Allie was really looking forward to Christmas Day. Her good friend Charlotte was coming to spend the day with her and she had decided to go all out to make it special. But things had a way of changing and in the midst of Allie’s fear, the phone rang. She just knew it was Charlotte calling to say she wasn’t coming…

December 26th and Charlotte was worried. She was unable to reach Allie. So she finally drove to her apartment where her niggling worries turned to full-blown fear. But the police – Detectives Bryant and Forrester - didn’t share her concerns. Allie was an adult; she could have decided to go away somewhere for the holidays – never mind that her apartment was trashed and worse. Charlotte was overcome by guilt and dread that she would never see Allie again.

In the meantime, Charlotte was trying to interview Tyrone Garner for her newspaper – but she kept coming up against a brick wall. Was there a link between Garner and Allie? The secrets were deep – could Charlotte uncover them all? But did she really want to know the answers? It was looking like she really didn’t know Allie at all.

Less You Know is the second in the Ashes to Ashes series by Aussie author Rowena Holloway and is filled with twists, red herrings and heart-thumping action. It’s sometimes true – the less you know, the better off you are! Less You Know is a gritty psychological thriller which I recommend.

With thanks to the author for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

I will start by saying that I didn’t read book one in the Ashes to Ashes series and I was left totally confused at the beginning of book two as to what was going on as there are a few mentions of characters and events from the previous book that are paramount to the plot.

Charlotte’s friend Allie disappears right after she tells Charlotte she has important information on a story journalist Charlotte is chasing.
The story follows Charlotte as she tries to find out what happened to Allie. As more and more information is uncovered Charlotte wonders if she really knew Allie at all.
The story is told in both Charlotte’s POV in present time and Allie’s POV leading up to her disappearance.

Less you Know was full of mystery and each event added a new mystery to the growing number. Who is Allie’s boyfriend? What happened to Joey? (This was obviously from book 1). What was Garner up to? What did Allie know? Where is Allie now? Why did Charlotte flee Australia? Who is Allie’s stalker? Who is the motorbike rider? The mysteries weaved their way through the story and I was getting a little frustrated with all the questions and no answers. There was a big reveal at the end where I think all the loose ends were nicely tied up.

The story ended with some really good twists that I didn’t see coming. I will go back and read book 1 and my star rating of 3/5 may change with a better understanding of what’s going on with the characters.

Less You Know is the second book in the Ashes to Ashes series by Rowena Holloway. This is quite a gripping suspense, with drama, mystery, danger, secrets, action, discoveries, twists, intrigue, and lots of tension.
We met Charlotte Ashe in the previous book- and once again follow her on her latest ‘investigation’. Her journalistic senses drive her to try to prove Tyrone Garner, former football star, now turned property developer, and all-round Mr. Popular- is actually a huge fraud.
She, along with her friend Allie, engage in some reconnaissance in order to uncover ‘evidence’. But Allie has secrets of her own, and when she disappears, Charlotte not only feels guilty for placing her friend in danger, but will also need to get to the bottom of everything, putting all the pieces together. Secrets will be revealed. Questions will be raised. Charlotte will be tested, and left questioning everything she thought she knew.
This story is definitely clever, edge of your seat reading. I was immediately hooked and couldn’t put it down until I’d read every word. As I expected, another great read from this talented author!

Thank you, Ms. Holloway!

Less You Know (Ashes to Ashes Book 2) by Rowena Holloway was a gripping suspenseful read, that had me on the edge of my seat.

Wow, I was pulled in again by this talent author I was held captive by this heart pounding read. The twist, turns and plot bombs did a number on my nerves! At times I had to put this book down so I could regroup before diving right back into this mess of mystery. Before I get to much into this review, this is book two, and I highly suggest reading book one, as there are of course spoilers in this one, and much needed background info on our MC.

I don't want to give anything away, and any bread crumbs might spoil this thriller for you. So I will tell you that the writing is on point, the detail is rich and engaging and the tone, it takes you in this dark almost edgy place, that you can't help but feel like you're being watched. It matches the setting of this read, and frankly I have nothing bad to say.

