She's everything he ever wanted. And nothing he deserves. When Celina Connelly returns to Birch Falls several years after her parents’ deaths, she’s not sure she’s going to stay. Nothing has changed, and yet everything is different. Or maybe living at home with her overprotective brother and working in the town library just isn’t enough. When Celina meets Jamie McCullough, she knows right away that he’s a nice guy. The problem is, Jamie wants more than just the friendship she's offering. Celina is saving herself for the all-inclusive, heart-pounding, breath-stealing kind of magic that comes with finding the right one. The kind she feels when she meets Jamie’s brother, Kyle. The dark, brooding biker is all wrong for someone like her, and yet from the moment they meet, Celina knows Kyle is the one she’d been waiting for. Kyle McCullough is the ultimate bad boy. He likes his machines fast and his women faster. When his younger brother comes to him for advice on seduction, Kyle laughs it off, believing no woman can be as perfect as Jamie makes her out to be. He’s wrong. Not only is Celina beautiful and sexy, she’s got the class of a lady and the soul of a biker. She's the only woman who's ever made him want more. But it will never work. She’s far too good for him. And Kyle doesn’t do good girls.

3.25 stars. ok so this was an ok read. at times it was sweet then others a little annoying. lol Kyle got me so mad at one point I wanted to punch him. I knew why he was acting that way but it pissed me off. I eventually forgave him. Lina was a sweet girl but then at times she was a bit naive I guess. lol I liked her brothers. sweet but overprotective men!
safety: heroine is a virgin. so heroine was dating hero's brother on and off for a few months. Honestly she saw him only as a friend. all they ever did at one point was hold hands and he kissed her chastely goodnight. that's it. they didn't even hang out much . we don't see this. he just says it. He was looking way more into it then she was. she liked his friendship and didn't want to lose it. Now the thing that upset me was she didn't just straight out tell him she didn't want him like that and only sees him as a friend . Sure all the signs were there. she didn't lead him to think she wanted more but she also didn't tell him . I really didn't understand how he thought he had a chance. seriously.lol Even hero didn't tell him either. he didn't find out about them until like 80 something percent in the book! !! he was out of town though. lol At one point he ask her to marry him. like seriously dude get a clue. lol she of course told him no and she wasn't in love with him. Do I consder this cheating hmm no not really because they weren't togther togther. do I think she should of just told him from the beginning that they were no more than friends hell yes. some might not like this but it didn't bother me much. it frustrated the hell out of me that one ,she didn't just say it two how can he think they had anything especially a future. lol I did feel sorry for him. he is a sweet guy who thought he loved her. hero was of course a manwhore. he never did relationships. he's the bad biker boy. sex is only a physical release for him (until the h). he always wore condoms (yay) except with h. it's only mentioned he has had lots of pussy. He does try to push h away . of course because of his brother and the fact he thinks he is not good enough for her. at one point he is a total ass, he finds out she is a virgin and says some mean things. he didn't believe she was as innocent as his brother was saying and when she told him she was a virgin. anyhow he let's her leave. she leaves for a week. he finds her apologizes (doesn't grovel enough)they make love and all is forgiven. I admit it was sweet and I eventually forgave him. his brother finds out they are togther. he says some mean things and realizes his brother really is serious about her and doesn't just want to fuck her. he then walks out the door and just leaves. hero and heroine live happy togther. lol that's it. So all in all it wasn't as bad as it may sound just more frustrating at times. Iol
♦️BOOK: #1 in the CONNELLY COUSINS series. Can be read as a standalone. Full length. Kindle loc: 2430
♦️EDITING: no errors found
♦️POV: multiple third person
♦️SETTING: small town of Birch Falls
♦️HERO: Kyle McCullough, 29--Builds custom motorcycles. He's tall and muscular with long, jet black hair past his shoulders, ice blue eyes. Doesn't do relationships. He's rough and tough, but can be very sweet when it comes to Celina.
♦️HEROINE: Celina/Lina Connelly, 25--works at a library and getting her Master's degree. Loves books and reading romances. Virgin. Perfect, beautiful, petite blonde with green eyes. She's sweet, intelligent, demure, a good girl but she's also tough and likable. Rides a motorcycle.
