THE AMISH CHRISTMAS CANDLE is a collection of three novelettes with candles, Christmas, hope, healing, love and happiness as the common threads.
SNOW SHINE ON ICE MOUNTAIN by Kelly Long tells of Naomi's elderly father hiring Gray Fisher to help her at their candle shop for the Christmas Season. Naomi wonders if her father has an ulterior motive. This story starts out a little 'racy' for an Amish book, but by chapter two we meet Naomi and the storyline takes a different direction.
A HONEYBEE CHRISTMAS by Jennifer Beckstrand is the longest story in this collection and is also my favourite. Aunt Bitsy sacrificed English life to raise her three nieces Amish. Can devote Amish widowed Yost Weaver's love convince her to give it up again? There are several good chuckles in this one.
THE CHRISTMAS CANDLE by Lisa Jones Baker is a sweet story about Lydia and John, a handsome Mennonite. Both of them have a desire to help others, especially the needy, and they each have a problem to solve. Candles and cinnamon rolls play a role in this novelette and the author has kindly included her recipe for delicious cinnamon rolls.
Light some scented candles, curl up with a hot drink in front of the glowing fireplace and read THE AMISH CHRISTMAS CANDLE collection. These stories of faith, hope, healing, love and happiness should help put you in the Christmas mood. 3 stars

Three stories that have a candle involved in the telling, and end up with a bit of romance and a life lesson too.
The first surprised me because I don’t think of the Amish and bullying, but that is what happens to the main character, both as a youth and as an adult. You are in for quite a surprise as to how things turn out here.
The second story will be a reminder if you have read Jennifer’s previous books about Betsy Kiem’s nieces, and if you remember, she kept telling them not to feed the young men, or they won’t be able to get rid of them. Well the girls are back and we are updated on their lives, but there is more, and heartwarming, along with a few chuckles, life happenings for Betsy.
The third and final novella shows the pressure of falling in love with someone outside of your plain faith; yes we have Mennonite and Amish. Each of our characters seems to have deep problems, but will the love of others bring these two together.
I received this book through Net Galley and the publisher Kensington, and was not required to give a positive review.

Not bad with some surprisingly good romantic scenes.

Have no fear, Amish people have dirty minds like the rest of us. Ha - just kidding. Wait, maybe? All I know is that The Amish Christmas Candle started off right. Heavy kissing and such. At this point, I didn't even care what the stories were going to be about - I was going to sit, listen, and enjoy.

Now throughout the book, you get to fly through some different short stories. Some were interesting because one would never thing bullying and amish people would go together. Doesn't mean it never happens but you just wouldn't automatically go down that dark hole. At least I wouldn't.

Of course every story revolves around a candle but they also get a HEA as well. I wouldn't think it's because of a single candle but you never know. Each story was really cute. If I had to pick, then the last story might've been my favorite. It was definitely the shortest but it was really cute.

I was going to be generous and give this book 2 stars, but I just can't bring myself to do it.
.
This is a sexualized Amish book. Yes, you read that correctly. The very first novella had the main male character comparing the main female characters breasts to "freshly picked apples." *cue my cringe face😬😬😬😬*

And before you think I'm a prude, I am perfectly fine with married couples doing their thing and being attracted sexually to their partners and that being talked about in stories. But, I don't need to read stuff about how a couple is lusting after eachother. And that's 100 percent what this was..
.
Then the second story, in what world are there Amish women who dye their hair cherry red and purple? And wear earrings too?

It was just too outrageous.
.
Then the last story was just kind of boring.

*I try not to be harsh in my reviews, so I'm sorry if it comes off this way.*

I don't know if I will give these authors second chances or not. I haven't decided yet.

Out of the three stories in this book I liked the first one which was unusually flirty and sassy for Amish romance, loved the second one because it was absolutely hilarious plus a very believable and moving love story, and hated the bland too-perfect no conflict anywhere piece of crap that was the third one.

