Raven: The last thing I want is to get tangled in my sister’s way of life. We share blood but we couldn't be more different. I'm into books, art, and music while she's a stripper and motorcycle club whore. I've vowed to stay as far away from that life as I can, but Gage, the club's sexy President has set his sights on me. From our very first meeting he made his intention clear — he wants me in his bed. Well, he put it a little more crudely. He’s a foul-mouthed, arrogant, domineering, infuriating biker who just wants to use my body, but I can’t help my attraction to him. Even if I wanted to give in to him, I can’t. He's off limits. No matter how much I want him, I can never have him. He's forbidden.
Gage: I'm the President of the Death Dealers MC. My road name is Reaper. Wanna guess how I got it? Yeah, no one messes with me. I live for my club, my family, and getting chicks. I don’t do relationships. Women throw themselves at me, and if they're lucky, I'll give them a couple orgasms and a life-long memory. It’s easy. That is, until I met Raven. I wanted her the moment I saw her but I can’t have her — at least not yet. She’s different from the women I’m used to and I’m caught between wanting her and not wanting to corrupt her. I should stay away from her but how can I? They say forbidden fruit is the sweetest and I’m dying for a taste.

This was a quick read. Basically, the hero Gage falls for Raven at sight.. Raven also somewhat falls for him at sight. Gage is 32 and Raven is 17 - the age thing did not bug me at all. So Gage tries to stay away from Raven mainly because he wants to wait until she's 18 but finds it impossible because he's so attracted to her. Raven avoids Gage because she doesn't want to turn out like her sister who is a club whore.
I liked Raven then I didn't. The banter between Gage and Raven was nice though.
In the meantime Raven gets a boyfriend Chris, so Gage and Raven run into each other and can't keep their hands off each other... Raven more then anything was back and forth between wanting Gage and not wanting him. She has phone sex with him, makes out with him while she's still in a relationship with Chris!! She admits what she feels for Gage is more then her feelings for Chris but she does not break up with him. I HATE cheating and I do consider this cheating. Gage is with club whores while he has feelings for Raven but he is not in a committed relationship so that didn't bug me as much as Raven being in a relationship and messing around with Gage.
Then at the end Chris basically sees Gage and Raven making out and dumps her.. so its not like she made the decision to be with Gage.. it was more handed to her.
Also, there is no sex between the hero and heroine.
Anyways, this book ends on a cliffhanger.. but I'm not eagerly waiting for the next book since Ravens back and forth shit about Gage annoyed me and I felt she did cheat on Chris. I might read it I'm not sure yet.
I don't know how to rate this one even though it was entertaining as hell it was unrealistic as shit though. Let's start of with our heroine Raven, who is 17 staying with her sister due to their father's passing. Her sister is the MC's club whore, and a full time stripper, everything our 17 year old heroine does not want to be..however she did catch the presidents eye..
The MC president Gage also known as Reaper is an alltime asshole, the catch them and release them, he has you suck him off with a condom on, and you won't even question him because he has you believing it is the way to do it.. He has his eye set on Raven, one thing that is setting him back is her age, so he will bid his time (3 months) until she turns 18 then he will screw hew all ways to sunday, and be done with her like the rest, because he doesn't do relationships.. or so he thinks..
Now, Raven doesn't want anything to do with him, he wants everything that evolving his penis to do with her.. Like a battle of wills.. However Raven gets her self a boyfriend, and the prez doesn't like that too much, doesn't matter that he is doing god knows what with god knows who...
My thing was, he is this beautiful creature that is cocky as hell, can have anyone he wants, the consent age in Georgia is 16, but he still wants to wait for her to turn 18? You're 32 she is 17.. still a 15 year difference what the hell i 3 months going to make? You kill people left and right, and now all of a sudden you grew some morals? Really?
Old school ALPHA MALE OH-SO-NAUGHTY 100% proper Biker romance.
It's DIRTY, its RAW and it's GRITTY and oh so $EXY.
------------------------------ Positives:
1. No TSTL heroine!! Most of these biker stories feature either a: (1) Used-Up-Down-Trodden type, or (2) Trailer-Trash Hillbilly, or (3) Foul-Mouthed Screaming Banshee, or (4) Submissive Bimbo, or (5) a combination of the aforementioned mentioned.
2. Heroine's smart, sassy and doesn't take $hit, hence lots of banter! But also because she's young and way over her head there's a bit of swoon-worthy ON-YOUR-KNEES dominance play going on.
3. Hero's the Old School ALPHA male BAD BOY who doesn't care about societal norms, being politically correct or polite. He's sweet and caring towards the heroine, but he's also a dirty-mouthed, hot talking aggressive biker who likes to take charge. SWOON.