"An angel with the heart of a biker."
♦️PLOT: Celina is causally dating Kyle's brother Jamie, and he goes to Kyle for advice on how to get Celina to take their relationship to the next level. Kyle agrees to help but the moment he meets her, she affects him like no other woman has, and Celina feels for Kyle what she has always read about in romance books. Kyle screws up and pushes her away when he gets spooked by Lina's innocence and doesn't think he's good enough for her.
♦️REVIEW: I enjoyed this sugary sweet and sexy romance. Likable characters. I loved that once Kyle met Lina, she's all he wanted and she was different for him than all the other women that came before. I could always use a little more groveling from Kyle. Also, because Lina doesn't have feelings for Kyle's brother Jamie, I wish she would've just been open and honest with him from the beginning. Don't understand why she just left him hanging for so long. Some may feel like she cheated on Jamie but it's kind of a grey area. I'd like to read books about both of her hot, baddie brothers.
Celina is the first book of the standalone Connelly Cousins Trilogy. She’s made occasional appearances in the Callaghan Brothers series. Celina and her brothers are cousins to the boys in Pine Ridge, and live just over the river in the small valley town of Birch Falls. Celina’s late mother, Erin, and the Callaghan matriarch, Kathleen, are sisters. In terms of timing, Celina’s story takes place the summer prior to the first Callaghan book, Dangerous Secrets.
This opens with the reader getting a preview of the present,as Kyle rejects Alina, shattering her feelings.
Lina moved in with her brother Johnny and works around the library. She’s clearly not romantically involved with Jamie, and not until she meets his brother Kyle whom Jamie asked for dating advice, were there stars in her eyes. Kyle has a tendency of saying the wrong thing.
A self professed rake, Kyle is rough-around the edges, a custom builder of motorcycles, who doesn’t see himself as husband material. Women serve their purpose. Meeting Celina, he’s intrigued by this paragon of virtue rolled into sex goddess, convinced that she’s a skilled actress. Kyle of course doesn't think anyone could be as perfect as his brother describes, until he meets her. Celina is attracted to Kyle and wears her heart on her sleeve. When Kyle discovers she is innocent, he reacts badly and rejects her.
For as long as she lived, she’d never forget the look of horror on his face when he’d discovered the truth. Why was it so terrible that she had chosen to wait for the right one? Weren’t guys supposed to like that? Only with the woman they planned on marrying, a bitter voice answered. And clearly, Kyle was not interested in settling down anytime soon. He had wanted her, but apparently no more than he’d wanted anyone else. She might believe he was the other half of her soul, but to him, she was just another conquest.
Johnny has some funny thoughts: “This was bad. His sister was a good girl. Kyle did not do good girls. And Kyle shared his ride with no one, especially not a chick. There was a damn good reason Johnny tried to keep parts of his life separate, something she made increasingly hard for him to do since she insisted on leaving the house.”
He finds her innocent act, sexy. What man wouldn’t want to believe he was her first? To be the only one to claim that prize. No matter how many came after, the first was always the most special. Lina had implied that her “first” would also be her “only”. Jamie is attracted to Lina, but he starts to get frustrated with the lack of bedroom action and asks his commitment-phobic brother for dating advice, to meet her and give him some pointers.
Celina is the embodiment of sweet natured and has been spending time with Jamie placing him firmly in the friend-zone. Despite finding him handsome, she doesn’t feel a spark of chemistry.
The irony wasn’t lost on him, he’d been dating Celina for months, gone to find out how to get into Celina’s pants, and Kyle – the man-whoring, bad boy biker – had somehow won a much greater prize – her confidence. In a few short weeks Kyle had learnt more about her in a few short weeks than Jamie had in all that time. How did Kyle know about Celina’s best friend? And her brother? And what was the significance of the lake he’d mentioned?
Lena wants to be swept off her feet, someone who’ll be her soulmate. She doesn’t return Jamie’s feelings but clearly Jaime sees her differently and asks his big brother, the biker for dating advice, professing she’s a paragon of virtue/sex goddess all rolled into one. He tells of her beauty, innocence and desire to wait for the perfect one.
