Three months ago when another relationship came to a disastrous end, billionaire Leah Sherbrooke put her love life on hold. Since then she’s spent her free time with family and friends, especially Gavin Kincaid. However, the more time she spends with Gavin the less she thinks of him as a friend and golfing companion. Instead, she sees him as the man she’s falling for. When Leah learns he plans to spend the long holiday weekend working, she insists he accompany her to a party in Newport.
Gavin Kincaid was attracted to Leah Sherbrooke the moment she walked into his condo. Unfortunately, at the time she was on the arm of his half brother, Harry, but since the night she caught Harry with another woman, he’s been growing their friendship and waiting for the right moment to make them more than friends. Leah’s invitation to a party provides him with the opportunity he’s been waiting for, and soon they’re both friends and lovers.
But when an overheard conversation between Gavin and his half brother casts doubt on their new relationship, Leah must decide if believing in Gavin is worth the risk.
Christina portrays her connection to the Sherbrooke family with elegance and class. Oh, how I wanted Leah to snap so many times but she killed each situation and person with kindness. Gaven, on the other hand had flames so that in given the opportunity he just unleashed.
Two souls uniting out of the office and enjoying each other as friends and soon lovers.
Another sweet book about romance of a Sherbrooke. This was one that I bought last year but never read. This Sherbrooke is Leah, the sister of Curt and Brett. Her forever love is Gavin who is the brother of her last boyfriend which made for an interesting read. It seems that Gavin was attracted to Leah and would have asked her out before his brother did had he known she was single.
The sex in this book was strained but still not too graphic or descriptive. Gavin also has a daughter, Erin. She and Leah clicked immediately. Gavin was the strong, silent workaholic who loved dearly, however he was taken by surprise when he discovered that he loved Leah.
As usual the Sherbrooke were loving and accepting of Leah's relationship with GAvin despite the fact that she had been in a relationship with his brother. Leah past boyfriends were all lacking with Gavin's brother, Harry being the worst of the bunch. She caught him cheating. Leah questioned why her last boyfriends were jerks but never thought it was her fault. She was so ready to be loved and Gavin was the one.
As usual, different Sherbrookes showed up in this book as well as Gavin's family which was pretty dysfunctional. It was interesting seeing a family so different than the Sherbrookes. I found this book more enjoyable than the others. Perhaps because I'm able to differentiate the Sherbrookes and love their interaction with each other. Or, because the books are easy to read, keep your attention and leave. It was probably the sexual attraction between Gavin and Leah. Had I known how good this book was, I wouldn't have waited over 6 months to read it.
This is a cute story about Brett and Curt sister Leah and how she dated the wrong brother and fell in love with the right brother. Leah is a down to earth, sweet, bold and no-nonsense kind of woman, so when she finds her boyfriend with another woman , she ends it right then n there not looking back. However, Leah never expected her ex-boyfriends-half-brother to check on her nor did she expect their friendship to elecate too more. Gavin is a habdsome, wealthy, honest ans carrying hunk who has a daughter not many know abiut, a father and step-brother hw isn't fond of, and he has been secretly in love with his half brothers girlfriend. This story is about how not everyone is a cheater just because they have the same DNA, hiw to not judge one person because of who their family is and about acceptance. I loved the relationship with Gavin and Leah. And Leah and Erin, but I especially adored the relationship between Erin and Gavin. I loved reading about the other Sherbrooke's and getting updates on their lives especially about Brett, Curt, Jake, and Callie. I have been reading this whloe series and have not been disappointed at how united this family is, they are a wonderful example for everyone.
How good is book 12 in this series? I started this just before bed and next thing I know it’s an hour and a half later. This book flows beautifully. Gavin, always had his eye on Leah but his half brother beat him to her. Fortunately his brother is a two timing jerk leaving Leah available. They play the friends route for several months before the green eyed monster hits Leah. Her last two boyfriends cheated on her so she is really taking this one slow. Gavin is a massive workaholic. Leah decides they need a little fun - Fourth of July at her parents place. Gavin is keeping a secret but for very good reasons. He has a daughter and anyone he dates he carefully vets before meeting Erin. Once the truth is out Leah needs some kid help and who better than brother Kurt and the little girl in his life. Fun to head bad to New Hampshire. Wouldn’t be a story without a little miscommunication. Fortunately we don’t wait long for these two to patch things up and leave us with another Sherbrooke happy ending. Love this series!
Cute story. I liked Gavin a lot he is exactly who he presents himself to be unlike his snake of a brother Harry. Loved Leah. She is down to earth and up front. They seemed to have an effortless relationship and only when others interfered or created drama did there appear to be an issue. They made a cute couple and along with Erin to add flavor and a little spontaneity to everything.
I love this series and as usual, I can't wait for the next book. Leah and Gavin's story is by far my favorite. Their love for each other is the sweetest. Gavin's daughter Erin is such a cutie and she loves Leah from their first meeting. I think each book gets better as the series grows larger. I highly recommend everyone read this book.
I chose the writing of five because that's all they had up there. I would have given it a higher number. All of your stories were so well written, they were beautiful. I loved how they ended, but I wish they could of have gone further. But thank you for writing such beautiful books now on to the next one . Thank you again ( Elizabeth Childers)
I have read and enjoyed all the books in this series and another series connected to this one and I highly recommend them to anyone who likes romance, friends and family.
Another brilliant read from Christina. Leah and Gavin’s relationship as friends was amazing and I knew when they got together they’d be a great couple there are a few stumps along the road but they get there. Can’t wait to hear more from this series
Looking forward for Alec Sherbrooke and Milan Novak sister of Brooklyn it be amazing if the last man standing Bachelor Badboy and the Heartbreaker Model one who will fall first can it be possible please...
A little repetitive but not bad. What will we do when there are no more Sherbrookes and Belmonts to write about? Leah and Gavin make a nice couple, nasty family members notwithstanding. It takes them a while to get over their misgivings but they deserve their HEA.
Leah Sherbrooke has had her share of hurt but, she goes all in with Gavin. They make a very adorable couple and when Erin, Gavin's nine year daughter comes for her stay the dynamic is heartwarming. This is another Sherbrooke story that you will enjoy.
I’m on a trashy (and I mean that in a good way) romance kick so obviously I’m gonna get books that disappoint. But wow I’m on a roll right now. This book had zero conflict. It had zero character development. It was just flat.
Very, very cute romance! The story was full of family and togetherness. There was the expected villain... you know, the one you love to hate and his treacherous father. No spoiler alerts from me. I dislike reviews that feel they have to get into the whole story.
This tops the abrupt endings in this series, I don’t believe any of the other books are worse than this. This author seems clueless as how to finish a story, that’s for sure.
I have truly enjoyed this series. Reading about each family member and they love and interactions and support makes my day. For a happy read be sure to add this to your romance list.
This seemed to be a great friendship between Gavin and Leah. But, she was unaware he wanted much more. These are two lovely people that you will root for their happiness
So I'm giving it 2 stars, I didn't finish it.. 1. because the brother was her fallback choice / she broke up with the other brother because he cheated (don't really like when books start of the cheating) 2. he had a kid and didn't tell her about her til later. Only giving it 2 because of the cover
