They call me Lucky. I never want to play the same hand twice. Until a gorgeous single mom deals me a hand I can’t refuse.
I’m one of the Devil’s Riders, the inner circle of the biggest MC in Southern California. I’m just back from my final deployment. I paid my dues, and now I just want to enjoy myself.
That means fast bikes, stiff drinks and easy women. As many as I can get.
At least that’s what I thought I wanted. Until I see her. Working the tables at an underground gambling den run by the local mafia, Kirsten is like a beautiful rose blooming in a pile of garbage. They might own her but she doesn’t belong there.
Neither of us do.
I risk my life every time I go back to see her, but I just can’t stay away. She turns me down again and again. But the night her world threatens to implode, I learn her secret. There is nothing that will stop me now. It’s her kid who finally helps me break down her walls. Once we start, it’s too late. We are both in too deep. I might be risking both of our lives, but I can’t get enough. I’m addicted to her and nothing in Heaven or Hell will stop me.
I’ll save her and her kid if it’s the last thing I ever do.
Luck of The Devil is the sixth book in the Devil’s Riders series. It can be read as a standalone. As always, this book has a guaranteed Happy Ever After and no cheating!
Joanna Blake loves good old fashioned romance, men who open doors and work with their hands. Hot Blooded Heroes is a series of sizzling stories about True Blue American men and the women who love them. She's thrilled to be collaborating with Pincushion Press on her new series! Come along for the ride! XoX, Joanna *********
I love MC reads, but it's so hard to find decent ones.
I've read all of the ones that came before this one, and I have to admit that I was a little hesitant to read this one after I read the blurb. I am so happy that I gave in and read it.
Loved how fast Lucky fell for his Angel (Kirsten). Kirsten tried to keep her walls up, but Lucky tore them down brick by brick.
Lucky has always been just that. He got through his deployments okay. He has luck playing cards and enjoying women without having to try. Then visiting a illegal gambling den run by the mob he sees an angel! His angel is everything he didn't know he was looking for. Now he knows how all his club brothers felt when they met the one. But she is in trouble, he sees it and he is determined to do whatever it takes to get her safe. Kirsten made a deal with the mob and now she has to pay back the money. But working under Sal is killing her and it is only a matter of time before he takes what she isn't willing to give. Lucky wants to help but she is terrified that he will get hurt. Will he still want her when finds out what she is hiding?
I am a long time fan of Ms Blake and I can honestly say she gets better with every book. Lucky is the embodiment of his name. He does what he wants, when he wants, gambles professionally as his job. He doesn't have to do anything to get a woman until he meets Kirsten. The guys give him a hard time about it, which was awesome. Kirsten is a great female character, unique in what she has gone through. The detail Ms Blake puts into her books just makes the story so much better, makes the characters live and breathe. This is part of the Devil's Riders series. To get the full effect, please read the rest of the series! Five stars for Lucky and his Angel!
Let me start off by saying Joanna’s stories keep getting better and better! This one did not disappoint! Lucky is my new book boyfriend. (Shhh... don’t tell my husband...)
Lucky starts off as immature drunk until he goes to a MOB poker warehouse place and he sees one of the card dealers and feels love at first sight. He says she looks like an angel. His angel. He thinks she is too innocent to be there... and he was right. Kirsten is working for the MOB to pay back a debt. She’s forced to wear skimpy clothes and makeup to look cheap. So far she hasn’t been forced to do anything except deal cards. One thing leads to another and Lucky is pursuing her when something goes bad and Lucky helps her. I won’t say what though... you need to read the book. Oh, and she has a young daughter.
I highly recommend this one! This is part of a series, but can probably be read on its own.
Another incredible story! I absolutely loved Lucky and Kirsten! I loved the way you wrote Kirsten as a mom first trying to do whatever it took to make sure her daughter had the medicine she needed. I think this will hit home with a lot of mother's out there. I just loved the way Lucky fell at first sight and jumped in to do what he thought was necessary to keep his Angel safe and well taken care of. I loved how when he found out about Jacey he never waivered on keeping her and his Angel safe and taken care of. And I just loved the way he did not pressure her to go any further with their relationship once he heard about her promise to God. And the way him and his family pulled together a wedding so fast was awesome. I loved the entire book, and I always love reading the updates on the rest of the family.

