Exciting Trip To America To Help A Friend's Son

Intense adventure as Ryker is asked by the ailing wife of an old friend to keep her son from harm. He has to make a trip to the USA, as her son now resides there with his fiancee, but he has nothing going on so decides to assist .
The girl's father is a well-known tough guy, operating some clubs with mentions of much more. The young man, Scott Campbell, is quickly becoming more involved with his new ' father in law', and as horrific actions begin Ryker does his best to find out all and get the couple safe.
An enthralling adventure as a turf war develops and Ryker, with no backup or reason to be in the country must use all his skills to survive and complete what he has come for!
Another outstanding story by this author!!!

Ryker received a message through a channel no-one but his old boss, Mackie should have known about. But Mackie was dead. The call for help came from Mackie’s widow, Janet Campbell. She was afraid for her son, Scott who’d moved to New York with his girlfriend, Kate after losing his accountancy job in London.

Scott wanted to impress Kate’s father, Henry Green, despite the fact he is aware Green’s business methods are suspect, to say the least. Just how suspect is apparent soon enough but Scott allows himself to be drawn in as Green’s accountant, his desire for wealth and status warring with doubt and apprehension for the possible consequences and the dread of Kate’s disapproval.

Scott had always felt the lack of his father as was growing up. Mackie was always at work and Scott believed he thought more of Ryker than he did of his son. Scott feels like he has something to prove, even though his father is no longer there.

Regardless of the offer of help and subsequent warnings from Peter Winter, Ryker’s old boss and the head of the JIA, Ryker travels to New York without authorisation and under an assumed name. His only goal is to extricate Campbell from Green’s influence but he hadn’t expected to be caught between gangster battles and the FBI. Meanwhile Scott is treading a fine line between fear, as he’s drawn ever deeper into Green’s criminal world, and pleasure at the rewards.

The Green Viper continues the theme of fast paced, tense and action filled story lines with a protagonist who, over the course of the two series, we’ve come to know and love—despite the fact it’s an incredible feat to survive for this long in Ryker’s world and after everything he’s been through since we first met him as JIA operative, Carl Logan.

Ryker’s personal losses have impacted on him, his personality tempered by his experiences. This is shown to great effect in this story by the way he handles the rescue mission and his obvious concern for Scott. If I have one small niggle it’s the use again of a particular torture method, otherwise the book is as well written, suspenseful and enjoyable as always.

I chose to read and review The Green Viper based on a copy of the book supplied by the author.

Just when I thought there was no more Ryker books he's back Woo Hoo....Not excited much but I bloody love this series, if you didn't already know.

Rob Sinclair brings us yet another fast paced action packed story that will you have hooked from start to finish... I couldn't put it down after reading such a wicked prologue...it is nerve racking and exciting at the same time The story starts of in London then we are taken to New York we catch up with Ryker on an roller coaster journey after he receives a coded message which is a cry for help. And that's just a taster....believe me you guys are in for one hell off a treat.

I really don't know how the author does it...each book gets better and better. Leaving no room for improvement, I cannot wait to read the next book. Which reminds me that I am still waiting for someone to buy the film rights so we can see the movies....that's how good this series is.

This story has plenty of OMG moments and some rather gruesome descriptions. Absolutely
nail biting stuff The Green Viper will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat. It is gritty with a capital G!

Perfect Jack Reacher fans I cannot recommend it enough giving it all the stars.

This originally appeared at The Irresponsible Reader.
---
This is the fourth James Ryker novel, but the first I've read. This leaves me at somewhat of a disadvantage -- but not an insurmountable one. Someone from his past reaches out to him -- in an unconventional manner -- for some help. Janet Campbell, the widow of the man who trained Ryker, who molded him into the intelligence agent/assassin he'd become is worried about their son and wants Ryker to step in for his sake.

Now, I don't know if the series has featured Campbell or Charles McCabe (her husband) before -- it's not unheard of for a thriller to introduce an old, dear friend mid-series just to get the protagonist involved in something. I'm sure if they were around early on, returning readers were invested right away. But if this was their first appearance in the series, Sinclair introduced Campbell in such a way that it worked for me as a hook -- I was invested because of Campbell more than because of Ryker.