The Christmas Candle was a book like none that I have read of an Amish book. I started reading along and it was wonderful I was enjoying it and within the first few paragraphs it starts off rolling you with heavy kissing and then heavy other things let me just say. it that way but nothing specifically sexual. So I said well are not reading more than that it was very interesting and then all of a sudden he looks at her female anatomy and Compares them to Apples and I stop right there because they talked about how he wasn't a virgin anymore because how he was the one where all the girls go to when they want to lose their virginity and now they about Anatomy so at that point I stopped reading. I stopped because my word if they were going to go that far how much further are they going to go in this book so as a Christian I could not go any further in fact as a Christian I shouldn't have gone as far as that when I was shocked when I read that I was embarrassed when I read that the kissing made me embarrassed because of the way they described it I'm not embarrassed of a little kissing but that wasn't a little kissing but this went way too far to call it and Christian book so as for me I did not think they should call this a Christian book especially with little girls who like to read Amish Christian books they're going to be in for a major surprise. I received a copy of this book from the publisher and netgalley; all the opinions Express in this review are all my own. I was given this book from the publisher and netgalley; all the opinions expressed in this review were home I own.

Loved the second story and enjoyed the third. I had mixed feelings about the first one. It wasn’t what I look for in an Amish romance. I listened to the audio and the narrator was not very good, at least for an Amish story. Happy reading/listening!

Not impressed. So much sexual tension. I find it hard to believe that the innocent Amish girl would be picturing a guy lying in bed with only a sheet on.

Could not get past Snow Shine on Ice Mountain novella. Amish moonshine, bullying, impropriety, etc.. Didn't sound like Amish values, which I don't care if true or not in real life, but I like Amish tales because they're supposed to be different.

Disappointing. Unlike any other Amish story I've ever read... The three novellas had decent messages but were mostly unbelievable and a little ridiculous (comparing a part of the female anatomy to apples just... I couldn't roll my eyes any harder than I did when I read that). Difficult to finish.

Starts with a Bang, Ends with a Whimper

I was in the mood for something Amish and something Christmas. When I found The Amish Christmas Candle , a collection of novellas by Kelly Long, Jennifer Beckstrand, and Lisa Jones Baker, I thought perhaps I’d had my fix. Unfortunately it wasn’t all I hoped it to be. Here’s a brief synopsis of each and my take on them:

Snow Shine on Ice Mountain by Kelly Long tells the story of Naomi Gish, who is quite the talented candle maker on Ice Mountain. She’s thoughtful, kind – and feels extraordinarily plain and old. When her moonshine-running father decides to hand over the reins of his ill deeds to Grayson “Gray” Fisher, he uses the guise of Naomi needing help in her candle shop…and Naomi is none the wiser.

Gray is a player. He may be Amish, but he’s a lost soul. He knows that Naomi isn’t like the other girls – and that may just be a good thing.

My Take: As with most of the Ice Mountain books, this novella is rather overt when it comes to the physicality of a relationship. That being said, it delivers a good message about God’s grace. Additionally, the story really hold your interest ‘til the end. Definitely a well thought-out storyline.

A Honeybee Christmas by Jennifer Beckstrand takes readers to widower Yost Weaver and eccentric Bitsy Keim. They go back a long time – 35 years. Yost is set in his Amish ways, but when he forces grandson Levi to settle a misdeed with Bitsy, he comes along. After all, Bitsy has a reputation. Yost can’t stand her – until now!

Bitsy Keim returned from the Englisch world, after 20 years, to raise her three orphaned nieces. But she couldn’t leave many of her Englisch ways behind her – like her purple hair and dangly earrings. When sparks fly between Yost and Bitsy, who will bend? Yost is determined her can reform this wayward soul.

My Take: This was a fun novella, but a bit far-fetched as something credible that would happen in an Amish community. That being said, Bitsy in particular was an absolute hoot that I’d enjoy having as a quirky neighbor!

