I enjoyed this romance with its attention grabbing opening. Good characters, even the bad guys. Lots of action kept the plot moving. A fun read.

This series just keeps getting better! This book was incredible. Abel comes from Civil War Background, Kate from a fairly decent family in the city.
Kate needs to marry to receive her inheritance. Abel is pressed into a proxy marriage with her by an evil Sheriff who happens to be Kate's uncle. The Sheriff lies about everything leading up to their marriage except that she needs to marry to gain her inheritance.
The things the Sheriff didn't count on is their immediate attraction to each other, just exactly how capable Abel is of overcoming this situation and the determination of the women in town to rid themselves of this evil man!
This book is full of adventure and surprises. You won't want to put it down!
I received and ARC of this book. I am choosing to leave this review. All opinions in this review are my own.

This is the first book in the Proxy Bride series that I have read, although I have read and loved many other books by this author. A variation on the Mail-Order bride theme Kate marries Abel by proxy after her first intended husband was murdered. when they finally meet up there is a growing attraction between the two, realistically this does lead to closer intimacy between the two, however this is behind closed doors if you do not like more explicit material.
As with other good books I ended up finishing this at silly o'clock in the morning and can highly recommend it.
I did receive an ARC copy of this book from the author, however this did not influence my review.

Can they clean up Pistol Ridge....together?

I love that no matter what is thrown at her Kate keeps her cool, her sense of humour and her sass. She may enter her proxy marriage expecting one thing and get something else entirely, but what she finally finds is so much more....
Abel wasn't planning on putting down roots, but his choices are removed and he once again has to play the hand he is dealt. What looks like a shakey hand may just end up being the hand of his life if he plays it right.
I really like the town of Pistol Ridge and look forward to the new series. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

A town unites to overcome evil and a corrupt sheriff.

Don't under estimate the power or bravery of women united for a good cause or the safety of their loved ones. Add the power of God on their side and they will be victorious! One issue reflected in the story is how women were viewed as a husband's property. I believe every woman will agree women's rights have improved greatly, while we still strive for further changes such as equal pay for females holding the same work positions as males.

I received this book from the author. I helped name a building in the book. I had no idea what the book was about before I helped. So this review is all about the actual book after I read it.

It took me three days to read because I have to work and take care of my family. It was very hard to out it down when I needed to. I really enjoyed this book. It kept you wanting to read till the end. I can't wait to see what the town will bring. Very very good book.

I loved this book and read it in one sitting because it was very action packed. I couldn't put it down. I have yet to find a book by Cyndi Raye that I didn’t like. I highly recommend this book.

I received a free copy of this book but this review is my opinion and I was under no obligation to leave a review.

Able and Kate

This is a very cute short story. Kate has an inheritance from her father that her aunt and uncle want. Kate married Abel by proxy to be able to get away safely and to be able to receive her inheritance. There are lots of scoundrels afoot and you'll enjoy finding out if there's a happily ever after.... Or not!

Great western

Abel - bounty hunter and Kate - heiress with greedy/evil relatives.
I enjoyed reading this dramatic captivating story that is well written. It is ironic that they were able to find love and a place to belong, in spite of all the deceit going on. Their story has a wonderful and complete HEA.

Only evil sheriff and his sister. One innocent girl and a man who always wants to do the best. When the girl, Kate and the man, Abel were forced in a proxy marriage something happened what will influence the whole town. Make sure to pick up this story, it will keep you entertained from the first to the last page. I love this series and this story is in my opinion the best so far.

💞 Kate and Abel 💞

Loved this story! I adored the interaction between these two. Abel sure was a romantic! However, I think he was a little dense regarding the lie that Kate’s uncle told about her condition.

I also enjoyed the way he took down the wicked, evil sheriff with his civil war buddies. They’re nicknames were great 😊

Great, but has more potential

I really love the concepts but it is simply written. I enjoyed the read, liked all the characters that were introduced, and felt it was a great storyline. But it felt a bit flat, though I’m not sure what is missing.

Different

Certainly different from all the Mail order Bride books. Married before seeing each other can lead to hardship or blessing. This story is faced paced and holds your interest. It's a clean, and easy book to read.

A stand-alone romance.

A complicated set of multiple threaded plot twists. Two possible husbands, one venerable girl, a greedy aunt, and a wicked sheriff, and a murder and a wedding.

Read to find out what happens.

It was a fun read. Abel and Kate. Abel the adventurer at the mercy of a a corrupt sheriff, forced to agree to a marriage and Kate the proxy bride, forced to marry by proxy. It makes for an appealing story - to be a series. I think I will read them all. I liked the characters.

Mystery and Love Combined

This was my first “Proxy Brides” and I loved it! It had the right amount of mystery mixed in with this “Mail Order Bride“ type story. These are stand alone stories, but I heard Cal’s story is coming up and I can’t wait!

Great read

This book is the start of a great series that I recommend.
I like how the heroine in this book always stood up for herself.
The hero was sharp as a tack but never gave himself away.

Another 5 star book fir this author

Thus storyline is really interesting and keeps your attention as you follow the couple as they find out who they are, and who they will become to the town.
No language or sexual references so my advanced reading preteen friends can read it.
