Having never read Mikey Lee before, I decided to step out of my normal reading genre and try something a little different. Also, I haven't read many stories from male authors so I was anxious to see how the story was going to play out.

Lee did a really good job with the plot--there was a good blend of romance, mystery and suspense. The writing was pretty simple and nothing too over the top. Some scenes could've been developed a little more, but for the most part, he stuck to the story and didn't deviate too much from the main focus.

I found that I really liked Seth's character, having just been promoted into a new position after coming back from a trip/vacation with his wife, Zee. I was a bit hesitant about Ashley, who replaced Seth's previous position, in the beginning, but she grew on me throughout the story. The story itself was very fast-paced, which I liked.

What I discovered though, is that I would like to go back and read the previous stories in the series because if they're as captivating as Detecting Pride, then I know I'm really going to enjoy them as well. A perfect afternoon read!

First book I have read by this writer and in this series. It was different than what I normally read but enjoyable from beginning to end. I loved the suspenseful part of this storyline. It was indeed a page turner waiting to see what was going to happen and who was the person who did the crime. I enjoyed all the characters and the chemistry between them all. Has me wanting to read all the books in this series. I would recommend reading this series if the rest are as good as this one was

Detecting Pride

Once again Mikey Lee wrote a book that I couldn't put down. This book was so good. Seth gets a huge surprise when he comes back from vacation. I love how Zee is always there for Seth and helps with everything. I enjoyed the fact that this book was more focused on Ashley and how she solved the case. I am just sorry that this is the last one in this series.