The Christmas Candle by Lisa Jones Baker introduces readers to Lydia Schultz who comes from a small family. Her only sister has recently married and she feels lost without her, especially at Christmas when they usually light a special candle for a special reason.

Mennonite John King happens upon Lydia who has just injured her ankle. He gives her a ride home and a friendship quickly develops. As providence would have it, John’s family’s bakery becomes part of Lydia’s reason for the special candle.

My Take: Unfortunately, Baker’s story leaves much to be desired. Strong editing is needed. For example: “The room seemed unusually quiet. Lydia realized that if she dropped a safety pin onto the dark oak that shone with wood polish, she would be able to hear it meet the floor.” Word choice is everything. And once the story IS edited for superfluous wording, you are left with nothing more than a very short, predictable narrative.

I was given The Amish Christmas Candle in exchange for my honest review. There are two unifying themes throughout each: a candle, and a less-than-traditional take on the Amish. It starts off with a victorious bang with Kelly Long’s Snow Shine, and ends with a whimper, with Lisa Jones Baker’s The Christmas Candle. Jennifer Beckstrand’s Honeybee Christmas is a close second after Long’s novella. But to end with Baker’s novella was not wise. When I finished the collection, I was left nonplussed. I truly would have liked to give this collection higher marks, and if I could rate each novella individually, the outcome would be much different. But to each his/her own. Read it and see what YOU think.

The Amish Christmas Candle is a great collection. Not my overall favorite. The stories are more modern living than the Amish way of living. I did enjoy how each character found happiness, hope, love, and healing.

Snow Shine on Ice Mountain by Kelly Long is a sweet yet inspiring Amish romance. Two young people who learn what love really is. Gray realizes love is peace and he's never felt peace with any other girl except for Naomi. Naomi is a bit older than gray and very plain looking. But her heart, mind, and soul, are worthy of any man's heart. Gray comes to realize that Naomi is the one. Naomi starts to feel like a wanted woman with Gray. But can she trust her heart to him? Kelly Long's short story felt believable. It wasnt like other Amish tales I've read. Most wouldn't allow the things that each character did without a chaperone or without some kind of consequence. However, it was sweet, engaging, and heartfelt. Gray not only finds peace but love and healing, too.

A Honeybee Christmas by Jennifer Beckstrand is another entertaining short story. I liked how one English woman left her way of life to raise her three nieces as Amish women. That took a lot of strength, determination, and power. Imagine leaving the life you have now, to live a plain simple one...I don't think I could do it. I may enjoy it, but I would miss a lot of things. The writer brought an untraditional tale and still gave it a heart tugging feeling. I warmed up to the main characters. Overall, it was realistic and a great adventure.

The Christmas Candle by Lisa Jones Baker is the last Amish tale inside this collection. I felt the Christmas holiday sweeping over me. The pages went by quickly. Excitement rushed through me as I read every page. Filling me with a sweetness that I couldn't let go. The main characters were enjoyable to follow. Both having faith in God. This story was more traditional in the Amish setting than the previous tales before it. I really loved this one. Giving back to the community, learning to trust, and not giving up hope are great themes found, here. Lisa Jones Baker created a piece that I fell in love with...overall, I highly recommend reading The Christmas Candle to all.

The Amish Christmas Candle is a collection of sweet Christmas novellas with an aspect of candle-making in each one. I enjoyed each novella in their own unique way.
Snow Shine on Ice Mountain by Kelly Long is an inspiring Amish romance. Gray, who feels he is a little less of a person due to an accident as a child, takes a job working in Naomi’s candle making shop as a cover to help her father run moonshine. Naomi has always admired Gray from afar because she has been teased by others for being plain and unlikable, but her loving heartis worthy of any man's love. Gray quickly comes to realize that Naomi offers a peace that no other girl has ever offered him. Naomi starts to envision a future with Gray. Long did a great job with these characters and is was heartwarming to see the healing that took place in each lead character’s heart.