It's review time 🎧 Warning ⚠️: bikers, a sick little girl, a macho man, mafia involved.
Narrator score🎧 ; both narrator's were just great, Troy was amazing as always.
Level of steam🔥: well it took time and I loved the fact that it was a slow burn, because he was horny as hell. And I liked that because of her promise they couldn't have sex until....
Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: well I think that the female mc had enough suffering for us all.... but the book wasn't sad per say it was a very easy story... it wasn't easy going but it was easy every solution came like a magic.
The book itself📖: well, first I need to say the story was cute it was nicely written and I liked it. But I think that the story had a lot of problems as well, I will not write them all, but I will say that I didn't like the fact he didn't left her a choice and the fact that she was so needy I understand her life, but nevertheless I think she needed to be more careful about everyone... but the story was cute....
Another amazing book from Joanna. This is book 6 in the devil riders series, t can be read as a stand alone but I would highly recommend you start with the first book and read on from there.
This book follows Lucky, he is a member of the devil riders and a professional underground gambler. He meets a woman named Kirsten (he calls her his angel), she is a card dealer working for the mob. Kirsten is in debt with the mob due to her child’s health issues, Lucky vows he will get her out of that life.
I really loved how Joanna brought cystic fibrosis awareness in her book. The characters were well developed and showed growth throughout the book. I do wish there was more of an epilogue but still it was a great book!
another great story from joanna blake ,it had it all drama, steam and even some sweet tender moments, the only thing that bugged me at first was it changed pov's sometime to other people besides lucky and kirsten , it confused me a little but then it all mades sense and did not take away from a great story. i also want to say i thought the character of jacey was wonderflly written with such attention to detail it really made her character come to life.
Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.
I enjoyed this book. It’s a series and it’s the first one I read, easy to follow. One look, and Lucky sure fell fast for Kirsten ( his Angel). Loved how he was so protective and fell for her and her daughter. There’s updated from prior characters and loved getting many points of view. Loved the ending. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I recommend this book.
Lucky was absolutely amazing. But I expected nothing less from Joanna. I loved how strong willed Kirsten was and how quirky Lucky was. I also loved the pet name “Angel” that was very swoon worthy. This was such an amazing book.
I love Joanna Blake's books and this one didn't disappoint! Lucky is my new favorite of Blake's characters! I loved everything about this book and not to mention a bit of the Bob throw it. Absolutely. Loved. It.
He was feeling dissatisfied with his life, even though people thought he was lucky, but he put on a good front for his family and friends. She’s a very pretty single mom , who got caught up in life,. She’s barely holding it together when she meets him. He wants her instantly, but she has responsibilities to her sick daughter, he finds out that she’s being made to work for some bad people, because she need medicine for her daughter. He’s lucky at her table, thats how they met and started out having feelings for him. Instant attraction, turns to true love.
Playing poker was his job. He was good at it. He was good with women too. Not that he planned to get tied down like most of the guys in his MC. That is until playing and doing fine at the table, he had to look around. Yeah, same dump he'd come in so how did the Angel at that table end up here? The other dealers were worn out women of the night or strippers but not her. That was the beginning. He didn't know why but he had to have her and she wanted nothing to do with him. Never had he had to work for a woman--till now.
Kirsten didn't need a big gorgeous guy making her life even more difficult. She had one reason to do everything she did. A sweet daughter. A sick, sweet daughter and she'd do whatever it took to keep her healthy. Even work here. But there was more too much more. When he tried to help her she didn't believe that's all he wanted. Men didn't do things without expecting payment. She just had to keep her head down and do her job till she could go home to her sweet girl.