Scott Campbell really never connected with his father, and his life has gone in a very different direction. He was an accountant at a prestigious London firm until recently, leaving under a cloud. He and his girlfriend, Kate Green, left England to get away from that cloud and moved to New York City for a fresh start. Well, mostly fresh. Kate's father, Henry Green, is a fairly notorious criminal and nightclub owner. To make a little money, Scott does a few odd jobs for Henry (while Kate dreads Scott's participation in her father's business). Those odd jobs grow more serious as Green begins to trust him more.

Which is precisely the thing that Janet Campbell is worried about. So, enter James Ryker -- a former intelligence officer between gigs. Once he arrives in NYC, he spends some time surveilling Scott and Kate to see what exactly is going on, and then he goes all-i to try to extricate them from the dangerous position that Scott has put them in. Which is a lot more dangerous than Ryker knows, as another drug dealer tries to move in on Green's turf, and the FBI are preparing to make a few arrests.

What follows is exciting, tense, fast-paced and full of more surprises than I expected. Okay, that sounds like a tautology -- with a book like this, you expect a few things to occur that you don't expect (whatever that might end up being). The Green Viper gave me more of those things that I didn't expect. A couple of them were pretty big surprises, too -- so more and of greater magnitude than I expected.

The characters were well-drawn, but they all could've been a bit more three-dimensional. No one that we spent much time with at all was exactly two-dimensional (thankfully, I've had too much of that lately), but they all could've had a little more. By and large, for a thriller with this many moving pieces the characters were either as well-drawn as you might assume to meet, or a little better. Still, I want more. Characters are what hook me more than anything else in a book, and these were good enough, but I wanted more. Particularly Ryker -- he's the title character, and I really don't think I know much more about him than I do any of the other characters (I might know Scott the best), and that doesn't seem right.

The other thing I would've liked more of was the actual work done by Ryker. Not just him showing up where Scott doesn't expect him -- but how he got there, why he decides to show himself to Scott then. For example. From Finder to Child to Sharp and beyond, it's the mechanics of their intelligence work that draws me in as much as the fight scenes or whatever. Sinclair is good at delivering the big moments -- gun fights, chase scenes, and the like. But he could do better with the smaller moments -- trailing someone, deciding to follow this line of investigation or reasoning. I guess you could say the story's strong, it just feels like he has to many ellipses in it -- let me see more of the connections between the moments.

Basically, I'm saying that I enjoyed the book -- but I thought Sinclair could've given his readers a little more of everything. It was a good novel, but with a little more it could've been really good. The pacing is good, you get drawn in and the story really doesn't let you go. I technically spent 2 days reading this, but about 80 percent of that was in one sitting -- If I'd put off starting by a day, it would've been a one-sitting kind of book -- start it, get sucked in and ignore the world until the bullets stop flying and the smoke clears. A very satisfying way to spend a couple of hours.

I enjoyed this book, the characters and the world Sinclair has created. Might I have had more appreciation for some of this if it weren't my first Ryker novel? Sure. Am I curious enough about what I read to come back in book 5 (or go back to books 1-3)? Yeah, I think so -- Sinclair's a capable author and he's got himself a fun world to play in. You should give this one a try -- or one of the earlier books -- and I'm willing to bet that you'll end up agreeing with me, Rob Sinclair's James Ryker is an action hero worth your time.

This series just gets better and better, if that’s at all possible. Ryker is undoubtedly one of my favourite fictional characters and Rob Sinclair is undoubtedly one of my favourite authors.
If you haven’t read the other books in this series then I highly recommend you do so, in order, if for no other reason than you are seriously missing out if you don’t!
The Green Viper (book 4) finds Ryker in receipt of a coded message at a secret location. A secret location only he and one other person knows about and that other person is his ex-boss who is now dead! When he realises the message is from his ex-boss’s widow, he accepts her death bed plea to help their son, Campbell, who has managed to get himself involved with some seriously dodgy criminals who hide their extra income behind seemingly successful, legitimate, businesses. These people are obsessed with money and power. Certainly not the kind of people I would choose to associate with, but Campbell is already involved with one of their daughters and finds the lure of thousands of pounds at a time and fancy cars too much to resist, despite having his reservations. Feuding ‘business men’, full of greed, want what the other has and Campbell finds himself in the middle of it all with Ryker trying to discreetly find a way of extricating him from the volatile situation, but it was never going to be an easy task.
This book is extremely fast-paced and full of action. Sometimes quite brutally violent! I do love the fight scenes. Ryker certainly knows how to handle himself. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, this series needs to be on TV. I think it would be awesome.
I was totally captivated, as with the previous books in the series. I loved the very last line of the book! I’m so glad I’m able to start book 5 straight away! Watch this space for my review of The White Scorpion.

