A family wedding with a fake boyfriend, meddling parents, and an obsessive ex . . . What could go wrong?

The only thing worse than being single at my sister’s wedding is finding out that my ex will be there too. Not just any ex—the guy everyone expected me to marry, the man I came to Jackson Harbor to escape.

Now I need a date, and fast. Enter Carter Jackson—the firefighter who’s dealing with an unwanted five minutes of fame ever since a shirtless photo of him saving a puppy went viral. He’s warding off propositions left and right, and he needs a fake relationship as much as I do.

Sweet and sexy, Carter is completely off-limits. See, I have a rule. A no heartache rule. Not only is Carter my friend and a known heartbreaker, but his job as a firefighter puts him in danger daily, and that’s something I just can’t handle.

The commitment between us might be pretend, but the passion all too real. As crazy as it makes me, I have to keep Carter at an arm’s length. Even that might not be enough to spare my heart.

Crazy for Your Love is book five in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series. All books in this series can be read as standalones.

To people who keep commenting on this book review I did years ago:

TO ANYONE WONDERING IF THEY THE HERO HE CHEATED ON HER I DO NOT THINK HE CHEATED ON HER. MY MEMORY WAS THAT THE HERO HAD SLEPT WITH MULTIPLE WOMEN EVEN THOUGH HE LIKED THE HEROINE, (this was before they started fake dating) I PERSONALLY DONT LIKE IT WHEN THE HERO HAS SLEPT WITH MULTIPLE WOMEN EVEN THOUGH HE LIKES THE HEROINE.

Read review with caution if what I said above upsets you.

They were both idiots
So the hero and heroine are friends and he had feelings for her but since he was grieving he slept with lots of women and didn't tell the heroine about it, at least when they started fake dating.
Literally every woman they talked to, he slept with and this dumbass(heroine) didn't realize it.

She let a whole lot of people walk over her, from her dramatic cousin( who also slept with the hero) and the dead ex bf and obsessive ex bf.

If she had such loving parents/ protective parents she could have just opened her damn mouth about how the ex was such a creep.

And the hero got angry at her because he was told by the crazy cousin that the heroine cheated on the dead ex with the obsessive ex. The crazy cousin also slept with the dead ex, the dead ex is a man slut.

The hero is also a man slut, are you getting her type?? And at the end when everyone finds out everything she apologises profusely to the hero, and I'm like why? You didn't cheat on anyone (she had a threesome or something like that).

They were both idiots and they deserve each other.

“You’re the worst kind of heartbreaker, Carter.”

I loved Teagan and Carter’s story. I think if you read the other books and get to know them beforehand, then this story is probably more enjoyable. I don’t feel like their characters relationship is built much in this one. It’s more like they have wicked attraction/chemistry and say how they’ve been close for so long so you’re told. Not shown. BUT ANYWAY. Like I said I enjoyed this read. I love Jackson Harbor. I love the characters from the past books and the other side characters as well. This book isn’t anything NEW, but it’s a good quick fake relationship to more read!

I had to sit on this one for a bit. I'm crazy in love with this series so I was incredibly sad and disappointed that I just didn't enjoy this book. Carter and Teagan's story felt rushed and lacked a proper build, I think. This was a friends to lovers romance with a fake-relationship spin, but it was overshadowed by a lot of over the top drama that felt unnecessary and left me struggling to connect. I never felt the chemistry between Carter and Teagan and because of that, I struggled with the story itself. This book didn't feel like a cohesive addition to this series and while I'm sad about that, I'm looking forward to Shay's book.

Carter and Teagan had a few bumps along the road to their HEA. Teagan especially had a lot to overcome. Rich is such a despicable character and I loved when she finally let it all out. I also loved that, although Carter was having a hard time because of the loss of his friend, he pulled it together and realized that he couldn't let Teagan go. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for Shay's story!

There is some sort of addictive substance in this series—I'm obsessed with the small town loves.

