a long way from his past. Add to that the wonderful Shawn Dawson being the cover model and you have the best visuals ever !! YEEEHAAAW !!!!!! These guys are not just heroes in uniform daily they are super hot yet devoted to family/friends bikers !! They stick together and they love fiercely. I have enjoyed the Dixie Warden series and plan to devour the couple I missed and attack the rest of the Freebirds as soon as I have time !! I hate knowing that I am missing out on great stuff !!
We have known Torren for some time now and if he wasn't amazing enough saving countless lives in the last book he is doing it again and it is very touching. While recovering from his shoulder injury he meets Tru , this happens to be the same girl who jumped him months ago and he honestly hasn't been able to get her off his mind since !! Now in a professional situation he enjoys his time with her getting to know her and working hard to get his shoulder fixed and get back to work. When his time is up with Tru he decides to ask her out and their flow is pretty easy going. The funniest part of their relationship comes as some trouble Torren got in years ago that directly affected Tru's daddy who happens to be the fire marshall !! I promise you it is funny !! But does make for a tense moment wondering what her dad will do !!
Tru is a hard worker and an all around regular girl , tom boy even !! She is curvy and likes to eat and isn't afraid to do that and speak her mind. She lives with her bestie who happens to have a crappy boyfriend with an even crappier brother. Tru spends most of her time avoiding them. Little does she know Colby obsession with her goes far beyond innocent. His creepiness is not to be dismissed. BAD NEWS he is. Once Colby spots Torren coming around all hell breaks loose and things get crazy.
Torren and Tru are such a great match. Both down to earth and real. I did wonder though why it was never brought up by Torren when he had to have realized what their first time meant to Tru ?? Just a silly thing I assumed would have been discussed or like WAIT A MINUTE did that just happen , but it didn't ?? Anyways continuing on.....They have a great time and enjoy being with each other but with Colby's threats getting worse what choice will Torren make ?? Once Tru figures it all out there will be no hiding from Colby and just how far will he go ?? As always we have drama , heartache and violence , all in good measure. Things go up and down , back and forth but always end up in a happy place !! Once one big issue is removed there sadly comes another. Tru and Torren may be living an HEA but one last attempt to destroy them is made and wow it was crazy and edge of your seat...
I loved the funny e-card quotes , tshirt sayings and texts at the starts of the chapters !! Had me laughing out loud. Some of the stuff Tru said during , before/after sex was a riot too !! I truly enjoyed the joking banter , the family/friend bonds and of course the reunion of family for Torren , well some of it. The epilogue was brilliant and I am hoping for more and more !!
Vale brings more humor, romance, heartbreak, and sheer craziness in the 6th book in her Dixie Wardens MC series. Fans will remember Grayson ‘Torren’ Trammel from Life to my Flight. A firefighter and member of the Dixie Wardens MC, Torren was badly hurt trying to save friend and brother from a fiery death. Enter Tru Dougherty. A cracktastic physical therapist whose “special” relationship to the fire department is just amps up the fun factor of the story. The explosive romance blends well with a suspenseful mystery; keeping you on your toes. Seeing old friends only adds to the crack level as you race to see who or what wants to make sure Torren and Tru’s HEA never happens.
I get spoiled. Pre-ordered and Amazon delivered the book to me at 9pm pst which is midnight for eastern coast. Second the book came on my kindle app everything was shut off and I was cuddled up with Torren and Tru. 4 hours, no stopping, just kept reading until the last page.
Just going to say it, I <3 you hard Ms. Vale. With each book that comes out, I can see you growing and developing from when I first picked up Boomtown. Charge to my Line is really showing you as a strong author with witty imagination that rocks my world. I've listed Kristen Ashley as my #1 favorite author, and the last few books have slid you into #2 spot. Yes this is a love letter to you, well aware of that =).
So onto the book. We met Torren again in Life to my Flight. He had the major hots for Cleo's baby sister Molly (the twat). He's also a hero beyond belief (yes all the guys are but Torren is just a step above them all). In the last book Torren is injured and Charge takes up where he needs to start physical therapy. Tru is helping with his rehab but already has some prior embarrassing history with this firefighter hottie. We still have Molly (the twatwaffle) somewhat involved sporadically in the book, but really it's the dangers that lurk in Tru's life that causes a lot of the tension in the story. We have Silas with his gorgeous beard and all the cast of the previous Dixie Wardens MC books making appearances.... as well as bringing back a Kilgore character (which, I am jealous, I'm so in lust with that man especially after the teaser first chapter). The story moves pretty quickly, Tru has her amusing moments but she's a bit more laid back then some of the previous heroines. And now I want sex on a water bed.