Overall this multi layered, feels ripping read will, as I have said, capture you. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that this book will have you on the edge of your seat, flipping pages to see what will happen next

Happy Reading

Less You Know: gripping suspense (Ashes to Ashes Book 2)
By: Rowena Holloway
5 out of 5 stars

The story Less You Know: gripping suspense (Ashes to Ashes Book 2) by Rowena Holloway is a psychological/mystery/suspense book. From the beginning, I felt like I had stepped onto a ride that didn’t stop until I had finished the final page. It made my heart beat faster and I had to remind myself to breathe. This story had me on the edge of my seat and wondering what was going to happen next. Charlotte Ashe is a woman who wants to uncover lies and expose those who tell them. She believes and wants to prove that Tyrone Garner is a fraud. Charlotte is someone that once she starts down a path, she is determined to get answers. She has a strong will. Allie is Charlotte’s friend and doesn’t shy away from helping her with her investigation. A little bit of spying sounds exciting. When Allie vanishes, Charlotte is desperate to find her. Will Charlotte find Allie? Is Allie still alive? Charlotte has now found herself going down a path in which more questions are being raised. Secrets about Allie are uncovered. Will Charlotte find out the complete truth about her friend? Is everything that she believes about Tyrone Garner the truth? Read this book to find out. Trying to put together what was happening and who was responsible was like working on a puzzle. There are characters whose motives and actions are questionable. Is Charlotte in danger? The story is fast paced and awesome to read. Don’t miss out on the next story in a series that will keep you guessing and turning pages. It is a book I would highly recommend reading.

Less You Know was a great 5 star read and book two in the Ashes to Ashes series.
This is a great psychological thriller that pulls you right in. You won’t want to stop until your done.

Charlotte is a very strong and determined woman. Once she gets on the trail of something or someone she doesn’t stop until she gets answers and Tyrone is the one she is focused on.

When Charlottes friend Allie disappears, she starts looking for her, as she’s searching she uncovers some secrets about Allie. What will happen when/if she learns the truth about both Allie and Tyrone?

I was pulled in once again by the authors writing, I felt like I was right there with the characters. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. I love a good story that has me thinking the whole time and I was surprised with the ending as well. There are several twists and turns. The secondary characters were great. If you're looking for a great psychological thriller I highly suggest this series/book. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Less You Know is the second book in Rowena Holloway’s Ashes to Ashes series. Charlotte is still hell bent on taking down corrupted tycoon Tyrone Garner, and airing out all his dirty laundry. But as Charlotte uncovers more about Tyrone, she digs her grave deeper and deeper. Before she buries herself she asks for help from her best friend Allie. But as things start to unfold and the secrets unravel, Allie vanishes; and Charlotte doesn’t know what to do.
I really enjoyed this second instalment of Holloway’s Ashes to Ashes series. It was just as suspenseful as the first book. Equally as engaging and filled with more twists and turns. I could not put the book down, and was sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time. The writing was very captivating and well thought out. Everything was planned to the finest detail and executed perfectly. Highly recommend the series to anyone looking for a gripping suspense series.

Less You Know (Ashes to Ashes #2)
By Rowena Holloway
5 stars

Wow! The second book in this series and I loved it just as much as, if not more then, the first one! This can be read as a standalone however I would 100% recommend reading book 1 also. The story was an exciting, gripping read that I had a really hard time putting down. The twists and turns in the story are probably amongst some of the best I have ever read; just when I thought I knew what was going to happen there was another twist. The author absolutely kept me on my toes and on the edge of my seat with this read. The ending was brilliant! I loved that I couldn’t even begin to guess what was going to happen in the story, I felt like I was trying to solve it alongside reading it. The dual point of view meant I got information from different characters as I was trying to piece together just what had happened!
A fantastic, gripping read one that I absolutely recommend! I am certainly looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I was not so sure when I picked up the first book in the Ashes to Ashes, Bad Things Happen, but once I finished it I knew I would be back for the rest of the books in the series. I was so excited when I saw the cover of Less You Know pop up on my new reads list that I dived in first and asked questions later… who am I kidding, the only question I asked is why did that end and when is the next one coming!?!? Rowena Holloway stuns us once again with a fantastic and true to title gripping suspenseful read. I felt as if I was on an up down ride of emotions that I couldn’t make much sense of from one moment to the next. Of course, this is a good thing when you go to get lost in a suspenseful thrilling book. Once again, Charlotte and her friend are the center of this story and we see them much as we did in the first book. Only this time we learn much more about their secrets and all that people tend to be hiding. Even when we think we know them the best. I absolutely loved it and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book! Thanks for the great read Ms. Holloway!