Plot/Pacing: ★★★★
Romance arc: ★★★
Uniqueness: ★★

Carter Jackson's romance moment is here! In the fifth book in the Boys of Jackson Harbor series, we explore the story of Carter and his best friend, Teagan, as they come up with a fake-dating scheme to solve their problems.

That will TOTALLY work, right?? (Wrong.)

Carter Jackson is a local firefighter who went viral with a hot shirtless photo of him saving a puppy. His five minutes of fame have led to crazy fans, obsessed reporters, and a slew of attention that Carter wishes would just go away. Couple that with his PTSD from a friend's recent death in a fire rescue, and Carter's really struggling with misplaced guilt and unwanted attention at a time when he's at his worst.

Teagan has other problems... like an ex boyfriend who refuses to leave her alone and is the reason why she moved away from her hometown, and her entire family, to take refuge in Jackson Harbor. Her family loves her ex and has no idea how controlling or manipulative he was/is, and it's led to lots of problems for Teagan over the years.

So when Teagan's sister brings the entire family (and Teagan's ex) to town for a wedding... Teagan needs some help. In the form of Carter. Fake-dating her to get her ex off her back.

I'll leave it there—dive in with limited knowledge, it's more fun that way!

My thoughts:
In short, I just really love this contemporary romance series by Lexi Ryan. I don't jive with her YA fantasy, RIP those stories, but the adult contemporary market really works for me. They're sweet, quick, and overall an emotional good time with the right amount of drama to keep you invested.

Highly recommend to those who enjoy small town contemporary romances!

Crazy for Your Love is yet another literary hit from the uber-talented Lexi Ryan! I cannot get enough of The Boys of Jackson Harbor series; and even though this book is part of the series, it can be read as a standalone. Although I highly recommend reading them in order because each book is fantastic!

Carter and Teagan…*sigh*…their connection is so simple yet so complicated at the same time. Both are attracted to the other. Simple, right? You would think so. Two people who are drawn together, with promises of desire and passion, could only mean positive outcomes. But where you’d think it should be simple is anything but. It’s both Carter and Teagan’s personal demons and internal battles that makes their connection from friendship to romance beyond conflicting. Both are quietly suffering from past tragedies, and both are reticent on sharing how shameful and broken down they truly are.

As much as I loved the comedic elements in story (and believe me, I’m a huge romcom fan), it’s the dramatic and contentious dynamics between the characters that really showcases the originality of the story line verses the stereotypical friends-to-lovers romance. The relationship between Carter and Teagan takes its own journey–from witty, flirtatious attraction to deep and profound love and acceptance. Their pasts may present a strong influence on their lives, but it doesn’t define who they are in their core.

As flawed and imperfect as both characters are, Carter and Teagan couldn’t be more perfect for each other. Nothing worth loving comes easy, and these two characters more than prove that. Alluring, breathtaking, and tumultuous, Crazy for Your Love was just crazy good!

4.5 Stars!

I absolutely love Lexi Ryan. She is a go to for books with a whole mess of emotion that also have such great chemistry and characters and stories that I get lost in them from the first page and then wander around in a bit of a fog for hours after closing the book.

The boys of Jackson Harbor has been such an awesome series and I have loved every one of them but when I picked this one up I only vaguely remember the last book. So I basically read this as a standalone and it still seriously worked for me. Although I am sure it would be even better if I had read it back to back with the other books.

I was so sucked in from the beginning trying to figure out everyone's secrets and then trying to figure out how they were going to be exposed. And I was so invested in both Teagan and Carter that I was dying to see it worked out perfectly for them both.

They were both going through so much that they really shouldn't have had to deal with alone. I just wanted to wrap them both up in big hugs and make it all better for them both.

And as much as I loved this book the hardest part is having to wait for the next one after the little tease I am assuming we got at girls night at the end of this one.

It started out great, with the fake girlfriend plot and all until it gets hot between the two. I was even rooting for them until things get complicated. To be honest, I don't know if I were in Teagan's position, will it be okay if somehow everyone just got a taste of Carter

The secret that Teagan held as to why she was scared of Rich was tiring at some point because she doesn't want to speak about it. Until she did. And boy, I sure didn't expect it to be that complex. Never thought about it.