All it takes is one look for Lina to know she has found her one, and Kyle is immediately regretting his decision to help out his brother.
Lina is drawn to Kyle, she gets a navel ring and a tattoo, taking steps to be seen beyond her exterior good girl appearance. “I can’t do this,” he whispered, more to himself than her. “Oh, come on, Kyle. I know you’ve seen it all before”. Chances were, a lot of what she’d heard was true, and for the first time, that bothered him. He wasn’t about to apologize for his chosen lifestyle – it was what it was – but that part of his life had no place here, not with her.
Lina made him see the world differently. Through her eyes, it was a much nicer place. She was a grown woman but somehow she managed to retain the innocence of youth as evidenced by her inherent kindness and optimism, and he had punished her for it. Called her a liar and worse, all because he had stopped believing in fairy tales and happy endings a long time ago. He might not be the poster boy for ideal husband material, but no one would love Lina more than he did, or try harder to make her happy. And wasn’t that the most important thing? Why had it been so hard for him to believe she was exactly what she said she was?
Jamie’s suffered from unrequited love, he rejected their marriage spewing vitriol at them and acting petulantly.
Kyle was happy to be gaining two more brothers. It was saddening that his own flesh and blood couldn’t share in his happiness. He understood the reasons behind it, and couldn’t blame Jamie, but it still gave him a twinge to know that things would never be the same between them. Looking at his beautiful wife, his soul mate, he knew it could not have ended any differently.

This is a bad case of the hate the cover love the book.
I really really really liked the story, despite the whole push and pull theme between the two MCs. Great little story, especially the sexual built up, the conflict and of course the end when they made up. I am absolutely going to read the next book in the series and maybe even others by Ms. Zanders.
I am truly ashamed to say that I underestimated this book when I first added it to my TBR list and then started rang it. The wring is actually really good and engaging and full of rich words with no grammar or spelling issues. The author did a great job developing the characters despite the fact that the book length wasn't long. I wouldn't say this is a novella but not a full leant novel either. In any case, there was plot and the characters had personalities which weren't lost because the hero was totally gone for the girl and vice versa.
There was also a healthy dose of possessiveness and jealousy from both of them and to top it all off, Lina's brothers have captured my attention because they are so possessive and over the top protective, I loved it. Kyle was possessive and protective and jealous but something about the brothers, just made it ten times more profound. That's another reason I am moving on to the next book in the series. Those two good looking specimens sound hot and downright the type of heroes I devour in books.
Another point here is that Abbie didn't just focus on the two main MC, I really liked the fact that we got introduced to Lin's two brothers, Kyle's bother Jamie, and other friends and family of the two. That keep the plot on going and not boring with pointless drama if you know what I mean.
Now for those with the whole cheating triggers...I am not sure how to tackle this really. Jamie's and Lina's relationship was so non-existent that I can't fully call this cheating. There were barely any scenes with them physically together, on a date or even intimate. It was a mere mention but that's it. It was almost like a one sided relationship. Jamie was under the impression they were together but Lina was still doubtful about it. The only thing that could borderline make it a cheating scenario is the fact the Lina didn't end their relationship before going to Kyle...she kind of let it hang because he left town for a week or so.
So all in all, Jamie wasn't really much in the book and they weren't really together for what Kyle and Lina's relationship to be cheating. I hope this clears up nome things for those who are holding off because the cheating trigger. It would be ashamed to not read it just because of that. You're actually missing out a cute romance with a tough alpha bilker who really does end up falling in love with a girl who seems nice but actually likes to be naughty at time ;)
But...honestly Abbie, please change that hideous book cover, please!
I have to admit this isn't one of my favorites by Abbie Zanders.
Celina is the start of a new series about the cousins of the Callaghan brothers (a previous series). I think what bothered me about this book was how naive the main character was. Granted Lina (Celina) is a virgin and grew up with 2 older brothers, but after moving away after her parents death, you would think she wouldn't fall so easily.