I have read and reviewed a couple of Rob’s books now and absolutely loved them. I read the synopsis for ‘The Green Viper’ and I was immediately intrigued. It sounded like just the book for me- full of suspense, drama, intrigue, espionage, violence, blood and guts. I eagerly picked my copy of the book up and began to read. Blimey oh riley ‘The Green Viper’ is one hell of a read and I absolutely loved it but more about that in a bit.
James Ryker is one hell of a fascinating character. He is a former intelligence agent who now works on his own. Ryker is a bit of a loner and works on his own. He is rather mysterious and he keeps himself to himself. He very rarely lets anybody past his own defences and he remains loyal to those who he considers to be friends. I imagine Ryker to be tall, dark and handsome and he put me in mind of a certain Mr. Bond. Ryker is strong, determined, stubborn, crafty, cunning, intelligent, quick thinking and he is most certainly on the ball. He is able to get himself out of some very dangerous situations either by his actions or by words out of his mouth. Ryker is rather intimidating and there’s always an air of danger around him. I certainly wouldn’t want to come up against him as he scares the poop out of me, but then I am a bit of a cowardy custard. People would have to be silly to take Ryker on as it were. That said, you would definitely want Ryker on your side and you know that if he is protecting you, you are safe. That’s how I would feel anyway.
‘The Green Viper’ is extremely well written. The author is able to catch your attention from the first word and much like a fisherman with a fish, the author reels you in. He uses such vivid and powerful descriptions that I felt as though I was part of the story and I was ‘living’ the story. I know, I know this is a fictional book but it seemed ‘real’ to me and the characters and storylines just seemed to jump off the page.
Oh my giddy aunt, ‘The Green Viper’ was one hell of a fast, at times scary and unpredictable rollercoaster ride of a read, which definitely gets the adrenaline flowing freely. It was definitely a case of ‘sit down, buckle up and enjoy the ride’. The story hits the ground running and maintains the pace throughout. From the moment I picked the book up, I was hooked on the story and I found it nigh on impossible to put the book down. My Kindle wasn’t exactly glued to my hand but it might as well have been because I took the book everywhere with me. I felt like I was an addict in desperate need of her next fix. If I had to put the book down for any reason, then I would try to find a reason to be able to pick the book up again just as soon as I could. Everything was on hold until I finished the book. This book has to be one of the most action packed books I have read so far this year.
To conclude, I absolutely loved this book and I can’t wait to read the next one. I would definitely recommend this author and his books to other readers. James Ryker does put me in mind of a certain Mr. Bond and a certain Mr. Reacher, but in my opinion Ryker is the best of the three characters. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

Green Viper is the next thrilling instalment in the Ryker series.

This book centres around the return of Ryker following a cry for help note left in one of Ryker’s safe places which only Ryker and Mackie knew about. Ryker knows is can’t be Mackie as he died so who can it be and what does this person want with Ryker? Especially as he’s a civilian and no longer with the JIA.

We join Ryker as he travels to New York to help somebody very close to Mackie, someone who Ryker has known since he was a child, Mackie’s son, Scott Campbell. We follow Ryker as he goes about sorting out a small problem, who am I kidding, no problem is ever small that Ryker gets involved in!

Ryker becomes embroiled in the complicated world of narcotics and ends up also having to deal with the FBI as well, however in usual Ryker style we can expect him to make friends with one of them to sort the situation out, with lots of twists, turns along with the usual scenes of destruction that he brings to his way of dealing with things.

This was a great read and I am so pleased Ryker is back. We all need a bit of Ryker in our lives.