Since this book was part of a series, it can still be read as a standalone. However, I would suggest you to read the first book of this series and so on in order for you to get to know the characters well and to fully enjoy the story.

VOTO 3,5 STELLINE

It started off enjoyably ... reminiscent of earlier book in the series, Straight Up Love which has been my favourite/ the least dramatic of the series. Sure Carter was a man slut, but it was mentioned by several characters that this was out of character for him and that he was suffering ptsd. I thought those bits were quite well done in the beginning, until it just became TOO much. Dude was sleeping with at least three women at once and there’s not much less romantic than that. (Do you think he got actual mental health help though?! One woman was sleeping with him to “help” him cope. Yep, seems legit 👍👍👍)
But then it kicked up into crazy levels of drama with the ex and everyone was either stupid or horrible (she was stupid, he was horrible) to the point where I didn’t want to read it, and then everything was quickly wrapped up, ignoring how horrible he was.

I have enjoyed The Boys of Jackson Harbor since the author has been publishing them, but I think Crazy for Your Love is my favorite of them all! These books can be read as a standalone without a problem, but believe me when I say you don't want to miss anything involving this fun family!

Friends to lovers has been done time and time again by many authors, but Crazy for Your Love did this in an unique way! It wasn't the typical 'we feel attracted to each other, but don't want to admit it', but Teagan and Carter both had their own demons to face. Without even realizing it, they were just what the other one needed. Whether it was pretending to be Carter's girlfriend at bachelor auction or being together at Teagan's sister's wedding, there was something there.

I loved watching their relationship develop. It was clear from the start that there was an attraction there, but they both didn't want to admit it. They had a lot of fun teasing, some serious conversations and it was very clear that they really cared for each other. Both had some stuff to deal with before really giving in to what they were feeling.

Even though both Teagan and Carter had some past issues, I didn't think the drama was too much. For both sides it was clear why they were having trouble with certain aspects of their lives. Being a firefighter and losing a friend made being seen as a hero for rescuing a puppy a bit too much. Teagan had some relationships that weren't right for her, but she didn't want to bring up what happened. I think they brought out the strength in the other that they needed to fight just a little bit harder.

Crazy for Your Love is another amazing installment in this series and you really love the characters before the end of this book. I was actually sad to see it end! If you're looking for amazing romances and an amazing family, definitely pick up this series!

Crazy for Your Love by Lexi Ryan is book 5 in The Boys of Jackson Harbor Series. This is the story of Carter and Teagan. I haven't yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Teagan has to go to her sister's wedding which she finds out a ex boyfriend will be attending too. So she asked her friend Carter to go with her as her date. Carter is dealing with some hard stuff too. But with this wedding weekend they end up facing the attraction that they have been dancing around. But can this lead to more or a loss of friendship?
Enjoyed their story.

Sometimes I go into a Lexi Ryan book thinking I'm going to get a nice easy contemporary romance, or maybe a nice rom-com. But then I start reading and the level of emotion sneaks up on me. All the feels start up and I fall in love with the characters. I get wrapped up in them and don't want to do or think about anything else until the last words are read and they get their HEA. That's exactly the experience I had with Crazy For Your Love.

I loved Teagan and Carter and how their pasts and present were written in such a way that I couldn't help but feel these characters could understand each other like no one else. They were both dealing with guilt and crushing emotions that were breaking them apart. But the moment I really started reading their interactions and getting to see them together it was clear they were meant to help each other mend their broken pieces. I loved this book so much. But then again that's not surprising because this series has been a huge hit for me.

I didn't really care for this one. Both Teagan and Carter were a hot mess, both used sex in the past to not deal with life, yet didn't want to fess up their past to each other. Sure you can build something real with that as a base. Then there is the way that they lied to everyone about the status of their relationship. It was a bit of a relief when everything came spilling out in the most messy way. By the end I didn't care that these two found their HEA, I was just glad to be done.

