Three years, two months and twelve days—the time I've been running. Not that I'm counting.

I happen to know how long I've been running for my life, because it's the same time that my sweet baby sister has been alive.

Because the minute she was born, I took her and ran. And I never stopped.

Until now. Today is the day they'll finally catch me. The day that I stop running. Damn.

The enemy is close. I can hear them. Feel them. They're going to catch me. Maybe. Maybe not. I'm pretty fast. Like racehorse material. I might be able to outrun them one more time.

If I don't trip and fall on my face. Or hit a tree...

Ouch. Dammit.

Someone else is coming for me. No..something else. A dragon...or a demon...maybe an angel...nope, it's a freakin' gargoyle.

Somehow, I know he's here to save me. Save us.

But he's looking at me like he wants to eat me.

And I don't mean for a meal.

The Fallen Moral Guardian Series is clean paranormal romance, with mild language and violence. The author always guarantees a Happily Ever After in her stories.

I loved the storyline but got annoyed with lengthy internal monologue which happened quite a bit throughout the book. For example, the main character is lying in front of her mate bleeding out & he goes on thinking about something irrelevant for 5 minutes before he gets around to helping her. I skimmed over those parts which amounted to at least 1/3 of the book. I did enjoy the actual story & will read the next book.

Fast paced plot, good fantasy/dystopian plot with a slow burn romance.