4. AGE-PLAY: the age gap between them (she's 17, he's 32) is HOT. It's also semi-forbidden adding a touch of taboo.
5. The STEAM & CHEMISTRY is off the charts (mostly due to the dirty talk and taboo element).
6. Heroine has CURVES
------------------------------
Negatives:
1. It ended on a cliff hanger. Not of a fan of that.
2. Chrissy and Christopher aren't great characters. The author needs to axe them, particularly Christopher.
3. The BACK AND FORTH between Raven & Chris was annoying & unnecessary
------------------------------
If you're looking for a REAL OUTLAW BIKER romance, with anALPHA Male possessive, aggressive & domineering hero, and CURVY young sassy heroine - then look no further.
Unlike some of the strange so-called "biker" books that have appeared featuring anything from Billionaire Biker (I mean seriously - next he'll be at the Country Club), to Vampire Biker (save it for Twilight puh-leez) etc, this is more of the genuine thing.
None off that sweet not-quite-criminal, Liberal-Progressive-Nice-Guy type biker either. It's gritty, raw with all the nasty elements of the underground scene - and totally a guilty pleasure read.
Fantastic work Alana!! Although I COULD kill you for the cliffhanger....
Raven hasn't had the best experience of biker men by watching her sister be a whore for practically the whole Death Dealer's MC, so the last thing she wants is to hook up with a biker. But Gage is different. As president of the MC he has the reputation that would be expected, but there's something different about Raven, her sass and innocence, that makes him want to treat her differently. As much as he physically wants her, he also understands that she's not 18 yet and also a virgin. He feels a strong protectiveness towards her and a need to do the right thing for once with a girl.
Raven is nothing but confused about Gage. She thinks he's sexy and they get along great, but he's made it clear he doesn't do relationships and she isn't sure she wants to just wait around for her birthday to have sex and that be it. Her neighbor, Chris, is in love with her and since she can't have Gage she starts seeing him. You can imagine how this goes over with Gage.
Raven knows deep inside that it's Gage she wants but she cares deeply for Chris and doesn't want to hurt him. It's inevitable that he'll be hurt but she has to follow her heart if she wants to be happy, right? But what about the secrets about the club that Gage keeps from her? What about her sister's hatred of her and her friendship with anyone from the club? If she found out anything was going on between Gage and Raven she would flip.
The book ends with Raven and Gage being in danger due to club business (I'm assuming) and Raven is still a virgin. I understand he's trying to be a good guy, but come on already!! The sexual tension was suffocating!! I can't wait for things to move forward with them in the next book!
If you're looking for a fairy tale, boy meets girl, insta-love, I only have eyes for you, break up due to a misunderstanding, work it out and get back together, live happily ever after, story - it's not this book. Yes, it's fiction but let's be real, that stuff only happens in books. That's not the type of story I want to tell. Two things I go for - realism and simplicity. You shouldn't have to reach for a dictionary while reading my books or re-read a paragraph multiple times to understand it. Gage and Raven aren't your typical couple. He's older and set in his ways, she's younger and has a lot of growing up to do. They both make mistakes and will do things you may not like but I go where the story takes me. Just know that EVERYTHING happens for a reason and I hope you stay on this journey with me :)
I was hoping this would join my small collection of MC books that I really like, but only 17% in and it's got some much of what I really dislike in MC books - club whores where the men have horrible nicknames for them, misogyny and so much more that had me grimacing.
The so called hero - Gage
It's also clear there's going to be some drama, since Raven's
So I'm trying to catch up on my TBR pile and this is one of those books. However, now that I have finished it I've had to 1-click the next book in the series because this had a doozy of a cliff hanger which then means I have just added to my TBR. Such is the life of a book junkie!
Anyhoo, this was the first in a four book series, which I knew from the start but I assumed each one would be about a different couple. The first three books and a novella are about Gage and Raven though so that is just a heads up from me. I haven't read an MC book for a while so it was good to step back into this sort of story.
Raven is under the guardianship of her older sister Lonnie. Lonnie is basically a club whore at the Death Dealers MC, but she has her sights set on becoming Gage's Old Lady. She is a bitch to live with and treats Raven like shite to put it mildly. Raven is nothing like her sister and is only months away from turning 18 and will be able to move out, making a life for herself.
When Gage meets Raven for the first time he is instantly attracted to her and will do anything to get her in his bed. However, once he realises she is still underage he backs off, well a little bit biding his time until he can have her.
Raven is not entirely on board with Gage's plans, firstly she has a really nice boyfriend who can offer her stability, and she really needs that. The fact that her sister wants Gage is another huge factor in her reluctance to even be friends with him.