A Honeybee Christmas by Jennifer Beckstrand was such a cute story. I really love her Huckleberry Hill stories and found this one to be just as entertaining. I loved how the love story was based around non-traditional matches, two people in their 50’s. Bitsy was such a feisty lady and I loved her big heart and the compassion and service that she shown her community. It was heartwarming to see how she put others first in so many situations. Yost and Bitsy make the best couple! Great job Jennifer, I loved the adventure and would like to see what the future holds for these two.

The Christmas Candle by Lisa Jones Baker is the final tale in the collection. It was a quick read and I enjoyed every minute of it. Lydia worries about what to choose for her Christmas project with her sister now married and moved away. She is facing loneliness over the loss of her sister and confidant. A chance encounter places John in her path to help her along on a cold December day. John feels comfortable enough with Lydia to confide in her about the woes of how his family will handle the extra demand for their Christmas outreach this year. A sweet story of connection and love.
It did not take me but a day to read through all three novels in this book. They were sweet stories of love, hope, and healing. I would highly recommend it to all.
I received an advance reader copy of this book from netgalley in return for my honest opinion of the book.

This Christmas novella collection brings the common thread of candles throughout each of the stories.

Snow Shine on Ice Mountain by Kelly Long
This story centers around Naomi Gish and Gray Fisher. Naomi runs a candle shop and her father has her hire Gray to help her during the holidays. This is a cover however as Naomi's dad has asked him to do moonshine deliveries for him. Naomi has been bullied and told she is plain and will not find love. Gray has suffered physically from an accident. The couple are old school friends. They find hope, healing and a happily ever after while working on a candle project together. I have to say I didn't not enjoy the sexual innuendo in this book. I felt it was out of place and over the top for an Amish story. I did enjoy the message of the story however.

A Honeybee Christmas by Jennifer Beckstrand
This story finds Bitsy Keim renewing friendship, having a second chance and finding love with Yost Weaver. Bitsy has raised her three nieces in the Amish ways and has done a fine job. Bitsy is not your typical Amish woman. There is a reason for this which you can read about. Her personality is feisty and strongly independent. She dyes her hair, wears temporary tattoos and loves modern music. She does however have a heart that helps and loves others. She owns a candle making business and she helps Yost's grandson learn the craft. I liked seeing an older couple find love and happiness. The important message was also that we should not judge others by their outside appearance.

The Christmas Candle by Lisa Jones Baker
This story was the most traditional of the three. Lydia Schulz is missing her married sister at Christmas time. She is helped by local Mennonite baker John King during a walk home from a local fair. Lydia and John are attracted to each other and get along well.

Lydia shares her heart with John. She has a tradition of lighting a Christmas candle after she completes a Christmas blessing. This year she decides to help John as her blessing.

The King family offers to do a community cinnamon roll drive for those in need. This event draws Lydia and John together as they work to help others. The biggest question is can they find true love if they are from different religions? Christmas dreams come true and love makes all things possible.

This book of holiday stories will help add warmth, joy and happiness to the Christmas spirit.

This shipped extremely late so I didn’t get the chance to read it at the time of year when I likely would have enjoyed it the most, reading a Christmas book at the end of February is not ideal, but these novellas mostly held up well enough even if the festive aspect was unfortunately a bit lost for me.

The first story featured the couple with the most chemistry. It was quite predictable and too easily resolved but I liked Naomi and Gray together, I liked that she has insecurities about her looks and he has insecurities about his arm and the reckless choices he’s made since his accident, and they lift each other up. He brings out her confidence and she brings out a desire from him to be a better man, that along with a flashback from when they were kids helped make it a bit easier to believe that they might have something lasting even though things have to be hurried along due to the short length of the story.