If you've enjoyed Freebirds and the first 5 of the Dixie Wardens MC, read Charge to my Line! And for the teaser chapter at the end
I can't imagine where Lani Lynn Vale keeps coming up with so many different and great characters. While these are each standalone books, my review will somewhat show how it fits in the series. Just remember, you don't have to read them all, you can enjoy them separately. Grayson, known to almost everyone as Torren is getting physical therapy for the arm he injured in the last book while breaking through a wall trying to save a fellow Dixie Wardens wife from a fire. The paramedic is surprised to see that his therapist is the cute girl that had run and jumped up in his arms a month or so ago at Handcuffs and Halligans, a restaurant and bar, where you can usually find members of the Dixie Warden MC, and other police and fire department personnel. Tru is very professional at her job, but when Grayson's therapy is done, then the fun of their relationship really begins. I can't tell you how much I really loved this particular story, probably because I don't know why. Maybe I laughed more with this one than the others, although that's really hard to believe, as they all have lots of humor. Maybe I didn't cry as much, yet there were still a couple of those times also. That may be something we will never know. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about people who save lives and are part of an MC (Motorcycle Club).
I pre-order the books in this series without a clue of the characters or storyline because I have that much faith in Ms. Vale's writing. I fell in love with her Freebirds series and moved smoothly into the Dixie Warden's MC series. Each book gives us a strong alpha male biker who is also a public servant such as a SWAT sniper, firefighter, Life Flight pilot, paramedic, etc...a perfect combination of good guy wrapped up in a bad boy package! And the heroines are not whiny, TSTL females! They are independent, smart, snarky women but the independence is not pushed to the point of infuriating for me. You readers know what I mean. Everyone isn't perfectly beautiful, there are scars, internal and external, as well as everyday issues of life to be dealt with mixed with a bit more danger and suspense. There is no cliffhanger in these books and always a HEA with a lead in to the next book. I got this book on the day it was released and I finished it within 12 hours (finally had to go to sleep at 3a.m.!). If you've never read a Lani Lynn Vale book, I recommend starting at the beginning with Boomtown from the Freebirds series to get the full bounty of her world but each book is a stand alone too. Happy Reading!
I could spoil it for you all day but it's one that you MUST READ!!! Hell, I was able to read this jaw dropping, earth moving story in only a few hours in 1 day. It's a 2perons POV story that will have you laughing, crying, and angry all at the same time along with being shocked at the most exciting parts of the story. This author really knows how to blow someones mind away and keep the readers attention on the story as a whole and not put it down. It's worth the few hours it took me to read it and I know it will be worth your time reading it. This really well written story needs to have more then 5 star rating that's for sure it's right up there with about a 8 1/2 star rating. Loved it!!!
***I received this story for free in exchange for an honest review, see more of my review @ http://jmhoward2007.blogspot.com ***
4.5 stars ...Grayson doesn't like shirts and Tru doesn't like pants.......d;)
The Dixie Warden series has consistently kept me entertained. LLV continues to bring humor, drama, sassy "give them hell heroines" and police, fire or military men to serve as our hot, "don't mess with my family" alpha heroes. CHARGE TO MY LINE is no exception to the rule and features Grayson (Torren) and Tru. Grayson is our possessive, protective paramedic/fireman who's undergoing physical therapy after receiving an injury when trying to rescue Cleo's woman from a house fire. Enter our sassy heroine; Tru is a physical therapist and in charge of Grayson's shoulder injury. Incidentally, her mother is a cop and father the BPD Fire Marshall, and they play a big role just as the Dixie Wardens do. This kept me laughing and thoroughly entertained. .....d;)
I was gifted a copy of this book for review. One thing that I absolutely love about Lani Lynn Vale is that at the beginning of each chapter there are snarky humorous lines that keep you looking forward to the next chapter. The characters are exceptionally written and the storyline riveting. Tru and Torren are perfect for each other. This is a series that has not fizzled with each new story but only gets better. Few authors are able to maintain a series the way she has. This is a must read series!!