Gage is determined to wear her down but being associated with Gage in any way can attract danger and that is not what Raven wants in her life right now, she has enough going on. The draw she has to Gage is completely messing with her mind and most of all her body. She has Gage in knots, he has never been a one woman guy but the fact that he is even considering it says a lot about what they are both feeling.
And then there is this big cliffy...... and I have no idea what the feck is about to happen...
I loved, loved, loved this book! The build-up between Raven and Gage is just too much. I can't even wait till the next book to see how this all plays out. Alana Sapphire is definitely on my list of "read all her books" I loved how she showed a true relationship and didn't give us a fantasy that's only plausible in books. Tempted can't come out soon enough for me!
Umm where is the rest?? I want the next book.. Holy crap this book... From the beginning i was pulled in. Raven is a spitfire who wont take no shit from Gage. Gage has never been turned down by a female so when Raven basically puts him in his place he doesn't know what to do.
Raven could care less if Gage is the president of the MC. She stands up for herself when it comes to him until he gets to close. As soon as Gage touches her shes putty in his hands. The chemistry between them is off the wall. the banter back and forth had me internally yelling "GO Raven" But there were times where I was like Raven make up your damn mind!!! Shes the type who can make u smile one second and then want to strangle her the next and ask wtf.
The ending.. Oh man when it comes to the ending of this book... You will be left wanting so much more. I do wish we got more back story on Raven and her sister since Raven is younger but acts and portrays herself as a very mature person. Maybe that will come in book 2 along with more of Gage's past. But that doesn't deter me from giving this book 5 AMAZING stars...
The banter was good( a bit cheesy at times, but it's all right) It was solid. Got some sexy alpha male going on too, and it was nice.
What I find it hard to cope with was the whole "I like you but I have a boyfriend thing, and yet they still fool around, but they can't really fool around since she is only 17, and he is 32 and got morals, but he is also the Prez and he loves to fuck, ( and kill people)
There was of course the big age difference which I totally didn't mind ( I actually quite love those) but it didn't work for me because both of them were acting a bit like teenagers. I guess I just couldn't get my head around it this time.
Will I recommend: It wasn't bad, but it was however a bit tiresome to read. I don't really know what I feel about it to be honest.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
and it leaves me with "I look around frantically for the other rider and almost swallow my tongue as I stare through my window and down the barrel of a gun"
I have so many books as it is so I wasn’t sure I wanted to invest any time in reading Forbidden even if it was free. But then I read the blurb and decided to check out the inside of the book and realized I really gotten in when I reached the end of the sample so I really had no choice but to download the book.
I really liked Raven, she was a strong young lady, who kept getting stronger with everything her sister through at her. There is Gage the bad boy with a limited moral compass, that was surprising, given what you read and hear in the news. Makes you wonder how much wishful thinking and research went into Alana Sapphire’s characters. I can’t and won’t complain either way because I really liked Raven, Gage and Dr. E. I am relieved that Gage wasn’t so much older then Raven that one would think she had father-figure issues, that would have ruined the story.
The steam factor in Forbidden is there but not because of the actual act of sex. In fact, the participant in question aren’t even in the same building and yet they managed to create some seriously major steam.
I really enjoyed Forbidden because it was a well written and well thought out story that I was able to read through with out any speed bumps like edits. I really enjoyed the back and forth between Raven and Gage. All that being said, I was reluctant to write this review when I got to the end of the book and saw a message say please leave a “spoiler-free” review. I honestly thought that was the worst part of the whole book.
Gage Hunter has always been able to get anything and anyone being the President of The Death Dealers MC. But when he meets Raven Alvarez, he’s not expecting his charm to not work on her—after all, he is the Prez! One thing's for sure, he's going to have to work harder to get her to give him the time and day.
Raven Alvarez is just ready to get the heck out of town and away from her evil, slutty sister, Lonnie! What she didn't expect was to catch the attention of the head honcho, Gage but she makes it clear to him she wants nothing to do with him or anyone else in his club.
Gage knows he can get women whenever he wants, but with Raven he's not going to let her go that easy...and so the chase begins.
Even though there was a lot of sexual tension between Gage and Raven, there was also a lot of feeling behind it. Gage got to know as much of Raven as she allowed him to know. And Gage kind-of opened up to Raven, which changed the way she looked at him—and that equaled brownie points in my book, if you ask me. There is plenty of action and SEXUAL TENSION that was killing me. There is a cliffy and one that broke my heart… And so, on to book two, Tempted... ~ Kara, 4 stars
So not wanting to follower her slutty sister's foot steps as a biker whore, Raven goes to the MC picnic with her sister. If you don't want to be like her, you don't put yourself in this situation. There she meets the prez of the MC, Reaper/Gage. He wants her, but she's having none of it. Good for her!
