Unseen is a plot driven mystery in the small community of Animas, Colorado, which I found very entertaining. It is the second story in the Folk series and it captivated me to want to figure out the mystery and the danger that the main characters were caught up in. Teran Richter and his friend Reynard were sent to Animas to seek out other Folk people. During his search he comes across two women, Eva and Marika, and there is a chance one may be Folk. For Teran it is Marika Sager, that captures his eye and wants to get to know her a little better. Marika finds it interesting that a handsome stranger would be seeking her out, and she finds herself instantly attracted to him. Teran wants to get to know her better but he can’t get distracted from his task at hand. Teran and Reynard ended up finding was a lot of animosity, resentment and danger and attacked for no apparent reason. Things get really out of control when Marika herself is taken when Teran calls for reinforcements to help with unraveling the mystery and magic surrounding them all.

I thoroughly enjoyed this quick read and it flowed well from page to page. I was caught up in the mystery wondering about the who and why and when it would all come together. The author plotted it well and the chemistry between Marik and Tehan was hot and sexy. I like it when an author catches me by surprise and Meg Benjamin definitely did in this story. Knowing that there is a third story in this trilogy I am definitely all in and can’t wait for Bertie and Eva’s story.

Having read and loved Away, I knew I wanted to read more in the world of the Folk that Meg Benjamin has created in this trilogy. This book focused on Teran, a half-breed Seelie and Marika, an artist with a small gallery in the mountain town of Animas, CO.

Teran risked his own career in the first book to help rescue some kidnapped women and as a result was put on administrative leave from his job as a sheriff's deputy when he was unable to reveal the truth about his actions to his boss, as that would have revealed the existence of the Folk. Now he's at loose ends, so he's asked to go to Animas to look for other half-breeds who were abandoned as kids and raised by their mortal parent instead of their Folk parent. While there, he meets and is immediately attracted to Marika. She doesn't seem to be part of his mission, but her best friend, Eva, does, leading to Teran spending time with both of them to investigate. However, he and his partner soon are experiencing all sorts of threatening actions, leading to a final showdown. Along the way, Marika is revealed as having powers of her own and she and Teran must fight for their lives against an unknown challenge.

As always, I love how the author writes her couples. Teran and Marika were great together. They worked with each other, shared information, and didn't rush off on their own and make stupid moves. Both of them have never really fit in and don't have strong family ties, nonetheless, they don't have hang-ups about relationships and are very open to finding that special person. In this book, there was little relationship conflict, yet the book moved along smartly due to the mystery of who was threatening them and I ended up staying up late to finish it.

Also, since I read the trilogy out of order and had already read Found, the third and final book, I was happy to finally get the back story on Eva, the heroine of Found. She was so great in that book and I loved her in this one also.

Even though the trilogy is complete, I hope the author decides to write more in this world as it's very different from the usual PNR. There's magic, but because the characters are mainly half-breeds, it's not overpowering, just enough to keep it all interesting.