Edge of Seat Thriller
The Green Viper by Rob Sinclair is a masterfully executed edge of seat thriller, ideal for fans or the genre or those looking to lose themselves in an addictive read.
Although the book is the fourth in the author’s James Ryker series it works perfectly well as a stand-a-lone. Readers who have been following Ryker in this series and in the author’s previous Carl Logan books will however appreciate revisiting the shadowy world Ryker inhabits and witnessing his shifting moral compass.
The book opens with Ryker taking some extended time out from his on/off life of espionage and violence. Whilst visiting London to carry out some personal business he soon becomes embroiled in a mission: the widow of his former mentor Mackie requests that he prevents her son Scott Campbell from getting in over his head with the very worst of organised crime.
For Scott, after losing his respectable London based accountancy job, relocating to New York with his girlfriend Kate seems like a dream come true, offering him the chance to make it big. Henry Green, Kate’s father, is one of the big fish Scott is out to impress – he knows this man’s business interests are not wholly above board but has seen enough to know that this goes with the territory. When Henry seeks his advice Scott finds himself drawn into Henry’s inner circle, swallowing any misgivings he has. When Ryker appears Scott is already in over his head, tormented by a toxic combination of fear, awe, respect and revulsion for Green.
The scene is set for an exhilarating read involving mob bosses, secret services and violence and twists aplenty as a number of other players join the party. I hugely enjoyed the evolving dynamics between Ryker and Scott and Scott and Green. Indeed, the characterisations of the central plot players – Ryker and Scott (whom Ryker has known since he was a boy) and Green are multi layered and believable. Ryker is once again at the top of his game as he gives his all to save his mentor’s son. Some of the scenes necessary to illustrate the world in which Scott has become a part of were downright ugly to read – Green and his ilk are not ones to cross. It is a hallmark of the author that he recounts these scenes necessary to advance the plot, in in a matter of fact, albeit graphic style.
Is Ryker too late to save Scott? Does he want to be saved? What of Henry’s daughter Kate? What impact will the actions of others who have taken an interest on Green’s activities have? I was glued to he read until the end of its electrifying dénouement.
Highly recommended.
Please note that an ARC of this book was given to me by the author for the purpose of a fair and honest review.

Drugs are the root of greed, leading to violence.

Janet Campbell, terminally ill, summons James Ryker to her hospital bedside. They share their pain once again at the tragic death of her husband, Charles McCabe (Mackie), Ryker’s former boss. She knows that his loyalty to Mackie will be enough to force him into finding her son, Scott, who has up and left London with his girlfriend, Kate Green, and moved to New York.

Kate Green isn’t just any girl. She’s the daughter of a notorious gangster, and it soon becomes apparent that Henry Green is going to inveigle Scott into the “family” business. Scott is appointed as his accountant. He soon discovers the violent side of Henry Green that his wife and daughter have never seen. This shatters his world, but not sufficiently to tell Kate about her ruthless father, nor to turn tail and run for home.

James Ryker travels to the USA under the name of John Burrows, and as he starts sussing out the underground dealings of Green’s organisation and that of his rival, Shaun Doherty, his presence flags up FBI agent Jane Chan. She is investigating Green and his cronies.

The big question is whether Ryker will succeed in extricating Scott Campbell from the mess he’s got himself into.

We see a different side of James Ryker in this storyline. He has matured. His time spent healing after the shattering events of the past, losing the two most important people in his life, Mackie, his boss at JIA (Joint Intelligence Agency) and Angela Grainger (aka Lisa Ryker) are still raw, but somehow, these two events have brought him a new understanding about life. His genuine concern for Scott Campbell and Kate Green is evident as he takes on the fight this naïve and clueless young couple have become involved in.

I read this latest book and decided that I couldn’t write the review until I’d gone back to the very first review I wrote for ‘Dance with the Enemy’, published in 2014. It was one of my first professional reviews and Rob Sinclair’s first book. I’ve been in the very fortunate position to have read all his books and watched as he’s matured as an author. There are not many authors who succeed in maintaining a high standard with every book they publish, but Rob Sinclair has. In fact, each book has seen his writing soar to new heights. I’m just one of the fortunate ones who has been following his career right from the very beginning. Thank you, Rob. I can’t tell you the joy I get from watching you go from strength to strength.

The Green Viper is the fourth book in the James Ryker series, which means that it is (I think) the ninth book from Rob Sinclair since 2014. That's pretty impressive figures, particularly when you notice just how positive all his reviews tend to be.

The James Ryker series is a follow-on from Sinclair's Enemy series. Former Joint Intelligence Agency (JIA) operative, Carl Logan, is back but he's now living a civilian life under a new identity - James Ryker. Despite no longer being an agent/operative, he finds himself quickly drawn back into his old life, just without the backing of his former agency.