Lina's been dating Jaime on and off for a couple of months and knows that he's not her "one" her "croies". When Jaime goes to his older brother Kyle for help to move their relationship to the next level Kyle can't believe his own attraction to Lina as well. While Jaime is out of town Kyle and Lina get close, closer than you should if your dating his brother. In the end like all other good girl/bad guy book Kyle turns Lina away for being a virgin and him not good enough, blah, blah, blah. I kind of felt this was the same kind of story line we've seen many times before. Nothing that really sets it apart. But again, this isn't that bad of a book. I am glad I read it.
This is actually my second or third time of reading this book, I love it, it is my favourite of this series, and it is one of my go to books. I am always pulled into the story and I feel as though I am watching what is happening as I read it. There are twists, turns and surprises throughout the book, some of the surprises are big, some are small, some you will see coming and others you won't, but they all make the book the fantastic story. I went on a emotional rollercoaster ride with this book, I did cry, I laughed, I got frustrated, a couple of times I wanted to slap the main male character within the story, but he redeemed himself and made things right. Abbie Zanders is one of my favourite authors and I highly recommend her and her books, I have never read a book by her that I have not enjoyed, the Callaghan series, is one of my favourite, and as an added bonus it is on audible so I can listen to it whenever I like.
This title is now available on audible and it is awesome
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the first in the Connelly Cousins series and ends in an HEA. Celina is a sweet librarian. Her boyfriend, Jamie wants to take things to the next level, but is afraid because he knows Celina is a virgin. Jaime enlists his older brother, Kyle's help. The problem is that the minute Kyle and Celina meet, sparks fly.
>Everyone tries to warn her away from the bad boy biker, Kyle, causing her to want him more. When Jaimie realizes he lost Celina, the book takes a pretty sad turn. Jamie is a nice guy and really gets the short end of the stick. Celina's brothers are both extremely alpha and super protective of Celina. When Kyle finds out Celina really is a virgin, his reaction didn't ring true. Why would he be upset she didn't sleep around?
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this story 4 stars. The romance was hot, but the conflict wasn't believable.
I got this book on stuff your kindle day and it was the very first one that I read. This was a very nostalgic read for me, even though I had never read it before. Celina reminded me of my 2013-2016 Wattpad era in the best way. Now I know Wattpad can have its critics, so I am in no way saying this book is poorly written or childish, the tropes simply remind me of that time in my life (I read everything with bad boy in the title, Celina reminds me of For Hating Me You Sure are Possessive a bit).
This is a classic “bad boy” meets “good girl” novel… the bad boy freaks out about the good girl… and drama ensues. A change from the dark romance she is a good girl so I will break her until she is like me method I am used to by now 😅. Lina and Kyle’s chemistry was instantaneous, and their connection heart-felt. It felt good to come back to that time of my life in a new way.
This is a good romance book. I really like Kyle and how manly and strong he is. Such an alpha. I like that although Lina is innocent when it comes to dating, she is not timid. She’s a good girl that is confident and mature. They had such a cute courtship. I really enjoyed how they hung out and got to know each other as friends first, albeit their instant attraction to each other. We can really see how they love each other. Not sure if it was necessary to include in the plot that Kyle’s brother liked her first so there was a little bit of a love triangle. Luckily, it wasn’t prevalent in the book so I was able to ignore that factor. Especially when you can see how they are meant for each other and his brother hardly even knows the real Lina. It’s well written and I look forward to reading about her 2 older brothers.
Celina is a fantastic contemporary romance by Abbie Zanders. Ms. Zanders has once again impressed me with her storytelling abilities. Celina is a well-written book packed with an outstanding cast of characters. Celina is dating Jamie, but there's no spark. Jamie is getting nowhere so he asks his brother to meet Celina so he can give Jamie some tips. Celina and Kyle's story is loaded with drama, humor, sex and misunderstandings. I enjoyed reading Celina and can't wait for my next book by Abbie Zanders. Celina is book 1 of the Connelly Cousins Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I was introduced to Celina and Kyle in the Callaghan Brothers series. Celina is their cousin. I enjoyed that series so much, I wanted more from this entertaining author. Celina finds herself casually dating Jamie and being very attracted to his bad boy biker brother, Kyle. Jamie is the all American good guy that doesn’t stand a chance when the sweet innocent Lina gets a taste of the wild side. Unfortunately, Jamie thinks of Lina as his woman and is blindsided by Lina and Kyle’s relationship. There is so much chemistry between the librarian and the biker, the pages are on fire.