The second story revolved around my favorite character of the book, Bitsy. She’s somewhat older than your standard romance novel heroine, in her fifties, she left the Amish life but returned to raise her Amish nieces. She never came all the way back to being Amish, she listens to music, dyes her hair crazy colors, and wears press-on tattoos, she has attitude, but she also has a wise heart. I could easily see Frances McDormand as Bitsy which is probably why I loved her and didn’t for one minute think her love interest was good enough for her.

John and Lydia in the third story were kind, likable characters, I enjoyed her chattiness, I found it endearing that she can’t help but confide in him so quickly, but plot-wise there wasn’t enough going on in their story. I couldn’t help wondering if I would have felt a bit more engaged had the author really dug into their obstacle of him being a Mennonite and her being Amish, rather than just handle it at the end, surely it can’t be as easy as it seemed to choose a different way of life for love.

The Amish Christmas Candle Three heartfelt stories of romance for the holiday season written by Kelly Long, Jennifer Beckstrand, Lisa Jones Baker.

SNOW SHINE ON ICE MOUNTAIN BY KELLY LONG
Namoi Gish's father hires strapping Gray Fisher to work at his daughter Namoi's candle shop for the season. Mr. Gish, however, has an ulterior motive --- he wants Gray to deliver moonshine at night. Will Namoi find out the real reason that her father has Gray working with her at the shop and will Namoi and Gray learn that love is a gift.

A HONEYBEE CHRISTMAS - BY JENNIFER BECKSTRAND
Bisty Kiem has sacrificed living her English life to raise her three Amish nieces. Since all three girls are now married, it is time for Bisty to live her own life----When Yost Weaver, a love from her past, shows up at her doorstep with his grandson, will old feelings be rekindled, and can Bitsy give up her English ways, like dying her hair bright red and wearing earrings, so that Yost can show Bitsy what Plain love is .

THE CHRISTMAS CANDLE - LISA JONES BAKER
One of Lydia Schutz's favorite Christmas traditions is blessing those in need. Since her sister has married and moved away, Lydia is left to carry on this tradition by herself. When John King, a young Mennonite, gives Lydia a ride home and tells her that their family bakery will no longer be able to carry on a tradition of giving away cinnamon rolls to the needy on Christmas Day, because the demand has gotten too large, Lydia sees this as her chance to carry out her tradition of helping those in need. Will Lydia be able to help John and his family carry on their family tradition by providing enough cinnamon rolls for all those in need. Can two people from two different faiths unite their hearts as one.

I found all three of these stories very delightful to read and they were well written with interesting characters. If you are looking for a book full of holiday romance , I would recommend The Amish Christmas Candle.

For those readers who enjoy Amish stories, The Amish Christmas Candle will be a disappointment. Those who enjoy a strong romance theme might have a different opinion. This book is made up of three novellas. I almost stopped reading after the first one. However I did find myself smiling while reading the second novella in the series- A Honeybee Christmas. Each of the books had a decent message. But I wouldn’t label these Christian or Amish books.
Snow Shine on Ice Mountain is centered around the instant physical attraction of Naomi and Gray It is filled with sexual innuendos. While the language stays clean, most of the story line seems to center around their secret desire for each other. I didn’t find anything Amish about the book at all except for the Amish dialect. It might have been more appropriate to drop the dialect, lose the Christian tag, and label Snow Shine on Ice Mountain as a Harlequin. Mixed into the story was a theme of grace and forgiveness.
A Honeybee Christmas was more believable as an Amish story. But it was still quite a bit far-fetched. Honeybee Christmas was quite entertaining though and I couldn’t help laugh outloud. I really enjoyed this novella. The storyline had a strong theme of acceptance and loving one another for who we are. It also presented the concept of not judging a person by their appearance.
The Christmas Candle is the final novella. It just could not keep my attention enough to read it in its entirety. It was way too predictable.
Writing a book takes time and hard work. And often whether a book is enjoyed is just a matter of personal preference. I was expecting a Amish Christmas Christian novella and found none of that. But perhaps without those expectations, I may have had a different opinion. Those who enjoy a strong romance theme storyline might have a better appreciation for The Amish Christmas Candle. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Aunt Bitsy may be Amish, but she has blue hair one day, green hair the next and a colorful personality to match. Aunt Bitsy returned to her quaint Amish village to raise her 3 orphaned nieces. Now that they are married and working on their own families, it is time for Aunti Bitsy to find her own happy ending.