Ryker is a great character. He's a trained assassin, tough and intelligent, yet he displays loyalty and a depth of emotion that humanises him. He is a likable character, despite the trail of bodies and destruction that seem to follow him - a flawed hero.

In The Green Viper, Ryker finds himself in slightly new territory. In contrast to the usual globe-trotting espionage missions, Ryker is called upon to assist an old friend and finds himself drawn into the murky New York underworld - a world of drugs, guns, violence and turf wars. Ryker soon finds himself caught between a keen FBI agent and a couple of dangerous gangsters.

As the story storms ahead, Ryker scrambles his way from one impossible situation to the next. He's caught by loyalty to his dead former boss. Will he be able to successfully complete his mission, whilst simultaneously bringing down the warring underworld king-pins?

The Green Viper quickly draws readers into the action as it delves into New York's dark and seedy underbelly. It is a fast, intense and thrilling adventure that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The author certainly knows how to build suspense! All-in-all, another gripping novel from author, Rob Sinclair.

The Green Viper can be read as a standalone book, however I personally would recommend reading the series in order so that you get more of an understanding of Ryker's background.

I’ve been a fan of the author the last couple of years or so. I came to his books a bit late but quickly devoured them. Each tale was gripping from start to finish and I had high hopes of the next book in the series.

The next book in the Jame Ryker series once again demonstrates the author’s ability to write a heart thumbing thriller. By now you’d think the author would have run out of steam perhaps..where else can he go with the character? Well let me tell you he’s wrote a cracker again!

As with the previous tales in the Ryker series things are personal. The events he gets sucked into are out of his control largely but let’s be honest..He’s a magnet for danger!

A message with links to Ryker’s past sets the wheels in motion on a tense thriller full of suspense. It’s the buildup of the plot that really hooks you in..never quite knowing what will happen next.

Now, not to give the plot of the story away too much Ryker is enlisted to help get someone out of danger..but this individual just can’t see the danger he’s in..or he’s just ignorant to it.

Ryker has his work cut out for him thats for sure and there’s multiple players in the dangerous game; Ryker needs to find out what their interest Is so he can anticipate their next move (easier said than done).

Will he make it out alive? Come on you already know the answer don’t you.. lets just say though Ryker will be haunted by this mission..he struggles to let go of the past and this will certainly eat away at him I’m sure..he needs an outlet for his frustrations and his ex boss may just be able to help.. lets see what the future holds..

A super tense thriller, the plot is great and I loved how it developed. The multiple angles the story was approached from kept me engaged and thoroughly excited to the very last page!

Another 5* for Rob Sinclair from me.

Whilst on a visit to London James Ryker, ex-intelligence agent, calls into his bank to collect some things from his safety deposit box. Among several forgotten items, he finds an old phone on which is an unopened text message.

No words just two letters and a number - HP2. Nothing else just a message from a man whom he knew was long dead. The text message directs him to a drop point used only by Ryker and his dead boss and here he finds the request from his late- boss's wife - "I need your help. Call me"

Ryker is asked to intercede in her son's life. Scott Campbell has recently moved to New York with his girlfriend whose father is a big-time crime boss. The father takes Scott under his wing drawing him further and further into his world of drugs, money laundering, murder and mayhem. So, this is the task set for Ryker - get Scott out of the hands of this vicious, nefarious, immoral character.

Ryker heads off to New York on his own, with no backing and soon comes to the attention of the NYPD and the FBI.

We follow him as he tries to convince Scott to tell the FBI all he knows of his boss's activities. Into the mix comes a rival crime boss and soon Scott is caught between them.

This is No 4 in the series featuring James Ryker but I found it easily read as a stand-alone thriller.

I really recommend this book. It's fast-paced, utterly absorbing and while I know nothing of the criminal underworld, I found it totally believable.

Just when you thought a life of retirement had snared Ryker a call for help brings him back to life on our reading radar. A call that takes him to the US to save the son of an old friend, torn between the life he's trying to settle into and the sense of loyalty he feels Ryker wouldn't be the man we know if he let the call go unanswered. A mission that sees Ryker dropped into the midst of a turf war between rival gangs vying for dominance in New York. Without an official sanction he has to go it alone and its not long before he's on the radar of both the police and the FBI. Within the ensuing chaos he must complete his mission without falling foul of the law. As the body count starts to rise and the stakes increase Ryker must utilize all his skills to bring about a satisfactory conclusion.
The book serves not only as part of the Ryker series but can be read as a standalone. The author breathes life into a great yet tormented personality, a believable character whose presence is such that he draws you into his world within the pages of the book. A book whose pace is relentless and that helps make it such a great read. The author goes from strength to strength with his Ryker series and we can only hope for more of the same.