My Thoughts
This is the 5th book in the Jackson Harbor series, and while I've enjoyed my time reading them, I haven't loved any sequels the way I did book 1.

This was an insanely quick and easy read. I absolutely flew through this story in a single sitting. It was angst and dramatic and completely binge-worthy. And it had all the tropes to make an amazing romance - Fake dating, mutual pining, friends to lovers.

I thought the chemistry was fantastic. I was living for all the random hand brushes and shared glances across the room. There's something about fake dating that just raises the stakes and makes the tension that much better.

While I loved the drama and angst in here, some of the character choices were just obnoxious. I became really annoyed by Teagan near the end because of her self-sabotaging choices. It frustrates me when characters withhold information for seemingly no reason or "because they can't". Yes you can. You're being obnoxious... There was seriously no reason for Teagan to not just lay it out for Carter. And her insistence to keep her secret for literally no reason was frustrating.

Also this is one of my least favorite epilogues ever.

I am looking forward to seeing how this series wraps up in the next book! I know the final book is a second chance, sports romance and I'm here for it.

It's no lie that I love the Jackson family more then words!!!! I have read every book since they came out and honestly I don't want them to EVER end!  Lexi's family sagas are a thing of beauty!  Every story is unique and her hero's are just so swoon worthy!  I have to be honest this one wasn't what I thought it was going to be.  It was so much MORE!

Carter is another of the amazing Jackson brothers that you just won't be able to help not falling in love with!  He's sweet, sexy and a firefighter.  His recent fame has made him truly uncomfortable and he's harboring some underlying guilt that compounds the onslaught of attention he's been getting recently. Tragedy changes people, and Cater has gone from wanting a committed relationship to being a bit of a womanizer.  He's not over the top, but he's channeling his internal pain into meaningless relationships.

Teagan is in a pinch, she has to attend her sisters wedding, but her parents have gone and invited her ex, who she truly wants nothing to do with.  So when Carter starts a ruse that they are a couple, and her family catches on, Teagan sees the opportunity to get Carter to pay her back the debt he owes her by asking him to pretend for the weekend they are a couple.  Teagan is harboring some heartache over her past that she keeps well hidden from everyone. This story will unfold in a way that you won't expect.  Teagan's Ex is one of the biggest jerks, I've me in a book. He's selfish and self center and a total narcisist.  Mistakes that both of them have made surface and leave scorched earth!  The only thing that they can do is find a way past it all and help each other heal.

Carter is the most loving and selfless of the Jacksons if you ask me.  His love is so strong and so all consuming.  He's willing to open his home to help someone in need of love and direction.  He's willing to stand up to and for everything he believes and cares about.  He's one of my favorite hero's that Lexi has written!  I loved this one beginning to end!  Truly even if you haven't read the rest of the books, you can read this one and you will LOVE Carter Jackson!!!

This was yet another fabulous read by Lexi Ryan. Even though Crazy for Your Love is part of The Boys of Jackson Harbor series, it can easily be read as a standalone without missing a beat. However, once you read one of these books, you will want to go back and read the others. Yes, they are just that good.

The premise of this book begins with Teagan asking her friend, Carter to be her "fake date" for her sister's upcoming wedding. Teagan has reasons for not wanting to attend single and her strapping firefighter friend seems like the perfect deterrent to any unwanted attention. The underlying complication is that Teagan and Carter are attracted to one another but haven't acknowledged it. Carter is dealing with guilt over his friend's death in a recent fire through random hookups and Teagan has issues from her past that she still feels guilty for.

Over the course of the wedding weekend, Teagan and Carter acknowledge the feelings they have for one another and decide to act on it. Unfortunately, both of their past indiscretions come back to haunt them at the most inconvenient time. Through it all, you find yourself wanting them to find their way through all the "muck" and back to one another. Teagan and Carter are one of my new favorite couples. They are perfectly "imperfect."