The Amish Christmas Candle is part of the Honeybee series by Jennifer Beckstrand, and at the same time, a stand-alone clean, family fiction, and romance.

This holiday season the snow is flying, the Christmas goodies are baking, and love is in the air at Aunt Bitsy’s warm and cozy farmhouse. If you love romance, Hallmark movies, wonderful food, and a good belly laugh, you will love the Amish Christmas Candle, a Honeybee Christmas story.

I love Jennifer’s stories and this is no exception. Once again, Jennifer has managed to tell a story that immerses you in the Amish culture while sharing a deeper message in a fun and humorous way. Bitsy keeps you laughing, while at the same time you feel protective of this middle-aged woman. She manages to maintain her individuality in a society which pressures her to conform. But can she maintain it and find love?

Yost is a widower who has been told by the whole town Bitsy is trouble. The storyline draws you in as you wonder if he can fall in love with Bitsy as she is, blue hair and all. Can Yost really see in Bitsy the strength, love, and beauty so obvious to the reader?

This book is best read by a crackling fire on a snowy night. If you really want to enjoy it, make Jennifer Beckstrand’s recipe for Pumpkin Pancakes for dinner and read while you sip hot cocoa and mini marshmallows for dessert.

I give this book a solid 5, and love that it is clean and something my young niece and mother would both enjoy.

This is a lovely collection of Christmas-themed Amish novellas with a variety to offer different reading experiences (which is a good thing). I find this one of the best collections of Christian novellas I have read in a couple of years.

A personal favourite is "SNOW SHINE ON ICE MOUNTAIN by Kelly Long", because I love her take on sexuality and healing. Sexuality and Amish/Christian fiction? Yes. Ms Long's works are deeply sensual and she is, let's say, not shy to discuss - and describe - the subject. YET! Never have I recognized such a deep respect for a God's gift of sexuality. She writes about it with dignity, living faith and a need to add to the very much needed healing in this area, too (as we live in the fallen world).
Here, we do not have som many of her signature vulnerable and sensual scenes :) Yet, Handsome Gray considers himself to be good for "only one thing" after the accident what left his hand damaged. Naomi considers herself plain and homely. They both need to heal their broken hearts, and Christmas is the time for miracles.

"A HONEYBEE CHRISTMAS by Jennifer Beckstrand" is a double winner because of portraying an older couple (in their fifties) to encounter romance - and because Bitsy Kiem is such a hoot! Hilarious and as sassy as they make them, she turns the world of very proper Amish widower Yost Weaver upside down. After all, she colours her hair, listens to rock musdic and may have a tattoo, too!

"THE CHRISTMAS CANDLE by Lisa Jones Baker" represents the traditional choice of Amish reading. Yet, while it is simple and sweet - there is still a need for the Christmas miracle for Amish girl Lydia and Mennonite John King.

The Amish Christmas Candle is a collection of stories each involving a candle. Each story is unique as is the voices of the authors who wrote them.

Snow Shine of Ice Mountain is the tale of two sweet characters brought together by a loving but mischievous father. It pushes the proper life of the Amish just slightly but when each finds love and worth for themselves in the other, a sweet ending is foretold.
A Honeybee Christmas brings us back to Bitsy Kiem. She was an English woman who gave up her life to raise her nieces in the Amish faith. With her nieces married and happy, Bitsy decides to have a little fun. However, Yost Weaver has other ideas..
The Christmas Candle shows us that love and help may not come as we believe it will. Lydia loves to help people. However, without her sister's assistance, Lydia feels that she may not be able to cope this year. When Mennonite John King shows her different, will they find love and a middle road?
Each story was told in a sweet way. I love this time of year. I received a copy through Netgalley. The positive review was not required.