Another brilliant story in this exceptional series. Rob Sinclair never disappoints; his books are always entertaining and well worth a read. The last thing you want is James Ryker coming after you, as he’s relentless and has the skill to outsmart pretty much anyone. I couldn’t help but even like the bad guys in this book, they are so well put together. I really enjoyed reading this one.
Since leaving JIA James Ryker was doing anything he felt like, so when Janet Campbell contacted him to help her out, he had all the time in the world to help. Janet was the widow of his old boss Charles McCabe at the Joint Intelligence Agency, and she needed Ryker’s help with her son Scott Campbell. She was sure that Scott was going to get himself in trouble in America, where he had moved so his girlfriend Kate Green could be near her family. The issue was that Kate’s dad Henry Green was not known for going about his business legally, and he had a reputation for being a very dangerous man. Not that this bothered Ryker, as he had come across some pretty bad people around the world. His main issue would be getting Scott to listen to him. This is a fabulous story from start to finish. 5/5 Star Rating.

This book follows on from Carl Logan’s decision to become James Ryker. He’s living his life under the radar until he receives a coded message that will change everything for him. I would hate to include any spoilers so I will keep my review in line with the synopsis and avoid revealing any plot twists that could ruin the enjoyment for others.
It soon became evident that Ryker was still feeling the fallout from Mackie's death and felt a strong connection to him despite his passing. So much so that he placed himself in clear danger by taking on an unsanctioned mission that would embroil him in an underworld feud.
This is a story that is both clever and brutal in equal measure, and no holds seem to have been barred. The descriptions are painfully graphic, but nothing seemed gratuitous compared to other such novels.
Ryker is now operating independently of the kind of support that he was used to, and it soon became clear that his instincts remained heightened, despite having distanced himself from his former identity. As the synopsis explains, he finds himself mixed up in the warring relationship between two underworld bosses. I don’t feel it’s a spoiler to say that those bosses are despicable characters with proclivities to awful punishments.
The addition of a sympathetic FBI agent lends an additional dimension to the unfolding events. This book felt right, and despite the name change, Ryker felt like Logan. When you decide to read this book, be prepared for some difficult scenes and some nauseating descriptions. I loved it!

The Green Viper is the 4th book in the James Ryker series. I have been a huge fan of this series since the beginning. While there is one continuous storyline present throughout the series, I am confident in saying this book would also make a great standalone.

In The Green Viper, I feel like Sinclair really brought Ryker back to his roots. It was refreshing to see Ryker in his natural element and stripped of all his personal troubles. The overall theme was simple; Ryker was fighting the "bad guys", as Peter Winter would say. But bringing us back to the basics doesn't mean the story lacked any action. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Right from the start the reader is thrown into suspense that carried all the way through to the end. The story was complete with twist and turns and questions of loyalty.

The Green Viper is packed with a fast-paced storyline along with non-stop action with a bit of mystery.

Brits abroad have a bad rep and two gang lords from this side of the pond are causing allsorts of trouble in NYC. Admittedly one is Irish but to the yanks we’re all the same! The FBI have tabs on this pair but is it going to take a Brit to pull them down?! Certainly look oks like James Ryker is needed to save the day!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Enemy series, the trilogy that introduced Carl Logan aka James Ryker to the world. I transitioned to Ryker’s world for another trio but missed out the set that included The Green Viper. Sinclair’s writing is as hard hitting as when I met my fictional crush. Yes I have a thing for Logan/Ryker, but why wouldn’t I? He’s a hard man, good with his hands, not to be messed with and in my head, looks just like Jason Statham!!

I desperately need to fill the gaps in my Ryker reading. There is much action and thrills I’ve missed !! If you like action packed, fast paced thrillers, you can’t go wrong with this series.

The Green Viper is book 4 in the James Ryker series, but the first one I've read, although I've read one of Rob Sinclair's standalone novels, Rogue Hero.