Lucky knew the guys who ran the games. They were bad news. He had to find out why she was mixed up with them especially after he saw fear in her eyes. So begins a dangerous game that doesn't pay in cash. If he wins it will be the future he never knew he wanted.
This is an MC of loyal men and their women. They run a clean club and depend on the others as their family. I loved the visit with the other couples from the series to catch up on their lives. They guys may give each other a hard time but they are always by the side of brothers when needed. So Kirsten learns.
This one is steamy, funny, touching, and makes you feel good. I'll be reading it and the series again. Don't miss it.
Aptly named, Lucky was a football player in high school, he’s served as a marine and is now a member of SOS MC brotherhood.
To hear it said, he’s been spoilt by easy women since puberty and has never had to attempt overtures for a women, they flocked to him.
Kristen is a Dealer at an underground gambling circuit forced to work to pay a debt to the mob syndication. She’s unlike club girls, the marine groupies or football groupies. He sees her during his visit and is taken with her but she is wary and tries to keep her
From reading the last two books in this series, the H’s are very generously endowed.
Preacher is the best::: ‘seriously?’ loud enough for the crowd to hear. Everyone laughed as he continued. “How the hell did a grunt like you end up with this glorious woman?” “You, my lovely girl, are far too good for this jag off. Are you absolutely sure you want me to go through with the ceremony?” Preacher gave a long suffering sigh and raised his eyes to the sky, as if to question God himself. “Good evening and welcome. We are gathered here today to join in holy matrimony this gloriously beautiful woman and this unworthy son of a bitch, who does more than live up to his name.” “For some reason, this obviously charitable woman has decided to tie her life to this delinquent.” If my Angel thought his weddings were bad, I would have to make sure she never saw one of his funerals.
“And do you, beautiful but foolhardy woman, take this son-of-a-bitch to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, until death do you part? Now keep in mind, I can always arrange for you to be widowed if you do decide you want to try an older man for a change. We have a lot going for us, you know. Stamina for one thing.”

***Received an ARC from the Author for my honest review***
As before Joanna Blake is a brilliant Author who writes the most beautiful and exiting romance books. Thank you for the opportunity to read this wonderful book.
Lucky got back from a tour overseas and headed to the only place he called home and that is The Devil's Riders. At times he had this really cool demeanor. He was mostly a calm person and that is what I liked most about him.
Kristen worked at a mafia gambling house and that is where she meets Lucky. She was a single mother to a daughter who was very sick and because of her daughters illness she was in debt with the mafia. Trouble came lurking at her workplace and she was in the middle of it. The problem is she cannot just up and leave to protect herself and her daughter because of her debt and it was too dangerous. After an incident at her workplace Kristen was in serious trouble. Can Lucky or his club help or would the trouble come for her?
Lucky was such a good man and so loving towards Kristen and Jacey. This was a beautiful insta love story and I just loved it.
I highly recommend this book not only to MC lovers but also to Romance lovers.
This is Lucky’s story, the oft-mentioned but least seen MC member d/t his Marine deployment. Lucky returns from his last deployment and has plans to jump right back into his old ways of gambling and women. No plans to settle down, he just wants to have fun with life. But, that all ends when he gets his first glimpse of Kirsten at an underground Mob poker ring. He is entranced by her, but she won’t really give him too much of her attention and he is not used to that. Women usually fall at his feet b/c he is gorgeous and a bad boy biker. Kirsten has too much on her plate already, a sick child and a handsy/leering mob boss at the top of her list. Lucky doesn’t give up so easily though. When trouble comes knocking it does it in the biggest way possible and the only way out is for Kirsten to put her trust in this big, sexy biker and the brothers of his MC. Will Lucky ultimately lock down his girl and make the trouble disappear? We are talking about the Devil’s Riders MC after all and his name is Lucky so you do the math, but I think you will definitely enjoy the latest tale in this series and recommend one-clicking it!