Raven and her sister Lonnie have a troubled relationship and Raven can't wait to turn 18 and move out. Yes 18. Gage is bidding his time to get in her pants, he's 32. If I didn't focus on the age difference and her being underaged, it was a good story. But the fact that she is 17 hanging @ a Motor Cycle club, making out with a 32 year old man, skeeves me out! So I just pretended she was in the middle of a divorce and Gage was being a gentleman and waiting for her.
This book is a cliff hanger. You are left wondering if Gage can hold himself back or if Raven sweet talks him into her pants.
This book just really sucked me in finally a kickass heroine!!! With A back bone that! I loved every moment of this book from beginning to end!!
Raven was sassy, sweet, caring and feisty and also smart I connected with her character and enjoyed her development from beginning to end! Her connection with Gage, was undeniable they have this spark I am intrigued to learn more about her!!
And then thier is sexy yummie hot as "sin" Gage, wow he is A badass biker and total alpha but I feel he is hiding something I cannot wait to find out more!!
This is A must read I cannot wait for more in the seris!!!
I was cruising Amazon and I saw this book and thought I give it a go. OMG i a so surprised I got really into it. Now it ends in a Cliffhanger.....ugh! Why? I need the next book like yesterday. I hate waiting.
BTW, I wonder who's Janet?
*Poor Chris. It's kinda Messed up how she treating him.
This is the first book I have read by this author. I really enjoyed it. Although it was a quick read, the storyline flowed well and the characters were likable.
I always enjoy a good biker dude book ... I have read 2 of Alana's book so far ... must say that if you are looking for a MMA fighter book ... check out "Beyond The Cage" ... if I had to pick a fave between the 2, mine was the cage book ... but this is a very close 2nd. Some how all these different authors pull it off and write similar but not totally the same (does that make sense? hope so. All these different authors, even though they are writing a similar all about a biker gang book subject they some how turn them around and some how make them or take them some where unique or a twist-able bit!) biker dude books ... the bad mean looking (but really kind and sweet) to all their other biker dudes ... I guess my fave character is Raven ... Latina beauty through and through. Must read if you are a biker gang book lover! ( ;
Gotta love when a book starts off with a great line. I really like Lonnie's sister! She's great. Raven is the new girl on the block, but wants nothing to do with the MC that Lonnie is a Hellhound for. What happens when she walks away from their President, Gage? Who are Chrissy and Chris? Who is Toni? This is a setup with a very interesting and confusing set of rules and people doing different things. When Gage finds out about Raven's bruise and she tells him she walked into a door, what does he immediately think? i will say this much, it is almost like a three ring circus and you don't know where to look and what to watch out for and things happen that really leave you with a cliffhanger of a situation. Now I need to acquire the next book in the series and see what happens. Nothing like a gun pointed in
This book is well written and sucks you in from the first page. Why the 2-star rating then? Just 2 reasons really. Firstly, the heroine is 17 years old, a minor, and the hero is 32. I don't mind the age difference usually but I do when one party is underage. One of the regrettable consequences of the heroine being 17 is that she brings with her all the drama of a teenager...first she's committed to the hero, then to someone else, then to the hero, then back to someone else. I just wanted to slap her after awhile! And secondly, this is a cliffhanger. I wouldn't mind that except that the series is made up of books that are under 200 pages. By the time you purchase just the books that make up the H & h's story, you've spent too much for what could have been one decent sized book. I hate that racket that some authors use! For that reason alone, I'm not finishing the series.
I think this is one of the best MC books i have read so far. I am not really a fan of these kind of books but once in a while i give one a try. And this one is the best so far , i think. It had me on my edge of my seat from the start. It has everything i love in books. It's funny , sexy , no sad part but that's okay. Not every story has to have a sad part. And this was just one book , there are more so .. I have work to do .. ! I started reading it and did not want to put it down until it was finished , and that's when a book is really good. So 5stars from me .. And on to the next one ...
Warning - must have 2nd and 3rd ready! This ends on a cliffhanger. I do feel like i was got. I got the 1st book free. I went in not really knowing to much about the author story but I turned right around had have book 2 and 3
This is the first book in the Death Dealers MC series by Alana Sapphire. I’ve had this book in my library for a long time and always wanted to start the series but kept putting it off. It was boring as shit but I was determined to finish it even though pretty much nothing happens in the first book. Gage was hot but Raven annoyed the shit out of me. Age difference usually doesn’t bother me at all but in this one it did because she was so immature and stupid.
I enjoyed this book and looking forward to continuing the story of the main characters, Gage and Raven. It has some really sad moments and somewhat scary moments and more.