It is fast-paced as our 'hero' sets about helping the son of his former boss where he's entangled himself in a bit of bother in New York. That said, the beginning is a little more difficult to really get into - I would recommend persevering because after that, the storyline is very quick and I read the vast majority of the book in one sitting. It's a fun, pacy read with a whole load of violent encounters thrown in for good measure and some rather nasty bad guys, and our author has no problem with ramping up the body count.

If you're a fan of action thrillers, then you'll really enjoy The Green Viper. I certainly plan on finding some room on my TBR pile to add the other books in the series.

I am a huge fan of this author’s books so I was delighted to see that he had a new release out – and having read the book I can say now it is an excellent thriller that I haven’t hesitated to give 5 stars!!

I loved the characters and the book is very well written as I have come to expect. The plot is excellent, there is plenty of detail and it had me gripped from pretty much the first page to that last – and it has a brilliant ending!

Another superb release from this author – very highly recommended and I am really looking forward to seeing what he releases next!!

Jason Bourne has nothing on James Ryker! Ryker is an immovable force who unleashes mayhem on the forces of evil!

This the fourth book in the James Ryker Series and it's just as brilliant as the preceeding novels! Green Viper seemingly starts slow, but only to lay the groundwork for the maelstrom to come! Then the pace accelerates and then hang on to the thrill ride Rob Sinclair gifts to the reader! Pulsepounding, gritty and not for the feint of heart! Ryker is ruthless in pursuit of organized crime bosses and destroys their nepharious organizations......almost singlehandedly!
This masterpiece of storytelling will leave you stunned and breathless! It's beyond exciting! If you enjoy complex thrillers with heroic protagonists, then you'll love Green Viper!

Ryker’s back and better than ever!!! This time working independently of the JIA (though with them always in the background) for McCabe’s ailing widow. Ryker has set his sights on saving Mackies son ‘Campbell’ who has got himself into a spot of bother.

Dating the the head of a crime families daughter and with that family in the sights of another syndicate, Ryker has his work cut out for him saving Campbell while taking everyone down.

Cracking book and some of the scenes read out like you were watching a fast paced film.

I can’t get enough of Sinclair, love his prose and descriptive style. Always fresh, fast and packed full of adrenaline.

Surprising and Thrilling

Ryker's retirement is short-lived as his former boss's widow asks for his help. He travels to New York where he quickly gets involved in the middle of an FBI investigation and a gang war. The violence and intrigue continue on every page, with surprises around every corner. None of the characters are developed in depth, but it isn't necessary in this kind of book. The writing is simple and straightforward, making the book easy to read. I read it straight through and enjoyed every word.

The Green Viper. Rob Sinclair

James Ryker is a truly hard man. Former government assassin. Now out of the game. He's doing a favor for his deceased boss's wife. A Man who treated him like a son. The mission? To bring his son home, or rescue him from the horrible state of affairs he allowed himself to get involved in. The son is truly out of his depth. This is an amazing read! Fast paced. A magnificent novel! Enjoyed immensely!

61-2019. Our super capable hero fellow takes a mission for a friend, and mayhem ensues. He gets some vengeance, takes out some bad guys, and gets innumerable concussion, to no apparent lasting effect. This one had a reasonably coherent plot, some really bad bad guys, and some good side characters. Gets dropped one star due to over the top violence that is survived by our man. I’ll read the next book, whenever it arrives.

Slightly different premise in The Green Viper, but just as exciting and thrilling. A brilliant character in Ryker. Action and adventure throughout as Ryker has had a request from the wife of Mackie, his old boss. She wants him to find her son, who is living in US. Heart pounding and nail biting thriller as usual!

The Best Ryker Yet

I’ve enjoyed all of the Ryker books but this one is the best of them all. The plot is really good and the characters are very believable. I think if shows that Ryker has developed in Rob Sinclair’s mind and it show in the dialogue. Definitely recommend this to everyone who likes this genre.

Best Ryker

This is my favorite Tyler book so far as James Tyler finds himself entangled with the mob in Net York city. He is sent there to save his old bosses son who is mixed up in the mob. Its a race against time can he save him and his fiance too before the mob finds out that bosses son has turned informant.

Good

I enjoyed all four books, gripping stories and definitely fast paced. I did get a bit fed up with the whole lone ranger type action, it's been done to death but still a decent read