This is book 6 in the Devil Riders series and this is Lucky and Kirsten/Angel's story. Their meeting was an insta-love affair. Lucky is determined to save and protect Kirsten/Angel from the danger she is in, no matter what the consequences are to him. Kirsten in debt with the mob due to her child’s health issues, and has been forced into working for the mob as a card dealer to pay back a debt. She’s been forced to wear skimpy clothes and makeup to look super cheap. Luckily, she hasn’t been forced to do anything except deal cards at an underground mob warehouse. It's here that Lucky runs into Kirsten and it's love at first sight. Lucky lets Kirsten know he is the man for her and that he isn't going to run from danger ; that he's the man whose going to save her. That's good because something bad happens and Kirsten goes running to Lucky, and he goes on to be that Man to help protect and save her. Their insta-love story is sweet and full of heat, drama, tension, angst, twists, turns and beautiful love.
I really wanted to like it but the interactions between Lucky and Kirsten were just too sweet and perfect. The major obstacle of the story was resolved so quick it didn’t feel like a big problem. I didn’t really connect with Kirsten and I am somewhat shocked she was able to thrive with the way she handle majority of the situations. She constantly put herself in multiple kinds of danger but didn’t really do anything to protect herself. If Lucky hadn’t come along, I’m pretty sure Kirsten would’ve experience some terrible things.
Possible Spoilers:
The major conflict was completely handled by 64% into the book; the rest of the book is Lucky and Kirsten saying how much they love each other. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy a good loving interaction but there was really no need for so much of that, it felt like a filler that kept going.
Jacey was cute, but I feel like we didn’t get to know her all that well, although she was mentioned frequently. As always I do love the glimpse into the past couples and what they are up to now.
{Lucky & Kirsten}: TRIGGERS: mafia, cystic fibrosis, gambling, sexual assault, sex trade. Lucky is finally home from deployment and getting some much needed R&R in the local gambling spots. Until he sees her at one of the clubs run by the Mafia. He is smitten but can tell she's in trouble. Kirsten will do anything for her sick daughter. That included taking a loan from a mob boss and paying it back by being a dealer in their casino type club. Only she's caught the eye of one of the made men who likes to sell the girls. He wants her for himself and will make her pay if she doesn't give in. The night they meet, Kirsten immediately feels safe with Lucky. And Lucky makes the decision that she's his. So he starts the process and calls his brothers to help remove her from the situation. I liked this story. Kirsten was understandably skittish but despite the appearance of the Devil's Riders, she knew they were trustworthy.i loved Lucky. He was so sweet and ready to call forever with Kirsten. There's drama, violence and a lot of sexy times.
Lucky and Angel are a match made in Rider Heaven! Angel is trying to keep her head above water. Some would say it was foolish to get into bed with a mob to pay for her daughter's much needed treatments, but if push came to shove she wouldn’t hesitate to make the same call again for her little girl. She just wishes she could dig her way out from under the debt and finally get free of their clutches. Alas she is beholden to them and has to no choice but work herself to the bone for the skeezy psychotic Sal no matter the risks. Lucky lives up to his name. He wants for nothing wether it be excitement, money, women or drink. He thought he was sitting pretty until an God’s honest Angel caught his eye. He never got his brothers obsession with their women until he caught a glimpse of this beauty and saw a future in her eyes. But also in those eyes he can she’s in trouble and he’s bound and determined to be her white knight.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book
This is a terrific read and a wonderful addition to this series. Lucky and Kirsten's story story is filled with charm, heat, sweetness, drama, excitement, action, danger, humor and love. Lucky is incredibly charming, surprisingly sweet, 100% alpha male and a great guy that never thought he would be a one woman man until that moment he first sees Kirsten. Kirsten you could really feel for. As a struggling single mom that is fueled by love, determination and desperation, your heart truly bleeds for her. She is fierce, strong, realistic and relatable. Together these two made such an amazing couple. They both really needed the other and they fit perfectly together like two pieces of a puzzle. The storyline is very engaging and fun but also offers readers some powerful, emotional content. All of these things are beautifully crafted into a simply excellent read. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Lucky may be lucky when he gambles, but he sure hit the jackpot when he met Kirsten and Jacey. His angel and her daughter bring new meaning to Lucky’s life that he never imagine was for him, but in a split second found out what love at first sight truly meant. He isn’t the only lucky one though because Kirsten and Jacey find out Lucky is just what they need and what it’s like to be loved and protected at all costs no matter what obstacles come along with them. The connection and spark between Lucky and Kirsten is off the charts and Lucky’s sense of humor brings some fun to the story even when things are tense. I loved how his brothers from the club and their wife’s are there for them at every turn and how we get to see the growth of their lives as this book and each one going forward takes place. Joanna, really keeps out doing herself in this series. She writes with such wit, humor and amazing detail. Loved the book and looking forward to the next!