Lani Lynn Vale has done it again!! This series is so freaking amazing! I love that it's techinically an MC series but the MC is NOT the focus of the book. I LOVE how Lani Lynn incorporates the characters from the other books into each book. Grayson is one HOT fire fighter that you don't want to miss out on!!!
4☆ Really enjoyed this one! Both main characters were great & storyline had more of a real feel to it. I had a few LOL moments throughout this whole read. So, it had a touch of everything I really like in a story. Again just my opinion, g
This is the 6th book in the Heroes of Dixie Warden MC series. They do not need to be read in order, but I strongly suggest that you do so that you get a better background on all the characters. It's a great series. I think this is the best one yet!
This is Torren and Tru's story.
Grayson "Torren" Trammel is a member of the Dixie Wardens MC. He is also a fireman and medic. In the last book, he was hurt while saving Rue from a fire that would have killed her and did kill his friend, Tunnel. He has to go through months of physical therapy because of his injury. Boy was he surprised when he meets his therapist. She's the woman that changed things for him, but she doesn't know it.
Tru Doherty is that woman. She found herself jumping into his arms because of a dare! That's how it all started for them.
"I was such a dork. I was literally a homebody. I didn't do this sort of shit. I'd never even had a boyfriend! I was still a virgin! I didn't know how to flirt."
These two are perfect for each other, but there is someone trying to keep them apart. It's a struggle to deal with, that's for sure.
"I'll never give up on you. I'll fight Satan and God himself to keep you with me. You're mine, and I'm yours. And you will fight for me if it ever comes down to it. Because if you're gone, what do I have left?" ~Torren
I love both of these characters. Torren is amazing, he is great at his job, and a complete fool for Tru. He will do anything to keep her safe, loved, and protected.
"You, darlin', are what I never knew I needed. I've spent all these years trying to find something I never knew I was missing. But the moment you launched yourself into my arms, you changed my life. This has been the best year and a half of my life, and I know there are many more to come. You're the charge to my line, baby. Without you, I'd be useless. Without a water, a fire would become a raging inferno. And that's what would happen if I ever love you. I'd destroy mountains for you, and will until the day I die."
Just like in the previous books, the life lessons and quotes at the start of each chapter had me laughing. I love them!
"Be a gentleman, know when to hold the door open for her. Be a man, know when to pull her hair."
Charge To My Line (Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC #6 By: Lani Lynn Vale 5/5 stars
Grayson “Torren” Trammel is a firefighter for the Benton Fire Department and member of the Dixie Wardens MC. During a deliberately set house fire, he was unable to save his friend/MC brother/co-worker, Tunnel. But he was able to save Cleo’s (H, book 5) girlfriend Rue (h, book 5) but in doing so, he tore his rotator cuff and had to have surgery and then both physical and occupational therapy. That was when he got to know Tru, even though they had briefly met a few months before.
Tru is an Occupational Therapist and the daughter of mother cop and father who is the fire chief. Unfortunately, Tru’s dad holds a grudge against Grayson for a prank that had been pulled several years ago. Both Tru and Grayson are attracted to each other, but neither will act on the feelings while he is her patient. But the day therapy is over they have their first lunch date. Tru is also a good daughter, taking her mother to doctor’s appointments, cooking food for her family, babysitting her niece while her sister works and more.
We don’t see much of Grayson’s family, though we do meet some as the book progresses. Grayson is a sexy, Alpha man that goes all in for something…anything that he wants and he wants Tru. But there is a darker force at work that doesn’t want Tru & Grayson to end up together, and is willing to go to extremes to make that happen. And Grayson is willing to go to the extremes in order to protect Tru.
Once again, the humor in these books just gets me to laughing, the chapter titles are hilarious and I want to hang out at Halligans & Handcuffs Bar & Grill, it’s my kind of place! I liked that it didn’t skip the parts I wanted to see and we were introduced to the next series that will take place back in Kilgore, Texas (where Freebirds series is set) and it will be the Kilgore Police (Swat) Department series. I’m stoked for that series. I don’t know if the Heroes of the Dixie Wardens series is complete, but I hope not. I would like a book for Silas!!