I enjoy being able to read short story compilations by different authors as it allows me to see if I will enjoy reading the author's other works.

I did not enjoy the first story, Snow Shine on Ice Mountain by Kelly Long. First let me say, this is my own personal opinion on how the story spoke to me. Please make your own opinions when you read the story. Second, the author is a great writer and my opinion in no way reflects her great writing. I read Amish fiction as a change from novels with lots of sexual innuendos and such. For me this story was too sexually charged.

A Honeybee Christmas by Jennifer Beckstrand was my favorite. Bitsy is a real hoot. We all need a little bit of Bitsy in us. This story has sparked my interest in reading the Honeybee series.

The Christmas Candle by Lisa Jones Baker was exactly what you expect of a sweet Amish Christmas story. You will finish with a smile on your face.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington for an advanced copy to read and provide a review based on my own honest opinion.

❄️ Snowshine on ice mountain

A heart warming story about getting old and not being able to do things, doing things to try hide from the pain and heart ache. How true love feels and makes a person feel. Loved the story of the candle shop and the candle the made together along with the story of the cabin. A great book.

🐝 A honey bee Christmas

This book was so so funny I loved Bitsys colourful bright bold personality she is such a loveable character with her heart in the right place. A good book about not judging people based on how they look, dress but whats in the inside which is really what matters and counts. How a act of theft bought them all together and made two people fall in love.

🕯 The Christmas candle

I loved this story about making other people’s wishes come true for Christmas. Awh the coming together to help community and those less fortunate, adding scriptures to packages it’s the true meaning of Christmas. I love how this random act of kindness is the centre of this story but is also about a story of love at the same time.

Overall a great range of stories for the holiday season. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a great Christmas read this holiday season.

A Honeybee Christmas (Honeybee Sisters): 4 stars
I was pleasantly surprised by this story. It was a typical Amish story, and I liked this better than Sweet as Honey. It was nice to see what happened to each of the sisters. I also like that Bitsy finally gets her HEA.

Snow Shine on Ice Mountain (Ice Mountain): 3 stars
This one was also not a typical Amish story. It wasn't what I was expecting, which was a bit of a disappointment. I liked the ending, though; it was a pleasant surprise.

The Christmas Candle: 2 stars
This one didn't hold my attention. I liked the talk of cinnamon rolls, though, and it has me wanting some. That's the most memorable part of this story.

THE AMISH CHRISTMAS CANDLE by Kelly Long, Jennifer Backstrand,Lisa
Jones Baker. Kensington Books
SNOW SHINE ON ICE MOUNTAIN by Kelly Long Naomi has a candle shop;
her elderly father it is moonshine. Even to hiring someone to work in the store, as a cover for his moonshine business. Will there be the business of love for these two people. Enjoyable of two young people realizing their love.
A HONEYBEE. CHRISTMAS by Jennifer Beckstrand
Life for. Bitsy was raising her three nieces, in the plain way. Would there be a chance for love, and life for her now. A delightful story of love, and happiness, when she thought she had lost her chance.
THE CHRISTMAS CANDLE by Lisa Jones Baker
Lydia, wants help and maybe love at this time of year. John cinnamon rolls from his bakery, and a ride home. Maybe the beginning of the help and love they both want. All three of these stories are a delight to read and enjoy, anytime of year. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

The Amish Christmas Candle has a title that just invited me to read it! The cover is very homely. The book is actually a collection of three novellas which are all interlinked by the mention of a common object: a candle. The start of the first story did surprise me a little as it has some romance scenes.

Throughout the book, we get a sense of Amish family life during Christmastime. The pace of the book was good and I was intrigued to read novellas by authors I didn't know. A well-written and festive collection.

Thank you to the participating authors and their publisher for my ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