I really wasn’t prepared for how this story ended yet when I got there it all made perfect sense. Author Ro Holloway has done an excellent job with this story. I loved it!

Less You Know by Rowena Holloway is the second book in the Ashes to Ashes series. This can be read as a standalone and be enjoyed. I was excited to read this book because I enjoyed the first one in the series a lot. The character of Charlotte continues to grow but this also means she finds herself falling into some strange rabbit holes in her investigations. Lies and coverups are all over the place and it makes her question everything she knows. I enjoyed the writing because it kept the story at a good pace and I didn't want to put the book down. The characters are interesting and add to the overall suspense and mystery. I look forward to more from Rowena Holloway in the future.

Less You Know by Rowena Holloway is the second book in the Ashes to Ashes series. This book is an enthralling as the first one. Centred around two best friends it explores the fact that we never really know people as well as we think we do.
This book absolutely grabbed my attention. I had to know what was going to happen; where had Allie gone? What secrets had she been hiding? Could Charlotte find her? Would Charlotte disappear next. I could feel my heart thumping at times as I was reading this book. It truly was edge of your seat type reading.
Rowena Holloway has such a gripping writing style. I am glad that I have discovered her work!

When everyone surrounding Charlotte has secrets, including her, she knows she can trust no one. Dealing with the same people surrounding Joey's murder and with some new twists the Less you know picks up where the previous mystery left off. Charlotte wants to take them down. Her friend is missing and the deeper she digs, the more frustrated and confused things get.
Charlotte is the kind of Flawed Character that you want to see succeed. Even when she's out of her depth, and completely unprepared, you want her to makes it.
I enjoyed book 2 more than I did book 1! The Characters and The twisting plot make this book bend the page. I would definitely recommend it.

This is an action, suspense-thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat until the last page. I enjoyed the twists and turns that just kept coming. Charlotte thought she was going to enjoy Christmas Day with her friend until her friend didn’t show up. What happened to Allie? Was there a link between her and the former football star? I enjoyed how determined to find the truth Charlotte was. She made the story for me. I highly recommend reading this book, find out what happened to Allie.

What a fantastic roller coaster! Literally, this book grabbed hold of me tightly with the first page. I was glued to my seat as I poured over every page attempting to figure out what was going on and who was responsible. The author establishes a very clear tone reinforced by the narration by two characters. Really enjoyed this thrilling whodunit. Definitely recommended reading!

a great read about truth. After the events of the last book, Allie is eager to spend Christmas with friends. But it all goes wrong with a knock on the door. Charlottes life is turned upside down when Allie goes missing and fears for her safety. Desperate to find her charlotte must uncover some seceets totry and find her friend. Can she discover the truth before its too late?
a great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Although i did find the Tyrone Garned subplots distracted the narrative from the search for Allie at times but it does make sense in the end. Well developed characters like charlotte standing up for herself but concerned for her friend. i loved how the sequel was more about Allie, to flesh out this character from the first novel as shy and reserved but more to her than it first appears.
i loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the senseof Christmas with the lights and tree and also the smells of cake and sounds of music for a warm feel that can also hide dangers perfectly writfen. The use of suspense was drawn out to perfection as you raced to solvefhe myserty and find Allie with Charlotte,. The switch of perspectives worked well once again to display both sides of the stroy and was easy to follow. The times and dates for each chapter werea a great addition once again and helped to fuel the fast paced feel of ghe novel and time fo find Allieslipping way quickly. Fast paced actions and high stakes made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and i eould givd it four stars.

Less You Know is the second book in Rowena Holloway’s Ashes to Ashes series. I have to admit I was biting at the bit to read this story. I will warn you make sure you read Bad Things Happen as this is the first book in the series and it lays the ground work for Less You Know. Rowena Holloway has a way of weaving a web of a story because one never knows what is going on until you are in the web. This is a psychological thriller, suspense, danger, secrets, and lots of twists and turns. There were several times that I was totally off base in my thinking and replayed the story in my head to just imagine what happened. That to me makes the story a great read. If you can be directed in one way of your thoughts of what is going on just to be slapped in the head because you totally missed it makes me seek out other stories by Rowena Holloway because she ranks high in my author’s I love.