Luck of the Devil is book six in The Devil’s Riders MC series. Lucky comes back from a tour overseas and wants nothing more than to lose himself in a night of booze and gambling, so he heads to the local underground gambling den called The Garage. Kirsten just needed to pay back the debt she owes to the mob, than her and her daughter Jacey can finally be free to live their lives, the only problem seems to be that her debt doesn’t seem to be going away no matter how much she gives back. When a drunken Lucky stumbles into her life, things turn upside down in a matter of days, leaving Kirsten with a different problem than what she started with. When the pair are forced into hiding, sparks start to fly, but Kirsten keeps turning him down and looking for ways to leave him behind. Will Lucky be able to make Kirsten see they are right for each other? I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book.
This author really knows how to write passionate alpha bikers. This story was such fun to read, and if you have been following the series, it was great to re-visit old characters. This story was instant for both Lucky and for me as a reader. I was instantly hooked, and instantly in love with Lucky.
Lucky is a bit lost in life and he soon finds himself obsessed with an Angel. I loved his instant connection to her and how he took care of her, even when she was still on the fence. I will say, Kristen did bug me a time or two with her mistrust of Lucky, but I get where she was coming from. And I might gave been a bot over protective of Lucky...
The story is full length, and filled with everything MC yummy. Alpha men, a mafia enemy, a sassy women, a cute kid, past characters, brotherhood bonded from friendship, and love. Swoon. You don't want to miss this story!
Luck of the Devil is a welcome addition to the Devil’s Rider series.
I enjoyed this book very much. Even though this is the sixth book in the series, you can read this book as a stand-alone. The author smartly gives you synopsis of each of the previous books, so you have a sense of the other characters in the book and better understanding of the hero of this book. If you love alpha males with a heart of gold, then you are going to love this book. The heroine is stuck in a situation she really doesn’t want to be in, but she is making the best of it, because she has to. Lucky learns very quickly that she needs help, and knows he has to help her whether or not she decides to give him a chance. I can’t really give you much more about the story without spoiling it, just take it from me this is a real feel good book. I can’t wait for the next installment in the series.
Luck of the Devil is the 6th book in this series. I'm absolutely loving the Devils Riders books but must admit Lucky and Kirsten are my new favourite couple. You can really feel the emotions Joanna Blake poured into these words and I love how we see Lucky grow throughout the book. This had me hooked throughout and I really felt for Kirsten and everything she went through to give Jacey everything she could. It really had me at times and even brought tears to my eyes. I loved this book and I also loved the catch up with other characters in the Devils Riders. I really hope you one click it as soon as you can and read a raw, emotional and entertaining story of Lucky and his Angel.
I loved Lucky's story! He was witty, loving, and caring, even though he was a bit full of himself. However, what alpha male isn't! Blake, once again, created a powerful character that is all heart and all alpha. Lucky does a complete 180 when he meets Kirsten. I absolutely adored all of the insights to the other riders and their women. I love to keep track of characters; it makes me feel invested, like family!
I do wish we could have seen their relationship grow a bit more. It almost felt rushed, in a way. I would have also liked to have seen more background information on Kirsten and her daughter. I'm always game for more suspense, too!
In any case, I absolutely adored this book and I absolutely cannot wait to read more about this MC.
