Good read on being missional. Excellent ideas and purpose behind the book. The book flowed well and I loved how it balanced experiential knowledge of being missional with biblical teaching on the topic of spreading God's kingdom. I definitely have a lot to ponder and take away from this book. While there are times that being "missional" is overstated, it doesn't take away from the quality of the book. In fact, it has removed my skepticism about the "missional movement". The writer and the people he is describing are churches that are radically committed to the Great Commission and the gospel. Being missional isn't just doing outreach and service projects, nor is it just throwing out canned evangelistic scripts. It's a lifestyle.

Dick achieves his goal of creating an easy to read introductory book on missional. Although I believe that this trend has caught much attention is some areas of the country, I hadn't heard of it before hearing about it from Dick. That said, it makes sense.

The story of the Bible is one in which God sent His Son on a rescue mission and that changes everything. Not only our purpose in life but it inspires hope and joy.