Celina: WOW! Great story! Celina was the type that needed excitement in her life with have to over protective brothers that raised her after their parents died. Jamie was a great guy but in her mined more of a friend then she met Kyle and she she just knew something was right about him even he didn't believe in the right one or marriage. It was something about Lina when he was around her. He enjoyed life not just always with the bikes he lived so much. It was a great story and amazing writing.
Not always easy finding the one to sweep you off your feet. The book is well written and as always I'm glad I took the time to read it. I love Abbie's HEA's as they make you feel warm and fuzzy and kind of go "if only" in real life. But it's very nice to escape for a few on what could be's.
I highly recommend reading and starting from the beginning in the previous series, The Callahan Brothers.
What is it about a bad boy that captures a good girl's attention and imagination? Celina Connelly knew that Kyle was her 'one' almost immediately when she met him but he didn't seem to return that vibe. Howver, spending time with him only deepened her conviction. Kyle didn't do good girls or virgins or especially his brother's girlfriend. Yet Lina wormed her way into his brain and his heart with very little effort. It takes an unexplained absence for him to get his head on straight.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by CJ Bloom and Tor Thom, who did a very nice job (although Tor’s Celina and Abbie voices made me giggle sometimes). This edition combined Celina’s and Jamie’s stories, which was really a nice bonus. I am listening to ‘Johnny’ next, so I’ll see if I enjoy it as much as I did this first book in the Connelly Cousins series. If so, I am definitely a new fan of Abbie Zanders!
Celina has moved in with her brother. She works around the library. Kyle works on motorcycles and is very talented. Kyle meets Celina who is dating his brother. His curiosity is up about if she is all that Jamie says she is. He definitely likes what he sees. Celina wants Kyle but he holds back. When he finds out his brother wasn't lying, he turns his back on her. That is until he realizes he can't be without her. Will Celina forgive him.?
The girl is shallow and the guy is an awful human being. There is no redeeming quality for either. The backstabbing and lies only to say I forgot to tell him. For someone who writes about families, this book makes you hate them before you get to know them. I read it only to stop and realize that I hated these characters some much it ruined the next book for me
Celina is the only girl in the Connelly family, cousins to the Callaghans. She is saying Jaime but falls in love with his brother Kyle. This was a love story with a twist. Kyle and Celina are perfect for each other, despite outward appearances. Another outstanding book from Abbie Zanders.
The love story of Celina and Kyle. Celina has been in love with Kyle since the first time she saw him. Kyle want nothing to with Celina because she is a virgin but he still want her. Jamice think he is in love with Celina but she think of him only as a friend. Will Kyle let himself love Celine?
Poor Celina being chased by a guy that she only feels friendship for who invites his brother out to meet them for a drink, then finds he made the biggest mistake ever! Another beautifully written story by Abbie. I am so enjoying reading through her book list!!!
Kyle thinks Celina is playing his brother about being so innocent but is she?
I never expected this book to end the way it did. Yes I knew there would be a HEA, but never expected Kyle to turn out the way he did. Also never expected their brothers to respond the way they did, especially Celibate brothers. Can't wait to binge the rest of the series.
Wonderful story. I enjoyed reading about more of the family's relative. Celina being the only girl was a great touch. Kyle the bad boy meets Celina the virgin princess was exciting and enjoyable.
Surprises all around in love, blindsided by unsuspecting soul mate love, and the one that isn't right for you and hurt someone you don't want to, I hope Jamie finds his soul mate and family ties will be mended, thank you Abbie, Dana
I couldn’t wait to start reading a second series by Abbie Zanders. Her books are wonderful. With three more books in this series, I know I will be up late for the next few nights reading them!
I'm starting with the Connelly Cousins series next, and I've just finished reading Lina and Kyle's story. Loved the connection between these two. I'm so glad that Jamie gets his own book, my next read!! Brilliant storyline with wonderful characters and absolutely loved the HEA.
