Room for Love

Rate this book
The attraction between them is immediate and undeniable... When sexy Texas rancher Beth Harman hires strong, tan, and ruggedly handsome Jo Merrick to build a room onto her remote cabin they both know there's trouble ahead. Three years after the death of her beloved partner, Jo tries to resist Beth in order to honor her commitment to the past. As Beth and her daughter Tracy begin to chip away at the walls Jo has built around her heart, she begins to believe that she could find love again. But Beth's past, too, threatens this new passion: when Jo learns Beth's terrible secret -- and discovers that Beth has a lover -- she tries to protect her heart and walk away. Were it not for the series of dramatic events that follow, and Beth's commitment to their fledgling relationship, Jo might never again make room for love.

All About Frankie... I was born in a town so small, that rather than listing the population figure on the city limit sign, we simply listed the citizen's names. From there I joined the Army and spent three great years in Germany. It's a beautiful country that everyone should visit if given the opportunity. However, I wouldn't recommend joining the Army as a method of traveling there.
After leaving the Army, I moved to San Antonio, Texas. I was now living in a city so large that the population figure would barely fit on the city limit sign. I soon went to work for a giant telecommunication company and served a long sentence there. Now through a strange twist of events I find myself writing full-time.
Someone once told me that I should list my hobbies in order for my readers to get to know me better. Well, I'm one of those people who never met a hobby she didn't like. It's much easier for me simply to tell you that short of jumping out of a perfectly good plane, there's not much I dislike.
I live with an extraordinary woman, Martha Cabrera, extraordinary in the sense that she doesn't mind my wild never-ending string of hobbies. We love to spend free weekends at the coast, fishing. I harbor a dream of someday catching a fish that's actually bigger than my bait.
I began writing when I was a kid. In my stories, the girls kept dumping the boys and running away with each other. This was a curiosity for me, since at that time; I had no idea what a lesbian was. Thankfully, the Army corrected that lapse in my education. You can imagine my surprise when I learned that not only was it all right to write these stories, but a place called Naiad Press would actually pay for them.
Naiad Press published my first three novels: Rhythm Tide, Whispers in the Wind and Captive Heart. I moved over to Bella Books 2001. (from the author's website)

Frankie J. Jones has also written a number of books as Megan Carter.

Wow

This the first book I have read of Frankie Jones. I really like the characters...they seemed real. And the storyline was believable. I was hooked from page one. Definitely would recommend this book.

First novel I've read by Frankie J. Jones, I needed something light and quick for the commute today.

In that regard, the book delivered, unfortunately it didn't do much more.

It's very short, so understandably, the beginning seemed very rushed. They go from zero to love in 5 seconds, or almost. The attraction between the two didn't translate to the pages very well, I had to rely on what the author told me. The two characters, Jo and Beth are likeable and I was rooting for them. Jo is mourning her partner, Beth is in an unhappy 'relationship', and mother to Tracy, an adorable little girl. They have personal demons and natural forces to battle on the way to finding happiness.

This book included a few things that generally I don't like, but that's just personal taste, except for the extra typos thrown in, those are annoying anywhere and were really odd and obvious in this one. The writing seemed awkward at times and the story a bit disjointed. The latter may have to do with the length, or the lack thereof, of the book. I think it would have been better a bit more fleshed out, the characters sure had it in them.

So, it was an ok distraction, it doesn't really make me run out and check out another of her books.

This my first book of Frankie’s but not her first book I’ve read. She writes under the name Megan Carter and I’ve read all of those books! This story did not disappoint! I cannot wait to read more! 10/10 recommend!

Sweet

Room for Love was super sweet. I loved the chemistry between Jo & Beth. I would definitely read more from this author if they are available on Kindle Unlimited

My first lesbian romance, who can ever forget there first? Okay so I was reading it instead of living it, but it was titalating, stimulating, exhiletating, and well, I read it in two days! which is a world's record for me! I read it a total of four or five tiemes and even read it onto tape for a blind friend of mine (who LOVED the sex scenes) have you ever tried to read a sex scene out loud? it's harder than it sounds) These two women have quite a romance brewing.

Very good story!

I really liked the book. Jo's struggle with survival guilt was spot on. Tracy was a sweet little girl that stole Jo's heart. Beth and Jo's relationship development was special. Well done!