Briefly Charlotte Ashe is up to it again. She is investigating again this time with her friend Allie. Charlotte did not realize there were secrets in Allie’s life that come out and takes Charlotte back. Charlotte does not know what to do but she is sure of one thing, she needs to find Allie and get everything out in the open.

All I can say is, “WOW!” Less You Know is the second book in the Ashes to Ashes series by Rowena Holloway. Now I will also say that you really need to read the first book before reading this one. There is a lot of information that book that will give you a foundation for this book. Charlotte Ashe wants to expose Tyrone Garner. That is until Charlottes best friend Allie goes missing. Now there are all kinds of questions that arise. Charlotte is definitely on a mission to find her friend and uncover the real truths behind Tyrone Garner. Just like the first book, there are so many twists and turns that you will run into, which make this story riveting! I seriously could not put this book down! Charlotte’s character has really changed in the sense that she’s much more sure of herself and has serious guts! She has grown since her first appearance in the first book. I really love this series! This author is amazing at her descriptions and she definitely has a way of pulling you in and keeping you interested the whole way through. Truly captivating writing! There is also a cliffhanger that has you sitting on the edge of your seat wanting more and more! I cannot wait for the next book in the series! I hope it is just as good and the last two book have been.

Less You Know is the second book in the Ashes to Ashes series. It is left open for the story to continue. I recommend reading the first book to get a solid background on the characters and the events that led up to the second book.

Less You Know is all over the place, and not in a bad way. The author has written the story in such a way that it keeps you guessing. Characters coming at you from all sides and misdirection (or is it?) keeps you hooked.

If you read the first book you will understand why I say this: at one point while reading Less You Know, I wanted to smack Charlotte and ask her what she was thinking. I mean, seriously. Oi vey! But that is part of the entertainment, watching the characters do both expected and unexpected things. After the developments in this book, I find myself liking Garner a little bit more. And Piers…what an (insert a colorful expletive here). Of course, with the way these stories are written, who knows how things will play out. I might end up changing my mind about any or all of the characters.

Intense. Suspense. Drama. Unanswered questions. Must have answers! Looking forward to the next book. (There better be a next book, lol)!

I give Less You Know: gripping suspense (Ashes to Ashes Book 2) by Rowena Holloway, 4 stars.
*This review may contain spoilers from book one of the series.*

Charlotte is still feeling the loss of her mentor and the murder of the man that could have broken a story wide open for her. But she has gained a really good friend and things are going well with her boyfriend. That is until she decides to change her plans over Christmas. She goes off with her boyfriend and blows off the dinner she was supposed to attend at Allie's. Biggest mistake of her life. After not hearing from Allie for a few days afterwards, she goes to her place, only to find it ransacked and Allie missing. Is this all tied to the man she had been investigating? Or is there more to Allie than what appears? Is Charlotte in over her head?

This is a great book full of suspense. Charlotte has grown since book one, and it is great to see her come into herself more. Plus we learn more about who she really is and her past. Plus we learn so much more about Allie. She was introduced to us in book one, but this book is all about her. As fitting for the series, there is so much going on, you won't get all of the angles until the very end. It keeps you in the edge of your seat. It is not necessary really to read book one, but you will understand more if you do.

If you are a fan of suspense and strong female characters, this book is for you.

LESS YOU KNOW is book 2 in the "Ashes to Ashes" Series and I'm not really sure it should be read as a stand-alone. There are a lot of references to book 1 AND if you aren't used to the writing style AND lost on plot points, I think it would be a less enjoyable reading experience for you - and let's face it... the point of reading is to have the best experience possible.

This is a multi-layered story with different threads that run throughout. It's a mystery/suspense with twists and turns along the way. It's one of those stories that I thought I had a handle on and then *poof* oh wait, there is something I missed. The story is fluid and, like with book 1, the timeline is well defined and told from multiple POV. Several times, I had to look back at the chapter headings to figure out what time it was and whose POV I was reading.

I've enjoyed watching the MC grow and find her voice and I would recommend this series (read in order, of course).
